LtJr Kate's Duty Log SD: 9608.27

<<Begin Log>>

Tonight's mission seemed easy enough: to evacuate a colony aboard an
asteroid.

I even got an assistant for the night! I had EnsSchultz, my assistant at
the time, run scans to keep us updated on the conditions of the asteroid.
Upon Kurn's order, I began scanning the area for cloaked ships, since the
Romulans are of course, a constant threat.
Due to the am,ount of crew going on the rescue mission, I lost my
assistant (easy come, easy go), as Schultz took helm.
I then began to detect some disturbances. I confirmed that as being a
small Romulan vessel, without full weapons compliment. They would be no match
for us.
I opened a channel to them. The Romulan identified himself as "Avitar of
Toal" and claimed to be there for trade purposes. Since I do not trust the
Romulans, I ran continuos scans of their ship. They did not power up their
weapons, and their stance seemed... peaceful. However, I then began to
detect some sort of communiation system,
I determined that it was indeed a message to the suface. Tolo worked on
intercepting the message, while Kurn dealt with the Romluans.
The message that Tolo intercepted led us to believe that the Captain and
XO, who had been kidnapped, where aboard the Romulan vessel.
Upon Kurn's orders, I headed an AT, consisting of myself, EnsSchultz,
and LtJr Ellen. We beamed onto the Romulan ship. We began scans for signs
of the Captain and XO. Immediately we realized that the message was
incorrect, and that they were NOT there. We requested immediate beam back.

On a side note, I was promoted to full Leutenant today! : )

the evacuation from the runabouts whille Ellen and Gibbs took care of

There was a fierce battle, and we disabled them.I was at the time under the

::Computer, open counselor's log, Stardate 9608.27::

We were told that we would get a break tonight--a seemingly easy mission to
evacuate some colonists. Because of a lot of instability, we wouldn't be able
to transport the colonists directly; we'd have to use runabouts. (Hmmmmmmm!)
I volunteered to help Gibbs in Sickbay since he was shorthanded and we'd
certainly be expecting wounded. New biobeds were installed while at DS9, but
diagnostics hadn't been run yet. With an "OK" from Gibbs, I ran the
diagnostics. Everything checked out fine except for a loose wire on biobed
#4, which I fixed with a pair of needle-nosed pliers, a screwdriver, and duct
tape (never leave home without duct tape--even in the 24th century!).
Things seemed normal (a psychology professor once told me that "normal" is
"just a setting on your dryer") for a while; shuttles and runabouts were
dispatched, colonists were being evacuated, and whump--Cpt. Scully and Cdr.
Shodan were kidnapped. Romulans, no doubt. Kurn got his shot at "The Chair"
and did well. And I was sent on my first away-team mission: Kate, Schultz and
I were beamed aboard the Romulan vessel since we were led to believe that
that's where the CO and XO were. Wrong! They were whisked
away at warp speed, probably before the first shimmer of our AT could appear
on the ship. There was no imminent danger on the vessel, but we had to get
back to the Roddenberry so that we *could* find Scully and Shodan. Right at
the end of the mission Kate asked what I sensed. It seemed strange because I
never considered myself to be an empath. Empathetic and intuitive, yes, but
never a true empath. However, this time I knew I sensed something for sure,
and it wasn't just a run-of-the-mill hunch.
Whatever we were involved with was dangerous...and familiar.
Kate received a well-deserved promotion to full lieutenant tonight, along
with a cooler full of Gatorade (on her head!)

STARDATE 9608.28
Commander Eileen Shodan
First Officer of the USS Roddenberry
BEGIN DUTY LOG
This mission began when we received word of colonists who needed rescueing.
A federation colony near the Neutral Zone is in grave danger. Their planet
is
breaking up. They have two days to get off the planet. Due to disturbances,
we
cannot use transporters. We have to rescue all 25,000 people using just our
shuttle/runabouts. Lieutenant (JG) Tolo and Ensign Edwards were ordered to
assemble rescue teams and use the runabouts for immediate evacuation.
Lieutenant (JG) Tolo had Ensign Jay assist him.

Ensign Schultz was assigned to assist Lieutenant (JG) Kate in Science. They
ran
continuous scans on the asteroid/planet.

Captain Scully and I took a runabout down to the planet to speak with
Lieutenant
Johnson about a secret project they were doing on the planet. Lieutenant
Commander Kurn was in charge while we were gone.

Counselor Lieutenant (JG) Ellen assisted CMO First Lieutenant Gibbs in
Sickbay. Some of the medi-kits were missing some dermal regenerators. They
prepped Sickbay for incoming casualties, which they knew we would have
because of foreknowledge of the planet's conditions.

Lieutenant (JG) Kate reported a small Romulan vessel decloaking. LT
Commander Kurn ordered shields up and phasers armed. Captain Scully and
Commander Shodan (me) were suddenly and without warning kidnapped off of
their runabout before they could reach their destination. LT Commander Kurn
initiated Red Alert status aboard the Roddenberry and ordered the evacuation
halted.

The Romulan ship announced that it was the "Avitar of Toal" and was at this
location for a business trade transaction. LT Commander Kurn ordered,
"Romulan, leave now or be destroyed. That is all we have to say..." The
Romulans
said, "We need to finish our busines here. We will leave....ASAP" The
Romulans
had NOT armed their weapons, and, their ship was MUCH smaller than the
Roddenbery. After being reminded of this information by a few people, LT
Commander Kurn ordered the evacuation to resume.

Lieutenant (JG) Tolo discovered that a transporter beam had taken away the CO

& the XO. Lieutenant (JG) Ellen ran diagnostics on Sickbay bio-beds in
preparation for the injured Federation colonists. We learned that Ensign Jay

does not like the Romulans because they killed his family.

Lieutenant (JG) Kate detected a message originating from the Romulan ship and

directed to the surface of the planet. Lieutenant (JG) Tolo reported that
the
Romulans had targeted their weapons at him. The Romulans then hailed us and
asked why we had "advanced {our} position towards" them. LtCmdrKurn replied,

"Romulan, you are in no position to make demands.Move back at once..." The
Romulan reminded Kurn that their vessel is smaller than ours. Kurn asked
about
the message they were transmitting. They said they didn't know what he was
talking about.

Ensign Schultz detected the Romulans targeting their weapons at the
Federation
colony. Kurn ordered the Roddenberry be moved so that it would be positioned

between the Romuland ship and the Federation colony. The Romulans fired at
the Roddenberry. Kurn ordered return fire. Schultz complied. Ensign Jay
fired
his runabout's phasers.

