We are currently on a mission to rescue the crew of a federation starship who
are believed to have jettisoned their escape pods onto the area of five
planets. I was assigned under Lieutenant Commander Jantak's away team. We
beamed down to the surface onto a narrow ledge in a valley. The wind was very
strong and posed a threat to all three away teams. A tornado formed, causing
up to 100mph. wind. Also a volcano erupted endangering us also. We climed to
the top of the valley and sealed ourselves in. There
were several bursts of blue light which we couldn't explain. Jantak and I
tried to cross a gorge in the cave, but we couldnt cross. There were several
tremors, and laughs and claps . We doubled back towards the entrance and
walked into a green, blue, and orange arena, which was called a game show.

Duty Log
We picked up an ion trail of the planet Nakiria, a CRA base. We set course
for the ion trail, following a captured Cardassian vessel manned by
Lieutenant Commander Tyven, Lieutenant Commander Jantak, and Ensign Jana V.
When we were about halfway there, the friendly Cardi(vessel x) vessel was
boarded. We remained cloaked for a couple of minutes observing, and then
decloaked. We were not attacked, since all the CRA vessels were attacking
vessel x. I did'nt fire until I had to, when Jantak was low on
torpedoes and the odds werent so good for him alone. Combined we fought off
the ships and continued. We reached the planet, and at first we were
"greeted" by alot of fighters. The MACS launched and gave the fighters a
greeting of our own. A short while later 4 CRA ships intercepted us, they
werent a real problem. Then 15 ships decloaked. I managed to destroy 4 of
them. Vessel x was destroyed, but luckily the crew was able to beam over to
the Stealth. In this battle the Stealth was disabled, and the
planet Nakiria warped away, but the calvery arrived, took care of the ships,
and as far as the long range sensors could tell, the planet was destroyed.

Entry code alpha-three-one. Begin logging
I am writing this log on a data PADD I have luckily found in my belt. I
wonder if anyone will ever read it...but it doesn't do me any good to think
like that.
I don't know where I am. At least Commander Adria and Lieutenant NCC are
still with me. Our away team started out by beaming down to a planet covered
by desert. Well, actually it wasn't all covered by desert...there were a few
volcanoes, too. So you can imagine what happened. It started to erupt, and we
ran like hell. When we thought we were safe, I started hearing voices.
Apparently I wasn't going crazy, because Adrian and NCC heard it, too. And we
saw this...blue light, at the top of the volcano. The
commander decided to climb up and investigate. So we both followed.
Then I guess I went a little kooky...I just started staring into that light,
and it was kinda hypnotizing me. At first, it just looked a little like a
kaliediscope, with all the pretty colors and everything. But then, I started
seeing things in the light. It was really faint, but I definately saw them.
Once, I saw a huge mountain range. Then, I saw a busy town. And then...I
could've sworn I saw something like the capital city of Romulus. It must have
been my imagination. But still...
And then we were falling. We ended up in a large room with all different
colored lights. And here we are. Home sweet home.
God, what I woudn't do for an ale...

Mission Debriefing
Commander Angel Phar
USS Stealth NCC 1414B
Mission Objectives: Locate and retrieve stranded crewmembers of the USS
Churchill from the Goldwater Sector of the Adelphous System.
Briefing Report: The Adelphous System is comprised 20 habitable planets.
The Goldwater Sector contains five, unexplored planets which fall within *M*
classifications. It is believed that the survivors of the Churchill will be
seeking safe haven on one or more of these planets. Due to subspace
interference, the Captain has deployed four Away Teams to conduct a manual
search for the missing personnel. Their return and rescue are imperative.
The Stealth will maintain a standard orbit around the fifth
planet and moniter all Away Team Activities.
Bridge Log: Stardate 9609.18
21:10 hours..... 4 Away Teams are transported to planets A, B, C and D.
21:12 hours..... Confirmation of transport and initial tricorder reports
begin filtering in. Planet *A* registers wind velocities approaching 80mph.
Planet *B* registers seas and waterways encompassing 90% of the planet's
surface. Planet *C* registers unusally high levels of vegetation. Planet
*D* registers vast desert regions with active geological formation.
21:18 hours..... All communications with Away Teams are severed. Emergency
re-routing of power to scanners, reveals that the Away Team signals are
intact.
21:20 hours..... Subspace interference disables tracking of the Away Teams.
21:22 hours..... Orders to prepare ten Class-8 probes for launch were
initiated.
Notation: The USS Stealth 1414B carries (12) Class-8 probes. These probes
contain highly instrumented sensors capable of retrieving detailed
specifications, tricorder reporting and communications from remote locations.
Resembling photon torpedos, they are capable of extended flight at high warp
speeds. Although quite small in size, Federation records have recorded
successful modifications enabling the transport of two personnel per probe.
*TNG: 2365, The Emissary.
21:25 hours..... Telemetry guidelines for Probe deployment to each planet
have been installed.
21:30 hours..... Probes launched.
21:32 hours..... Intermittant static and a unidentifiable hailing are
reported by Operations.
21:35 hours..... Science Station reports the source of the sub-space
interference appears to be localized on the fifth planet.
21:36 hours..... Reports on the ETA of Probe Telemetry indicate 15 minutes
to positioning.
21:38 hours..... All non-essential functions are terminated and resources are
allocated to sensors and weapons.
21:42 hours..... Passive scans indicate a probably source of jamming
equipment.
21:43 hours..... Shields are raised and a general hailing to the planet's
surface is initiated.
21:44 hours..... Phaser's and Photon's are placed on stand-by.
21:46 hours..... Tactical reports shields being raised on the planet's
surface.
21:47 hours..... Yellow Alert Initiated.
21:48 hours..... Second Hailing initiated with message to lower shields.
21:50 hours..... Operations reports probe telemetry established.
Communications are still being jammed.
21:51 hours..... The Stealth leaves orbit around the fifth planet to monitor
and rescue the Away Teams.
21:53 hours..... Away Team signatures are identified and the Transporter
locks onto their signals.
21:55 hours..... All members of the Away Teams are successfully retrieved.
21: 56 hours..... Retreival of the probes is initiated.

BEGIN LOG
Stardate 9609.22:
It has been a couple of days since the away mission but the counselor thought
it prudent not to write a log because of psychological traumas recieved on
the mission.
With that out of the way here's what happened: Most of the crew was was
divided up into teams. We then did a mass beam down to various places on the
planet. My team was beamed down into a desert and not very far from a
volcano. We began to look around when we relized that the volcano was
begining to erupt. The safest way for us to retreat was towards the volcano
and past it. We ran towards the volcano and rested when we reached it. For
some reason my team leader, Adria, was compelled to climb the
volcano so Tora and I followed. We reached the top and looked in and saw a
glowing blue light. Thats when i started hearing voices and seeing things
and- ::takes a deep breath and regains himself:: I'd rather not talk about
this anymore.

