USS Kemo Sabay NCC-9765

The Kemo Sabay is the second production vessel to be based upon the Aurora
test & evaluation vehicle. The Kemo Sabay has one sister ship, the USS
Darmok NCC-9764 and based on Starfleet's latest budget, two additional
Advanced Scouts are planned to be constructed during the next four years.

The Kemo Sabay is an Advanced Scout, designed to perform long-range science
and exploration missions. Its exceptional sensor capabilities make it an
ideal vessel to explore the uncharted sections of the Galaxy.

The ship is relatively small, highly maneuverable, fast over short distances,
and moderately armed. In order to save weight, volume, and cost for its
advanced Science Suite, many of the Kemo Sabay's standard systems are older,
off-the-shelf items.

The heart of the ship is the Science suite. With its dome, made from state
of the art materials, and its dedicated, linked computer network, the sensor
capacity of the Kemo Sabay is matched only by the Darmok and far exceeds
anything previously developed by Starfleet or any other known race. This
provides the Kemo Sabay with the ability to locate, identify, and examine new
data encounted in its travels. Such information can then be passed back
through a subspace command and control network to other
Federation ships, permitting long-range communication of the discoveries
with other Federation scientists.

NOTES

1. The main hull of the Kemo Sabay is built using a unitary-construction
technique to guarantee maximum hull integrity and tensile strength.
Accordingly, the Kemo Sabay cannot be separated in times of distress.

2. Either warp nacelle can be jettisoned in an extreme emergency with the
concurrence of two (2) Senior Officers. However, the nacelles can be
reattached only at a major Starfleet maintenance facility, and they must be
towed there at speeds below Warp 3.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND :
Graduated from Turku College (the equivalent of an American private academy)
SD8806. Did well in all subjects. Took two years at Suomessa Universitie,
majoring in folklore and fine arts. Her brother, Nicholai, an archeologist,
was killed on Daled IV when a resistance group to the planet's civil war did
a raid on their camp, mistaking them for an enemy faction (SD9006).
Nicholai and Codii were very close, and she was hit hard by his senseless
death. She left SU, and spent the next two years with her friend Hans
Cavatad's famiy, who are traders. The Cavatads have been charged several
times with smuggling, but have always found their way clear of the charges.
No information is available for this period in Codii's life, but she did
become an excellent pilot, and develop her interests in martial arts at this
time. After having a near-death experience, she realized she
didn't want to follow her brother into death, and she returned home to her
father's farm.
She spent most of the next year (SD9207-9305) working with her father either
on the farm or on his boats, before deciding to apply to Starfleet Academy.
She received sponsorship through Commander Genet Sverge, a close friend of
her mother's. She entered SFA in SD9308.

STARFLEET ACADEMY
At SFA, Codii did reasonably well in the general core cirriculum. She was
particularly interested in history and psychology, and finally settled into a
double major of Operations and Helm, putting her skills as pilot to good use.
Finally finding her niche, she settled into her studies, and graduated from
SFA in SD9701 with above-average scores, and top marks in both her majors.

Personal Information:
Ultimo Christopher Hebein was the last born of seven children, all male
except for one. Knowing that Ultimo would be their last child, they named
him the Spanish word for last, "Ultimo," even though neither of Ultimo's
parents had any Spanish blood between them. Despite constant teasing from
his grade school classmates about his name, as Ultimo aged he began to like
his name....thinking of "Ultimo" as a synonym for Ultimate. This name
started to grow on Ultimo and he thought and acted as if he were
Ultimate. Throughout all of his middle and high school years he forged a
powerful ego, and made it known to all who knew him. But unlike other
egomaniacs Ultimo backed up his words with solid hard work. When the idea of
joining Starfleet Academy became available to Ultimo he jumped at it, viewing
it as a way to glorify himself even more. Luckily, Ultimo was allowed into
Starfleet Academy at the age of 17 to which Ultimo credited to his good-looks
and charm, but was truly allowed in because of a
computer error. During his Academy days Ultimo managed to maintain good
grades but still got into trouble on account of his inflated ego. Ultimo was
notorious for hitting on any attractive woman he ever met, no matter what he
was doing or where he was. In doing so he offended many of his fellow female
cadets, which almost lead to his expulsion from the Academy. After this
incident Ultimo forced himself to control his ego, but is still working on it
today. Ultimo finally managed to squeeze through
the Academy majoring in Tactical and Security Operations, and minoring as a
mechanical engineer. He graduated in the top 20% of his class and was
assigned to the USS Columbia

FAMILY HISTORY
Alidar is the only child of Aidoann tr'Jarok. His father still remains
unknown to all but his mother. His mother is a SubCommander in the Rihannsu
Galae (Romulan Space Fleet). Although his mother has taken a great
displeasure in seeing her son join the enemy to the empire she serves for and
on numerous occasions has almost disowned him, she is glad to see he is
living well and out of danger, as she always wanted him to be.

PRE-ACADEMY TRAINING AND BACKGROUND
Alidar was raised in a military atmosphere for the most part of his
life. Haakona, the place he was born at on ch'Rihan (Romulus), was actually
a huge military complex. He was mostly raised by his mother's attendents, as
she was always too busy to spend any time with him. She also tried to have
them try to discourage Alidar's telepethic abilies, which he inherited from
his father. They did everything in their power to try and prevent him from
fully developing them.... but in time, Alidar was
able to fully develop his telepathic abilities.

