Begin Duty Log

We had intercpeted a distress call froma small freighter. I
was the helmsman, and Warp was the operations officer for the day. (Sounds
like a reward)
Sick Bay was getting preped for casulties. The Transporter room was getting
ready for massive beaming, and me, well let's just say I had a wonderful time
pressing buttons. We accelerated to warp 9.5 to get there as quick as we
could. we then slowed to impulse power and the to thrusters. Once we reached
the ship, I noticed there hull detereorating, so we had to act fast.

We then stated beaming them all out. Warp apparently missed
one, and kept trying to get that missin pasenger. He managed to get alot of
things including a Parakete that attacked me. However the shipexploded and
that passenger was identified as a 6-year old girl.

However after the explosion, a level 6 shockwave was coming
towards us. shields were raised in an attempt to prevent major damage, but a
main conduit blew on deck 15 section 21 alpha. Amazingly that coordinated
with the deck and section Capt James Kirk died on trying to save the
Enterprise -B.(However we all know he didn't die there) Warp immediatly went
to deck 15 to repair it fast. Then Captain Putty Wen't insane and
relinquished command to Cmdr Shodan for the death of a 6-year old
girls::picks up phone and dial "1-800-insanity"::.

STARDATE 9610.09
Commander Eileen Shodan
First Officer of the USS Potemkin
BEGIN DUTY LOG
+taps+ Shodan to Clewan

{Clewan here, sir. }

Have you fixed the replicated in Captain Putty’s room yet? He seemed awfully
upset with all that Jell-O that it was making and spewing out in his room.

{Not yet, sir, that never got on my repair list. But I’ll add it right now.
}

Thanks, Clewan. By the way, since I am currently the acting commanding
officer, that means that you are currently the acting first officer. And,
you guessed it, that means that you have more paper work to do.

{Umm, sir.. }

Just hand your CEO duties to someone else for this week. This is only
temporary. I have not even informed Starfleet Command about this. I refuse
to. I cannot. I don’t want to be the captain. I still have a lot more that
I need to learn from Putty. my dear friend. But, anyway, that is neither
here nor there. I just wanted to inform you to have someone fix the
replicator in the Captain’s room, and I have some PADD’s for you to look
over. They will be here, in the First Officer’s room (I refuse to
take the Captain’s room). You may pick them up whenever you can. Shodan
out.

Stardate 9610.10
Lt. Cdr. Clewan Eric
USS Potemkin

Begin Log

The mission began with the ship being told of a fuel carrier which had been
reported missing in a nebula near our position. We were sent to recover the
crew of that vessel, and the vessel itself if possible. When we arrived,
Warp and I began to detect some unusual readings on the hull of that ship.
It appeared to be anti-matter, but I knew that was impossible. After
modifying the sensors and doing some research, I was able to recognize the
material. Tetraceillium, a substance used to coat ship hulls
from the effects of nebula and other spacial problems. It looked like AM
because when it reacts with oxygen, it appears like anti-matter, since
standard ship sensors are unable to detect the standard reaction process.
Also, it reacts very badly to sub-space. We flew in very carefully, making
sure not to cause the ship to blow up. When we got there, the ships hull
started to collapse. We rescued all but one of the passengers, a
six-year-old girl. The captain took this pretty hard and relinquished
command to Shodan.

STARDATE 9610.11
Commander Eileen Shodan
First Officer of the USS Potemkin
BEGIN DUTY LOG
We were attempting to get out of the nebula. Due to the levels of
teracellium, we could not engage warp engines (this would cause an explosion
and destroy the ship, and destroying the ship is “bad”). Captain Putty took
the helm because we had no helm officer. The energy fluxes in the nebula
were extremely dangerous. Our shields could not contain them. Shields
quickly faded, and the structural integrity field suffered. We had a hull
breach on the impulse deck. Captain Putty went to fix it. He
first stopped at Sickbay to have Doctor Orien give him a strong stimulant
(in a hypo-spray that Putty took with him). Putty was able to complete
repairs to our impulse engines just as the forcefields covering the hull
breach gave out. Lucky for him, this mysterious nebula had a class M
atmosphere, so he was not killed. I was finally able to beam him aboard.

Incidentally, I suffered some minor damage to my facial tissues. My console
exploded (it didn’t like all of the bumps the ship was getting from the
nebula’s energy fluxes) when my face was near it. Brand carried me to
Sickbay, where Doctor Orien quickly had me healed. Later on, Brand suffered
some physical damage when his console exploded, sending shrapnel into his
arm. Since Klingons are more stoic than Trills, I did not suggest that he
got to Sickbay. Instead, I pulled out the shrapnel with my
hands.

Captain Putty was so overly impressed with Brand because Brand did not argue
once with him, nor did Brand make any derogatory remark what-so-ever toward
him, so .... Captain Putty promoted Brand to First Lieutenant.

Well, another day another dollar, er, latinum that is.
Apparently, we were trying to get out of some kind of nebula, Id give a case
of scotch to know what goes on upstairs. Anyway, Putty came by sickbay to get
a really strong stimulant and left in a hurry. I wonder what he was up to,
the buz in ten forward is that after that he actually got sucked out into the
nebula when we had a hul breach, but, fortunatly it has a M class
aptmosphere so he wasnt killed. Comander Shodan was also rushed
into sickbay with mild facial burns, apparently a console exploded in her
face, big ouch. Brand's console also exploded, and put some schrapnal in his
arm. Oh yeah, Brand was also promoted to first luetenit, ( guess maybe that
schrapnal finally knocked some sense into him enough to stop argueing) ok,
well, thats its for this weeks odessy, computer close log.

USS Potemkin

Begin Log

The mission began with the ship still in the nebula from last week. As we
were still searching the wreckage, a series of mysterious waves began to
attack the ship and its crew. We began to take heavy damage when the hull on
the impulse deck ruptured and caused two of the generators to fly out into
space. The Captain took a hypo of stimulant and replaced the reactors
himself, against my wishes that he at least put on an EVA suit first. We
have that fixed, and right now we are out of the nebula, but my
engineering staff better like repairing SIF generators, because that whole
ordeal completly destroyed the Structual Integrity Field, and part of the IDF
as well. Until we get these two systems completely operational to at least
75% of normal, this ship is not going anywhere. There goes shoreleave!

