assault, was grazed with a phaser blast and admitted to sickbay. Recovered
for three weeks and was

Tour-of-Duty, he received word of his fathers death back on Earth. Took a
LOA for six months and returned ready for reassignment.

Starfleet:
Assigned to the Sovereign class vessel USS Eclipse as a Tactical/Security
officer under the leadership of (acting) Captain Morgane and (acting) First
officer Lieutenant Commander Haven. Eventually placed under the command of
Captain Xiva who is to be a permanent captain.
Became close friends with some fellow officers, including Ensign Shinn and
Lieutenant Commander Haven. Eventually Shinn was transfered off and is
currently serving his duty on a seperate vessel. Lieutenant Commander Haven
resigned from the ship and Commander Semino took over as acting First
Officer. First officer position finally granted to Commander Blake
permanently.
While still serving as Tactical officer onboard the Eclipse, a metallurgical
virus infected the ship's hull, eventually destruying the ship. All crew but
five were rescued, and shoreleave was granted to the surviving crew until a
replacement Eclipse could be found.
Transfered to Modified Nebula-class USS Roddenberry NCC 1991-B as tactical
officer.

PERSONAL HISTORY:
Randall Floyd was born in Betazed on 2349. Soon after he was given up for
adoption and became the new baby of Curtis and Debbie Floyd. To this day
Randy still has no knowledge of his birth parents, nor does he wish to have
anything to do with them. Shortly after his birth and his adoption, Randy
and his new parents relocated to Long Beach, California on Earth.
By age 7 Randy was attending public schools in Long Beach. Even at a young
age he was exceptionally bright and by the time he was 8, Randy advanced 4
grades. Of all the subjects that Randy learned, the one that most intrigued
him was Earth history, mainly around the mid to late 20th century era. The
kids at school even went as far to give Randy the nickname "Pink" after the
20th century rock band Pink Floyd. Ever since then, the name stuck.
Once at the age of 10, Randy was all ready half way through high school
and developed in his telepathic abilities. Even though Randy was only 10, he
managed to make plenty of friends, some didn't even know his real name, most
just knew him by Pink. Most people also knew of him as being a bit on the
odd side too. Randy always had unique philosophies about everything and a
weird way of doing things that made people think he was not all there, so to
speak.
Randy finally graduated high school by the age of 12 and many encouraged him
to apply for Starfleet, even his parents. Randy was hesitant at first but
soon decided to go for it. Many laughed at him too for applying at such a
young age but he did it and was accepted, but not before a long debate by
Starfleet Academy. By the age of 13, Pink was a first year cadet and on his
way to a long career. He managed to make a name for himself around the
Academy after he was dared by a couple of 4th year cadets to "streak" across
Academy grounds and right in front of the Commandants office. Of course, he
was caught was and put on probation by the Academy directors.
Randy's time at the Academy went by fast and soon his graduation day came.
He managed to graduate in the top 10% of his class and was promoted to Ensign
at the age of 16. So far he's said to be the youngest person to graduate
Starfleet Academy.
Even though Randy was qualified in many areas, he was unsure of where to go.
He knew space was a dangerous place, especially for a 16 year-old boy.
Finally, he decided on the Starbase 84 near the Federation/Klingon border and
became a pilot, shipping cargo to and from outposts near the Starbase and
occasionally a few Klingon colonies along the border.
As time went on, Randy stayed Starbase 84 and began to think of it as home.
He was recognized very highly by his superiors and tried his best at
everything he did. By his third year aboard Starbase 84 Randy was appointed
Assistant Operations Manager by his Commanding Officer at SB 84, Captain Tim
Selby. Operations was a big change for him but he managed and learned very
quickly from the help of superiors and within a year he was promoted to
Lieutenant, Jr. Grade.
By this time, Randy was starting to develop feelings for one of his
superiors. Her name was Violet Walker. She was a First Lt. and Chief of
Security. Violet also happened to be quite older than Randy, by about 8
years. Luckily for Pink, the feelings were mutual and they began a
relationship. Several years went by and by the time Pink was 25 he was
offered a promotion and a position at the Utopia Planetia Yards. He
responded immediately and
took the job but to his dismay Violet stayed behind to remain on Starbase 84
and their relationship ended.
The next couple of years were great for Pink. He got to spend his days
doing what he loved best. Of all the new projects, such as fighters,
shuttles, etc., It was Pink's job to test fly and give them a shake down
cruise. Even though Pink was having the time of his life, he still missed
what he called home, Starbase 84. Pink finally got word of the death of
several senior officers at the SB and Pink returned immediately and took over
as Chief
Engineer.
Two years passed and Pink was still CEO of Starbase 84 and he found for the
first time in his life he was actually bored with his job. Pink felt he
needed a change of scenery and applied for a transfer. He didn't care where,
just as long as he went someplace new. When his orders finally came back to
him he found himself assigned to the USS Roddenberry, NCC-1991-B as the
Assistant Chief of Security.