Tolo intercepted a message from Lt Johnson that said "We have the Captain and

his XO." Kurn was under the assumption that Scully and myself were on the
Romulan vessel, so he ordered Kate to lead an away team to rescue us. She
took
Ellen and Schultz with her. They did not find us because we were not there.

Tolo detected warp trace signatures (the Captan and myself were being whisked

away at warp speeds). Kurn ordered the colonists be abandoned and had the
Roddenbery follow the ship his CO & XO were on.

Ensign Jay requested that he be transferred to the Odysey because they sim on

Saturday (which is not a school night).

We were preparing to rescue colonists, 25,000 of them- only using roundabouts
and shuttles.

Ensign Edwards and I were sent in two diffrent rounabouts, I took Ensign Jay
along with me. We were lauched toward the colony, when a small Romulan ship
appeared...meanwhile, the captain and XO took a shuttle to a planet to find
some message from a StarFleet Lt. On their way there, the captain and XO were
swiftly abducted.
My roundabout was sent, by Lt Commander Kurn, to investigate- while Edwards'
continued towards the colony. I ordered Jay to the rounabout helm, where he
preformed...to some extent well. He was a little...unsure...about how we
should predede, but he followed the orders.
I discovered a transporter loop near the Romulan ship, which I demised caused
the captain and XO's abduction. Jay and I almost found a way to find the
captain and XO, when the romulan ship opened fire on the rounabout. Jay
quickly preformed some evasive menuves and keep us away from danger.
We managed to get back to the ship, just in time, when the captain and XO,
presumable aboard the Romulan ship, warped away towards the Neutral Zone.

I am curious as to what Kurn will do- with 25,000 lives hanging in the
balance.

Roddenberry took a beating though. I was helm most of the mission , but
switched to a shuttle to rescue 40 colonists. Neil and Kurn took turns
commanding and and jay and schultz and tolo rescued the cpt and xo. All in
all , it was a good mission , and all personel were helpful in completeing
this mission. And the rodde berry held its end up when atacked by 7 romulan
warbirds. I also helped restore warp power.

STARDATE 9609.05
Commander Eileen Shodan
First Officer of the USS Roddenberry
BEGIN DUTY LOG
We began on the heels of last mission. Last week, we ended the sim with this

situation: Captain Scully and myself were being whisked away at warp speed.

The 25,000 colonists still needed rescuing from their collapsing planet. Due
to
the magnetic interference in their ionosphere, we are unable to use
transporters,
therefore, we must rely solely on shuttles and runabouts. Neil was not in
attendance, so LtCmdrKurn was in charge. However, Neil was able to show up
tonight. LtCdr Neil is the Second Officer. At the very end of the sim last
week,
Kurn had ordered the evacuation halted, and he ordered the Roddenberry to
pursue the vessel that he believed was carrying his CO & XO. This is where
we
now begin with the new sim.

LtJrValdyr was CMO tonight due to the absence of Gibbs. She and LtJrEllen
cleaned up Sickbay and prepared for more casualties. LtjgTolo suggested we
temporarily abandon the rescue attempt for the two top senior officers in
order
to save the lives of the Federation colonists who needed evacuating.
EnsSchultz
and Ens Jay offered to take runabouts to continue to rescue the colonists.

LtCdr Neil asked LtCmdrKurn to relinquish command to him, because he is the
Second Officer, and, therefore, is in charge when the CO and the XO are not
around. Kurn was reluctant to follow the chain of command because he felt he

had more knowledge of the situation. So, Kurn and Neil went to the Captain's

Ready Room to discuss the situation. Lt Katie was left in charge of the
Bridge.

LtjgTolo wanted to do further analysis of the transporter beam that took
Scully
and myself. Three Romulan warbirds decloaked two light years from the
Roddenberry. Lt Katie took charge and ordered the Romulan ships hailed.
LtJrValdyr had Ellen help her "assemble the tissue replicator and load the
Captain's and XO's DNA." The Romulan vessel answered hails and ordered the
Roddenberry to stop violating the Neutral Zone and leave immediately or risk
war. LtCdr Neil finally took charge and questioned the Romulans. He
informed
them that we were on a rescue mission and would not leave until our mission
was
completed.

LtjgTolo discovered that the transporter beam that took Scully and myself
"used
some time of low-energy, plasma detector, which sent a transporter scan, much

larger than normal. It found a pattern and beamed it away, without analysis.
I
believe we can use it against them., some type of feedback loop." LtJrValdyr
and
LtJrEllen continued their efforts to examine the DNA of the two senior
officers
as well as prepare Sickbay for incoming casualties. The Romulans armed their

weapons. LtCdr Neil ordered Red Alert, shields up, and photons, phasers, and

torpedoes armed and ready.

LtCmdrKurn chose this moment to display conduct unbecoming of a Starfleet
Officer. He kicked a "computer across {the} Bridge and watched it shatter."
He
then took the XO chair next to Kurn. LtjgTolo presented his idea: "We get
the
beam to feedback {on} itself, beaming the crew, well back and forth in
space.... I
can maybe also use it on the colony, because it uses different energy."
While
LtjgTolo was trying unsuccessfully to explain his idea, the Romulan ships
took
tactically strategic formations around our ship. LtCdr Neil ordered evasive
maneuvers. Neil then ordered our two tactical officers, Carey and Schultz,
to
"fire at will." LtCmdrKurn, apparently not knowing we were already at Red
Alert,
ordered EnsCarey to go to Red Alert status. EnsSchultz suggested "We go to
about 1m away and warp pulse around them and run." EnsEdwards (the Helms
Officer) used many evasive maneuvers in an attempt to escape the Romulans.

We engaged in a fire fight with the Romulans. The Roddenberry suffered
damage to the warp core and weapons systems. LtjgTolo was able to disable
one
Romulan ship. Four more warbird decloaked. Our warp engines came back on
line. LtCdr Neil ordered us to leave. All of the Romulans then cloaked.
EnsEdwards reported that we were near the Mentalkian System and Starbase 577.

Lt Katie joined LtJrValdyr and LtJrEllen in Sickbay. The computer reminded
us
that the colonists have seven hours left until their planet collapses. LtCdr
Neil
authorized EnsSchultz and Ens Jay to use a shuttle for cover. LtCdr Neil had
to
leave. He informed all of us and turned command over to LtCmdrKurn.
EnsSchultz and Ens Jay were heading to look for Scully and myself.
LtCmdrKurn ordered us back to the colony. Lt Katie, LtJrValdyr, and
LtJrEllen
continued treating patients in Sickbay. LtjgTolo had an idea to combine the
power of four runabouts into a "somewhat ship." LtCmdrKurn authorized him to

do it. Tolo then launched and looked for Scully and me.