STARDATE 9610.19
Commander Eileen Shodan
Acting Captain, USS Potemkin
BEGIN DUTY LOG
This sim began right where last week left off. We were crawling out of a
nebula. I say “crawling” because our warp drive was not up and running. Not
only that our Structural Integrity Field (SIF) was in serious need of
excellent Engineering skills. I ordered Clewan to get the SIF back up,
making that our top priority. I instructed Clewan to use everyone he needed.
Warp and Frank were more than delighted to help out. I had Brand take over
helm. Our new Science Officer, Ensign Raptor, was at the
science console. I ordered her to continuously scan for any ships in our
area.

Ensign Raptor detected a ship with faint life signs. Clewan’s team soon had
our SIF and warp drive up, so we were able to speed over to the ship. They
requested medical assistance, so I ordered them beamed them to Sickbay. I
then ordered their ship tractored in to Shuttle Bay Three.

Orien and O’Dell were in Sickbay, waiting to apply their medical expertise to
help our alien visitors.

Brand led the Security detachment to examine their ship. Brand was able to
identify it as an F-243 class heavy assault fighter. He proceeded to enter
the ship. Suddenly, Changelings took a humanoid form and attacked the
Security Detail.

At the same time, our new patients in Sickbay decided to reveal their true
identity as Changelings. One kidnapped O’Dell. Pandemonium ensued.

To make things worse, three Jem Hadar ships decloaked in front of us. By
that time, Brand had been able to make it back to the Bridge, so he was able
to resume his tactical duties. His superior tactical skills were able to
overcome the Jem Hadar ships.

I do fear that we might still have Changelings on board.

The mission began with us at a very slow crawl due to some damaged SIF
generators. Warp, Frank, and I were able to repair the SIF, but we
discovered a ship that was in need of help. Being the humanitarians we are,
we went to help. Since there was nothing that needed me in Engineering, I
went to the bridge. It turns out that we needed to tow a ship into Shuttle
Bay 3. After we reeled them in, it was discovered that the ship was infested
with changlings. I don't know why they're here, but it may have
something to do with a couple "special projects" me and some other engineers
are working on. Who knows what the future will hold in store.

Engineering Memo
From: Clewan Eric, CEO
To: All Engineers, Priority 1. All other department heads, Priority 3.
RE: Current Projects

Here is the checklist for today:
1. Repair damage from changling raid and find those pa'taks. They messed
with my engines and deserve to die. We are currently working on a few ideas
that will help us to find them. Here are a couple examples:
Barion Particles
Carbon Signatures
Phaser Sweeps
Low Level Plasma Grenades
DNA Scans
Walk up to people and ask. If they say yes, shoot them. (Stun, everybody)

2. Due to the ever present threat of the Borg, we will be undertaking a
slightly huge task. One way to affect them is to use variable frequency
phaser blasts on them. This is highly difficult since it takes a
considerable amount of time to modify them manually. Thus this new device.
It is an automatic retuner which, when activated, automatically randomizes
the frequency of the next blast. A similar precaution is being taking with
the shields.

3. I've recently got a report from T'Pok and Gringo on Vulcan. They are
really close to breaking the barrier this time, but they need a ship with
multiple warp cores and an extra number of nacelles to test their theories.
If we have any time in the future, guess what were doing.

4. At least one of those Changelings broke into the computer systems and
messed with the files. I want someone to find out exactly what they know.

5. We're keeping repair team Gamma on the SIF generators until we can get
some of them replaced at our next layover. When we dock again, we are
getting many things repaired, along with a new class of fighter, the Banshee
Class fighter/Interceptor. We'll be getting the prototype models 1-3, and
it's our mission to decide which is the best design. It's faster than the
Condor by 30%, and that's all I can say now.

6. It's time to leave you with a thought. "Preparation + Experience + Luck
=Victory."

STARDATE 9610.30
Commander Eileen Shodan
Acting Captain, USS Potemkin
BEGIN DUTY LOG
Our mission was to do scientific research on a planet that was recently
discovered. We are to determine if this planet is fit for colonization.
This lovely planet has a surface land mass of only 10%. The rest of the
surface area is water. I was also ordered (by the absent Captain Putty) to
put First Lieutenant Brand through some command training exercises. So, I
decided to have two away teams. Team One would go to one of the land masses.
Team two would take an aqua-shuttle (submarine) into the
water. (LT) Commander Clewan led team one and took Ensign Raptor and
Lieutenant (JG) Orien. Brand led Team Two (the underwater exploration team)
and took Lieutenants Frank and Warp with him.

Brand’s first command decision was to decide who would pilot his
aqua-shuttle. He allowed Frank to pilot the shuttle down, and told Warp he
could pilot the shuttle back up. Warp was upset because Frank got to pilot
the shuttle first. So he tried to program the computer to shock Frank.
Brand reminded him that he would get his turn, so Warp stopped mis-behaving.

Clewan piloted his team to the northern continent, to a spot approximately
fifty miles from mountains. Brand instructed Frank on landing coordinates.
Brand then instructed Warp to keep tabs on how waterproof the sub really was.
Warp determined that it was 99% waterproof. He eventually (after millions of
decimals) got that figure to 100%. Frank then hypoed Warp, so Warp fell
asleep. I ordered Frank to un-hypo him, and Frank obeyed.

Away Team One landed in an environment that was akin to a tropical rain
forest. Apparently there was a lot of dense vegetation.

Suddenly, a pelagic creature swum near the sub. This greatly startled its
occupants. Brand calmly gave orders to scan the creature. When his crew
questioned this order, he became upset. Eventually, Warp determined that
this creature had gills but was warm blooded. After further prompting for
more information (I asked was this creature a mammal or a fish), Warp
determined that the creature produced live young (as opposed to laying eggs).
Warp decided to name this creature Newabranda-Alpha101.

Away Team One was having an easier time. They were approached by several
small, carnivorous creatures. They seemed to be a cross between a wolf and a
cat. Clewan ordered the team to split up. Raptor jumped into a tree for a
better view. Just then, a mild earthquake struck. It was strong enough to
dislodge Raptor from her viewing spot. Raptor later on devoured a small
creature (hopefully after getting tricorder readings of it).