last will and testament
Mission Report
We received a hail from Starfleet Command... Admiral Hanson << No... I
believe it was M who assigned the mission >> ordered us to investigate a
subspace hailing from a planet in our sector. The planet, Malenta is
classified as an *M* planet with no known inhabitants << I knew that M was
involved... this sounds vaguely familiar. I recall a mission; You Only Live
Twice... it appeared to be an empty volcano, but in reality... >>. We set
our coordinates to intercept the signal. We were just underway
when the Captain was sucked through a portal into an Alternative Offline
Lounge. Rescue teams were dispatched. The crew was nervous << operatives
always are... look what happens; I make contact and the operative is
killed... ::Shrugging:: it's all part of the storyline >> without their
Captain.
Coordinates locked we proceeded at warp factor 6 to Malenta. ETA 3.5 solar
hours. While enroute Scans picked up an electromagnetic field eminating from
a gaseous cloud << I suspect that it was the blue plate special... beans and
weenies as you Yanks put it >>. The ship was rocked and begin tumbling
freely, the inertial dampeners failed. Lieutenant Smitty was quick to
initiate repairs. Damage Reports began filtering from all locations << It
was probably those free radicals... I had a similiar
situation occur in a case that I like to call, Never Say Never Again. It
seemed as though everyone was fine... on the outside >>. Damage reports
indicated minimal structural damage and no casualties.
Immediately after I called for a status report from the Helm, I began
noticing some rather bizarre behavior among the crew << Now this is where I
come in... I was just minding my own business, protecting the free world
from graft and mayhem, when I was intercepted by this... this... female. Now
I am not sure if this is penance for my life of... ::smiling:: ...charm, but
I have never been involved in a plotline like this before. Moneypenny will
be furious >> I summoned the Command personnel to the
Ready Room off of the bridge. Once gathered I requested a briefing from all
officers on our current situation. I was stunned at the appearance of the
crew... Lieutenant Commander Adria << Now, I will agree... she was stunning.
Reminded me of some of the agents that I have worked with... Dr. Goodhead,
Pussy Galore, Honey Rider, Domino... all beautiful and brilliant and...>> was
not attired according to Starfleet protocal and she had done something to her
hair.
I suspect that the crew is suffering from some form of delusional psychosis.
<< I have dealt with many delusional characters... Largo, Dr. No, Zorin and
even some of our own colleagues. My former partner 005 turned out to be a
bad apple. Have I told you about the mission I called Golden Eye >> I
believe that Counselor Adria will determine the problem when her hair color
is returned << I have always felt that blondes have more fun. As a matter of
fact, I was discussing this very issue the other day
with Q. You can never estimate a woman's potential by her hair color >>
We have abandoned our mission to Malenta and are reversing our course at
impulse power. << I have always preferred Austin Martin's or a nice, modified
Lotus for my runabouts. Q adds all kinds of ingenious little gadgets...
have I shown you my watch? >> I anticipate rendezvous with the Captain's
rescue unit in approximately twelve hours. << Rendezvous... now I can tell
about some wonderful locations... Have you ever been to Rio? >>

Duty log and Status Report
The Stealth has moved away from the electo-magnetic field and the anomaly
that almost destroyed the ship. The delusional psychosis that permeated the
personnel onboard... is diminishing. I am pleased to report that Engineering
has made great strides in stabilizing the enertial dampeners. I anticipate
warp capability in 1.5 solar hours.
A question has been bothering me since this mission began. We were
dispatched via open communications, away from our destination at the Neutral
Zone. Our new mission was to intercept an unknown *hailing* from an
uninhabited planet. I do not believe that the status of our second mission,
should have prevailed over our intelligence gathering assignment. I am
curious as to why we were diverted. Our previous mission was to *covertly*
observe an increase in military traffic along the Neutral Zone. Any
increase in military activity... has an ominous feeling to it. It could be
a sign that the Romulan's have decided to colonize additional systems into
the folds of the Star Empire. I suspect that we were strategically removed
from the playing field. I hope that battle was not initiated without our
presence. It is thirtyeight solar minutes until we reach a classified
communication's *grid* in this sector... I believe we will be receiving an
update on our aborted mission.
The Captain should be arriving back onboard within the hour. Preparations
are being made for his arrival.

Well, we seem to behind in the polls. No one seems to be interested in
voting for a conservative anymore. It's not like Clinton's doing any of the
work. He just brings home all of the papers and gives them to his wife, Mrs.
Whitewater. If that annoying little brat of his, Chelsea, doesn't stop making
me loose my vision I'm going to have to start throwing some dirt. I think I
hit his cat, Sox, the other day with my car. Guess that's what I get for
driving with one hand. My wife always said she should
do the driving, even if she is my second. I sure am getting nailed for
taking money from the Tobacco Co. But I think Clinton was hurt more with the
Abortion Veto. 1 point for the Republican's. "And the Rocket's red glare!!!!

Putz nodded to Commander Phar and left the bridge in her capable hands. He
walked into his ready room which was now adorned with his own personal
effects. He admired his framed copy of the Ancient U.S. Consititution as he
sat in his desk. Picking up his PADD to catch up on some work which he had
neglected in the past weeks. He read as he thought of the past, this office
had belong to many people... In any real sense that was not ture, the
Stealth-B had only belonged to one person...him. A wave of sadness
crossed his mind as he remembered the death of memories...the very chair
Commodore Connery had sat in when he uttered his final command to a Stealth
crew. The past was gone the very last of the old crew, gone, except Putz,
eternally here, watchful of his old ship hoping to keep her name engraved for
ever in the stars.
With a beep of intrusion Putz' thoughs were cut off..., "Captain, we
are being approched by the U.S.S. Constantine. Rear Admiral Petra wishes to
speak with you on a secure channel."
"Well, patch him through if you'd be so kind.", said Putz in an
agitated tone.
Putz heard a grumble as, after a few moments, the familar Starfleet
Intellegence logo appeared on his screen. With a moment of quick realization
a slight smile appeared on Putz' face. "James how is dad?!", as his smile
increased in size. James Petra, Assistant Director of Starfleet Intellegence
had been a family freind since Jonathan had been born. In fact Putz' "Uncle"
James was both his godfather and mentor. The then Commander Petra was the
person who taught Cadet Putz' Command Class.
"Jonathan...your father is recovering well. He is still not a hundred
percent which is why I am here. Unfortunately this is not a social visit
although we are now going to be spending a great amount of time together. You
are ordered to transfer over to this ship for the next week to be briefed in
something of upmost importance. Commander Phar and your crew will be sent on
an assignment."
"Sir...I would really prefer not to... How serious is this, whatever
it is?"
"Jonathan...do you remember that day in the Ald'Ban Woods where we
were lost. I told you not to worry because the sun in that system always set
towards the south..."
"Err...I guess."
"Well...Jonathan...there is no sun over the horizon...I can't find any
reason not to worry.

Before I begin, I would like to state that this log is NOT a hoax.
Everything accounted in it is true. Nothing was changed.
Several days ago, I was possessed by several terran spirits from earth's
past. I was fully conscious all the time, except the spirits would not allow
me to control my body. They walked around and did with me what they pleased.
Luckily, none of it was gruesome, or something which I would regret later on.
They just pretty much acted like they did in their life. The spirits I was
possessed by were: Julius Ceasar; a famous Roman war general who became power
hungry, Abraham Lincoln; a president of
The United States of America who was in office during the civil war of The
United States, John F. Kennedy; the youngest president ever of The United
States, and Kurt Cobain; the leader of the famous rock and roll band Nirvana.
It should be noted the excluding the latter, all of them were assassinated.
Kurt Cobain committed suicide.
Throughout the entire time I was possessed, they would run around saying
things they said in the past, until they exclaimed "UGH I'VE BEEN SHOT (or in
Ceasars case knived), at which point a different spirit would take over.
Eventually, they just disappeared from my mind, and I was in control again.
The rest of the crew was taken over by other spirits from terran history.
They were all freed about the same time as I was. No one knows why we were
all taken over, or why the ghosts suddenly left. Further research is being
done.
After we were all free, I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant (Junior
Grade), from the rank of Ensign. I am very thankful for this promotion, and
will continue to do my best for the federation until the day I die.

This may not seem believable, but several days ago, I was possessed by
the spirits of ancient terrans. I was conscious the entire time, but I was
unable to control any of my actions. I later found out that I was possessed
by a famous military leader from ancient rome, two presidents of the United
States of America, and a famous rock and roll star, talk about crazy! I'm
doing fine now, but I'm still not sure why that happened, or if it will ever
happen again...
After the spirits were banished, I was promoted to a Junior Grade
Lieutenant! I am very happy with this. I will continue to do the best I can
for the federation. I hope I can continue serving it faithfully for years to
come.
Lately I've been getting the feeling that someone is following me around.
It feels like someone is alwayswatching me. Sometimes I think I see
something, sort of like a shadow, out of the corner of my eye. But when I
turn to take a look, there is nothing there. Every once and a while, when no
one is around, I hear noises like footsteps, and breathing. But I can find
no one. This is very odd, but it might just be my immagination. I'd better
remain alert, just the same.