A small vessel appeared in the neutral zone. LtCmdrKurn put Lt Katie in
charge
of evacuating the colonists. The small vessel turned out to be a scout ship
that
contained Captain Scully and myself. EnsCarey also assisted by piloting a
shuttle to rescue colonists. Scully and I docked with the Roddenberry.

We had another odd sim. This time Neil was back, and since the Captain and
XO were still
missing-in-action there was a question of who was in command of the ship.Neil
and I had a
disscussion about it in the ready room and it was decided that Neil was to
remain in command.
<At this point I got booted and when I came back we were well into the sim>
We were surronded by Romulan vessal, except these were not patrol ships
these were D'deridex class battle ships.Neil had ordered the ship into battle
and we were taking heavy damage.
<At this point Neil was booted, so I took command>
I didn't like the odds of the Roddenberry against five Romulan ships and
decided that the we had
waited long enough to rescue the colony. So I ordered us back.I authorized
Tolo to make a last
attempt to rescue the Captain and XO.I put Katie in charge of the evacuation
and assigned a few
officers to help her.
Somehow the Captain and XO managed to catch a shuttle and get back to the
Roddenberry.It
is certainly nice to have them back onboard.....

During today's mission I worked in Sickbay with LtJr Valdyr. (I'm thankful
that I decided to take the intensive course in Emergency Medical Training
during my last year at the Academy.) We started out by cleaning up Sickbay
from the previous mission and preparing it for incoming wounded. We also
prepared for any treatment that Captain Scully and Commander Shodan (host and
symbiant) by assembling the tissue replicator and loading their DNA patterns.
I prepared and checked the emergency med kits, making
sure that there were enough dermal regenerators (some of the kits were
missing them last week, so I replicated extras of those and other items--just
in case). Off-duty medical crew members were called in to help with the
wounded colonists. There was also violent activity taking place with the
Romulans (I was unaware of the specifics until I read the ship's log
later--we were so busy in Sickbay), so we had several injured crew members to
care for as well. LtJr Valdyr put me in charge of triage; as per
Starfleet medical protocol I directed the medical teams (and helped along
with) treating the less serious injuries onsite and sending those with
serious and life-threatening injuries to Sickbay. Lt Katie also helped us in
Sickbay and on the damaged decks--she was a tremendous help to us. She, too,
is skilled in triage and EMT; if I were injured I'd know I'd be getting
top-notch treatment if Katie (or Valdyr, or Gibbs) were attending. Ens Carey
sustained a head injury and was unconscious for awhile. My
guess is that he had a mild concussion; however, being the dedicated officer
that he is, he left Sickbay (a bit too soon) to continue with the rescue
mission. He passed out later on, but I think he'll be okay as long as he
stays away from Romulan ale for a few days, gets some rest, and applies ice
packs to the injury site a few times a day (even with 24th century
technology, some of the "old ways" are still valuable).
Lt Katie and I were able to take care of the injuries on the damaged decks
and return to Sickbay to assist Valdyr with the numerous patients there. And
fortunately our CO and XO were able to escape from their captors and return
to us--with cuts and bruises, yes, but alive and relatively well. Shodan's
symbiant, however, sustained some bad injuries and will need extensive care
(which means Eileen Shodan, the host, will need a good dose of TLC as well).
As I understand it, there are still a good number of colonists to be
evacuated, and there's not much time in which to do it. Realistically, we can
expect more injuries as the planet's stability decreases. I hope that we will
be able to rescue the remaining colonists without any fatalities.

Computer, open log. **computer-ish "beep" sound**

This mission was a stressful one: the Captain and XO were kidnapped, Romulans
attacking from all sides, the CMO is in a coma, and whatever happened to that
colony we were supposed to evacuate?????
Luckily, I have been doing some research lately on xenoneurophysiology, so I
knew how to treat agonizer damage and general torture damage in both Trills
and Humans. It appears that the Shodan symbiont is in danger, as is its
host. I have placed Commander Shodan in stasis until I can replicate the
tools and find the necessary assisstants to do the delicate surgery she will
require. I have also sent a subspace message to the Trill homeworld,
requesting that a new host be lined up in case (and this is a
big "if") the "Eileen" in "Eileen Shodan" is no longer with us.
I would like to request official commendations for Lt Katie and LtJrEllen.
They were indispensable in dealing with triage management on the damaged
decks. Without them, a number of valuable crew members would have been lost.

Ensign Carey should report for at least one more physical examination before
resuming duties, and should be restricted to light duty for the next few days
while his condition is being monitored. Head injuries should not be taken
lightly.
On a happier note, Dr. Gibbs has fully recovered from his coma, and should be
able to resume full CMO duties by next week.
On a happier note than even that, I ran a full scan on myself in Sickbay
after the misson, and my suspicions were confirmed. I am pleased to announce
that there will soon be one more little green person running around the
Roddenberry! It is not known yet whether it's a boy or girl, or who its
father is, but I will run a full genetic scan and have the answers by next
week.

We left to find the captain and XO, who we presumed where on a ship.
As we approuched the Neutral Zone, we were detected by Romulans- who opened
fire on us. I remembered how the captain and XO were abducted, and used it to
our advantage. I used the same type of energy beam, only with a feedback
loop. Thus, the Romulans on board one of the few ships we engaged, were
beamed back and forth from there location. It only worked on one of the
ships, but we managed to get out of the area and keep trying to find our
captain and XO. We had only seven hours before the colony was
going to explode, so we had to work fast.
Neil, our acting captain ordered Ensign Jay and Ensign Shutlz to look for our
top senior officers. They had trouble finding them. I thought of a strange
idea, to combine some rounabouts and shuttles using tractor beams and create
what I called a "somwhat ship."
I was ordered to procede with my idea, and I began my search for the captain
and XO away from the Roddenberry.
It took some time, but with Jay and Shutlz- we were able to locate a ship
with the captain and XO onboard- they were on there way back to the