DUTY LOG PART TWO
Warp discovered an underground volcano. Brand decided to investigate it.
While doing so, Warp became extremely worried when a shark-like creature came
up to them. This “shark” was ten feet long. Brand ordered helm to do some
evasive maneuvers. Warp continued scanning the “shark” and determined that
its teeth were composed of diamonds, therefore, its teeth could tear into the
hull. Brand again ordered the sub to get away. The “shark” kept pursuing,
so Brand ordered phasers. Initially, the “shark”
was put off, but soon changed its mind. Warp tried a sonic boom, and the
noise scared the creature off.

A small, monkey-like creature started following Orien. A large, gorilla-like
creature started following Clewan. This creature attacked Clewan and
rendered him unconscious. It then took Clewan to its nest, where Clewan
later regained consciousness and realized his combadge was missing.

Meanwhile, the monkey-like creature kept following Orien, apparently becoming
fond of him. Raptor and Orien eventually realized that Clewan was in
trouble. They contacted me (still aboard the Potemkin) and asked me to use
the transporter to lock on to him. I did so, however, his combadge had
fallen off, so I only beamed that up. Orien quickly came up with the idea to
have the computer search for Bajoran DNA (because Clewan is Bajoran). This
idea worked, and I beamed Clewan aboard the Potemkin. I
then immediately beamed him back down again to Raptor. This maneuver
apparently startled Raptor, and she almost attacked Clewan.

A lovely, beautiful school of fish swam by the sub which contained Away Team
Two. Frank determined that the volcano they were still examining was about
to explode. Brand ordered the sub to leave at maximum speed.

A slight earthquake knocked Away Team One off their feet. The monkey-like
creature following Orien became scared, and hung on to Orien. Orien was able
to peel him off.

The volcano stopped its tremors at the same time that the earthquake stopped.
An extremely large, octopus-like creature came to explore the sub.
Apparently the creature was confused, and thought the sub was a potential
mate. When it realized its error, it became angry and pushed away the sub.
The sub rolled end over end, tossing around its occupants. Brand ordered a
retreat from this latest threat.
END DUTY LOG

Warp and I.
My team had the luxury of using a submarine shuttle. Therfore we could enter

by a shark and an octopus. I got rid of the octopus by firing phasers, which
I was screamed at for, but it just buzzed the shark, nothing more. It came
back again, and I fired again. Then came an octopus which was just really
playing around with the sub. Clewans team was attacked by little monkey's
while Clewan himself was attacked by a gorrila of some
sort. His combadge was knocked off so we couldn't beam him up. The Raptor
had a brilliant idea of locking on to bajoran life forms and then beaming him
up. We also ran into a volcano and found that it was going to errupt in a
matter of minutes. However, I got us far away from it and Warp stole controll

The mission began with Commander Shodan assigning us to investigate a
mysterious planet which the Federation is thinking about using for
habitation. Brand led team one with Frank and Warp. They were to take a
submarine and search the waters of this planet. My group took a shuttle down
to the northern continent of this largely water covered planet. We landed in
an area that was between the rain forests and the mountains. We started to
search the surface when a group of small carnivores approached us
and began to follow us. Raptor, Orien, and I split up and began searching.
A few minutes later the little animals scattered when a much larger animal
appeared and attacked myself. My combadge was knocked off, which made it
nearly impossible for the Potemkin to beam me out. Fortunately a member of
my away party had a brilliant idea. It was to lock on to the only bajoran
DNA signature on the planet. This helped beam me out just as I was getting
thrown out of a tree by a rather large and angry
gorillia-type creature. I went back to the surface to complete my findings
of the planet.

I've been away from the Potemkin for almost three months now. My
extended shore leave ended last month and I have been working at Star Base
456 for the last month with a special Phase Cloak research team. The
information I gained at the Romulan technological symposium has proven to be
very usefull. I was amazed to find that Federation research on Phase Cloaks
is far ahead of Romulan or Klingon research in that field.
We are currently running tests using an old Excelsior class ship
assigned to the station. However before we could install the prototype we had
to install a new warp engine and the new gel type circuite conections so that
the cloak could be supported. Initial test are promising but there appear to
be quite a few elements which either disrupt the phaseing mechanism of the
cloak or just are not affected by it, both these factors possibly leading to
premature phase shut down. Until I am done with my
work here the Potemkin will have to wait. But when I do get back at least
I'll finally be able to work her cloak with a lot more expertease. As well as
possibly install a Phase Cloak once the research is completed.

STARDATE 9611.16
Commander Eileen Shodan
First Officer of the USS Potemkin
BEGIN DUTY LOG
This mission began with the knowledge that I would not be Acting Captain.
Our own captain was able to cancel his Leave Of Absence. We had a visitor
tonight, Lieutenant Valdyr from the USS Roddenberry. She was assigned the
Science station. Warp was assigned tactical due to the absence of
FstLtBrand. O'Dell was given the helm (an assignment she expressed
reluctance for).

Captain Putty announced a contest. We have until the 18th of next month
(which happens to be his birthday) to write logs. The logs must be many and
sundry and loong. Half-pages will not be accepted. Only full pages will be.
Whoever posts the most logs will not only get promoted, but will also be able
to command the next sim. This goes for any rank. By "next sim", I am
assuming that Putty means the sim on Stardate 9612.19. But I could be wrong.

Captain Putty then expressed frustration with those who wait to dial up AOL
until the time our sim is supposed to start, as opposed to actually being in
Oribital Velocity at the time our sim is supposed to start. Also, Captain
Putty announced that Commander Shodan is the best XO ever (a goal of hers).

And thus began our mission. We were still in the nebula. We hit something,
and we fell down. Engineering was dealing with the hull breach on Deck 10.
Captain Putty asked me to contact a Federation time buoy and send the data to
his console without looking at it. I complied. Apparently, we had gone
through a temporal anamoly. We were near Starbase Horizon (SH), still, but
"in the old days." The USS Excelsior NX-2000 is in danger (as is the history
of the Federation). So, we headed to SH to save
the universe.

The original USS Excelsior NX-2000 was at SH having the transwarp drive
removed and replaced with regular warp engines. Note: This was indeed the
time of Captain James T. Kirk. Our problem: someone has altered the
timeline by sabotaging the Excelsior. Thus, the Excelsior was destroyed at
Khitomer. If we don't fix things, the Klingon-Federation accord will never
happen. (Incidentally, Captain Putty informed us that the attempt at
transwarp drive failed, but it led to a much more powerful warp drive
- which is being installed on the Excelsior).