Personal History: Candrina Arment’s past is unclear and and unless she tells,
not to be found out. Starfleet records show she was the first born on an
isolated Starfleet colony, Akeba. She was the oldest child in the colony.
Records also show that she had a brother one year younger by the name of
Camyron and two younger sisters, Aiyana, four years younger, and Milena,
twelve years younger. When Candrina was fourteen years old the colony was
attacked and destroyed. By the time Starfleet officials arrived all signs of
life were gone. They believe all the members of the colony were killed,
since several skeletal remains were found. Due to the colony’s far distance
from any civilization no one knows who did it or why. Seven years years
later Candrina Arment applied to Starfleet Academy and refused to answer any
questions about her past. For the four years she was at the Academy she
spent any free time off campus at an unknown location and on breaks it is
known that she left Earth. She also has several pets that she has occasionly
brough to the Academy, but it unclear of how many or of what kind. It is
unknown what happen in the seven years she was gone as no records can be
found of her existence.

Personality: Candrina, for reasons unkown, is a very private person. She
stays away from social situations, although she interacts well with others.
She has very few known friends and it is my belief she has friends that she
does not interact with when others are around. She has a wide array several
pets which she is extremely close to. I would describe her as stubborn and
she sticks up for what she thinks is right. During her time at the
Academy she was very agressive when provoked and was reprimanded on several
occasions. I doubt that she ever initiated the fights. On the job she is
very cool, responsible, and professional.

An-mei Ponderra was born Stardate 57711.25 to Jing Woo and Joseph
Ponderra. The Ponderra's lived on Hujonst, which was a small colony on a
nearby Federation Scientific Base. However, upon discovering that Jing was
pregnant, the two returned to China, Earth.
In her early years, An-mei was fascinated by the concept of being a
doctor. She was a very bright student and had planned on attending Earth's
most exclusive medical school. However, after a chance meeting with Doctor
Beverly Crusher, she decided to enter Starfleet Academy.
As a young child, An-mei Ponderra grew up much like any earth child

Biography -
B'Bahm is the first ever Klingon warrior to resign his commission as an
officer in the Klingon Defense Force and the Yan-Isleth to pursue a career in
Starfleet. While his father K'Pow is of average size, his grandfather
B'Blahm was the same size B'Bahm is now. His father named him after his own
father, because the similarity was so strikingly obvious between the two,
even at birth. The only obvious difference being B'Bahm's blood is more
Vulcan
than Klingon, he bleeds green, instead of normal Klingon lavender. He does
have the normal Klingon Brak'lul internally though.
As a child he was fond of his pet grishnar cat, but didn't like sharing it
with his younger brother Veego. To teach him to get along with Veego, his
mother made B'Bahm take him with whenever he went out. His mother had also
been attempting to school him in the Vulcan discipline of Kolinahr. It
appeared to be working well, until something that happened several months
later. Two adult male warriors had been insulting Veego with particular
vehemence, because of his size and Vulcan appearance. Unable to contain
himself, B'Bahm killed both warriors in a fit of rage, not only killed them,
but pretty much nearly tore them apart too.
His father was so proud he pulled strings and immediately had him removed
from the Ogat Training Academy and enrolled in the Klingon Defense Forces,
B'Bahm was 15 at the time and 10 cm short of his full height. Over the next
10 years, he had a couple more incidents, but also earned a reputation as a
well-trustable and excellent engineer. On his 26th birthday, he got posted
as an engineer aboard the Chancelor's ship, the IKS Gik'tal, a
Vor'cha-class attack cruiser and flagship of the Imperial Fleet. Within 5
years he had worked up to the position of Chief of Engineering and also was
working as a part of the Chancelor's personal guard of Yan-Isleth with his
father.
He continued along this path for another 2 years, before the incident that
would forever change him. While they were doing a survey of the Devolin
System, a Federation vessel hailed the Gik'tal and demanded to come aboard
and do a Health & Safety Inspection. B'Bahm was offended that they wanted to
begin in engineering, but would be present to see if he couldn't humiliate
them with his spotless department. What materialized there wasn't a
Federation crew, instead there was 15 Jem'Hadar Special Forces warriors.
By the time K'Pow and the other Yan-Isleth warriors arrived, the battle was
over. All 15 Jem'Hadar Special Forces warriors were already scattered
throughout the destroyed main engineering area, the entire crew was dead and
B'Bahm seemed to be kneeling unmoving in the middle of the room, meditating
in the Vulcan Kolinahr manner his mother had taught him. Only K'Pow entered
the abbatoir and went to his son. B'Bahm wasn't meditating, both of his
eyes had been gouged out during the battle and destroyed underfoot. Their
doctor did what he could, but in the end B'Bahm ended up with two full
occular implants, from the Federation.
What really surprised everyone except his mother, he decided not to do the
Hegh'bat ceremony and instead went to Starfleet Academy, resigning his still
active officer's commission and position in the process. His father and more
tradition oriented brothers are still debating his decision and will not
speak to him. His mother and Veego were fully supportive of the idea at the
time.