Captain Scully and Commander Shodan back to the ship. We are now back at the

Lt Kate's Duty Log SD: 9609.03

<<Begin Log>>

Our mission to evacuate the colonists and rescue our captain and first
officer continued tonight. THere was a bit of scuffle for command between
LtCdr Neil and LtCmdrKurn. I was on the bridge at the time, watching the
fight go on... I just couldn't bear to watch it. So, I not so politely
suggested that they take their argument into the Ready Room. THey agreed.
However, this left ME as captain.
So... Captain. Great. I do not have command skills yet! And here we
were in the nuetral zone when three Romulan ships decloaked. I hailed them
but they did not respond. Fortunately at around that same time, acting
Captain, LtCdr Neil emerged from the ready room.
I stayed on the bridge and had Ltjg Tolo report to me about his
progress with the beam. Tolo was given the go ahead to try it. Then
LtCmdrKurn came back on the bridge. Since we had two senior officers, I saw
no reason that I should stay on the bridge any longer.
However, there was not much to do in science. I asked all department
heads if there was anyone who needed any help. LtJrValdyr, acting CMO
replied that help with triage was needed. So, myself and LtJr Ellen treated
patients, and sent any seriously injured people to see Valdyr.
After I had helped out, I learned that Neil was no longer available. I
returned to the bridge to see if I could be of any assistance to acting
captain LtCmdrKurn. He asked me and several Ensigns to resume the evacuation
process.
As we were doing the evacuations, we received word that the captain and
first officer had arrived back on the ship, of their own accord. So much for
us running to their rescue!! ; )

took the saucer section and some shuttles. My mission: to rescue some
Federation Colonists in Sector 542.012. There is a scientific base set up
there
to help record and scan a star going Super Nova. Now it is about to
collapse and
we are the only ship in the area capable of rescuing the whole base in time.

I led an away team to the planet Zebar. I took Edwards, Jay, Valdyr, and
Kate
with me. I sent Ed and Jay down to the planet in shuttles. There were
occasional
electro-magnetic storms that interfered with transporters. We couldn't count
on
transporters exclusively. Also, the storms would make the shuttle rides very

bumpy. I hailed the planet. The Strange Robe Guy (SRG or RG) answered.
They
did not want to be evacuated. They did not seem to care that their planet
had
geological problems and would soon be uninhabitable. These were not the same

people who only yesterday asked for our help. I could not locate anyone from

the government official group that we spoke with yesterday. I can only
assume
that they are no longer in power and some other, possibly renegade faction
has
taken over.

Edwards, Jay, and Valdyr were kidnapped. We were unable to get a transporter

lock on them. Later Kate was able to get a transporter lock onto Ed and beam

him up. We still have two shuttles down on the planet.

Jay was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade.

Jay: ::Thinking:: Ellen!! Where are you?? Get us outta here!!!!! ::Yelling

Rich? You wanna use your powers for good? Get us out!!!!!!

Valdyr: Jay?!? What are you doing?

Jay: Acting like a maniac...going nuts.

Valdyr: Well, that was apparrent when you signed on...

Jay: Ha Ha. My cellmate is a comedian...

Valdyr: ::shakes head::

Jay: ::thinking:: Gee, I wonder I get promoted when I get back. Considering
my conduct is really "unbecoming of an officer." You thought Kurn was bad!
I beat up Tolo, and I must have killed at least 2 people when I landed before
they got me. Well, here I am. Stuck in a cave with an Orion. Well, hope
insanity doesn't "drive her off the deep end". I don't think that'd be good.
Noooo, sir. Well lets think, I am here. My shuttle is, gee, what'd they do
with it? Hmm, how did this start? Well, Ed and
I were stunt flying through the atmosphere, we landed, and then I got mobbed
as I was leaving. These MORONS don't wanna leave their planet. The star is
gonna go SuperNova. Well, I don't know what I can do. I don't know what
happened to Ed. If Kate comes down and gets caught... Oh yeah! I was CSO
again and everyone got kidnapped! Why does this always happen? Well, if
Kate gets cuaght while I'm CSO, Neil will kill me for sure... Anyway, I got
stuck in this cave, and tied up, but they didn't take
my comm badge or phaser. Well I blew a hole in the ground, and I stumbled
upon a meeting in progress. Well, I dubbed it
the "rebirth of the KKK". Then those nutcases heard me, and tried to get me.
Well, I killed them all. Oh my God! I killed them! I KILLED THEM! Well,
they did try to kill
me, but I... Ugh. I must have something wrong with me. I am really a
bloodthirsty
weirdo... ::out loud:: Computer...Oh yeah. DAMN!

Today we seperated the stardrive and saucer sections for seperate missions. I
was on the saucer section with commander Shodan , Jay , Valdyr , and Ellen.
We were supposed to go to a planet and evacuate some people from an exploding
sun , but they refused , so Jay and me went down in shuttles. But they
captured me and Jay , and I was put in a containment capsule. I managed to
blow the lock off the capsule and escape , after battling a guard and a
wierd old man. Just when i thought i was free , i was
captured by a mob , an old crazy doctor tried to do experiments on me , but
i escaped again and got into clear area and had Ellen beam me up just in
time. Unfortunatly , I never heard again from Jay and Valdyr , except for one
gargled transmission of Jay Yelling (Static ED CAN YOU (Static) and that was
all.

:::says log to Jay, since computer is not there to record it:::

Today's exciting mission started off as a routine evacuation of a planet in a
star system about to go nova. When the portion of the crew in the saucer
section (me, Jay, Shodan, Kate, and Ed) arrived at the planet, we were
informed by a weird old guy in a really cool robe (I thought he was acting
like a putz, but I didn't say anything) that our presence was unwanted and we
were to leave immediately. Jay and Ed had already been dispatched in
shuttles to begin the evacuation, and were summarily captured
and imprisoned by an army of Robe Guys. When I beamed down to provide
medical assistance, I was thrown in a padded room, then transported to the
cave where Jay was being held. At present we are still in the cave, which
Jay refers to as a "bed-and-breakfast", despite the lack of any beds or
foodlike substances. If we are not rescued soon, the Roddenberry may lose
one of its best shuttle pilots. (And I mean that!!!!)