It was discovered that our internal sensors did not survive the trip through
the temporal anamoly. Also, Lieutenant Commander Clewan also suffered damage
in the time warp - a broken left arm and left leg. O'Rien was finally able
to beam him to Sickbay. Warp fixed the internal sensors, but when I called
on them at the Science Station, they again failed. Warp was not happy about
that. I also monitored short range sensors. These, fortunately, were in
perfect working order. However, long range sensors
were going on and off. This was a source of frustration for Lieutenant
Frank. Captain Putty announced that our problems were due to "temporal
shock", and that it would be an hour before they were fixed.

Putty knew that, even with 24 th century medical technology, Clewan would not
be cured as quickly as Putty would like (Putty did not want to wait 15
minutes). So, Putty called on his Paladin skills, "flashed" into Sickbay,
and used his Paladin healing powers to cure Clewan almost instantly.

We had arrived at Starbase Horizon. Captain Putty, Lieutenant Commander
Clewan, and myself comprised the away team to go over and examine the
Excelsior. Putty announced that we had less than two hours to fine the time
saboteurs. Lieutenant Valdyr was left in command of the Bridge. Clewan did
raise the point that there were no Bajorans in Starfleet in this time.
Actually, there weren't any Trills, either. Regardless, Putty wanted Clewan
and myself on the away mission, and he didn't want to wait to
have us made up to look human. So, we beamed over to a Cargo Bay in SH
without further ado.

O'rien had an idea about the sensor relays he wanted to try. He was allowed
to make the

The mission began with Clewan and myself onboard the Potemkin, along with all
of the other crewmembers. We were on our way to Horizon for some much needed
repair work on the SIF and some other key upgrades. However, our work in the
nebula has not been completed, so we were given use of the official starship
of Horizon, the USS Ohio. She is an Enterprise class vessel that has been
radically refit with modern equipment. This ship is so complexed, Clewan
gave me control of Engineering by myself during a
combat situation, and we're still ahead of schedule on the amount of work we
have to do.

Since Clewan is unatainable, I have been contacted with several letters for
the Chief engineer. One of them is a status report on the Potem. The SIF
repairs are coming along as scheduled, and the engineers have yet to break
anything of the Chief's. They have also said that his new weapons will be
tested starting this friday at Yoyodine, and if everything works right over
the next few days, a batch of ten will be shiped to the Potemkin. I'm not at
liberty to say what they are at this time, but I'm
sure Clewan will tell us all as soon as we find him.

==Duty Log, Commanding Officer Captain Alexander "Putty" O'Brien==
==Stardate 9611.17, 22:13 hours==

We have arrived at Starbase Horizon after a harrowing trip through the
Gailus Nebula and the temporal anomaly nested therein. After being assured
that everything onboard was okay, I assembled an away team consisting of
myself, Shodan, and Clewan. We then proceeded to transport clandestinely
into an unused cargo bay of the base. From there, we walked along the old
corridor to the hard connect leading into Excelsior's torpedo bay. From
there, Clewan split off to Deck 4 to check for any signs of
tampering. Meanwhile, Shodan and I set off for Engineering.

I get the feeling this individual would not have done something so
rudimentary as setting weapons systems to explode or fail, or cause the
collapse of shields. No, I think this man has something quite different in
mind. The mission brief stated Excelsior failed the Khitomer conference.
However, further details are still unknown. Due to the classified nature of
this mission, further details are restricted at this time.

After we were finished rocking around from last weeks escapade, I was still
in the Jefferies tube, trying to get out of the cramped crawlspace. I was
able to exit the limited space and make my way into the corridor, where Dr.
Orien was able to locate me with the ship's sensors, which were still on the
fritz. He locked onto my signal and beamed me into sickbay, where I grew
impatient for the recovery. After the captain learned where I was, he came
to sickbay and urged Tom to work faster. When that was
not possible, Putty used his Paladin powers and was able to heal me much
quicker than the conventional methods. Even though my ribs were still a
little sore following my flight down the ladder, the captain and I headed to
TR 1 where we would go aboard the original Excelsior to find some sabatoures
that want to destroy the future. We know that it occurs sometime around the
Khitomer conference, and that there are many consequences involved if we
fail. It is necessary that we complete the mission.

Assistant Engineer of U.S.S Potemkin
LTFrank
Stardate 9611.17
Begin Duty Log

As CmdrShodan stated in her log, "the mission began with the knowledge that
she would not be Acting Capt." Capt Putty was able to cancel his leave of
abscence and was able to join us in a brand new episode of "THE POTEMKIN
SIMS"(come to think of it. We never show replays) we had a visitor from the
Rodenberry, Lieutenant Valdyr.

We were still in that nebula that almost tore us apart. We apparently were
struck by something and fell down. The buckling caused a hull breach on deck
10 and, for me, thats where the fun began. Just sitting around Main
Engineering and staring at a stupid screen all day long is boring. But when
there is something going on, who ya gonna call, "Frank Busters". or Clewan
which ever you prefer. It look liked we had enterd a temporal anamoly and
went back some 70 years. We had arrived at Starbase Horizon but
at the time of Capt Kirk. it looks like this trip would be more than a trip
to the past. But another chance for the Potemkin to save the universe.(And
this time I am involved!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha) It looks like the U.S.S
Excelsior was in danger of being destroyed and the peace treaty between the
federation and the klingon empire would have never taken place.

The excelsior's transwarp drive was being removed and replaced with standard
warp engines. But the problem is this: The excelsior has been sabotaged and
will be destroyed at Khitomer if we don't find out who did it and fix things
in time.

And more fun for me because our internal senosrs failed as we went through
the anamoly, and who was neede to fix it, ME!!!. LcdrClewan ws injured during
our little trip to the past. Warp had fixed the internal sensors but what do
ya know, they failed again, Which was really frustarting for the both of us.
On a good side the short range sensors were still working, but long range
senors were going on and off. AAARRRGGG. I will get them fixed or my name
isn't Bob Dole(pauses for a moment)what? I mean Frank.
Yeah Frank will get these things fixed. Thats what Frank Lives for. Frank is
around to fix things. Since Clewan was not going to be healed fast enough,
The Capt magically cured Clewan by just throwing his hands around his head. I
still don't get where thet came from.