Duty Record -
B'Bahm graduated at the top of his class at the Engineering Academy and got
the Cochrane Medal of Excellence for building a working Interphase Generator,
that is now being checked out for possible distribution throughout Starfleet.
He should have a very promising career ahead of him.

History: He was born in San Francisco while his father was on High Command as
a Vice- Admiral who was later Admiral and Fleet Admiral further information
on him his highly classified. Nathaniel wanted to become an admiral just like
his father. So at age 17 enrolled in StarFleet Academy

Biography:
Kate was born to Lyndora T'Lara and Darrell VonDoring on Stardate 6422.25
below Mt Selaya, Vulcan. Her mother was a Vulcan Princess and her father was
the Attache to the Terran Ambassador on Vulcan. Kate went through rigorous
training in the emotional control of Surak, and has done exceptionally well.
At the age of 20, she applied to Starfleet Academy, after receiving full
medical honors at the Vulcan Science Academy. Due to the fact that Kate is
very proficient as a doctor, she was unable to pursue her interests in
command. As with most Vulcan's trained in Kohlinar, logic is a basic precept
to further training.

Starfleet Career:
Kate entered Starfleet Academy at the age of 20. After 3 years of studying
at the Academy, Kate graduated first in his class. After being given command
of the soon to be decommissioned USS Sarek, Kate went on to take Surgical
Techniques course, feeling that medicine was more important than command.
After finishing this course Kate was then assigned to USS Odyssey. During
Kate's time aboard the Ody she met, worked with and bonded to Sarvok
Cha'Tavek. After having their daughter, Elizabeth Jora, and transferring to
the USS Eclipse, Sarvok disappeared, to reappear aboard the USS Darmok, with
his old love Damara. Since Kate knew Sarvok no longer cared for her, and
wanted to be with Damara, she ended the bond in a ceremony on Vulcan, with
the help of her friends KNuChi and Algar. Soon after, in a special Klingon
ceremony, Kate and KNuChi became blood sisters. Kate had transferred back to
the Odyssey shortly after Sarvok transferred to the Darmok, where she served
as Chief Science Officer. A short time later Kate was transferred back to her
beloved sickbay as Chief Medical Officer once more. Kate is worked on
several scientific projects. Genetics has become an avid interest, thanks in
part to a mission to stop a meteorite from hitting Bajor. On one of the

Personal History

Lori did not grow up in a happy home. All through her life her parents
fought with one another. As a little girl, she and her older brother Kurt
would hide in his closest in attempts to block out the angry voices of their
parents. This conflict grew until their mother Aili left, not able to take
any more physical and emotional abuse. Lori was five when her parent's
divorced. She has little
recollection of the events leading up to her parent's divorce.
A few months later Lori's parents divorced. Her mother gained custody, and
shortly remarried to Matthew Lowder. Aili Lowder gave birth to Lori's half
sister only three months later. When news of this reached Lori's father
Justin, he committed suicide.
As she continued to grow up, Lori began to realize that Matthew Lowder was
the only father she had really had. While her brother Kurt distrusted
Matthew, Lori loved him very much. Her stepfather adopted Lori and Kurt two
years after Justin's death.
Life began to feel normal after a few years had gone by. Unfortunately,
tragedy struck again when Lori turned fifteen. A shuttle accident had killed
their mother, Aili. Due to his dislike of Matthew, Kurt took his sister Lori
with him to San Francisco. There, he joined Starfleet Academy. Lori got a job
on campus to help support their little family. She was however, heartbroken
that Matthew had not wanted to keep Lori after her mother's death. This
caused Lori and Kurt to become extremely close.
By the time Lori had turned eighteen, she was more than ready to join
Starfleet. She threw herself into the piloting program, and emerged a very
successful starship and Starfighter pilot. Her brother now serves on Deep
Space Seven, and Lori serves on the U.S.S. Roddenberry.

