his father. So at age 17 enrolled in StarFleet Academy

History: Jonas Nathaniel Brent is a typical Terran surfer dude from Southern
California. His parents were separated when he was young and he stayed in
San Diego with his mother while his father, Professor Nathaniel G. Brent,
moved to San Francisco to teach Military Science at Star Fleet Academy.
Jonas Brent maintained a relatively high GPA in high school and spent the
majority of his off time on the beach surfing. Upon high school
graduation, Jonas Brent received a letter of acceptance to Star Fleet Academy
where he graduated Star Date 0005.15 as Ensign Jonas Brent and received his
first posting to USS Roddenberry.

Bio: Joe Knight was born in a rural area of Italy(Earth). He grew with no
parents and at the age of ten left home. He traveled the world searching for
his calling. One time as a child he saw a Starfleet officer jumped by some
drunk Klingons and he tried to help. Only 14 years old, these men overpowered
him but they liked his courage. Joe was knocked unconsious and was taken to
Kronos where he was trained by various teachers. He had an ability to
predict his opponents next move but could never fully harness that betazoid
ability to read minds. After winning various combat compitions on Kronos, Joe
went around the universe seaching for an equal oppenent. He ended up back on
earth by 18. He felt that there was no better way to search the universe than
joining Starfleet. Again Joe exceled but only oppossed by his temper. He was
number one in tactical, hand to hand combat, and other sports that
required strength and fight. He also was excelled in his medical and
engineering classes. Although he was almost kicked out of the Academy on
various occasions, and he finished in the top ten(only because of his
disobidience). His first assignment was and still it to the Roddenberry and
he is a security officer on the ship.

Special abilities / notes on physiology
Species: Tarake (a type of a Changeling). Tarakians are different from
Founders. While both species can morph into something different, Founders
must rejuvenate (return to gel) every 16 hours. Other than that, Founders
can apparently morph endlessly. Tarakians are different. They can keep a
'solid' form endlessly. However, the action of changing form is very tiring
and cannot be done very often without much rest, and is also made more
difficult by illness or injury. Original location of this species is
unknown, but suspected to be in the Delta Quadrant. Speculation is that some
Tarakians came through an unstable worm hole to the Alpha Quadrant. Their
Home World was a very hot planet - a ringed world with a binary star - two
white dwarfs. The planet was so hot that normal organic life could not
evolve. The Tarakian Changelings came from a small continent at a polar
region -
probably the coolest place on the planet. A group of Tarekians now live in
the Beta Quadrant on an outpost-type colony that is friendly with the
Federation.

Also, Tarakians mature differently than most humanoids. They enter puberty
approximately a decade (sometimes more) later than most humanoid species.
Piqua Bu has not yet officially entered puberty, therefore, she is not very
comfortable with boyfriend/girlfriend scenarios and will not "fall in love"
with anyone (but she does have a strange relationship with Ensign Weirdo).

CAPTAIN'S GIG

ed utility conduits.
The outermost layer is a 1.6 cm sheet of AGP ablative ceramic fabric electron
bonded onto a substrate of 0.20 duranium foil and is formed in segments so it
may be replaced. This makes its natural color flat black. Located around
its position when docked with the Roddenberry are holo-emitters that
continually broadcast a white image of a standard Captain's gig or they can
be set from within the gig to emit an image showing the gig destroyed. These
run off of independent batteries that are not connected through normal ship's
power, but are charged from the gig's own warp engines.
The Captain's gig is capable of being safely deployed at velocities as high
as Warp 9. The systems are designed for a smooth bleed-off of the warp field
until it reaches its normal Warp 2 maximum speed. Unlike most small ships,
it has its own navigational deflector grid, which protects it from
interstellar dust, gas and debris up to 1 m in diameter, as well as up to 5
direct hits fom standard ship mounted disrupters or phasers.
Contains 7 APM (Augmented Personnel Module) EV suits. Each contains a 24
hour consumables supply and enhanced recycling devices with additional
radiation and pressure layers for extended operations. These are usually
used for exterior ship repairs and are extremely comfortable.

middle of five identical quintuplets. Growing up in Calgary, Finn and all of

siblings were all star ice hockey players. Before playing for the Academy
team, the so-called "Sykes Five Plus One" played for the Surrey Eagles, and

While at the Academy, Finn majored in mechanical engineering. Upon
graduation, he was first posted to Starbase 622 as a part of the Corps of
Engineers, helping to complete construction of that starbase. He was then

known for his wise decisions made under pressure which made him a good
lieutenant. Not much was known of his life before he joined Starfleet, but he

Kealdra D'aerthe, a Betazoid who is known among her peers as an exceptional
ambassador has lived the majority of her working very hard at her career. The
daughter of an CMO and a AMO she did not follow the path that her parents
did. Instead she studied under a good friend of her father and learned many
of the foreign cultures outside of her home planet. She is fluent in many
languages and enjoyed the life she was living.