A small group is assembled in the Ready Room... Commander Phar, Lieutenant
Commander Jantak, Lieutenant Commander Adria, First Lieutenant Kyle Harris,
Lieutenant Serr J, First Lieutenant Smitty and Lieutenant Sean.
>Phar :: Standing at the head of the table :: I have received a communication
from Starfleet High Command... :: Looking down at the table :: It is as we
expected. During our diversion to Malenta, warfare has erupted along the
Neutral Zone. The neighboring planets of IRIAN II and TELNATH IV have
resumed.
>Phar :: Activating the holographic imager in the center of the conference
table :: As you can see... the proximity of these planets makes troop
transport very easy. The *rights of ownership* over them, has been a source
of disagreement between these people for a millenium.
>Sean :: Clearing his throat :: Excuse me Commander, do we have information
on the extent of troop involvement? And the focal points of the
*insurgence*?
>Phar :: Nodding :: Yes, Lieutenant... :: Tapping a key on the computer
console... the three dimensional image at the center of the table changes to
reflect a closer view of a jungle territory :: This is the principle location
of the ground troops... TELNATH IV. The terrain and the foliage will make
our efforts more difficult. Our initial intelligence reports indicate that
there are 20,000 military personnel engaged in this region. The fighting was
focused in this woodland area as a result of a
massive attack on the Capitol city of Raquii... :: Turning to Adria :: This
is where your team will come in...
>Adria :: Raising an eyebrow :: My team?
>Phar: The Capitol city was attacked using a form of chemical weaponry that
is not native to the populations of either world. There are survivors that
are in immediate need of medical care... and... ::pausing:: We need to know
the *source* of the chemical weapon. Speculation has been offerred that the
weapon used was of Romulan design... I believe that you know the implications
involved...
All eyes turn to Adria... waiting for her answer...
>Adria :: Pausing for a moment... reflecting on the implications :: I
understand. The proximity of these worlds to the Neutral Zone and the
arrival of technology that isn't native to the indigenous populations, may
mean that the Star Empire has violated the Treaty of Peace.
>JanTak : Commander... What is the status of Telnath IV and Irian II? Are
they still members of the Federation Alliance?
>Phar : Yes. Both worlds reluctantly entered into the *Alliance*, stardate
8810.31. It was the *hoped* that by signing the Alliance and joining the
Federation of Planets, they would set aside their personal disputes and find
common ground. That effort has not been successful. Members of a Federation
Peacekeeping Force have been on assignment in Raquii since stardate 9501.25.
>Smitty:: Standing up :: You mean that Federation personnel were killed in
the attack on the Capitol? And that the Star Empire could be the source?
::Frowning:: What are our *allowances* on the use of military intervention?
TBC
[Return to Archives | Return to Listing ]
General discussion and outrage at the implications of the Romulans violating
the Peace Treaty erupt across the table...
>Phar :: Holding up her hands :: Hold... We do not know the details yet.
Our mission will involve all of our abilities... including our ability to
operate with diplomacy. Until we can confirm, with undeniable evidence, that
the Star Empire is involved... we are not to take any *offensive* postures...
>Smitty: You mean our hands are tied... are we going into this without
authorization for military invervention?
>Phar ::Sighing:: Not exactly... We need to deploy our Medical personnel to
the Capitol city to treat the injured.. :: a small smile appearing on her
face :: the fact that some of the *Medical* personnel will actually be from
our Science department doesn't need to be mentioned outside of our briefings.
>Serr J :: Raising an eyebrow :: Do I take it... that we are to identify the
source of the chemical weapon?
>Phar :: Nodding :: You will work in conjunction with Commander Adria's
team... use all of your expertise to define the scope of the weapon... the
possible limitations of the weapon... and to :: smiling :: covertly retrieve
any artifacts that may be available.
>Serr J : Understood.
>Sean: Commander... What about the ground forces in the jungle?
>Phar :: Smiling :: I am glad that you asked that Lieutenant. I believe that
you are the most qualified person to lead a team into the region. We need to
assertain whether there is any... shall we say, external influences occuring.
>Sean :: His brow wrinkling :: So our mission is to locate the command posts
of both troops... tap into their communications networks and establish
whether or not they are receiving any assistance from the... Romulans... ::
pausing :: or any other source?
>Phar: That is exactly your mission. You will be assembling your team, once
we establish orbit at Telnath IV. ::Taking a deep breath:: That is alot of
ground to cover Lieutenant... you may need some additional equipment to
assist in your efforts. Our resources are at your disposal.
>Smitty: This whole operation sounds like something for my team... What did
you have in mind for us Commander?
>Phar : We have received some civilian reports of increased military traffic
along the Neutral Zone. We will need to scout out this traffic... ::looking
at the personnel assembled:: ...it may require that you briefly enter the
Neutral Zone. I know that this could be considered an act of war... So, I am
relying upon your ability to operate without detection. ::Looking intently at
the Covert Ops Manager:: Identify the volume of military traffic and if
possible... retrieve information on their activities.
>Smitty: And my team?
>Phar :: Sighing :: I am reluctant to assign this task to Jana... in light of
your relationship. But, I believe that this mission will require her level
headed thinking. I am also assigning First Lieutenant Kyle Harris to your
team. I believe that you will find his engineering skills to be a valuable
asset, should you need to transport onto a vessel and retrieve computer
files...
Everyone looks up as First Lieutenant Kevin Sheridan enters the Ready Room...
He walks to a vacant seat... nods to Phar and then takes his place.
>Phar : Mr. Sheridan... I take it that your mission was successful?
>Kevin: Yes, Commander. I have prepared the communications bouys... and I
have alerted the MAC team... to stand by for deployment.
>Phar: Very good. I believe that we are prepared... Please see to your
department preparations... :: glancing at the chronometer :: We will
rendezvous again at 21:00 hrs.... Dismissed.

MISSION OBJECTIVES:
1.) Provide emergency medical assistance to personnel in the Capitol city of
Raquii. The option of transporting injured personnel to the Stealth is
available. Due to the nature of the weapon used... Biosuits are recommended.
We need to ascertain the scope of the chemical warfare used. Identify the
strengths and weakness of the chemical agent. (Medical Team)
2.) Retrieve any *artifacts* of the weapon used on the Capitol and transport
them for analysis. We need complete tricorder reports on the size, scope and
deployment capabilities of the weapon. Any information relating to the
source of the weapon, should be handled in a *secure* fashion. (Science Team)
3.) Locate, infiltrate and observe ground troop activities in the jungle
region. In order to identify the strategic capability of each army, both
command posts will need to be monitered. Ascertain whether there is any
*external* influences participating in this war. Look for weaponry that is
not consistent with the known technology of the populus. (Tactical Team)
4.) Reconn the Neutral Zone and identify the traffic patterns. This mission
will require cloaked and covert activities. We need to identify the scope
and the nature of the military traffic... if possible, obtain documentation
supporting the missions and/or destinations of the Romulan Fleet. (Covert Ops
Team)
5.) Protect all land teams from attack measures. Although, there has been a
temporary cease fire called for... fighting continues in many locations. We
must have the ability to protect our personnel and remove them from possible
harm. In the event that an airstrike is initiated... the MAC squadron will
be on stand by alert.