::Computer, open Counselor's log, Stardate 9609.10::

The crew was divided up in order to accomplish two missions. That left us
with kind of a skeleton crew. Our mission was to locate and destroy the base
from which the Founders plan to infiltrate the alpha quadrant.
I sensed Dominion activity--the emotions involved were a sense of urgency and
a need for secrecy. There was also that air of overconfidence so typical of
the Dominion. Scanners revealed a Dominion ship; I then sensed anger and
hostility which I deduced was the Jem'Hadar. A Jem'Hadar ship showed up on
the scanners, and Scully asked me to take the helm and engage and intercept
course for that ship. Scully declared a Red Alert. Carey, Rich, and Tolo
prepared for security and tactical moves.
I sensed life forms on a G-class planet which we determined to be the
Dominion base. Rich identified a cloaked Romulan ship; under Scully's orders
I navigated the Roddenberry to the nearest nebula, being careful of any
gaseous anomolies. Other cloaked ships were detected near the nebula, and
they appeared to be scanning the G-class planet as well. I sensed that they
knew we were there but were choosing not to let on that they knew about us.
It was obvious that we needed to destroy not only the base on the planet, but
also the source on the Jem'Hadar ship. Tolo indicated that we needed to get
onto the Jem'Hadar ship undetected. As a backup escape plan (I like to think
ahead--
must be from my Girl Scout days) I prepared to project a holographic image of
our ship onto the nebula to create confusion as to where we really were.
Carey and Rich found cloaked Klingon vessels as well. We had to determine
whether they were there to help or attack the base. The Romulan warbird
decloaked and opened fire on the planet, and the Jem'Hadar quickly destroyed
them. Scully wisely decided that we would not fire on the planet. At least
not yet.
I sensed divided loyalties among the Klingons and Romulans-- some were
willing to go along with the Dominion while several were opposed. I
recommended sending a hail to the Klingons and Romulans on the customary
frequency while piggy-backing a sub-message to the Dominion-opposed officers
on those ships. I received a return hails along with sub-frequency messages
that the Dominion-opposed officers wanted to cooperate with us. I sensed they
were telling the truth. Under Scully's orders I coordinated the
efforts of the Romulans and Klingons with us. All hails were routed to me
for the coordination efforts. There were six Klingon and five Romulan
vessels; all had full weapons power.
Rich started to get "Q-like" and tried to hijack the ship; he began to fire
on me but the Continuum captured him before any damage could be done.
To be continued...same Trek time, same Trek channel.

The crew was split, and Carey, Rich, Ellen, and the Captain were with me in
the drive section.
We were sent to destroy a Dominion base and a ship.
We located a Jem'Hadar ship, and I began to think of some ideas. First, we
located a G-Class planet, which I found to be the base. Then, we located a
couple of Romulan ships and we went into a nebula. I found that in order to
destoy the Jem'Hadar ship and colony, I needed to get onboard the Jem'Hadar
vessel. I devised a plan that would cunfuse the Jem'Hadar, by seeing a Fed
shuttle destroyed...by us. I beamed on board and managed to disable some
power, but the base survived...
The Romulans and Klingons then joined us to stop the Dominion attack, and
they powered up for battle...
I am still thinking of a plan that I could use to disable the colony, and the
ship....and then destroy it.

able to

After interrogating Jay, he decided to see if Valdyr was going to cooperate.
She wasnt of course, being a good Starfleet officer. So the Strange robe guy
let Valdyr go. He had some ethics where he wouldnt kill a pregnet woman or
something. Then he used telepathic powers to subdue
Jay and turn him into a chicken. Poor Jay. I can see him pecking at the

She needed it, after the way Jay dragged her around in the cave. She's in

BEGIN LOG
We began where the last log left off. While waiting for Capt. Scully to
return to the battle bridge, I briefed our part of the crew about today's
mission. We had a small but powerful crew: Scully, Tolo, and yours truly. I
continued to work the helm and communications. Tolo manned tactical and
engineering. We were on Red Alert. The Romulans and Klingons aren't too crazy
about us, but compared with the Founders and Jem'Hadar, we are the "lesser of
two evils." Three Romulan and four Klingon vessels were
willing to form an alliance with us to destroy the Founders' base on the
G-class planet and to keep all of us protected from those pesky Jem'Hadar.
Tolo, the sly one, was able to get the Jem'Hadar's vessel's warp core code.
The Klingon and Romulan vessels formed a normal attack formation and were
ready to act on Scully's mark. Scully took over tactical and Tolo went to the
science console to prepare to disable the Jem'Hadar's engines. Once
everything and everyone were ready our allies decloaked and opened fire on
the Jem'Hadar and I moved the ship out of the nebula. Tolo succeeded in
disabling the Jem'Hadar's warp core with an ionic pulse; quantum torpedoes
destroyed 75 percent of the base. Unfortunately three of our ally
ships were destroyed: two Klingon and one Romulan. As we hauled tushies out
of the Neutral Zone at maximum warp, three Jem'Hadar ships followed us. Our
remaining allies informed us that they would continue to fire on the base. We
would need to prepare for wounded, though.
Tolo continued to fire on the Jem'Hadar ships and hit two of them: that
slowed them down.
The Romulan captain hailed us; a vessel was severely damaged and they had to
pull out. He requested medical help. Scully instructed him to meet us at
coordinates 204.725 and I set a course for those coordinates.
As Tolo disabled and scared away the Jem'Hadar, Captain K'hlar of the Klingon
vessel Dth'lan signaled us: the Klingon force was still intact and had
completed the destruction of the base. He also told Capt. Scully that they
would write a song about this battle. (I can hardly wait for the video!)
As the saucer section appeared on the sensors I beamed to the Romulan ship
with which we had rendez-voused. Med kits in hand, I assisted in tending to
the wounded. When all was well I beamed back aboard the Roddenberry, back in
one piece, and joined my crewmates in celebrating Gibbs' promotion to
Lieutenant Commander (which I understand is easier to spell than "First
Lieutenant").

Counselor's log, Stardate 9609.23

Promotion time is usually a happy time, but for some it can be filled with
mixed emotions. I've begun counseling Lt Katie regarding her relationship
with USF Neil. Because along with Neil's promotion comes a transfer, they
have decided not to maintain a long-distance relationship. As with all
things, there are pros and cons. A "pro" is that each is free to advance in
his/her career. A "con," of course, is the grieving period that goes along
with the end of a romantic relationship.
We've started by simply allowing Kate to identify and express her feelings. I
am confident that she will get through this; it's just going to take time.
So be nice to her, okay!

First Officer of the USS Roddenberry
BEGIN DUTY LOG
I sat mulling over the problem of the Federation Colonists. They desperately
needed rescuing, but their current (and brand new - one day old) government
wasn’t letting us rescue them. Since these were Federation Colonists, would
it violate the Prime Directive to rescue them? I was glad Captain Scully was
here to talk to. I needed his advice. I went to apprise him of the
situation.

