Waiting at his post on
the bridge, Rydekk looked over the sensor information from their fight
earlier. Those Reman ships were using a vastly different warp
signature than what we previously had in the database. It's borderline
with Vulcan warp signatures. It means they'd also have to adjust their
cloaking field to conceal the warp signature. Without further scans on
the cloak, further encounters are going to get rough... He
continued to go over the data and mark certain points of interest until
the comm chirped.
"Tenik to Lieutenant Lhidan. Please come down to transporter room one. I have found something that you may be interested in." Rydekk tapped his commbadge. "Is that so Ensign? I'll be there momentarily." He quickly tapped his console, saving his work and minimizing it to the background while returning it to sensors for the relief officer, who promptly took Rydekk's place as he stepped to the side, heading for the turbolift. On his way down, Rydekk briefly pondered why the Vulcan would want him to look at the transporter. Why not an engineer? Rydekk only had a basic understanding of the transporter from his Operations course at Starfleet Academy. He'd be able to operate it if necessary, but he had no idea of the intricacies of the device. He stepped into the transporter room, turning his attention to Ensign Tenik. "You wanted to see me, Ensign?" Without looking up, the Vulcan continued to tap his controls, bringing up the full data on what he was planning to show Rydekk. "Correct, Lieutenant. I have come across something peculiar." It was at that point he looked up to the security officer. "Join me please." Rydekk quickly stepped up to the transporter controls. He towered over the five-foot, five-inch tall Vulcan, but he was used to it, seeing as how his post at tactical overlooked the majority of the bridge. Tenik turned to look at the Incendari; his eyes traveled up towards Rydekk's face while wearing a raised brow. Turning back to his console, he directed Rydekk's attention to a flashing line of data of the monitor. "And that means... what, exactly?" The Vulcan looked up at him blankly. "Last night at twenty-three forty-six, the sensors detected a transporter signal; unknown origin. Three minutes later, the same signal appeared. I am assuming the latter was the beam-out." Rydekk looked confused. "Why didn't that trip a security alarm?" Tenik simply looked up at him. "Exactly. There is also one other thing to note." He pointed to the right of the console, noting the coordinates on the beam-in. The security officer's eyes grew wide, and he instinctively tapped his commbadge. "Lieutenant Lhidan to Commander Diell. I need to have a word with you, Commander." =/\= TO BE CONTINUED =/\= --