Once we arrived at SH, Capt Putty assembled an away team and the beamed over
to the excelsior to examin it. They were intent on finding the saboture. But
at this point in time ,bajorans and Trills were unknown to the federation.
surely Putty knew this. But they still left and tried to find the person
responsible for all this. I was left in charge of engineering and was still
trying to fix that damn sensor problem. The I left for the bridge engineering
station and gave comand of engineering to Warp. then
something happend and forced me to return to engineering. then came those
magical words::::::PAUSE SIM::::::::::I am really begining to hate those
words.

Well, this shift left us continueing our adventures in time,
still remaining on the Ohio while the Potemkin got patched up. Things in
sickbay were relatively quiet, (as usual, probably the quietest place on the
ship). I dont know exactly what went on, (Id kill for a better knowlage of
what went on upstairs). But all of a sudden I was running all over the ship
patching up everything from plasma burns to broken bones, to the usual cuts
and scrapes. Im guessing the attack was from Klingons, at
least thats what the word is in ten forward. Sounds ironic, leave a Klingon
in charge and get attacked by Klingons, (no offense to Mr Brand of course,
who by the way did an excelant job).

In unrelated and more plesant news it appears we have a new crew

will be in science with Ensign Raptor, and taking care of Ops as well. She
seems very capable, and will no doubt go far in starfleet.

The mission began with me struggling to get back on-line. I was
punted for at least 15 minutes. And I couldn't bear it. I screamed to the
heavens when my father was still on the phone at 10:15. But then I got back
and I started the mission while everone else already had.

We were still 70 something years in the past, trying to find the time
sabatours who would stop the peace treaty of the Federation and The Klingon
Empire from ever being signed. Lcdr Clewan, Capt Putty, And Cmdr Shodan were
still on board the potemkin trying to find out who is responsible for the
time screw up.

FstLtBrand was in command until the Capt and the rest of the away
team returned, warp got engineering, and I got a real busy day. We got
sensors back up, but warp engine one was loosing power every 15 minutes. It
was the result of a cut power cable. I reattched the cable and waited for
warp to bring the plasma thingy. As soon as I recieved it, I immediatley went
to work. It didn't take long though. Only a few seconds. The power cable had
been fixed, and the engine was returning to it's normal
functioning parameters. But that was only the begining. A klingon BOP(Bird
Of Prey) decloaked and threatened to attack us if we didn't leave their
space, at that period of time, right away. I don't know what happened, but
either Brand said something, or they completely lost it, But they started
shooting at us. At the instant brand was ready to return fire, warp had
indicated that we lost everything. Shields, phasers, etc.(except Life support
of course) Brand then orderd evasive maneuvers to escape the
BOP, but they were still gaining. Life support on decks 10 -22 were failing,
Warp and I were struggling to get shields up, and the SIF was falling. Warp
and I worked hard to get the shields up and running, but the most we could
get was 45% efficiency. We still needed weapons to defeat them.

I took it upon myself to run to the shuttle bay and take a runabout
and triy to draw there fire away from the Ohio. The runabout's armerments
were 2 phaser banks and a micro torpedo launcher. I maneged to get there
shields down to an earth shattering 95%. Brand the contacted me and told me
to release my anti-matter pod on the ship. I did exactly what he told me to
do, EnsJmael beamed me to a burning engineering, the Ohio fired, and the BOP
was destroyed.

Once I returned first priority was to get those damn fires out. I
got a fire extinguisher from the break glass place and started putting them
all out. Then we continued to get our reserves working and the SIF up.

Once the Capt returned, he was enraged by the condition of the
ship. he was screaming at Brand and warp, asking why his temporary ship was
like this. We all said it wasn't warp's fault, but nobody believes nobody
here. But we got the ship back to at least 50% of effiency and we continued
on our journey to find the trouble makers. And then, as in every sim, came
those words"::PAUSE SIM:: which I really hate.

that that is enough, Frank then heads for the damaged EPS conduits. Frank
pulls out a little plasma power generator and starts moving it around the
damaged conduits to get some power in them. The a message comes
out over the comm system saying "All passengers aboard the Ohio, transfer to

not even packed his bags and that the repairs will take at least another 3

We have arrived back at Starbase Horizon in our time period and have returned
to the Potemkin. I am quite pleased with the work the station engineers have
done to the ship in our abscense. However, the same cannot be said of the
Station's CO. After we returned and he found his ship in such a damaged
state, I began to recieve a rather candid lecture on how not to break other
people's ships. I listened for a short while, then ignored him for the next
three and a half hours of his lecture. I then
returned to the Potemkin where a colleague from Yoyodine propulsion
contacted me with the results of the recent test batches. The Arm-Torp did
not perform as well as expected. It took too long to beam through the target
shields, and they didn't even work when the shields were modulated. I was
talking to the Captain about this and he recommended using a shield generator
that could modulate to the ship's frequency and can pass through that way. I
passed the idea along to Yoyodine, and following the
modifications, the torps work. The Potemkin has recieved a test batch of
ten, to surplus our standard supply of 600 torpedoes.

I have recently been informed of some rather unpleasant news. Due to
personal reasons, Cmdr. Eileen Shodan has been forced to take a Leave of
Abscense. It has not been determined exactly how long the commander will be
absent for, but it is apparent that if this leave is longer than a week, I
will be forced to assume the position of Acting XO. I will still be the
Chief Engineer and Second Officer, but those will only be technicalities.
The Executive position will take up all of the time and effort
that I have, and that means the positions will have to be taken by someone
else. Frank Hernandez would become the Acting CEO. He has more service time
than Lt. Mitchell, although Warp is the second engineer on the "depth chart."
However, Warp is an exceptional damage control officer and is also much more
versatile than Frank is. Warp can move from department to department much
easier than Frank, which makes him an asset on the Bridge. If the event
occurs that Frank will not be at a mission, than
Warp takes over. I feel that the Captain agrees with me in this situation.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Gringo's Log, I make this entry not knowing when
my next entry will be. We have completed first stage testing of the Phase
cloak at Star Base 36. Our next stage will be to begin designing a way to
intergrate it into the new Adventurer Class StarShips. We have also taken on
a designing tema which has been working on a new class of assault vessel
based on the Defiant class. They are suposed to have arunning Prototype. This
new class was apparently intended to use the new
Phaseing mechanism as it needs no modification. We are moving to a secret
base to complete the final stages of our work. The uncompleted Adventure
class as well as the new assault ship are waiting for us there. I have been
informed that for the duration of the project i won't be allowed to send
anymore logs to Star Fleet Memory Alpha. I do not know how much longer this
temporary assignment will last but I expect to be back on the Potemkin soon.
I must say I am not enjoying this secret operation stuff too much. I
much prefer the openess of a star ship engine room. Had Star Fleet not
assigned me to this mission I might have made Chief Engineer by now. I have
however stayed in contact with my crew mates from the Potemkin through sub
space messages. I do not believe I will be allowed to continue with such
messages from now on however.
I have been able to isolate the isotope that kept causing the exhaust to
overheat and reveal the cloaks location. The problem should be easy solve
once we reach our destination. After that my work will be done in a couple
weeks if nothing goes wrong.