CURRENT STATUS:
We are in standard orbit around Telnath IV, under Yellow Alert. Two members
of the Medical team remain on the planet's surface and we are making
provisions for their evacuation. Initial reports indicate an active Romulan
*presence* in the immediate region.
MISSION OBJECTIVES:
1.) Provide emergency Medical assistance to the populus of Raquii and
evacuate Starfleet personnel as deemed necessary. STATUS REPORT: Initial
reports and tricorder uplinks indicate that the chemical weapons utilized on
the Capitol city are more extensive than previously imagined. A biohazard
still exists and Lieutenant Commander Adria and Lieutenant (junior grade)
Bones remain on the planet's surface, due to possible contamination.
Provisions for their return are being executed. A bio-hazard
containment field is being established in shuttlebay 2. It will be
provisioned with a replicator, medical and science laboratory equipment and
non-replicable pharmacuetical supplies. The Medical team will be transported
directly to quarantine upon their return. RECOMMENDATION: I would like to
take this opportunity to recommend Lieutenant Commander Adria Keyshar for the
ANASTAS MEDAL OF ACHIEVEMENT. This recommendation will be forwarded to
Captain Putz for review. This medal is named for the first
female Starship Captain, is awarded to a female officer of executive command
rank or higher who has demonstrated superior skill and expertise while facing
extreme hazard.
<< The Anastas Medal is a plantinum disk showing prinicipal representatives
of the Federation with hands joined. Under tehm in gold is the inscription,
"Achieve Together". The Anastas Medal of Achievement hangs from an
aquamarine ribbon.>>
I would also like to recommend that a notation be made in the personnel
records regarding the bravery of Lieutenant (junior grade) Bones for
volunteering to remain in a hazardous situation. Thereby demonstrating
heroism in support of the Federation and her Commanding officer.

CURRENT STATUS:
We are maintaining a standard orbit around Telnath IV. Yellow Alert has been
initiated and we remain cloaked against detection. Reports from the Away
Teams have confirmed our *intelligence* briefings.
MISSION OBJECTIVES:
1.) Retrieve artifacts relating to the chemical weapon used on the Capitol
and transport them for analysis.
STATUS REPORT: Portions of the deployment mechanism and samples of the
*bio-hazardous materials* were retrieved and transported onboard for further
analysis. Lieutenant (junior grade) Serr J and Lieutenant (junior grade)
Tora, our Chief Science Officers, have formulated some hypotheses regarding
the weapon used on the civilians and Starfleet personnel located in Raquii.
Initial reports indicate that this could be a very *lethal* and indescrimant
killer.
RECOMMENDATIONS: The reports and analysis of the weapon will be forwarded to

Mission Debriefing
Stardate 9610.03
Commander Angel Phar
USS Stealth NCC 1414b
CURRENT STATUS:
Yellow Alert status remains... Cloaking was initiated at 21:20 hrs, Stardate
9610.02. Emission trail scans indicate that we are running silent with
minimum residual particulates. Our presence is undetected.
MISSION OBJECTIVES:
3.) Locate, infiltrate and observe ground troop activities on Telnath IV.
Ascertain whether there is any *external* influences participating in this
war.
STATUS REPORT: Tricoder reports indicate that the weaponry being utilized is
NOT indigenous to either population. Further investigation revealed a
Romulan base of operations within the militarized zone. Detailed
specifications of the Romulan base were recorded at great to the away team.
One officer was injured in the line of duty. First Lieutenant Kevin Sheridan
received a phaser laceration in an exchange with Romulan agents. The
information obtained from this mission provides undeniable proof of
Romulan intervention in this war.
RECOMMENDATIONS: A complete report of the Romulan Base will be forwarded to
Admiral HyRisk. For exceptional performance in the line of duty, I recommend
the promotion of Lieutenant Sean, to the Starfleet rank of First Lieutenant,
with all rights, priviledges and responsibilities of that office. I would
also recommend that First Lieutenant Kevin Sheridan receive a Purple Heart
for his injuries sustained in the battle of Telnath IV, and his selfless
determination to complete his mission under dangerous
conditions.

Stardate 9610.03
Commander Angel Phar
USS Stealth NCC 1414b
CURRENT STATUS: Sensors have confirmed the presence of a Romulan
Ambassadorial Transport entering orbit. Particulate Emissions remain
minimal... we have initiated impulse power to establish a polar orbit to
further conceal our presence. The Medical Team has been alerted to this new
development and is preparing for evacuation.
MISSION OBJECTIVES:
4.) Reconn the Neutral Zone and identify the traffic patterns, utilizing the
new *Sleds*.
STATUS REPORT: Deployment of the *sleds* occurred without incident. Minor
interuptions in communication links occurred when cloaking abilities were
initiated. Four *sleds* were deployed and all four returned safely to the
Stealth. Scanning reports from the units indicate a large volume of civilian
as well as military transit occurring within the Neutral Zone. Multiple
Romulan Warbirds were seen heading on an intercept course with Telnak IV.
Currently an Ambassadorial Transport, of Romulan design
has entered orbit. Hypothesis: The Romulans have planned to declare
military rule of the planet and have sent personnel to secure the Government.
First Lieutenant Smitty headed the reconn team and I await further analysis.
RECOMMENDATION: Pending Mr. Smitty's report, I would recommend retreat from
this system. We are currently outnumbered and have entered into a military
operation. It is evident that the Romulans have violated the Terms of the
Treaty of Peace and the reports of: First Lieutenant Smitty, Lieutenant
NCC1414, Lieutenant (junior grade) Jana and First Lieutenant Kyle Harris will
be forwarded to Starfleet High Command.

I'm afrain the Federation has plunged into yet another war. This time
the Romulans have taken a stronghold on one of the planets across their side
of the Nuetral Zone. Even though we were successful in invading the Romulans
Outpost/Fortress I'm afraid there isn't anything the USS Stealth can do right
now by its lonesome. We may be forced to call in reinforcements to matcth the
Romulan opposition that is growning in this sector.
On another note, I would like to record the remarkability with which my
division handled their missions. Each completed thier tasks with different
degrees of success. In other words we did what we were supposed to and got
out with out causing to much damage. However, when I was investigating the
Romulan outpost. I discovered they were making an attempt at constructing a
gateway (You know that funky little thing from that DS9 episode.). However, I
took Lt Sean's remaining plasma grenades and left
them to denote the Romulans' efforts. If I was successful only time shall
tell.

^^v^^start log^^v^^ ::beep::
The Medical team and the Science team met in the transporter room. With a
few groans, we put on out bio suits, and beamed down to the virus infected
planet.
There were sick or dying people everywhere. Some looked half-starved,
others had the look of horror on their faces when they realized that the
world was going to end for them. A mob noticed us, and we frantically hypoed
them so they wouldn't get in the way of our work. After hours of scanning
and running tests, I realized that one man had an acute case of this
biological weapon. I scanned him intently, and soon, I noticed worm-like
creatures eating this man from the inside out. As I studied it
further, the man's cheast exploded, worms crawling out from the inside. We
soon discovered this is how the parasite-like virus spreads. I fought down
the feeling of nausea, and continued to work. At one point, Lieutenant
Commander Adria's suit tore, and she was infected by the virus. She took off
her suit, claiming that it couldn't do her any worse. I noticed a little
girl, eating a piece of meat. The meat was crawling with these worm-like
creatures. I tried to take it away from her, but she
would not give it up. Finally, I just hypoed her, and Bones took the meat
as a sample. Later, a young boy jumped on my suit, weakening the containment
field. I got him off, but this virus was attracted to the scent of flesh.
Luckily, they could not chew through the rest of the way through my suit.
After taking many samples, we were getting ready to leave. Adria decided to
stay on the planet. Bones refused to leave without her. They both stayed.
Ever since, Tora, Serr, and I have been working hard to find a cure.