Personal History: Was born on the planet Betazed and raised there until the
age of 10. Leaving with his mother Kealdra and father Dominic, they boarded
the Starship "The Ulysses" where they resided for 1 year. After a year had
passed Seth's mother recieved a letter from her family and pleaded with
Dominic for permission to return to Betazed. Not giving a reason to her for
her leaving, Kealdra soon returned to her homeworld with her husband's
permission. A few years later then news reached Dominic that, Ambassador
Kealdra was killed when the Founders later occupied Betazed. Seth was born
with telepathic abilities which is a rarity for a halfbreed. Because his
mother was no longer alive to teach Seth Betazoid customs and such, he was
taught by a close friend of his mother from age 12 to age 18. He is
fascinated with his telepathic abilities and wishes to further explore them.
From an early

Biography:
Zoe was born in the city of Syciatrizic on the planet Betazed. Her father was
the Betazed Ambassador on Vulcan and her mother was a Chemist. Zoe and her
brother, Alex, spent much of their lifes shuttled between Betazed and Vulcan.
In her teens her parents discovered her extremely high telepathic and
empathic abilities. That along with her high IQ was the reason Zoe entered
the University at a young age. She went to Vulcan University and got her
Bachelor's degree and then decided she really wanted to do something in the
medical field. So she returned to Betazed and completed her Masters and Ph.D.
at the University there. While finishing her Ph.D. she met Phillip who was
already a doctor for Starfleet. He persuaded her to apply to Starfleet
Academy and explore the universe with him. She was accepted and they were
married shortly afterwards. After graduation she was assigned to the same
ship
with Phillip, but since they already had a Doctor she became the Counselor.
As it turned out this was a ship that did secret missions for Starfleet and
the crew consisted mainly of specially trained Marines. She was on the ship,
the USS Wales, for about 4 months when the Captain mutinied from the USS with
the ship. He dropped off the crew who was against this on a deserted planet.
Out of 75 people only 5 survived. Zoe was one of the 5 that was picked
up by the Zeppelin. Phillip had died from a wild animal attacking him which
had devastated Zoe. The Captain of the Zeppelin needed a Counselor and Zoe
needed to keep herself occupied so that she wouldn't fall apart. Six months
later she was assigned to the Gerico as their Counselor. She wasn't happy on
the ship and she blamed it on some crewmates so she transferred to the
Enterprise. She served on that ship for a year or two and was still unhappy.
Zoe finally realized it wasn't the crew or the ship making her unhappy. She
just didn't want to be the Counselor anymore. She had trained to be a Doctor
and that's what she wanted to do so she requested a transfer and was
immediately accepted as the Doctor on the USS Roddenberry. She has been on
the ship about 6 months now and is very happy. Since being on the Roddenberry
she has been promoted to Lt.jg.

Zoe now lives on the Roddenberry on Deck 12 with her Himalayan flywacket,
Elijah bleu. Her brother, Alex, lives on Vulcan and works in the Betazed