Duty Log
Stardate 9611.30

We reported back on the Potemkin a few days ago. Captain Putty was gracious
enough to let me get settled in to my new quarters and become familiar with
the ship. I was very impressed with it. But I'll bet it doesn't go from 0 -
76 x 1023 in 30 seconds. (Engineering will just love that last sentence. I
can hear Frank now.) I reported to my station today. There were a couple of
incoming messages to the captain from Starfleet, and Commander Shodan was
called away from the ship (personal business I
guess) but other than that, nothing unusual.

Later, I had reported over to the science labs. Again, I looked around,
became familiar with the lab. Ens. Raptor was kind enough to help me there.
After Raptor left, I had a little fun with the chemicals (I do have a
chemistry background). After finding all the right ingredients that I
wanted, I came up with the perfect solution. I wanted to test it right away,
but there were no willing volunteers. So, I took the solution to my quarters
and tested it there. After adding the solutio to water, I had
found the results right away. "YES! IT'S ALIVE", I shouted. After all, I
had found the perfect bubble bath where the suds will stay for a long, long
time!!!

BEGIN RECORDING- RESEARCH LOG- SD 9612.01

The research team arrived at our new lad yesterday. The facilities are
quite impressive and as well as extensive. Unfortunetly we do not know where
the base is located and we are apparently located underground, which means no
windows. The only exit is by transporter or throught the bay doors. The
Adventurer and the assault vessel are docked inside, which means we must be
in some asteroid without gravity of it's own. We begin tests on the
Adventurer within two days. Hopefully there won't be any
problems and I'll be out of here in a couple weeks.
However we have been experiencing the same problems as the Klingon and
Romulans had. The Phase Cloak deactivates itself once it over heats. I think
I'v solved that problem however. We'll soon see.
News from the outside galaxy has been sparse. I only hope the Potemkin
is still in one piece when I get back.

Syptoms: Severe headaches,dizzy spells,vertigo,fever.
Diagnosis: Retisant's Carilac. A disease which causes the deterioration of
certain key nodes in the cerebellum. The disease is fatal in ninety percent of
cases. The other ten percent usually suffer severe brain damage with permanent
after-effects.The only known cure is a dangerous operation in which damaged
nodes are removed and special electrodes are put in place to prevent
recurrance. The operation has a high fatality rate as it is yet a new

Patient: Lieutenant J.G. Thomas William O'Rien,CMO,USS Potemkin.

I have recieved word from several specialists at Starfleet Med. confirming my

Needless to say,the operation was a success.I am alive and well again, though
not wholly unscathed.I'm afraid the severe headaches are a permanent
side-effect of the disease, but no longer will I have to suffer through
dizzyness or spells of vertigo.I have suitable medication to make the
headaches more than bearable, and I am in a very good mood.As for the duty end
of life,I'll get down to the recent mission. This mission started with my
getting to work on Commander Clewan. At least it should have, but due to some
extraordinary powers of our esteemed Captain O'Brien,Commander Clewan was
quickly healed and off to duty before I had chance to see what was really
wrong with him.I'll have to ask the Captain to teach me that trick,it'll save
a helluva lot of time in the OR.I'm afraid that the rest of the mission was
spent with me putsing around with the ship's internal sensors, working on an
interesting concept that Commander Clewan's earlier mentioned ailments
inspired.I have had some success in modifying internal sensors to correspond
directly with the overhead sensor pallettes in Sickbay, which take life-sign
readings and perform various other scanning and diagnosis tests on Bio-bed
patients in Sickbay. If my tinkering proves worthy, this system will be able to
do annual sensor sweeps, say every five minutes or so,and monitor the
life-signs of every patient on board.Now I know what you're thinking.For the
computer to acknowledge and record the readings of every person on board
would be an undertaking which would be time-consuming as well as wasteful of
computer reaction time. But it would not be doing so,it would only sweep
through life-signs and sound a small alert in Sickbay if it detected any
abnormalities.Allow me to illucidate.A crewman in a jeffries tube falls down
a shaft and injures himself. In the unlikely event that he cannot for some
reason contact Sickbay, say due to unconciousness, then these sensors would
detect an abnormality in his life readings. You see, when an the body gets
injured, certain chemicals are released in greater or lesser proportions than
normal, thereby creating a difference from normal life readings that the ship
has on record.Even if you don't think this a worthwhile reason to devote a
sensor sweep to,and I think it most certainly is,well rest assured,I'm
not.You see,the ship automatically runs certain sweeps annually, say scanning
the life-support or structural integrity every few minutes. This uses an
entire sensor sweep of the vessel.Of course, this is a routine sweep and no
one thinks anything of it.But,if I were successful, then we could link the
life-sign scan to one of these, say as an alternate scanning sub-routine,then
the computer would automatically run the scan along with it's structural
integrity scan,or whatever else you hook it to.It would not take a specific
program to run the sweep,it would be part of a program already in
existence, like an up-grade or addition.I would still like someone from
engineering to look over the designs I've been playing with,I have basic
engineering skills but I don't place much faith in them since I am really a
Doctor. And I also have to get permission from the Captain to have it
installed once it has been perfected.Right now it is really only the
begginnings of an idea, but I think it's a good one.

GOD I HATE THE BORG. THEY DESTROY MY HOME WORLD AND THEY THEN
ASSIMILATE ME INTO THEIR COLLECTIVE!!!! I hate them. I hate them I hate them
I hate them.::Calms down::We had recieved a report that a Borg vessel was on
the way. IT was a scout ship, but it was just as powerful and as dreaded as
their "BIG BROTHER" as clewan put it. Warp was helm/ops, Clewan of course was
captain, And I was in charge of Enginering. I was orderd to get the shields
ready for a rotation every ten seconds. I also suggested
to clewan that We start getting the phaser frequencies ready for rotation
since the borg adapt very quickly. I also had the navigational deflector
ready as well just in case we needed a large BANG.

