Has a great interest in older ships. Be it old Starfleet vessels or old sailboats to old Vulcan freighter ships. There are many things that interest Jim. Old weapons, pistols, and old Starfleet weapons as well. Started a bit of a collection once but lost most of it when the USS Hermes-D was destroyed. Along with these basically normal hobbies Jim has always been interested in inventing. Tweaking and adjusting what all ready exists to make it better or more efficient. His created several new shuttles in the past. All of which had been destroyed on many missions. He has also created a Starship which is of theoretical design.
Before Academy Days
Before the Academy Jim spent a lot of his time at school. Mostly because he would always get in trouble. Nothing serious just he had always rather spend time helping people and inventing things and would lose track of time. Staying after school was the only reason he graduated. His admittance into the Academy was thanks to an old family friend. After the Academy just about everything changed for him. ACCESS DENIED. Clearance beyond this point must be given. This information has been deemed confidential. Level Five Access required.
James Kirk's first year at the Academy was riddled with failure. Much of it was due to concentration. It would seem his recommendation was misplaced. The skill was there but his attention was directed elsewhere. Three quarters of the way through his first year a drastic change was recorded and he made a full turn around. The reason behind this turn around is unknown. From that point on he excelled in predicting movements of enemy targets.
Although good in other areas, such as Command, Engineering, Basic Combat, and Advanced Hand to Hand Combat, the student concentrated most on his piloting skills. He managed some of the hardest courses with minimal effort. Though some were still challenging he showed promise and has perfected most of his flying skills. If not for his first bad year he would have graduated at the top of his class. For more information on the student please contact him or the Academy directly.