Personal History:
Although actually the product of an affair between a Romulan commander and a
Vulcan diplomat's wife, Salina was adopted immediately after her birth and
raised as a Vulcan. She was schooled at home with her half-brother Sevik to
avoid the detection of her true ancestry. Her mother was exiled when the
truth came out, and Salina was bonded to the eldest son of a well-viewed
family at age 13. After he severed the bond to join a monastery, she left
Vulcan for Earth and was accepted into Starfleet Academy. She majored in
Engineering, but decided to pursue piloting instead of engineering after
graduation. However, despite gaining pilot certification her first assignment
was to temporarily act as a nurse onboard the USS Columbia due to a shortage
there.
While on the Columbia, Salina became romantically involved with a fellow
officer and upon discovering that he was in fact a changeling, she helped him
in forcing the ship's Captain to execute a rescue mission to recover the man
he'd replaced. (Note: no charge of mutiny was entered into the record.)
During that mission she was taken captive by Dominion soldiers and replaced
with a clone. The clone, unaware of it's true nature, returned to the
Columbia and became engaged to the man she'd helped rescue, Daniel Mancuso.
After the engagement was broken and the clone miscarried a child, she
transferred to the USS Merlin. The Merlin was later destroyed in a battle,
leaving the clone as one of a handful of survivors. All surviving senior
officers were court-martialed and through negligence found responsible for
the ship's destruction. Busted in rank down to Ensign, the clone
was shipped off on the USS Roddenberry where it eventually began to fail due
to imperfect manufacture and died.
Meanwhile, the real Salina was taken to a different Dominion prison where
she was held in a cell with three other captives - Starfleet officers Adm.
Glen Duheny and Lt. Theodore Stuart, and Klingon Ambassador K'tegh. After
nearly a year in prison, Salina and Theodore were married by Duheny and she
later became pregnant with his child. When the Vorta in charge found out that
Salina was pregnant, she had Theo tortured to death as a punishment and the
baby was taken from Salina immediately after it's birth. A year later with
the conclusion of the Dominion war, the prison was raided and Salina and
Duheny were freed (K'tegh was killed during an attempted escape). Though
reunited with her daughter, Salina gave the child to her paternal
grandparents to be cared for until she had settled in at her new assignment.
She was assigned to the USS Roddenberry, but eventually requested transfer
because
of poor treatment by the crew, who had a hard time accepting her due to the
recent death of her clone there.
Shortly after arriving on the USS Marquesas, she requested transfer again,
this time to Starfleet Headquarters - to be able to live with her daughter
Alpin, on Earth. She taught two classes, Transporter Mechanics and Intro to
Warp Theory, for two semesters there before being forced back into space -
for a second time, to the USS Roddenberry. She took Alpin with her, and is
currently the ship's Chief Engineer.

known for his wise decisions made under pressure which made him a good
lieutenant. Not much was known of his life before he joined Starfleet, but he
cares for his crew and considers them his family.
    Kealdra D'aerthe, a Betazoid who is known among her peers as an
exceptional ambassador has lived the majority of her working very hard at her
career. The daughter of an CMO and a AMO she did not follow the path that her
parents did. Instead she studied under a good friend of her father and
learned many of the foreign cultures outside of her home planet. She was
fluent in many languages and enjoyed the life she was living.

Personal History: Was born on the planet Betazed and raised there until the
age of 10. Leaving with his mother Kealdra and father Dominic, they boarded
the Starship "The Ulysses" where they resided for 1 year. After a year had
passed Seth's mother received a letter from her family and pleaded with
Dominic for permission to return to Betazed. Not giving a reason to her for
her leaving, Kealdra soon returned to her homeworld with her husband's
permission. A few years later then news reached Dominic that, Ambassador
Kealdra was killed when the Founders later occupied Betazed. Seth was born
with telepathic abilities which is a rarity for a half-breed. Because his
mother was no longer alive to teach Seth Betazoid customs and such, he was
taught by a close friend of his mother from age 12 to age 18. He is
fascinated with his telepathic abilities and wishes to further explore them.
From an
early age Seth became fascinated with the medical field. He pursed his study
of medicine watching and spending time in Sick Bay on Dominic's starship,
much to his father's distaste. Since joining Starfleet at the age of 20, in
an effort to pursue his interest in medicine, he and his father have not been
very fond of each other. He has not seen or spoken to his father in 2 yrs.

Original location of this species is unknown, but suspected to be in the
Delta Quadrant. Speculation is that some Tarakians came through an unstable
worm hole to the Alpha Quadrant. Their Home World was a very hot planet - a
ringed world with a binary star - two white dwarfs. The planet was so hot
that normal organic life could not evolve. The Tarakian Changelings came
from a small continent at a polar region - probably the coolest place on the
planet. A group of Tarekians now live in the Beta Quadrant on an
outpost-type colony that is friendly with the Federation.

Also, Tarakians mature differently than most humanoids. They enter puberty
approximately a decade (sometimes more) later than most humanoid species.
Piqua Bu has not yet officially entered puberty, therefore, she is not very
comfortable with boyfriend/girlfriend scenarios and will not "fall in love"
with anyone (but she does have a strange relationship with Ensign Henry
Weirdo).

Menolly is a renowned musician. She has a superb singing voice with a range
of
seven octaves and can play almost any stringed instrument, drums, and several
reed instruments as well. Sister Silvina is married to another Ratekian, who
is a scientist. Silvina was studying to be a scientist but postponed her
career to marry and raise children because she found more fulfillment working
with children than in working with chemicals. However, she does work with
her husband on experiments. Her imagination and creativity are often
invaluable aids to him. Caylith is the youngest sibling and is still in the
Tarakian equivalent of high school.