BEGIN LOG
As we continued to stay away from the cube, Commander Ray came over to me
and informed me that we would work together to find out why the Borg were so
interested in the planet.
We discussed certain hypothesis and I came up with the idea that the planet
was once a homeworld of the Borg. It might possibly have been before the Borg
started assimilating for a collective. That would explain why there were many
incredibly old cities on the planet. The massive generator possibly powered a
cloaking device and a transwarp drive. This could get the planet dangerously
close to Earth or any other planet. The other thing is that it
might be able to fire while cloaked, rendering it infinitly lethal.
The commander ordered me to scan the planet for lifeforms. The results,
4,000 borg. I had never seen such a massive amount of Borg in a single
location. They were all localized in one location, the ancient city that we
had previously searched.
Since there was no way to prove that they were loyal to the borg or if they

Begin Log: We have somehow encountered a Borg cube that is in orbit around a
planet that shows life signs of 4,000 Borgs on it. The cube doesn't seem
interested in the planet or vice versa. The ship has been damaged somewhat
by the Cube, but we have managed to damage it as well. I have been doing
inventory on my latest shipment of pain killers. Once again I came up short
almost 2 cases worth. Jay came down at my request and then something
strange happened. I lost all my defenses against the Borg and their
collective minds. Jay did something and when I came around again I was fine
and he was no where to be seen. This is very strange and needs to be checked
out. I also am going to have to do drug tests on every crew member to see
if we have an addict on board.

Jonas Brent maintained a relatively high GPA in high school and spent the
majority of his off time on the beach surfing. Upon high school
graduation, Jonas Brent received a letter of acceptance to Star Fleet Academy
where he graduated Star Date 0005.15 as Ensign Jonas Brent and received his
first posting to USS Roddenberry.

Cervith: Scientists have concluded that the age of Cervith is around
400,000,000 years old.
It is a class M world according to StarFleet specifications, and is able to
support life.
Its sun is a White Star, partially attributing to the unique atmosphere of
the planet.

Cervith is the second of three planets in its system. It's orbit takes close
to twice as long to orbit it's sun as Terra does orbitting Sol. This long
orbit is due to the perfect circle orbit it takes rather then a more oval
shape such as Terra. Cervith's distance from its sun is always the same
distance away, and as well as its two sister planets.
This steady circular orbit consists of a steady climate. There are no
seasons. It's average day to day temperature is 15 degrees Celsuis at the
equator.

Cervithians: The average lifespan of a Cervithian is 1 year (One solar
cycle). Some have lived to be 1.2. The oldest recorded Cervithian lived to be
1.34 years old. ((2.68 Federation standard years old))
Ceverithians mature in 4 months after birth. Their high metabolism and
genetics allow them to fully grow and become an adult (18 Standard years
old)) at the age of 5 months.
300,150,748 years ago, as recorded by history, life first evolved on Cervith.
From there humuniods then evolved in a few billion years. The culture of the
Cervithians always strived for scientific exploration. This perhaps explains
for the rather quick advances that the inhabitants made. Coexistance lasted
for millions of years, without so much as a battlefield brawl.

Social Structure Due to the natives short lifespan, citizenship is not
declared until a Cervithian has gone through transplants and installations of
certain equipment. Not until cellregenerating nanoprobes and some other gear
have been intalled that increase their lifespan and performance do
Cervithians obtain citizenship. Before these alterations are obtained, a
native of Cervith may learn about their world and live, but will not be
protected by their government when attacked or let them be involved in the
progression of science.
Due to the virtual absence of violence on the planet, an informal law has
been developed and allows for more laws to be written as needed.
As science and techonology advanced, the Cervithians began to use computers
more and more and then started to focus on microscopic programming and
hardware. Probes the size of blood cells were created and used to better
explore the body. Technology further developed to the point where the
natives could use nanoprobes and hardware to add implants to their bodies for
increased performance and life. Science has proven that cell regenerators
can allow
for a being to live indefinately, perhaps forever if desired. This
technology allows for the dismissal of natural death. People using this
technology can certainly die, but with the current level of desease treatment
and nanoprobe technology, everything from the cold, to cancers, organ
failures, even organ transplants seem ancient history.
As technology advanced further, disputes began to develop has to how far they
should proceed into making man and machine one. Two main beliefs became two
main factions. The H.C.C. (Human-Computer Cooperation) Faction believed that
humans and machine should work together and strive to become better together;
and the B.O.R.G. (Beyond Our Rightful Genetics) Faction believed that man and
machine should become one, that the unification would be the
greatest achievement nature could make. Controversy then overwhelmed the
peaceful planet.
The B.O.R.G. Faction wanted to prove to the H.C.C. that they were right, so
they set off to space to make it so. They returned to Cervith twice to
report how they successful they were. Both times they tried to destroy the
people they had left, and both times the inhabitants were able to defend
themselves against the Borg.