The ship went to red alert, all crew began to prepare for the contact
with the borg ship. There was an estimated 10 minutes before contact. I
prepared the phasers for the up coming confrontation, The shield modulator
for prevention of beaming over and getting us in a tractor beam, and the
navigational deflector, again just in case.

The Borg ship had arrived, and all crew were at their designated
positions. I monitored the Borg activity from engineering and kept an eye on
the phaser and shield power regulators. Warp activated the shield rotator and
we then recived a hail from the Borg ship. They wanted us to power down and
give an unconditional surrender. Clewan, not being one to give up easily,
began to tell them they were in federation territory and they were to head
back to the space from which they came.

Then everything we had prepared to prevent beaming didn't work. A
borg beamed into engineering and began to study our systems. A science Borg
if you will. I tried to stop him in a civilized way, but he didn't respond. I
then took a phaser and fired at maximum stun, but to no avail. I then put the
phaser on maximum disruption and fired again. The Borg just fell. No
vaporazation, he just fell. Then another beamed aboard and took off from were
the other one stopped. I fired again, but this time
maximum disruption wasn't gonna help. he then came towards me and I tried
the best I could to stop him. Another beamed aboard but the other was injured
after being given a blow to the gut by me(which eally felt good I might add)

But I wasn't the only one in trouble. Orein and O Dell were also
having problems of there own when a few Borg beamed into sickbay. Some borg
beamed over and knocked down some virus containers. Orien and O Dell were
infected with the virus. But after the confrontation, they were cured by the
good doctor Thomas Orien. Gets infected and finds a cure. The halmark of a
good doctor. I don't know what else happened due to lost communications from
engineering. But then another borg again beamed over and
I had to face 3 all at once. I tried the best I could to fight them off
whoever they just stopped after being only a few feet away. A transporter
beam appeared and I struggled to overide it. I had been struggling for over
5 minutes but lost the battle. Warp tried as hard as he could to stop the
transport, but he wasn't fast enough. Then Came assimilation time(from what
the crew said). I was assimilated by the borg, and named Negelum. Clewan then
introduced a computer virus on board asking for the Borg
to surrender. The ship powered back up, and the Borg began beaming over in
mass numbers. However something happened that beamed them all back to the
ship. The next thing I knew was falling on to the engineering floor and
wondering what happened. Clewan then fired all weapons and the borg ship was
destroyed. Then, yet again, ame those words::PAUSE SIM:: Why oh why?

moves across the room to the large window spanning a

passionate Doctors getting angry at each other because of radical new
treatment policies and taking out their aggressions on others of their
profession with an excuse to scream and shout.this all,of course, goes under
the pretense of being a civilized discussion about current medical
doctrines. To keep up this reputation,no media or uninvited observers are
allowed into the debate halls after the start of the sessions.

Duty Log
Chief Medical Officer
Lieutenant J.G. Thomas W. O'Rien
Stardate: 9612.06

::sitting alone in his office in Sickbay.Hears Kit doing something or other
outside in the ward.Turns a monitor towards him and toggles on his log
recorder:: This week's mission proceeded under the capable command
of Commander Clewan. With the absence of any higher-ranking officers (these
being Captain O'Brien and Commander Shodan),Clewan took over the ship's
control and briefed the crew as to our mission. As it turned out,we had
recieved word that there was threat of a Borg incursion into Federation
Space, and also that a Borg scout vessel had been recorded entering Federation
territory. We got to be the lucky crew sent to investigate,if you could really
call it an investigation.
Down in Sickbay Ensign O'Dell and I prepared the Medical staff and
facilities for incoming casualties,we all knew they would be heavy. As per
Starfleet protocal,we setup Shuttle Bay Two as an emergency ward, sending down
several nurses, one ensign as a command figure in the ward, and two
med-techs.With them we sent along several quick-deploy medical field hospital
facilities and various other necessary equipment for the purpose of setting
up a suitable emergency suite.
I found,to my dismay, that several techies from Horizon had been
tampering with the demo sensor setup I had been playing with as a personal
project for several weeks now,I'm afraid I've been set back quite a ways in
my designs.I was well into the process of fixing the errors when I recieved
word from Commander Clewan. We were very shortly to be coming into contact
with the Borg vessel.Though we would be attempting to communicate, everyone on
the ship knew that it would meet with no success. He requested that I try to
come up with something we could use as a biological agent against the Borg,as
they are partly organic.I replied that Starfleet didn't much endorse
biological warfare, but I would look anyway.
It was at this point that, for the first time on my service of the
Potemkin,I entered the bio-hazard treatment and containment facility. The door
to this facility is always highly gaurded, and the locking mechanism on the
door very sophisticated and using several means of identification such as
retinal scans, finger printing and voice identification. After unlocking the
door and entering,I found the facilities well stocked with a surprisingly
large compliment of viral agents.Mostly used for vacination or in the use of
comparison to unknown viruses,a few of the infectious diseases carried
serious and fatal effects. After looking through several canisters and finding
something..."Appropriate",I informed Clewan I had discovered something which
might prove useful.By this time, however,he much to involved in a running
firefight with the scout to be much concerned.
With the ship rocking and lurching around us,and the casualties of
the events just starting to pour into Sickbay,I made a very bad mistake. In my
hurry to get to treating incoming patients,I neglected to reseal the doors
behind my exit. Now you would think that a facility such as this would be
equiped with automatically closing doors, but for some reason the designers of
this ship never thought of the closing of the doors after they made it so
hard to open them.Something I shall have to take up with an engineer when one
has the time.
Anyway,as I said,I was quite busy, when literally out of the blue
Borg invaders beamed into Sickbay. One of them nearly gave Kit a surprise when
it appeared behind her.I had heard over the open com traffic line to Sickbay
that Lieutenant Frank had been having trouble in Main Engineering with
several Borg intruders and an alert had been
sounded, but at the time I had been treating a patient with several
lacerations on his forehead and I didn't much pay attention to the jumble of
incoming reports. Now,I can see why Borg might wish to access Main
Engineering, but why in the bloody hell