Well, we went down to the capital city oof Raquii today to help with the
ingered personel resulting from a new biological wepon. We've been here
almost twenty-four hours and we still know very little about the virus. One
thing we do know is how it spreads, parasites, wich must depend on a living
host to survive, will, as soon as the host body has expired, work their way
threw the chest cavity and abdominal wall releasing themselves into the
aptnosphere just long enough to find another host. Upon
autopsies of the victums we have found increasing evidence that the
parasites, use the body as a breeding ground, in wich they can multiply,
these parasites breed incredibly fast, however, their lifespan does not exeed
more than a few minuets, consequently, the parasites coming from the deseaced
victums are actually decendants of the ones that contaminated the patients by
at least fifteen generations. Because of this, they often mutate, or,
"evolve" each time they make a cicle. This fact makes them
exceptionally hard to treat, because each time a patient is contaminated,
even if you found a way to stop that one parasite, there would've been four
more different generations. Symtems in patients range from rashes, severe
lesions on the skin, tremors and in more advanced cases sesures, extreemly
high fever, nausia, dehydration, increase of appitite, and close to death the
symtems become far more serious, and painful in most cases, coughing up
blood, vomiting, in some patients thrombosis (blood clots)
may occur, also blindness, severe nerve damage, paralisis, ect.Death usually
occurs within 72-96 hours of contamination.
On a personal note, my helmet was ripped off, and I was
contaminated, therefore I have elected to remain on the planet, Ltjg Bones
has elected to remain with me, dispite having to remain in a bio suit. I feel
confident that we can find a cure...at least... I hope. I am already
exibiting the first signs of infection, ::sigh:: I hope Jal, Tora and SerrJ
are having more luck than we are, Adria out.
[Return to Archives | Return to Listing ]
Adria stood back up after treating yet another patient and stretched, she
looked over at Bones who was still stuck in that stupid bio suit, she began
to think that it might have been a better idea if she had made Bones go back
to the ship, but now it was to late, and her symptems had been getting worse.
She had finally come to the realization that they might not find a cure, and
she could die, and though it might have been selfish, she was glad not to
have to die alone. She had begun thinking about
everything, even made a message, just in case. Adria hadnt slept much, and
as it was her hands had started shaking from the parasites, and Bones
suggested she should get some sleep, so she layed down on one of the cotts
that had been beamed down. She closed her eyes and layed still for awhile, but
couldnt sleep, so she lay awake, and then she thought about Jonny, it was
funny, so ironic you never seem to know what you have until there is a
possibility of loosing it. Bones remained ever hopeful, always
reassuring her that they would find a cure, she would have to remember to
put Bones in for a comandation. She decided she had tried to sleep for long
enough, she got back up and returned to the treatment room dispite Bones's
objections.
[Return to Archives | Return to Listing ]
Adria and Bones laid back on bio beds still in quarentien, the treatment was
being slowly administered and their symtems were starting to disapearing.
They watched as the medication dripped from the bottles that hung above their
heads into their bodies. They both wondered how and when they had goten back
on board, but niether cared. Bones looked more drowsy than Adria, probably
from the lack of sleep on the planet. They both were startled by the opening
of a door. They looked up to see Jal, Tora and SerrJ
coming in in bio suits.
<Adria looked up and asked,> "how much longer in quarentien?"
<Jal answered with a smile,> "two more and you're home free,"
<Bones looked up,> "how did you find the cure?"
<Tora> Oh dont worry, we'll have a full report for you guys as soon as you
get back on duty,
<Bones> ::nods::
<SerrJ> welp, we've got work to do, we'll see you guys in a couple of hours
<Adria>::frowns not used to being the patient::
::two hours latter::
Adria and Bones sat wide awake as they waited to be released.
<Adria> I'll see your ten and raise you five,
<Bones> Call,
Jal, Tora and SerrJ came walking in, minues the bio suits.
<SerrJ> ok guys you're free to go,
<Bones> good, bye, ::tosses cards back under the deck and runs out::

Today marks the first day in a new beginning for the USS Stealth. New
orders from Starbase 25 indicate that our primary mission will now be one of
peaceful exploration and first contact. Not that this mission is an major
difference in that of other Starfleet mission except that we will be carrying
out our new mission in the Beta Quadrant. Close to Romulan and Klingon
territory, a little too close for personal comfort. It's going to be hard to
carry out a peaceful mission with the Romulans and
Klingons breathing down our necks every step of the way. We may have to look
into installing a cloaking device if we don't have one already. It would
probably make passage through deep space in the Beta Quadrant easier and much
safer.
With our new assignment our ship's departments and staffing will
probably be going under heavy changes. Hopefully I'll get some new ensigns in
my department to fill all of the vancant spots. Luckily, we have a new
helmsman and mission specialist. A small step in refilling Division III.
Week 7 upon my transfer back to the USS Stealth and all goes well. Even
with the heavy changes in command which have been going on recently still
seems to not have affected the way this crew works like clockwork. It's
amazing how impressive it is. I must say it's deffinately good to be back on
familiar ground.

As the rest of the crew enjoyed R&R, I stayed onboard to complete the task
of intergrating
a new panel of my own design to aid me in evaluating new contacts for their
value to the
Federation. In the panel I added the major components needed in making the
evaluation.
They are Technology, Population, Resorces, and Utilization of the
aforementioned three.
Beyond those, I am dependent on reports from away teams as to the condition
of the planet
and its' people.
When I had finished with the new upgrade to my station, a recall of the
crew was issued.
My captain was surprized to find me onboard. I immediately began to bring the
ship to full
readyness for departure. After that I sat back and began test on my new
system.
It will be strange to be on the bridge for a change. I have grown accustom

that my background in advanced ground attack will stand me in good sted if I
find myself on an away mission in the
near future. Tonight I will begin a series of training exercises in the
holodeck formed around first contact protocol
and the prime directive. I have programed them to be both historical and
interactive in random settings, drawing on
the experience of the great captains of the fleet. These include Captain
Pike, Kirk, Picard and dozens of others.
The conclusions will be arrived at by my input to the situations. Information
will be provided directly by the log

realistic conditions. I believe this will be the
best route to prepare for my new position.

MISSION LOG:
StarDate: 9610.23
USS Stealth
Commander Scott S. Zier
My First day as XO of the USS Stealth proved to be interesting, to say the
least. From what I gathered, after I arrived the Stealth made way on a
patrol. Apparently, on the patrol Stealth encountered a very large ship. The
ships mass is roughly 4 times that of Stealth. The ship sent out a invitation
to the crew to come aboard. All other comunications and scans of the ship
were blocked, thus we had no knowlage of her tactical systems or technology.
In a meeting the Captian gave the order to form 2
awayteams to send over as a delegation. He seemed fairly set on the idea.
About that time the captian became severly ill, <with the "punting" syndrome
I think :) > and I was forced to assume command. Following the Capt's last
orders I desided to send the awayteam over. However I desided to sent only a
single team over in a shuttle, in case the ship was a trap the team would be
able to get beck to Stealth via shuttle, rather then having them traped by
the ship raising shields. As my knowlge of the crew
was still very limited, I gave FstLt Smitty the task of assembling a team.
He did very well, and first contact was made with a single alien on the ship.
Several others of this new race were found in a chro-sleep chamber. The race
appears to be looking for a new home...a new world to live on. Weather or not
we contenue to help this alien remains to be desided by the Capt. At present
I have ordered Stealth to hold position along side of the alien ship, and
have ordered all officers to return to Stealth
pending orders from the Captian.
Final Notes:
I want to make special mention of the entire crew on the record. They all did
a exallent job of carrying out thier dutys. They did very well considering
thier Captian was out and thier Commander did yet not know anything about the
crew or ship. It is the sign of a great crew, when it can run by itself in
emergencys. Good work.