EYES: Right Eye has optical stimulants and implants enabling visibility using

telescopic implants. Both eyes are able to work together in darkness and
light, focussing on small to far away objects.
ARMS: Right arm equipped with phased energy weapon. Left forarm equipped with
a hidden compartment allowing storage for metalic weapons. Both arms have
muscular hydrolics enabling increased strength.
TORSO has empty compartment allowing for a storage compartment. Outer skin
has been covered with an exoskeleton structure, preventing most known means
of penetration.
LEGS: Left and Right legs have hydrilic compressors installed allowing for
fast running and far jumping. Has Rocket Thrusters on the bottom of feet for
arial maneuvers.
BRAIN: Brain has been altered for increased memory, effiency, and processing.
An internal communicator allows for communication to anyone also equipped
with such a communicator at random frequencies.

PERSONAL HISTORY
Byrk was born into the clan of Grey as the 17th member. He started schooling
at the age of .3 (Cervithian) years old, and upon maturity and at the age of
.5 years old, he elected to join the HUMAN-COMPUTER COOPERATION (HCC)
faction. There he served as a scienctist, until he left at the age of .8 to
undergo genetic surgery and had cell regenerators installed into his body.
From there, many installations and additions
took place until he became a full fledged citizen of Cervith at the age of
1.4. At the age of 3.5, his mother left Cervith with the BEYOND OUR RIGHTFUL
GENETICS Faction. He has never seen her again.
At the age of 178.5 the B.O.R.G. Faction returned. Fought in the war, and was
a key role in the successful defense of Cervith.
Byrk continued researching computer systems and programs and advanced the
technology of the Cervithian culture considerably, and was a prominent
speaker for the planetary transwarp drive. And retired from active duty at
the age of 438.7.
At the age of 531.1, the BORG returned again, this time the faction attempted
to destroy the planet itself and its inhabitants rather then assimilate them.
The homeworlders again won the battle, but not before 2 of its 3 main cities
were destroyed and the third heavily damaged. 5 subcities now remain intact
on the planet and the 3 main cities are being rebuilt.

Byrk has no children and is considered single.

PROPULSION SYSTEMS

The Roddenberry, designed and built by R&D specialists including USFBR&D
Senior Director Alexander O'Brien, is the conglomeration of proven and new
technologies recently made available to USF vessels. The Modified Nebula
class was deemed acceptable as a testbed vessel, and after several major
upgrades, systems refits and installations, and structural modifications, the
Nebula Advanced class was born.
The Roddenberry is one of few Starfleet vessels to incorporate a dual warp
core assembly. This new approach, finally made possible by several major
leaps in technology, allows for a substantial increase in power availability,
as well as the security of being able to lose a warp core. Both warp cores,
to facilitate maximum power production, contain dilithium focus lenses.
Seperate M/ARC ejection and isolation systems have been installed, and while
the two cores are run by a central operations system, there are auxiliary
support systems for each seperate core. Engineering is in no way dissimilar
to that of a Nebula class starship, save that instead of the one central warp
core, there are now the two cores symmetrically positioned 3.5 meters apart.
The Roddenberry implements the use of two warp nacelles, as is standard on
most Starfleet vessels; however, each one is much more powerful and efficient
than those of the original Nebula class. Each M/ARC supports the nacelle on
it's side. The port warp core supplies power to the port warp nacelle,
starboard to starboard.


NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEMS

Due to the speeds the Roddenberry must keep up and the implementation of the
navigational deflectors, more powerful and efficient navigational systems are
required.
The navigational deflectors have been increased in power by 201% over the
rated maximum of a Modified Nebula class to counter objects impacting the
ship at higher relative velocities. Also, the navigational deflectors
decrease stress on the warp nacelle support pylons, in conjunction with the
structural integrity fields.
In addition, the navigational sensor array has been upgraded to support
near-transwarp velocities, continually scanning 360 by 360 degrees every 3.9
picoseconds, and feeding the information directly into the primary
navigational subprocessors.


TACTICAL/DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS

TACTICAL MULTITASKING:

Weapons system multitasking allows the ship to fire more than one type of
weapon at once. It sends weapon signals along diverted routes so that they
don't cross each other and confuse themselves. The multitasking system is the
primary operation system for tactical.
The "fire at will" system transfers total control of tactical systems to the
computer in battle situations. It is a "last chance" system, designed so that
the ship locks onto all enemy targets and fires continuous barrage until
ordered to pause the enemy is destroyed, or the ship which is operating "fire
at will" is destroyed. If paused for 2 min., the system will automatically
deactivate. This system is controlled by the automation system and
operated by the multitasking program.
Tactical analysis of all systems is a function which gives the Tac. officer
up-to-the-minute information on all systems, and increases operation speed of
the weapons system. A screen on the tactical station's panel offers the
information on each system as requested, or shows pertinent tactical
information, such as phaser power, torpedo readiness, reserves, and how many
of each type are available. Also, extended information on shield strength and
power, damage control, security readiness, and power reserves for diversion
to tactical systems. This is another advantage of the multitasking system.
The newest addition to the multitasking system is a new weapon targeting
system. The system will display a grid on the tactical panel which will
display the information on the configuration of the enemy vessel, such as the
locations of its critical systems and areas (such as main power, weapons
systems, etc.) This allows the Tac. officer to target a specific area of
space or a specific point on the enemy ship on which to fire. A weapon select
screen
appears, allowing choice of phasers, ion blasts, torpedoes, which kind, and
strength.
In addition to the multitasking system, the Roddenberry supports multiple
weapon power systems. Besides extremely powerful phasers and photon
torpedoes, there are optional energy supplies for different weapon effects.
These will be discussed later.

SHIELDS & DEFLECTOR:

The deflector system is the primary defensive system on all classes of
starships. It is a series of powerful deflector shields that protect both the
spacecraft and its crew from both natural and artificial hazards.
Like most force field devices, the deflector system creates a localized zone
of highly focused spatial distortion within which an energetic graviton field
is maintained. The deflector field itself is emitted and shaped by a series
of conformal transmission grids on the spacecraft exterior, resulting in a
field that closely follows the form of the vehicle itself. The field is
highly resistive due to mechanical incursions ranging from relativistic
subatomic particles to more massive objects at lesser relative velocities.
When such an intrusion occurs, field energy is concentrated at the point of
impact, creating an intense, localized spatial distortion.
To an observer aboard the Roddenberry, it appears that the intruding object
has "bounced off" the shield. A zero-dimensional observer on the intruding
object would, however, perceive that his/her trajectory is unaffected, but
that the location of the starship has suddenly changed. This is somewhat
analogous to the spatial distortion created by a natural gravity well, and is
typically accompanied by a momentary discharge of Cerenkov radiation, often
perceived as a brief blue flash. The deflector is also effective against wide
range of electromagnetic, nuclear, and other radiated and field energies.
The deflector systems utilizes one or more graviton polarity source
generators whose output is phase-synchronized through a series of subspace
field distortion amplifiers. Flux energy for the Primary Hull is generated by
7 field generators located on deck 10. The Nebula class starships had 5
generators on deck 10. Four additional generators are located on the
Secondary Hull, as opposed to the three found on regular Nebula class
starships. Two
additional generators are located in each of the warp nacelles. The
Roddenberry includes 4 backup generators if any of them fail in a crisis
situation. Each generator consists of a cluster of thirteen 46 MW graviton
polarity sources feeding a pair of 680 millicochrane subspace field
distortion amplifiers.
Providing shielding against the entire spectrum of electromagnetic radiation
would prove far to energy-costly for normal cruise mode use. Additionally, a
full-spectrum shielding would prevent onboard sensors from gathering many
types of scientific and tactical data. Instead, Cruise Mode operate at the
relatively low level (approximately 5% of rated output) and at the specific
frequency bands necessary to protect the spacecraft's habitable volume to
SFRA-standard 347.3 levels for EM and nuclear radiation. During Alert
situations, shields are raised to defensive configuration by increasing
generator power to at least 85% of rated output.
The metaphasic shield was introduced about 3 years ago by a Ferengi
scientist. However, with recent improvements made by Starfleet has made the
type one metaphasic shield seem obsolete. By using the main deflector dish we
have been able to enhance the metaphasic shield. The new metaphasic shield
has been classified as the Type II metaphasic shield which operates at 225%
of optimal compared to the old metaphasic shield. It allows the ship to stay
in
standard orbit around a star for generally around 24 hours before the
radiation penetrates the shield.