While we were discussing the situation on Zebar in his Ready Room, we
received a hail from the planet. Apparently, the majority of the people
wanted to get off. They seemed to have over-ruled the minority weirdoes
(Strange Robe Guys) who wanted to stay. So, we launched an all-out,
full-scale rescue squad.

The turbulence in the atmosphere would occasionally interfere with
transporters. So we were prepared to use shuttles. I assigned Lieutenant
Junior Grades Jay and Valdyr to lead the shuttle brigade. Ensigns Edwards
and Schultz were in charge of the transporters, with Lieutenant Junior Grade
Tolo (Chief Engineer) making any necessary adjustments. Because of our
previous encounters with the colonists (I’m referring to the kidnappings),
Kurn went along for a shuttle ride.

Our crew performed heroically. No Strange Robe Guys were able to take a
stand against Kurn. Gosh, we should have had him there in the first place!
He would have saved our crew much anguish. And a lot of time, too. Kurn,
Valdyr, Jay, Tolo, Edwards, Schultz, and everyone else performed heroically.

We soon had everyone back on board. Captain Scully went to interview some of
them. When I later saw him, the look on his face was not pleasant. “I need
to speak to you NOW, Shodan,” he said.

My blood pressure immediately went up. “Yes, sir,” I responded.

We went into his ready room. “What’s this I hear about a certain Goddess of
War?”

“Sir, I do not subscribe to such religious beliefs.”

“Are you aware that impersonating a deity is an extreme violation of
Starfleet rules and regulations?”

“Sir, I would *never* impersonate a deity. It is against my religious
beliefs, as well as being against Starfleet rules and regulations.”

“Then explain to me why their Goddess of War is named Shodan.”

Valdyr were glad to lend their medical expertise to heal Kate.

The wormhole appeared off of our starboard bow. Lieutenant (JG) Tolo
recommended that we launch a class 4 probe into it. Captain Scully
concurred. Readings indicated that the worm hole was not stable.

Suddenly, we were engulfed by the wormhole. Ensign Edwards detected a Class
M planet. Also, an alien ship appeared. This ship had hostile intentions.
Violating their space was an act of war, in their opinion. There was a
tremendous fire fight. Jay and Rich launched in shuttles/fighters. The

Open Counselor's Log, Stardate 960930

The counselor's office has been busy this week--unusually busy.
Lt Kate is progressing as expected following her break-up with LtCdr Neil.
We've focused on acknowledging emotions, and have begun the step of trying to
let go of negative feelings without denying them. She's been going through
stages of introverstion and extraversion, which is to be expected. She's been
able to communicate with Neil via subspace; I sense that there is a long and
lasting friendship. I'm recommending a "girls' night out" as soon as the
Roddenberry is out of the present crisis.
LtJr Jay is continuing to progress regarding anger-
management. We've been able to trace the roots to his childhood and we are
now going through the steps of resolving some very traumatic repressed
memories. This will not be a quick process, but as past traumas are dealt
with, the need for quick anger and violence will fade away. In the meantime,
Jay has become good at using visualization techniques (such as "pink fuzzy
thoughts") in controlling the expression of anger. The present crisis is a
source of catharsis for Jay; he is able to fight back at some
of what he could not fight as a child. His knowledge of the life forms in
this sector has proven invaluable--we'd have no idea of what to do had it not
been for Jay's informative briefings. I would advise caution, though, in
combat situations. It is still rather early in the recovery process for Jay
to separate emotions from duty regarding the alien life forms, and the
possibility of judgment based on anger and fear is still rather strong.

Ens Edwards suffered a great trauma with the death of Darign, his symbiont.
We have only been able to meet briefly as he has had to be in stasis most of
the time. Edwards' emotional recovery will, as is almost always the case,
take longer than his physical recovery. The joined-Trill host-symbiont
relationship is unique among humanoids. Whereas when a non-joined being loses
a loved one, though it causes great loss and grief, it's different from the
joined-Trill experience, as the latter involves a loss of
part of one's identity, a death of self. There is also a greater guilt
factor because of the cultural emphasis of preservation of the symbiont. With
these factors in mind, I will work with Edwards throughout the recovery
process. Note to Self: consult Shodan when further researching Trill
psychology.
I've been speaking with Lt Valdyr regarding the partner in the marriage
leaving. She seems to be okay on the surface with it, seeing the situation
logically and recognizing that the partner is not up to a long-distance
marriage. However, there's a strong possibility that stronger emotions may
surface once the baby is born, and I am prepared to help her through divorce
recovery if she feels that it's a necessity. In the meantime, juggling
responsibilities aboard ship and preparing for a baby in a couple
of weeks keeps her very occupied. As soon as the situation allows, I'd
suggest a "girls' night out" for Valdyr as well! Special Note: Valdyr
received a well-deserved promotion to full Lieutenant this week.
Patience seems to be the key as regards my work with Ens Rich. The anger
management problems and violent behavior are clearly a result of past,
possibly traumatic, events, but he does not seem ready to talk about it yet.
He has often expressed that he feels that the crew dislikes him in spite of
repeated assurances that he is liked and accepted. He has taken a big step
this week by letting go of the "Q" identity. Jay is to be commended on his
interaction with Ens Rich; I'm sure that friendship will be a
major factor in his progress. I don't want to push Rich into remembering or
expressing anything he's not ready to; it's not worth it to risk
retraumatization. Again, my key role here is patience. However, it *is*
important to not tolerate inappropriate violent behavior; past trauma or not,
abuse is never appropriate. Due process and adherence to Starfleet directives
is essential to the safety and well-being of everyone aboard this ship.

We are still recovering from our scrape with our new 'friends'. Unfortunatly,
sickbay is still a little too full- well... It always is. Anyhow, Ed is
recovering nicely, he reported back for duty today. I was unable to attend

was is pretty bad shape when I arrived in the brig. I transported back to
sickbay (why cant I emergancy transport to the emergancy scene? Oh well...)

him at any time now, so we're keeping a careful eye on him. I really hate
losing patients...
On a brighter note, I was posted as second officer. I feel old...

Today I helped Tolo fixed the warp drive systems. I managed to get the

place was a mess. I also discovered that we have no more photons. As I
tried to figured out why, a fire broke out in the bay. I had to get out of
there and wait until Ensign Edwards put water in the bay. When I went back
in there, I also discovered that their is another ship, big and more
powerful, then the other one we had to destroyed. I hope I can come
with another idea to destroy this ship.