The crew was given shore-leave on Starbase Twenty Five. Tora had some
wacked idea about going to the holodeck. After some arguing, I was saved by
the bell. First Lieutenant Sean had fallen from 150 feet, and needed medical
attention. After watching Bones leave with Kyle, and Tora leave with Kevin,
I ran to help Sean. If I wasn't so grateful about not going to the holodeck,
I might have done something smarter, like transport to Sean's position.
Prophets only know why I didn't.
When I arrive, it seemed that the Sean had fractured some ribs and had
internal bleeding. I called for additional medics and an anti-grav unit
before Sean was rushed to Sickbay.
After healing the wounds, I informed him that he should stay and rest.
::making a sour face:: As always, my higher ranking comrade refused to stay
and went back to his duty or whatever shore-leave plans he had. I went back
to my quarters, leaving Sickbay relatively unmanned.
After resting for no more than 5 minutes, the computer informed me that
someone was making an emergency call to Sickbay. After finding out that the
captain had collapsed, I transported to his location.
Some admiral was there, and surprisingly enough, he didn't seem to all that
care for the captain's health. Which angered me quite a bit. Prophets curse
such a wretched soul.
When the captain came to, I informed him that he should rest in Sickbay.
Once again, my patient has a lack for staying still. Standing there without
a patient left me to wonder whether or not I should confine certain peoples
to Sickbay. But before I could decide, the captain announced that
shore-leave was over and we should return to our stations. That made me
laugh, for it seemed like I never went on shore-leave. I headed towards
Sickbay.
I talked to Bones for a bit. It seems she and Kyle patched things up. Gee,
maybe I should start planning a wedding shower. ::grins:: We stop talking
when the captain started speaking over the ship-wide comm. Apperantly, we
are headed towards the Beta Quadrant. I can only hope the Prophets will
protect this ship and it's crew.
Well, it would seem now that First Lieutenant Smitty is our second officer,
and Lieutenant Jana is our new counselor. ::grins:: It also seems that
Bones and I have been promoted to lieutenants. ::looks at the log on the
monitor:: Hmm . . . I think I've talked enough for one day. Computer, end

I am recording this log into my tricorder until I have a chance to return to
the Stealth and use a data dump to put all this into the main computer.
It started out as a routine shift. The Stealth went on exploring the Beta
Quadrant. A ship suddenly appeared. It was shielded against our scans,
which lead people to believe that it was hostile. Smitty decided to take an
away team.
We took a shuttle and docked in the ship. Soon we ran into one of the
aliens. Totally harmless. We had a hard time understanding it, because the
Universal Translator was having a hard time with thier language. Jana tried
telepathic communication.
He took us to his comrade. Frozen in stasis. Right now he's trying to
explain who/what/when/where/why/how and all those things. It's hard to
understand; like I said, the Universal Translator was having a hard time. I
wish I had some medical records on these people that I could get a hold of.

MISSION BRIEFING
Wedsday 9pm EST (Orbital Velocity - NAGF)
The Science Vessel USS Forrestal has arrived to escourt our new friends
to a habitable world. Forrestal has been ordered to further the federation's
diplomatic relation with this new species.
While resuming our exploration of the beta quadrent, Stealth has been
ordered to meet with a "civilian" exploration ship. The civilian ship, the
SS Sparrow, is badly in need of supplys. Sparrow is only a small ship about
1/4 the size of a intrepid class, with a crew of 12. To be honest, she is not
equiped to be this far out in space. The SS Sparrow is funded by the Dalton
Institute on earth. The Institute clams that Sparrow is fully equiped for
this exploration, but they lack the funding to send
her new supplys. StarFleet has agreed to have us deliver just the bare
nessesitys to the crew. At my request, specs and the crew roster have been
sent by the Dalton Institute. I want tactical, and security to look it over.
The Dalton Institute has not had the best reputation over the past few years,
and I want to make sure everything is on the up and up with this operation.

No sooner had the Stealth approached the Beta Quadrant, that a vessel of
unknown origin was detected by the ships sensors. While the bridge crew
attempted to gain as much information from the data banks, I was busy paying
a visit to my old stomping grounds, the Medical Department. I can still
remember my first day on the Stealth. I had heard alot about Fst Lt Adria,
but I what I hadn't heard was her gender. Gosh, that was one of my most
embarrassing moments. However, just as I arrived and got
comfortable on a bio-bed, I was called to the Observation Lounge.
"Its just as well Lieutenant," said Jal, "because I was going to ask you
to not lay on the bed anyways." and she smiled politely.
"Oh, so that's how it is around here? Well I guess I'll have to come back
and pester you some more then, wont I? retorted the First Lieutenant.
"Hello Lieutenant!" exclaimed Bones from across the room as Smitty was
heading out the Sick Bay doors.
"I'll have to talk to ya later on Bones, see ya."
And with that, I left sick bay and headed for the Observation lounge. I
entered the OL late, which is very unlike me, and tip toed to my seat. I
knew it was my seat because it said "Second Officer Only" on it. Anyways, I
found out that the ship had encountered an unknown vessel and two away teams
were to be assembled to go investigate it. I was to lead one of them and
CdrZeil was to lead the other. This changed when an important StarFleet
Communique was recieved for the Captain. I couldn't have
imagined that the message was good news because Putz left the OL rather
suddenly. It was assumed that the new Commander would remain aboard the ship
in Jonny's absence, which left me in charge of the only away team to be
going.
I took with me Lt Jana, LtJal and FstKevin, in a shuttle and headed for
the mysterious ship, for which we had no information on whatsoever. After
carefully maneuvering the shuttle close to the unshielded ship, a shuttle
door opened for us as though we were being expected. The shuttlecraft landed
on a docking pad of some sort, and the away team disembarked.
We prepared ourselves for an encounter and made our way through the
airlock door, which led to a cooridoor. Only moments after our investigation
began, we discovered an alien lifeform ahead of us, and approching. The
counselor did not detect any threat from the being, and so we lowered our
weapons. After the introductions, we were invited to follow it down the
hallway to another section of the ship.
At current, all of our actions have been reported back to Commander Zier, and
we will be remaining aboard the alien vessel to continue our investigation.

F Lieutenant Smitty
SD 9610.28
By order of Commander Zier, I and my away team have returned to the Stealth.
I have heard that Captain Putz has had some personal problems that Star Fleet
deamed necessary for him to attend to right away. I sure hope Commander Zier
is up to the challenge of command so soon after becomming the ships Executive
Officer.
I have learned something during our encounter with this alien race, that I
think will prove invaluable to the crew, so I am including it in this Log.
*During the meeting in the observation lounge, after Capt Putz was called
away, Commander Zier took over the briefing and he finally decided that I
would be taking an away team to visit the alien vessel. I was quite suprised
to hear him order us to use a shuttlecraft, as appose to transporters. With
the aliens' shields nonoperative, I personally felt that utilizing the
transporter would make for a quicker entry and exit. It was then that I
learned, that to be an effective communicator, you do not

learn to deal with thier differences of opinion.
After I returned to the ship and dismissed the away team to report to their
respective department heads, I made my way to the Captains ready room.
::door chime::
"Come in." said the acting Captain from inside the ready room.
"Commander, the away team has arrived safely and is now reporting to their
departments. Is there anything else Sir?" Smitty said respectfully.
"No Mr Smitty, that will be all. Oh, wait...one thing before you leave."
said Commander Zier.
"Yes, Sir?" Smitty was hoping the Commander had forgotten how he'd
disagreed with his decision to use a shuttle craft.
"I would like you to begin an evaluation of the crew in Division I, and
submit a report on all the candidates up for promotion." came the Commander's
request.
"Yes Sir. I'll begin right away." Smitty replied, still hoping the
Commander wasn't going to bring up the meeting in the Observation Lounge.

"Whew!!," Smitty exclaims as he reaches the bridge just in time to hear
Commander Zier say, "Engage." Smitty looks over at the acting Captain with
an "I"m sorry," kinda look.
"Sorry Sir, but I ::enthusiastically:: really like being on the bridge for
the *Engage* part," Smitty tries as hard as he can to hide a grin. And with
that, the Commander simply returns the statement made by the Second Officer,
by cocking his brow.
With a comical, but yet sarcastic tone, Tyven looks over to the third in
command, and exclaims,
"Mr Smitty, please, if you feel you can tear, yourself ::pauses::...away
from the bridge, I would like you to head to cargo bay 3, and begin
preparations to have
the "bare necessities" sent over to the Sparrow."
With all the excitement of a 10 year old child at the circus, the Smitster,
rises from his chair, if he has one, and heads to the port side turbo lift,
and enters as the doors open. "Deck 12," he orders, and with a whoosh, the
TL takes off.