The following modifications to the shields were proposed by the late
Johnathan Drake, Computer Resource Officer, and approved and implemented by
Chief Engineer Ray Packard and Acting Captain Jalilar Valdyr on Stardate
9806.27:

1. Liquid Crystal shields- generate two thin high powered force fields around
the ship, then flood the space between them (About three centimeters) with
gaseous quartzite. The low temperatures in space should liquefy the gas. It
will stay in liquid form because of the heat of the force shields. If the
outer shield is punctured, the crystal will immediately solidify, and become
totally impregnable. We would have to fly near a star to get it off of us.
If that happens the ups are that no enemy weapon of any kind or any
transporter beam can penetrate it. the down side is that the same goes for
us...nothing gets out. This would come in handy later. I suggest we run with
this one if we get into dire straights.
2. Atomic modulation of the Shield frequency. - The shields are generated by
exciting molecular particles with a High energy plasma stream. If we modulate
the Plasma stream to the higher frequency band, we'll get a different
modulation...maybe one that we can keep up in the bad lands. Also if we swap
out the dilithium particles in the shield emitters with some Calcium bromide,
we'll get a whole new shield configuration, one that I know will work in
the Badlands.
3. De-evolution of the shields- The Constitution class starship shield design
allowed for tuning of the shield frequency to a specific energy pattern, to
keep it out. In later ships (Excelsior and up) the shields were designed with
a broader scope. they try to keep everything out. If we reprogram the shields
with a constitution configuration, we could tune them to the energy pattern
of the Badlands.

ARMORED HULL:

The Roddenberry incorporates an advanced design in hull armoring that has not
until recently become possible. Early starships were painted with a light
grey thermocoat, coloring the ship as well as adding a minimal level of
armor, and protecting the primary hull exterior from heat effects. However,
this process was eliminated as of the refit of the Enterprise, having been
found that the thermocoat added little protection, but added several thousand
more tons to the weight of the ship.
The increased strength of the hull is due mostly to the discovery of a new
material, quadmium alloy. This alloy is considerably more resilient than
duranium or duranium composites. Also, included in the alloy are small
amounts of superinsulative material thus reducing the effectiveness of most
energy weapons, and decreasing heat damage. Finally, the hull is made to
ablate to ablate rather than rupture, thus allowing it to last longer,
especially
under the incendiary detonations of photon torpedoes.


PHASERS:

As installed in the original Nebula class, the main ship's phasers were rated
as type X, which were once was the largest emitter available for starships.
They were capable of producing 5.1 megawatts. The next generation of
shipboard phasers, the XII (installed on the Roddenberry), is capable of
directing 11.6 megawatts, dramatically increasing damage inflicted upon an
opposing spacecraft. These are new phasers designed by the USF Bureau of
Research
and Development for use on all USF vessels, replacing the now obsolete Type X
arrays. The USS Roddenberry carries slightly upgraded models of the newly
designed phasers. In addition, the Roddenberry carries two Type XII-A
subspace multifrequency phaser array prototypes. This weapons system has yet
to see widespread testing, but it is believed the effectiveness of the new
array will be proven by its installation on board Roddenberry. Presently,
technical information on the Type XII-A phaser array is restricted to
authorized personnel only.
The XII phaser banks are located on the battle section aft array, nacelle
plyon array, and the battle section ventral array. The Type XII-A phaser
arrays replaced their Type XII counterparts on the saucer dorsal and ventral
areas, thus bringing this new weapon to bear immediately on all targets.
A typical large phaser array aboard the original USS Nebula consisted of two
hundred emitter segments in a dense linear arrangement for optimal control of
firing order, thermal effects, field halos, and target impacts. The USS
Roddenberry is carrying in the large phaser arrays the increased number of
three hundred fifty emitter segments, capable of improving the overall
performance of the phaser system. Groups of emitters are supplied by
redundant
sets of energy feeds from the primary trunks of the electro plasma system
(EPS), and are similarly interconnected by fire control, thermal
management, and sensor lines. The visible hull surface configuration of the
phaser is a long shallow raised strip, the bulk of the hardware submerged
within the vehicle frame.
The first stage of the array segment is the EPS submaster flow regulator, the
principal mechanism controlling phaser power levels for firing. The flow
regulator leads into the plasma distribution manifold (PDM), which branches
into two hundred supply conduits to an equal number of prefire chambers. The
final stage of the system is the phaser emitter crystal.
The ion blasts disable most ship's systems by ionizing the power systems.
This renders affected systems inoperable, but not destroyed. The effects of
ionic flooding dissapate over time, and no known remedy has yet been found.
Also, these blasts have the effect of activating plasma coils, which are used
in cloaking devices. The cloaking device would engage, thus rendering the
ship vulnerable for a short time.