Piqua Bu was born on a planet not in Federation space. She was born one day
amid much turmoil of her people. She does not remember her birth planet.

Kate was born to Lyndora T'Lara and Darrell VonDoring on Stardate 6422.25
below Mt Selaya, Vulcan. Her mother was a Vulcan Princess and her father was
the Attache to the Terran Ambassador on Vulcan. Kate went through rigorous
training in the emotional control of Surak, and has done exceptionally well.
At the age of 20, she applied to Starfleet Academy, after receiving full
medical honors at the Vulcan Science Academy. Due to the fact that Kate is
very proficient as a doctor, she was unable to pursue her interests in
command. As with most Vulcan's trained in Kohlinar, logic is a basic precept
to further training.

Starfleet Career:
Kate entered Starfleet Academy at the age of 20. After 3 years of  studying
at the Academy, Kate graduated first in his class. After being given command
of the soon to be decommissioned USS Sarek, Kate went on to take Surgical
Techniques course, feeling that medicine was more important than command.
After finishing this course Kate was then assigned to USS Odyssey.  During
Kate's time aboard the Ody she met, worked with and bonded to Sarvok
Cha'Tavek. After having their daughter, Elizabeth Jora, and transferring to
the USS Eclipse, Sarvok disappeared, to reappear aboard the USS Darmok, with
his old love Damara. Since Kate knew Sarvok no longer cared for her, and
wanted to be with Damara, she ended the bond in a ceremony on Vulcan, with
the help of her friends KNuChi and Algar. Soon after, in a special Klingon
ceremony, Kate and KNuChi became blood sisters.  Kate had transferred back to
the Odyssey shortly after Sarvok transferred to the Darmok, where she served
as Chief Science Officer. A short time later Kate was transferred back to her
beloved sickbay as Chief Medical Officer once more.  Kate is worked on
several scientific projects. Genetics has become an avid interest, thanks in
part to a mission to stop a meteorite from hitting Bajor. On one of the

Captain's Log
USS Rodenberry

Somewhere in space.

The Belisarus Mission has been completed.  At least our part in it.  The USS
Odyssey will be staying in orbit above Belisarus for a few weeks.
 Co-ordinating with the newly elected officials, to make sure the new
government is settled in and fully functional.  It seems that when Mister
Packard and I are in
agreement that a situation smells like rotting fish, it does.  Corruption, in
any form, is to be avoided.  When that corruption takes the form of trying to
destroy part of the population, something must be done to stop it.
Genocide is not an accepted practice among the worlds of the Federation, and
I'm happy we could step in and change things, before there were no
traditionals left on Belisarus.  However, the Belisarian government wasn't
the first in history to try to wipe out a targeted group of citizens, nor,
I'm sure, will they be the last.  There are so many examples in history.
 Earth, during their second world war.  Vulcan, just before the coming of
Surak.  The
Klingon homeworld, just to name a few.  They say, history repeats itself, and
everything we've seen in the past few weeks proves it.
We are awaiting orders for the next mission.

Marital Status: Married I was born on the Terran homeworld to a Klingon
mother and a Betazoid
dad. I was raised in the Little Poland district in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, USA. Because of my rather colorful heritage, I have always
been intrigued with languages and cultures. I also have had a struggle
dealing with the aspects of my inner self--conflicting emotions,
identity, etc. I guess that's why I gravitated toward linguistics,
anthropology, and psychology. After graduating with honors (stop laughing!)
from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a BA in psycholinguistics, I taught school for
a while to get a real taste of insanity. I then went to U.C.-Berkely for
an MS in psychology, and received my MD via correspondence course from
Harvard Medical School. Later I moved to San Diego where I met my
husband, David (a human). We were married after a longtime friendship.
We maintain a small apartment near the beach as our home base. My field of
choice was (and is) that of psychiatrist and fashion
designer specializing in chic straitjackets for Psychbay patients. After
additional courses at Starfleet Academy, I was posted to the USS
Roddenberry as counselor on Stardate 9606.15. I served briefly as CMO
after Dr. Valdyr transferred to the USS Eclipse. My husband Dave resides
on the Roddenberry as a civilian and is a freelance graphic designer. I
served briefly on the U.S.S. Fragglerock after a little incident
involving many "special" refreshments, Admiral Kangaroo's shuttle, and
mooning. I was told that I had a very good time, but had to be punished.
I was treated quite well on the Fragglerock and had my own padded cell
which I shared with my pet targ Fluffy. I don't remember much about that
time and prefer to refer to it as "the lost years." And that's all I'm
going to say about that. }};-) I enjoy serving as ship's counselor on the USS
Roddenberry. I am
intuitive, assertive, and have some telepathic skills to varying degrees
(they're not always consistant, which makes for an interesting life). My
sense of humor is on the wacky side, so I can strongly relate to the
rest of the crew, many of whom reside from time to time in Psychbay. My
interests include, but are not limited to, the following:

Kelum
A group of Tarakians now live in the Beta Quadrant on an outpost-type colony
that is friendly with the Federation. They are not yet officially members of
the United Federation of Planets, but they do have a trading agreement with
them. This outpost colony is a beach paradise. It has a great deal of water
(83.4%). The planet is twice the size of Earth. A fair amount of the land
is tropical, with beaches and plenty of palm trees. The 'colonists'
have been building an underwater colony because the land masses are too
dangerous due to the local plant and animal life. Underwater seemed to be
the safest route. Some of the plants have poisonous spores that shoot out at
any movement (similar to an overly aggressive fly trap - also I think TOS had
an episode with plants that shot spores at people). There are other
hazardous plants and animals also. One thing to remember is that some things
are
hazardous to some species but not to others.

Bu considers this world to be her home world because she has virtually no
memory of the original planet. One reason Bu wanted to leave this home world
and join Starfleet is because Bu is afraid of water.

Bu's oldest sister Silvina is married to another Tarakian, who is a
scientist. Silvina also is a scientist but postponed her career to marry and
raise children because she found more fulfillment working with children than
in working with chemicals. However, she continued working with her husband
on experiments. Her imagination and creativity are often invaluable aids to
him. In a long and happy marriage, this wonderful couple have had six
children: Oregano, Turmeric, Garlic, Thyme, Lemon, and Chives.

What induced Silvina to go back to working full time was the 'death' of
Turmeric, one of her six children, to Samonopea. Samonopea is a genetic
disease that a Tarakian might get when their body doesn't properly adjust to
entering puberty. It is not contagious and is species specific. It is
thought to be the result of a mutant DNA strand. The first stage is
characterized by weakness and a loss of morphing ability. If treated with
proper
nutrition, it is followed by remission, which can last from two months to two
years. The second stage is characterized by loss of solid form. The
Tarakian will turn into goo. At this point, they are usually put into a
bucket to preserve their essence.

Silvina and her husband are currently stationed at a Top Secret Research
Station. All information on this station is classified and only divulged on
a need to know basis.

the land masses are too dangerous due to the local plant and animal life.
Underwater seemed to be the safest route. Some of the plants have poisonous
spores that shoot out at any movement (similar to an overly aggressive fly
trap - also I think TOS had an episode with plants that shot spores at
people). There are other hazardous plants and animals also. One thing to
remember is that some things are hazardous to some species but not to others.

Bu considers this world to be her home world because she has virtually no
memory of the original planet. One reason Bu wanted to leave this home world
and join Starfleet is because Bu is afraid of water.

Also, Tarakians mature differently than most humanoids. They enter puberty
approximately a decade (sometimes more) later than most humanoid species.
Piqua Bu has not yet officially entered puberty, therefore, she is not very
comfortable with boyfriend/girlfriend scenarios and will not "fall in love"
with anyone (but she does have a strange relationship with Ensign Weirdo).

Other: I don't know what to put here! She doesn't have a pet … yet … but
she wants a dog very, very, very much.

General Family Info: The Bu family is very loving and extremely supportive
of each other. The Bu family believes in offering a great deal of
encouragement to each other. Brother Zigeth has developmental disabilities,
so the rest of the family supports him. We do so because we all love and
care for each other, so we just naturally want to support each other. Sister
Menolly is a renowned musician. She has a superb singing voice with a range
of
seven octaves and can play almost any stringed instrument, drums, and several
reed instruments as well. Sister Silvina is married to another Ratekian, who
is a scientist. Silvina was studying to be a scientist but postponed her
career to marry and raise children because she found more fulfillment working
with children than in working with chemicals. However, she does work with
her husband on experiments. Her imagination and creativity are often
invaluable aids to him. Caylith is the youngest sibling and is still in the
Tarakian equivalent of high school.

Personal History
Piqua Bu was born on a planet not in Federation space. She was born one day
amid much turmoil of her people. She does not remember her birth planet.
Her parents, particularly her mother (Moreta), loved flying in space.

Pre-Academy Education
Life on Rateka was filled with education and love from the moment of birth.
All Ratekians prize children. Crime was very rare - it simply is not in the
psychological make-up of most Ratekians to be criminals.