After a somewhat less than enjoyable shorleave on Starbase 25, I found
myself in my quarters, sitting at my desk creating a new log and journal file
under the title of First Lieutenant Smitty, Second Officer. It is a
difficult challenge to be among the top 3 officers on the fleets vice-flag
ship, but one that I will nontheless attck with confidence. ::personal
thought:: there is no doubt in my mind, that there were other
officer.....my senior.........that could have also filled the tremendous
resposnsibilities required by a second officer, and I seek nothing more than
to aquire they're utmost confidence in my ability to function not only as
they're Second Officer, but as they're
friend too. For "..an officer should broaden his knowledge *with* and
*through* others. He should also correct and complete his experience through
the experience of others."
I feel that the confidence I place in my ability to succeed as Second
Officer, will enable me to place even more confidence in those who serve
under me, because "...confidence placed in another, often compels confidence
in return."
After initializing my new log and journal file in the ships database, I
headed for the bridge to join Captain Putz and Lieutenant Commander Tyven for
undocking procedures. I stood tall and proud, only moments later to shed a
tear at the thought of how I came to be where I was. As the order, "ahead
1/4 impulse.." was given, I took a few paces forward and found myself
standing at the foot of the main view screen, once again drifting in my mind.
I began to get vivid flashbacks of the more serious
times in my life. Finally, at the end of memory lane, I began wondering
what lay ahead. I was aware, as were the rest of the crew, that this would,
in all likliness, be the last scheduled time we would even see a Federation
Starbase for quite some time. I was suddenly brought out of my daydream
state by Captain Putz suprising remark, "Mr Smitty, your blocking the view!!"

...after standard docking procedures were completed, the Stealth crew was
released to a short shore leave aboard SB 25. As the rest of the crew made
their way through the airlock, off the ship and onto the SB, I was called to
a meeting with Captain Putz, Lt Ripper and Commander Tyven. The meeting
lasted only a short while, but at it's end, I found out about a couple of
changes that the Stealth would be going through.
Firstly, our primary mission would change from exploratory to first
contact. Lt Ripper would be in charge of the majority of the First Contact
Diplomatic procedures. A new, fuller analysis would be perfomed, as well as a
psychological profile on each new race we encounter, (this being done by the
Sociology Department). Among the other changes to affect the Stealth, a new
Sociology Department would be started to deal with the follow up dealings
with newly encountered peoples/races. Lieutenant Jana
T'ora would be the Chief Counselor and head up the Sociology Department as
well.
Also, the Stealth would be fitted with a more advanced array of sensors,
which I have yet to examine, and would provide an increase in sensor range.
Second, our communications transponder would also be upgraded to include a
frequency modulator, which would prevent it from being intercepted and
decyphered. The extent of the Stealths' improvments have yet to be
calculated by the ships engineering, science, security, tactical and medical
departments, which leaves the heads of those departments
something to do. I look forward to reading the summarization reports from
them.
Shore leave was over, and I headed back to the ship. I didn't get to
spend very much time with my family, which I have every intention of making
up for as soon as time permits. My lack of family time was due to my
friendship with Commander Tyven. I have been aware of his present social
condition, but left in the dark, as it were, to his psychological condition.
His choice, no doubt. I have succeeded in getting through to him, somewhat,
but feel there is still more he will not tell me. I know
that my mental ability does not compare to his, but I shall strive to be
there, with him, through as much as he'll allow.
I must now turn my attention to that of the Stealth. New improvments are
to be made, and I must make it my duty to see to their initial diagnosis and
test runs. There is no telling what awaits us out in the deepest part of the
unexplored galaxy. But I am sure that this crew, tho diverse and
individually competent, will manage to insure the safety and preservation of
the Prime Directive.

CONCURRED, I IMMEDIATELY REQUESTED A MEETING WITH THE CAPTAIN. I EXPLAINED
THAT THE BRIEFING I SENT HIM, WAS IN FACT, CONGRUENT, WITH THE REPORTS GIVEN
TO ME BY THE REST OF THE DEPARTMENT. I REQUESTED PERMISSION TO TAKE A TEAM
BACK OUT TO THE NEUTRAL ZONE, AND ATTEMPT TO BOARD THE VIP TRANSPORT

ONCE ON BOARD, MY TEAM AND I CAN ATTEMPT TO LOCATE ANY TRACE OF EITHER MERET

I HAVE SOME THEORIES, AND AMONG MY CONCLUSIONS, WAS THE THOUGHT THAT WE WOULD
FIND LEGET MERET ABOARD THAT VESSEL, HOPEFULLY ALIVE. BUT VERY DOUBTFUL. I
HAVE YET TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THE CHURCHILL IS BEING KEPT. I HAVE ONLY ONE
SUGGESTION AS TO IT'S LOCATION:
I THINK THAT IF WE COVER A LARGE AREA AROUND THAT TRANSPORT WITH A TACHION
BEAM USING THE DEFLECTOR DISH TO MAKE THE BEAM WIDER....WIDE ENOUGH TO COVER
TWO SHIPS......WE MIGHT FIND THE CHURCHILL IN TOW BEHIND THAT TRANSPORT
VESSEL. THAT'S IT! ::GETTING EXCITED:: WHAT BETTER WAY TO HIDE A CAPTURED

::computer, please initiate first duty log for Lieutenant Commander Smitty::
Upon reaching the last known coordinates of the USS Sparrow, I was called to
be part of Commander Tyven's away team, along with Bones and Gar. I was told
that there didn't appear to be any lifesigns on board the vessel, which I
must admit, got the better of my curiosity.
Tyven, Bones, Gar and I arrived on the bridge of the Sparrow, only to find it
completely shut down, save minimal life support. I first decided to inspect
what appeared to be the Captains ready room, hoping to find any last minute
logs, journal entries, etc, but turned out to be nothing more than a small
lounge for the bridge crew. While I was in there, and only for a moment, I
got the strange feeling that death had passed through the room. I ignored it
soon after, and was asked by Cdr Tyven to inspect
the engineering station on the bridge.
I did as I was asked, but found I could do nothing to restore power to the
computer core from the bridge station. My guess was that all of the hardwire
feeds were severed. So, I told Cdr Tyven that I would have to be in main
engineering if I was to have any chance at all of restoring power to the
computer grids. Tyven agreed to my request and off I went.
I immediately made my way to the engineering deck, with Gar beside me, and
found it with no problems. As I suspected, the hardwire matrix had been cut,
and by the looks of it, it was done on purpose and made to look accidental.
I informed the Cdr and told him I would do my best to jumpstart the computer
core. With the help of Gar, I was able to restore aux power through the
emergency pwr generators. Although this was enough power to run the computer
system, it turned out to be a less than adequate
amount of power to translate the information contained inside. Files were
found entered by the ships captain, and referred to someone by the name of
O'Bannon. I myself could not decypher anymore than that, so I contacted Cdr
Tyven and told him what I had found. He ordered me to transfer that batch of
information to the bridges Operations station, and then to return to the
bridge. I complied.
Gar and I wasted no time in returning to the bridge as ordered. Commander
Tyven was able to figure out some of it, and what he could not figure out, we
saved for the Stealth's computers. Soon after, were transported back to the
Stealth.
I have been in the Covert Operations Office for several hours, trying to
determin where and when I might have heard the name "O'Bannon" before. I am
somewhat apprehensive of telling Commander Zier my opinions at this time, so
I will wait a while longer to see what our data banks can come up with.