QUANTUM TORPEDOES:

The standard photon torpedo carried by the Nebula class is elongated,
eliptical tube, constructed of molded and expanded duranium and plasma bonded
terminium outer skin. The complete casing of the Nebula class torpedoes
measured 2.1 x 0.76 v 0.45 meters and masses 247.5 kilograms dry weight. The
new quantum torpedoes installed with Roddenberry has the same dimensions of
the previous photon torpedoes, but the weight has decreased from 247.5
kilograms
to 232.0 kilograms, utilizing a new propulsion system that decreases weight,
yet increases maximum effective tactical range to 5,525,000 kilometers. The
torpedoes are designed so that with a few adjustments to existing hardware,
any class starship is able to use them.
Nebula Advanced class photon torpedoes use a multimode sustainer engine that
is capable of almost breaking the warp barrier. The Roddenberry quantum
torpedoes have engine modifications that decrease weight, as above, and
slightly increase speed and target accuracy. Accuracy is rated to have
collision within 0.59 meters of the true target or closer.
The actual firing operation occurs in 4 launcher tubes, 2 in the forward
section of the AWACS package mounted on the secondary hull, and two in the
aft section of Deck 31
Each launcher is downstream from six loader stations where the M/A fuels are
injected six torpedoes at one time in the new Roddenberry.
Also, a high-energy plasma generator has been installed to interact with the
torpedo systems, and may be used to charge torpedoes instead. The plasma
torpedoes have a more profound effect on shields, draining those defenses
much faster then standard torpedoes. Also, the shield generators would
eventually sustain plasma shock and be disabled. Plasma shock causes minimal
permanent damage to the generators, but takes an extended period of time to
wear
off. Plasma torpedoes, though one of the most effective shield smashers
available, cause negligible damage to the hull, and especially to armored
hulls such as that of the Roddenberry. Minor burn damage and almost no chance
of hull penetration are the extent of plasma torpedoes, though exposed system
components, such as shield and deflector generators, may sustain plasma
shock.

RIPPER BEAMS:

One of the most destructive weapons technologies we've ever worked on, the
ripper beam is, in fact, a combination of many standard technologies into a
devastatingly powerful and destructive weapon.
The ripper beam is, simply put, a tractor/repulser weapon. The beam, when
fired, utilizes both the pulling properties of a highly-tuned tractor beam in
combination with the pushing powerful of a repulsor, or reverse-polarized
tractor beam. In the beam, the sections of each are random, and throughout
the pulse, change constantly. Instead of phasering through the hull of the
opponent's ship, it rips the hull to pieces, causing massive metal fatigue
and
hull deterioration throughout. Damage caused by a ripper beam is
significantly more difficult to repair, and forcefields cannot always conform
exactly to the often bizarre shapes caused by this attack.
Ripper beams, while extremely powerful, do have a few limitations. First,
their range is limited; in comparison with phasers, which have a virtually
unlimited tactical range, ripper beams is only effective at ranges of 750,000
kilometers or less, range disappation increasing rapidly after about half a
million kilometers. Also, ripper beams cause some structural stress to the
ship on which they are implanted. The Roddenberry's AWACS package, however,
has been suitably reinforced, and few if any problems are anticipated for the
first 20 years of operation.

COMPUTER SYSTEMS:

The Uss Roddenberry uses a standard LCARS Computer and interface, though
several modifications and changes have been made by crew members for use at
their workstations, or Holo-programming. HoloDrake 9.4 was taken offline in
late 9909 by Lieutenant Commander Jay O'Meara. Fearing newer recruits would
have trouble adapting to a "ghost" for a computer, Lieutenant Commander
O'Meara took the program offline. He later reinstalled it for use in Security
and
Engineering, pending voice activation by himself or Commander Ray Packard.