((continued))
they'd pick Sickbay as an access point
is beyond me.Maybe they have a new policy of assimilating the ill and
infirmed as a priority.Or maybe they just have something against Irish
doctors.I guess I'll never know, but what's the use of speculative conjecture?
In any event,I immediately ordered Sickbay evacuated and the
medical assistants did a commendable job of getting our patients out of
Sickbay with as little panic as possible, considering the fact that they were
literally up close and personal with two very nasty-looking Borg.As it
happens, the Borg paid very little attention to any of us,they rather
proceeded to the Sickbay computer consoles and accessed our
mainframe. Now,isn't this an incredible coincidence but it just so happens
that the positions they had taken up had left me pinned behind a bio-bed with
a phaser in hand, while everyone else had clear exits. Now,despite the fact
that I gave a very clear order for *everyone* in Sickbay to get out and get
distance between themselves and this area,Ensign O'Dell decided she'd rather
hang around and enjoy the party.I must admit I was deeply moved by devoted
refusal to abandon me to my own devices, but I think her timing could have
been much better. Not seconds after the rest of the Sickbay crew had
evacuated, and per my orders evacuated all of Deck Twelve and the two adjacent
decks, one of the Borg decided it'd be fun to check out the bio-hazard
facilties on our ship. Thanks to my own idiocy, the door was quite literally
wide open for him.Unfortunately, our Borg freind didn't have much medical
expertise,or opposable thumbs, and he quite clumsily handled several
biological agent containers. That was when I heard the cracking sound and what
I might have mistakenly assumed was a Borg scream. Not wanting to take my
chances and find out what oozing concoction our Borg pal fumbled,I pulled an
Olympic award-winning vault and cleared a bio-bed and the tray behind it only
to land scant inches from our second Borg intruder.Letting out a blast from
my phaser point-blank,lethal setting with a wide-beam,I was able to persuade
the Borg to kindly step out of my way for a moment, even if I didn't really do
any damage to him with those cursed portable shields they wear.Having this
breif window of oppurtunity,I collected my waiting assistant and made tracks
for the door.Once out into the corridor,I sealed the door behind me and all
other etrances to Sickbay, along with intitiating all the force fileds on that
deck to contain the spread of the virus.Unfortunately,Kit and I had already
been exposed and were forced to remain in place, but at least we finally got
soem privacy for once, being alone on the deserted Deck Twelve.
Now,my memory of the shouts and garbled transmissions playing over
the loud-speakers during the battle are sketchy,as you might assume I was
rather preoccupied, however,I believe what happened elsewheres went thus. The
Borg had invaded Main Engineering and abducted our dear engineer Lieutenant
Frank. If they had taken over other parts of the ship,I wasn't sure.Clewan was
waging an ongoing war against the Borg, and for a brief period we thought we
had destroyed the scout, but it turned out to only be a holographic image they
used to scam our sensors and ploy us into relaxing. It almost worked.Clewan
was not such a fool, though. They then realized the scam, but not before we
discovered Frank had been assimilated into the Borg collective.
Clewan then,in a deft manuever that decided the battle in our favor, managed
to transport two canisters through their shields, one containing some kind of
technical virus, probably nanites, and also one of the Bio-canisters that had
been in Sickbays bio-hazard ward, which had proved effective in destroying the
Borg that had mistakenly open several in Sickbay as previously mentioned. In
this swift motion, the battle was won,but hardly the war,I'm afraid.
With Lieutenant Frank back in our custody, and the ship back in our
total

control,Kit and I were able to get back to deciding our own
problems. With Sickbay now clear of the Borg,we went about looking for a
solution to our situation.I discovered, quite happily, that all viruses carried
onboard also had the cures and/or treatment proceedures catologued and
stored. We were able to disinfect ourselves, don bio-hazard suits and then go
about restoring the rest of Deck Twelve to it's usual fairly sterile
environment.

Duty Log
Stardate 9612.07
Lt. Cdr Clewan Eric
USS Potemkin

Begin Log

The mission began with the abscense of Captain Putty and Commander Shodan.
This left myself in charge. We were ordered to intercept a Borg scout vessel
that had just entered Federation territory. Capture it if possible, destroy
it if necessary. To get our systems ready for the Borg, we had to approach
the ship slower than usual, to allow us time to get the shield modulation and
phaser randomation up and running. Also as a possibility, I had Dr. Orien
search through the biohazard unit for any viruses
we had on board that would be able to destroy flesh on contact. Even though
he reminded me that the Federation does not condone the use of biological
warfare, I advised him to proceed. Warp was also able to provide JRT, the
tactical officer due to Brand's abscense, with some valuable information
about any possible weakness the Borg may have. Warp also mentioned about a
possible computer virus. However, the scout soon came closer.

Once we found it, we set an intercept course and proceeded to come into
weapons range. Once there, I had Mr. Warp open hailing frequencies to the
cube, telling them to leave the sector at once. They gave us the standard
"we will assimilate you, resistance is futile" crap. At this point, three
Gorn ships arrived, with the USS Ranger and a couple of Benzinite ships en
route. I had no doubt that we would win the coming battle.

We opened fire with everything we had, and they began to fire back. Somehow,
they found a way through the shields and beamed into Engineering, under the
watch of Lt. Frank. They soon overran the section. I sent Warp down with a
security team to take care of the situation. Shortly, I had to lock out Main
Engineering and we lost contact with the two of them.

Meanwhile, in Sickbay, everyone's favorite pain in the keester arrived and
started to play with the containers marked "Do Not Open." No one can ever
blame the Borg for not being curious, since they began to open those
containers. The two O's were trapped in Sickbay with the virus, and the
adjacent decks had to be evacuated due to the virus.

Shortly, I had an idea. Since the Borg use a domain similar to a modulated
transporter beam to communicate with the collective I began to think. If we
could block their connection, they would be disconnected from the collective
and "cease to function." I called down to Mr. Warp to begin modifications,
but it was too late. Both him and Frank were beamed off of the Potemkin and
onto the Borg Scout.

After that, the Borg hailed us. They had assimilated Frank and apparently
done the same to Warp. Negelum (Borg Frank) ordered us to give up and that
they knew everything he did. If they really knew everything Frank did, than
he obviuously doesn't know that I don't give up under any conditions,
especially when others' safety is concerned. I responded to the Borg that
Frank doesn't know about everything I had planned. If him and Mitchell
weren't junior officers, they might have had a clue. But since
I'm their department head, they're not always given the details. I called
upon my next plan, which dealt the Borg a severe blow.