::All the senior officers and department heads are sitting around the
conference table as Zier enters.::
Zier> Hello everyone. ::nods:: Let's get started. Lt Kevin, your report on
the ion trail.
FstLtKevin> ::standing:: As you may know we detected traces of a ion trail
from a ship that recently passed by this system. The trail is roughly 42
hours old, and from the patterns detected I estimate the ship moved out of
here at about warp 5. We have ploted it's last known course...and it leads
deeper into the Beta Quadrent. ::Kevin sits back down::
Zier> ::nodding:: Thankyou Lt. It is with all probibility that the answers we
are looking for, are on this unknown ship. We have to assume that the crew of
the Sparrow willingly went on board it, or were captured. In both cases our
objective is to find this ship. We will make under way at maxumum warp to
follow the ion trail. It may take several days to reach the ship, so we have
a lot of work to do in the meantime. Lt Tora...
LtTora> Yes sir?
Zier> I want a full report on the chemical substance found by the awayteam.
If it was blocking sensors, I want to know how. You might also want to cross
check your findings with sickbay.
LtTora> Yes sir. I'll get right on it.
Zier> Commander Smitty, I want Security to run a full background check on
this Obannon. Check all files in the USFHQ <it's a folder in NAGF :) > and
give me a full report on whatever you find. See if there are any friends of
his in starfleet that you can contact and ask. If he had any past logs or
reports...dig them up. I want everything you can find.
Smitty> Yes sir, I'll get Security on it right away.
Zier> FstLtKyle, start preping the ship for combat, we are far from
home...and whatever lies ahead is not going to be friendly. Also work with
Commander Tyven and see if you can break any of the past logs for the Sparrow
recorded by the awayteam.
Kyle> ::looking up from a report:: Engineering is ready for action sir, and
I'll start running some drills and tests on all systems.
Tyven> I'll send you what the awayteam recorded Lt, so you can take a hack at
it. ::grins slightly to himself::
Zier> Very good. All right people, lets make this quick, clean, and
profesional. Lets show everyone what the Crew of the Stealth can do. ::Zier
smiles:: Dismissed.
::As everyone exits to thier posts Zier slides back in his chair. Tyven
pauses at the door and looks back at him.::
Tyven> Are you ok sir? ....this is not easy for you is it.
Zier> ::looking at Tyven with what appears to be a half of a smile:: I'll be
fine as soon as things get in desided by high command. It's just a little
rough when the people making desisions don't even know who the are making
them for. But hey...I'll be fine.
Tyven> I tended to think you would be sir. ::grins:: Now lets go solve this
Sparrow mystery.
Zier> ::eyes brighten up:: I'll be right there. Have Mr. Gar plot the
intersept corse along the ion trail and engage at max warp. Oh...and have
LtJana come back in here for a moment.
Tyven> Aye Sir. ::smiles and heads to the bridge::
::As the doors close Zier heares Tyven say "engage" in the distance. Suddenly
the stars outside the viewport fly by in a blaze of light.::

A simply routine supply run has once again been twisted. Upon our
rondezvous with the SS Sparrow we found the ship empty of crew and power
systems shut down. Attempts at accessing the Sparrow's database have proven
successful and we now have valuable data to help acess our current situation.
Sensor sweeps of the area reveal an ion trail that is similar to one of a
shuttlecraft from the SS Sparrow's shuttlebay. However, the trail runs cold
in the atmosphere of the third planet in this solar system.
This could be evidence of a possible crash or the shuttlecraft may have
simply sat down on that planet. Since the planet is Class M it is capable of
supporting life. By computer estimates we have about 42 hours until a Romulan
Warbird enters this area of space.

explained at least a few things. Back on the Stealth, however, we detected an
ion trail that has been identified as a Romulan warbird trail. It leads out
of the system, to the outer atmosphere of a class-M
planet... and just disappears. No debris, no traces of bodies. The trail
ends so suddenly that we were inclined to believe that a warp core breach
destroyed the warbird, but there's no evidence of that. I'm puzzled, to say
the least. And we've picked up another warbird, approaching at high warp.
Looks like we'll find out exactly what this is in...::checks

Mission Briefing
Stardate: Supplemental
Wedsday 9pm EST (Orbital Velocity - NAGF)
The Stealth has just arrived at X3-988, a star deep in the
Beta-quadrant. The system is unexplored and is still named by itĘs initial
survey marker. Sensors have detected that the ion trail we are following
dissipates around the third planet in the system. The planet has been
identified as a possible M-class atmosphere. Long range scans have detected
what appears to be a large ship on the surface of the planet. The ship is
unidentified, but from the power readouts available it is defiantly not
Romulan. In fact it does not match any standard power readings, but is
actually a makeup of several different known power systems. To make matters
worse we have detected two other ships running what appears to be patrols
around the planet. They are defiantly hostile. Scans show them to be a mix of
several different system and ships. They have what appear to be Type 4 phaser
bays, which are standard federation. And yet their engines clearly read as
Romulan. Tyven and myself have made the assumption,
based on evidence, that this might be some kind of pirate base. The question
that pertains to us, is what was the involvement of the Sparrow with this
group. Was the Sparrow only a victim, or was she part of this. And most of
all, where is SparrowĘs crew? I believe that many of the answers will lie
with Mr. Obannon. How his name got on the roster of Sparrow is the first
mystery, as he has been missing from StarFleet for a few months. Hopefully
Smittys report on him will shed new light on this situation.
But for now, we must endeavor to learn more about this operation. And I feel
the only way to do so is to land a covert team on the surface of the third
planet to investigate the ship there, and if he is located, retrieve Mr.
Obannon.
Mission Briefing for Operation:
Using the Patton class runabout that Commander Zier came to Stealth on, the
Battle Ax, the awayteam will leave Stealth and make at best speed for the
planet. In order to cover the Battle Ax, Stealth will decloak and lead the
two defending ships in the system away from the planet. This should allow for
the AT to get to the planet safely. The awayteam will then land at the
location of the surface ship and proceed to investigate the situation.
Stealth will need to hold off the two patrol ships until the AT
returns to the runabout and leaves the planet. The AT members will be chosen
at a later time, prior to the mission.

Mission was successful. The away team successfully piloted a
shuttlecraft through the planet's magnetic poles to avoid detection from the
two patrol vessels we encountered. Upon our landing we infiltrated an outpost
sensors detected upon landing. Scans of the area showed that a magnetic field
eminating from the outpost was what was prohibiting transport to the surface.
There was a degree of difficulty opening the door when our EM pulse failed to
open the door's lock, but then I just set my phaser
rifle on high and vaporized it, problem solved. However, we were ambushed by
a renegade band of terrorists and forced to drop our weapons when Lt. Jal was
held hostage. I'm not sure how it started but Lt. Jal got herself free and we
got into a big fight and in the end we stood victorious.
Nothing much to report on the transwarp experiment. Mostly in part
becuase it's getting off to a slow start. Plans for the experiment have been
approved as well as the project's team. As soon as I can get a promising
schedule pieced together Stage 1 should begin. I already have the simulations
setup and holodeck 3 reserved for authorized expermient personel only.
Hopefully I'll get this project of the ground and in the air sometime next

The Stealth recently arrived at X3-988, a star system in the Beta Quadrant.
Upon arrival, a Romulan warbird was destroyed by two patrol ship. Imagine, a
warbird destroyed like that! I was picked for an away mission to the
surface. After many attempts to leave that phaser behind, Tora and Kevin
shoved one into my hands. Once we were on the surface, we found a door.
Prophets know why the door
didn't open. It was quite annoying, but they soon were able to blast it
open. Inside was totally dark, and a pair of hands grabbed me. After some
screeching, the away team noticed what had happened turned the lights on. A
band of pirates surrounded them. They demanded that they drop their weapons.
Tyven suggested that I bite this man who was holding me, and I did. I ran
back over to the away team, where Tora shoved me down. After that, I wasn't
too clear of. All I know there was a bunch of
phasers firing and people screaming. See why I don't like those things?
Anyhow, everyone managed to return to the Stealth safety.
