• At the age of 10, Peter's parents took him to visit the Utopia Planetia Fleet Yards on the surface of and in orbit of Mars Colony.  He was astounded by the amazing starships he witnessed being built.  From that day, Schulte decided that he would become a Starfleet officer, serve on board one of those glorious ships, and explore the galaxy.  He passed his first Academy Entrance Competition Exam with flying colors and went on to complete the Starfleet Academy Preparatory Program during the summer of SD 200006.01-200007.13.

• Schulte, a violinist since age 11, spends some of his free time practicing and performing solo violin and chamber music. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City, North America, as principal second violinist of the Starfleet Academy Symphony Orchestra on SD 200504.03.  The Academy Orchestra also toured Europe, performing in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria and visiting Prague and Brno, in the Czech Republic.  Peter also enjoys performing with famous orchestras and string quartets on t he holodeck when there are no other crew members with whom he can play.

• On SD 200608.04 the USS Lothlorien (NCC-514251-B) was destroyed in a self-destruct initiated by Rear Admiral Styre to destroy a bioweapon aimed at the Center of Federation Government on Earth.  Incidentally, Schulte lost his violin with the ship.  Luckily, he had applied to the Antoni Stradivari Society, an organization that ensures that fine Stradivarius violins stay in the possession of performers, not collectors.  The society contacted Schulte shortly before the Lothlorien-C was commissioned, and he was able to acquire a Stradivarius violin before leaving Earth.

• Schulte joined Starfleet Academy on Stardate 200009.08 in hopes of being assigned to a starship to explore the galaxy. He majored in Operations and minored in Music. He graduated on Stardate 200506.01 as tenth in his class and was promoted to Ensign. ***He is also trained as a science officer. • While a senior at the Academy, only weeks away from Graduation, Schulte missed an evening Xenobiology class.  When Academy administration looked into the reason, they discovered that an unfortunate incident had befallen the cadet.  While walking down Market Street in San Francisco, Schulte was kidnapped by a group of thugs.  They took his comm badge and a PADD he was carrying and locked him in a room furnished in 19th century Earth style.  In that room, Schulte found a 500-year-old telegraph key.  He tapped out the only Morse code he knew, --- ... --- (S-O-S).  By an extremely lucky chance, his distress call was picked up by telegraphic communications enthusiast Alan Mullins.  Mullins tracked the signal by following the telegraph wire connected to his house to the location where Schulte was being held.  Using a hand phaser, he rescued Schulte and they soon became good friends.