Counselor's Log, Stardate 9610.01
BEGIN LOG
The alien ship self-destructed after having greatly disabled our ship. The
Roddenberry and a good number of her crew are undergoing repairs. I served in
Sickbay helping out wherever needed. Our former CMO, USF Silona, was aboard
to help out with the numerous injuries. Because all of the nurses were out on
triage teams on other decks, I had the honor of assisting Dr. Silona with a
Teranial surgery. In the meantime, Dr Valdyr and Qui'zuk were able to
successfully reattach the Darign symbiont to Ens Edwards
thus saving both their lives. Edwards will be taking a much-needed shore
leave after his near-death experience. When he returns I will resume his
course of counseling. He's been experiencing some flashbacks, which is to be
expected in cases of Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS). With therapy
beginning relatively soon following the trauma, the patient has a much better
chance of thorough recovery and post-trauma readjustment.
While all kinds of things were happening in other areas of the ship, we had
our own "surprise" in Sickbay. I was checking with the patients and doing the
"counselor thing" when I noticed that Valdyr was in pain and her skin was a
paler shade of green. She went into early labor. We paged Shodan and Qui'zuk
to Sickbay. Shodan suggested halting the early labor with a halt-early-labor
drug, but since the psychic bond between Valdyr and Roja Kathryn was already
established, it would be dangerous to stop
labor. I helped Valdyr to the birthing chair; Shodan checked the fetal
monitor and determined that both baby and mom are doing fine. I "coached"
Valdyr in deep breathing and visualization relaxation therapy. Valdyr said
that this may be a long labor. During the contractions, her more aggressive
Orion side becomes more apparent--which is to be expected, since most women
in labor become Klingon, whether they have any Klingon blood or not! She's
been doing well with the relaxation techniques; if we can
keep that up, the labor and delivery experience will be easier for both
Valdyr and Roja.

Today we remained in the alien quadrant to repair the ship after the battle
of the Purple Guys. Emergency medteams were dispatched to care for the last
of the wounded, and with the help of our resident Trill specialist Qui'zuk, I
was able to successfully reattach the Darign symbiont. Ensign Ed was
released shortly afterwards and admonished to stick to light duty only for
the next few days. He will be taking a shoreleave with his parents on Trill
to recover. After the last of the medteams had been
dismissed to Ten Forward, Gibbs and I were cleaning up Sickbay when I went
into early labor! Commander Shodan (a former CMO herself) wanted to halt the
labor with drugs, but this was impossible as I have already established
telepathic contact with Roja Kathryn. Qui'zuk returned from Ten Forward to
help with the labor. So far the contractions have subsided, but who knows
when they will return? It appears that I am having an Orion-style birth,
which involves intense contractions followed by hours or
even days of rest. This could pose a problem due to the psychically fragile
state of Deltan babies. Qui'zuk, with his formidable telepathic talents, is
helping to reassure myself and the baby that we will both be fine. With his
help, I believe that Roja will not suffer any long-term psychic effects from
her difficult birth.

OPEN LOG
I was working in Sickbay today to help Valdyr. There was a whole lot o'
shakin' goin' on in other parts of the ship with the crew dealing with aliens
and trying to get us out of this dimension.
Valdyr's contractions halted, so we worked on putting the Sickbay back
together after the last deluge of injuries. I made sure that Valdyr did no
heavy lifting!
At one point when the ship was jolted she fell, but she and the baby were
okay. Valdyr experienced nausea and vomiting, which was to be expected. It
was best for her to discontinue working (obviously!), so she was on a bio bed
and all of her vitals were normal. She had the opportunity to communicate
telepathically with her baby; I sensed that Roja was a little confused at
first, but she was calm and at peace.
Both Valdyr and I believe that when the next set of contractions start, this
will be the "big one." Hopefully, we'll be back to our dimension by then, as
Roja's father wants to be present at the birth. And hopefully things will be
stable enough for Shodan to assist with Roja's birth as well.

Today I had a brief respite from my labor, which I used to help clean up
Sickbay (although our overly enthusiastic and helpful ship's counselor did
most of the work). Since I was not permitted to do any heavy lifting, I

for casualties. Qui'zuk stopped in to check on my progress. After the
clean-up, Ellen and I were relaxing with a cup of hot tea when we apparently
got in *another* battle. We were tossed around quite a bit,
and I got a little sick (all over Ellen!) as a result. Luckily, Roja and I
have recuperated, and I am anxiously awaiting her birth (as is everyone

OPEN LOG

I continued working in Sickbay today; I attended to Valdyr who was entering
her final stages of labor while Gibbs was attending to Ens Rich. I practiced
visualization and relaxation exercises with Valdyr while monitoring her
vitals and that of Roja Kathryn. I learned that Orion/Deltan women become
giddy during this stage, and it's contageous--at least for this budding
empath. Valdyr was concerned that the stress she felt would adversely affect
Roja. I established an empathic link with Roja, and she was
doing fine! I sensed feelings of joy, confidence, and eagerness. While
Valdyr was watching "Ghostbusters" on the monitor, Gibbs called me into his
office to consult about Rich. Rich was experiencing flashbacks from when he
was on the Essex. I went to his quarters and encouraged him to talk about the
flashbacks and the emotions he was experiencing. I am happy to report that he
had a major breakthrough. We were able to identify the traumas and the
emotions which had not been dealt with. Rich was able to
express his anger appropriately, and he said he was ready to deal with the
past and put it behind him so that he can get on with a successful future.
This will, of course, take some time; however, I am confident that therapy
will be successful and Rich will attain his goals for the healing of his
past.
When Valdyr went into hard labor, Rich and I joined Gibbs and Shodan in
Sickbay to assist with the birth. Valdyr was punted momentarily (possibly a
space/time anomoly) and her vital signs were a bit shakey for a while, but
Gibbs and Rich were able to stabalize her; Shodan and I coached her in
breathing and pushing, and a very beautiful and healthy Roja Kathryn became
the newest member of our crew!

Today was a routine mission with two exceptions: we're still stuck on the

Qui'zuk was discovered passed out outside Ten-Forward, and was of no use to
us. I am tempted to call my experiment with bringing non-Starfleet medical
personnel on board starships a failure.
From what I could "hear" of the conversations on the bridge, Lieutenant Tolo
has an idea that could get us home again, if we don't mind a hundred years in
cold sleep in what's got to be the mother of all transporter beams. He wants
to turn us into a subspace signal to get home, to reduce strain on the warp
engines. Reflecting on my scant engineering knowledge, and slightly better
knowledge of physics, I don't think that's theoretically possible.
Neitherdoes the Captain, but he's willing to listen to
Tolo's arguments, provided he provides a full report of his plan for
approval before executing. I can't say I relish the thought of Roja spending
her first century of life in cold sleep.

Today I was finally able to complete Ensign Jones' psychological evaluation.
He is the first of his species that I've ever encountered. He is a Chameleoid
from the planet Chameleonus in the Beta Quadrant. His species has remarkable
adaptive abilities, hence his outstanding performance in Engineering, Ops,
and Tac--often all during a single shift! He is a descendent of the House of
Jones, one of only two houses (the other was the House of Smith) that
remained after most of the population of Chameleonus
was destroyed four centuries ago by The Crystalline Entity (tm). The Smiths
and Jones' succeeded in rebuilding their planet's population and culture, as
well as restoring and developing their technology.
Ensign Jones is a bit shy, though he enjoys the friendships he's developed on
the Roddenberry. He takes pride (in a good sense) in his ability to perform
multiple tasks and to adapt to any situation. He is eager to help, and looks
forward to serving Starfleet for many years aboard the Roddenberry. He is
also quite fond of raspberry lemonade and Shodan's brownies.

done. We on en route to a starbase, but it was still a while before we got
there. So I started work on the engines since everything else could function
at 97% or 94%. Lieutenant Ed and I manage to hold the warp core pressure at
89%. Although I wanted more than that, that was the best we could do.

We were on a mission to study the formation of a star. Well, I started to do
odd jobs for the crew like feeding Ed's cat, repairing the forcefields in the
Brig, ect. Then Jay took a shuttle to the star, and became possesed with
something. He came on the Bridge and wanted Scully to. surrender the ship,
but I punched Jay and he got better.

This mission was the best mission I've ever done. We were investigating a
Star that was going red giant . It emmited Positron pulses( If im not right
dont kill me) and we sent Jay in a shuttle with Tolo. They got caught up in
some kind of foul play and were transported back to the ship somhow. Jay was
possessed. During the entire shabang was me. Since tolo was gone and carey
and kurn were both injured I had to work Helm Engineering and ops. It was
VERY exciting. I had to get severel key systems like helm
, and main power , and other things back online many many times because of
that ^%@!&^%# Anomoly. I am not sure exactly what happened because i was busy
working with Rich and Ellen. We managed to escacpe the Star when I piloted
the ship and the shuttle out of it. I did it just before I went unconcience
due to Jay. ::wince. Can still feel the blast:. It wasn't your fault Jay. Now
for some more relaxing
activities..............................................

The Roddenberry was assigned to observe and study the formation
of a new star.Since this mission was a low risk one, the Captain ordered
Carey and I to run a part by part diagnostic of the entire weapons array. We
didn't get very far....
We were on Deck 9, at the main phaser power conduit conjunction. We
detected massive build-ups of plasma inside.Carey and I barely made it out
of the room before the conduit exploded. We were both seriously injured.
We were beamed directly to sickbay and were treated by the expert care of
Commander Shodan and Lt Valdyr. We are both going to be fine, although for
a while, I was close to an all exspense-paid trip to Sto'vo'kor....

Well, today I started out at Ops and stayed there in excess of 2 minutes
without breaking the stupid thing. As I recall, we're just charting stars,
lovely lil' stars, as if there weren't enough of them... Anyway one of them
was emmiting random energy beam 12456, and It was affecting the crew. And
then I took Tolo out to investigate a star, and...And then I woke up in the
Brig! Thats all I remember!!!!!! People keep telling me I was possessed or
something...I don't care, well I do. Actually,
apperantly I injured quite a few people. (Carey doesn't count, that was of
my own free will) But, it still left me Telepathic and Telekinetic, and I can
live with that!!!!! I always wanted to fly...

***Begin Log***

What a day! This started out as a routine mission to observe the "birth" of
a new star, and also as a "shakedown" cruise for the newly repaired
Roddenberry. It was neither. The infant star began emitting positron waves,
which would normally have no effect on the crew. However, Doctor Gibbs
mysteriously collapsed in his office. By the time the EMH and I were able to
drag him to a biobed, he had lost all neural activity. I had no choice but
to put him in stasis awaiting further investigation.
Meanwhile, other members of the crew were experiencing mental difficulties.
Security Chief Jay turned into a raving lunatic, and began shouting nonsense
and physically attacking his fellow crew members without provocation.
However, I was far too busy in Sickbay to worry about Jay's odd behavior.
Lieutenant Commander Kurn and Lieutenant j.g. Carey were emergency-beamed to
Sickbay with severe wounds. It looked like they had been in a knife fight.
I didn't ask. I didn't want to. I had the EMH treat
Kurn's fairly superficial wounds while I attended to Carey. He had severe
injuries, including intracranial bleeding. I suspected brain damage, but his
neural scans all appeared normal (quite possibly the only one on the ship).
However, while Carey was in regen, a funny thing began to happen. He is half
Romulan and half human, but his dominant Romulan genes began to take over the
reconstruction of his body at the cellular level, in effect "converting" him
to a full-blooded Romulan. I suspect the new
batch of regen culture may be to blame...Qui'zuk mixed it, and he has
"fallen of the wagon" again, so to speak, in recent weeks. If his erratic
behavior continues I will have him dismissed. I am currently holding Lt.j.g.
Carey in Sickbay pending further observation. I won't go into detail about
his escape from Sickbay, but suffice it to say that I have never liked to
phaser-stun patients, but sometimes duty calls. At any rate, Carey is safe
and secure (in security restraints) in a biobed. The
mental instabilities among the crew increased in intensity by the minute,
and Qui'zuk, the EMH, Commander Shodan, and myself were no closer to a cure
than we had been at the start of the mission. I was getting discouraged. If
the two best neurophysiologists in the Federation (Qui'zuk and myself) can't
solve it, then who can? Then I remembered a conversation I had had with
Cmdr. Shodan in Ten-Forward about her experiences as former CMO of the
Potemkin. I asked Acting Science Officer Ellen to scan the
ship's air supply for neutramigen contamination. Sure enough, the ship's
atmosphere was full of neutramigen. I quickly had Engineering erect a
portable positron shield around Sickbay, and asked Ellen to modulate the
shields to reduce the number of free positrons in the ship. I noticed that
the crew seemed less disoriented, and Dr. Gibbs began to come around.
Sickbay was a madhouse at this point, so I concentrated my efforts on getting
Gibbs in shape to help with the rest of the patients. Toward the
end of the evening, he finally woke up. I appear to have my work cut out
for me for the next few days.