As soon as the Rihannsu High Command found out that Alidar was a Rihan
with telepathic abilities, they decided he was a perfect subject for their
latest project. This project involved enhancing the telepathic abilities of
certain subjects through implants. Alidar was taken from his mother at the
age of 13, and was put into this project. The doctors installed three
implants in his body..... one of them is located in the back of his skull
while the other two are located at the base of the skull on
either side of the spinal cord. The implants are very small... and are
small enough to avoid almost every form of detection. After the operation,
they subjected him to many tests and other types of experiments to help bring
out the full potential of the implants. They did almost too well... bringing
Alidar's telepathic rating up from a level 5 telepath that could read some
thoughts and feel the emotions of others to a level 9 telepath, able to read
almost every mind, feel every emotion, and in a few
cases, able to put suggestions into people's minds (he does not do this
anymore... unless he has to to get out of a tight situation).

At the age of 17, Alidar was finally able to escape from the project.
After four years of tests and experiments, he got a little tired of it. He
was able to escape by using his new telepathic powers, putting suggestions
into the minds of the guards around his room to open the door and escort him
out of the compound where he was held. He was then able to steal a small
transport ship and headed for the Neutral Zone border. He was able to make
it as far as a small outpost before the Rihannsu
government tracked him down. By this time, Alidar had already decided what
he wanted to do. He wanted to escape the wrathfulness of the Rihannsu empire
and live in the Federation. Before the Rihannsu government got to the
outpost, Alidar boarded a small Vulcan transport that had made it to the
outpost, and crossed the Neutral Zone in it. The transport got to a
Federation starship, the USS Bantor, where Alidar got off and started his
carrier in Starfleet.

Pre-Academy Background
T'Ehylara does not reviel much of her past. We know that her mother was
on Khitomer at the time of the infamous Khitomer massacre, but her father's
identity is unknown to us. Suprisingly enough, T'Ehylara does not seem to
bear the Romulans any malice. This is unusual for a desendant of a victim of
the Khitomer massacre.
T'Ehylara has a short and dangerous temper, but it only surfaces when
provoked. Otherwise, she is easy to get along with and has a very jocular
attitude.

Academy Background
T'Ehylara was one of the first Klingons to graduate Starfleet Aademy as a
Science Officer. Security and Tactical did not interest her for she does not
find fighting and war honorable solutions to problems. She studied the
Genesis theory, genetics, celestial phenomenon, and preanimate matter; to
name her favorites.
She graduated with high honors after 4 years of intense study. She had
few close friends upon her graduation, because she was rather seclusive.
She's not unfriendly, she's secretive.

T'Ehylara has been posted on two scientific outposts before she came to

PRE-ACADEMY BACKGROUND
T'Kala's father is Vulcan and her mother is Haliian. She was born on
Vulcan and lived there until she was about 13 years old. At that time, her
parents divorced and her mother took T'Kala back to Halii to live with her.
There she learned the traditions and rituals of the Haliian society. A short
time later, her mother remarried and T'Kala suddenly had two new sisters.
Because she was now a member of one of the more important houses on Halii,
she was required to learn elaborate ceremonies and
participate in a very intricate rite of passage into adulthood. These
ceremonies and preparations took hours of practice and T'Kala's mother found
it difficult to keep her daughter focused. T'Kala would often disappear for
hours at a time, preferring to wander in the woods near her home than to
spend the time indoors practicing.

STARFLEET ACADEMY
T'Kala will be the first to admit that she entered the Academy only to
get away from her mother and step-father. She thought of it as a grand
adventure and had no intentions of staying in Starfleet permanently. However,
T'Kala proved to be an excellent student. All of her teachers were impressed
by her quick mind and eager curiosity. T'Kala did equally well in the
sciences and the arts. She enjoyed biology, exobiology and zoology. Her
favorite classes turned out to be in engineering and
astrophysics and she was able to obtain a dual degree in these two
disciplines.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
She is partially telepathic (a Haliian trait). Generally, Haliians must
use a crystal (called a Canar) to focus their thoughts in order to be
telepathic. However, because T'Kal's father taught her the Vulcan mind meld,
she is able to read thoughts simply by touching the person. She must maintain
this physical connection in order for her telepathy to continue to work. Her
father also taught her the Vulcan nerve pinch.

PERSONALITY PROFILE

T'Kala is named after her father, T'Kal, whom she loves very much. As a child
on Vulcan, T'Kala tried very hard to please her father and struggled to
control her Haliian emotions. Once she moved to Halii, however, she found the
new emotional freedom to be exhilerating. As a teenager she was especially
troublesome to her mother, almost to the point of being rebellious. As an
adult, T'Kala has channeled that energy into her studies and her career in
Starfleet.

She also enjoys singing and dancing -- something that comes to her naturally
due to her Haliian heritage. This is an important part of her culture because
the Haliian ceremonies require one or the other (sometimes both).

SPECIAL NOTES

9610.25 Commanding Officer notes for record that Lt. T'Kala disobeyed a
direct order from a superior officer. On a special mission to Breon to
retrieve two shuttles, Lt. Trista (acting first officer) ordered T'Kala to
launch the shuttle and leave without her. T'Kala disregarded this order and
returned for Trista, thereby saving her life.

9701.10 After her friend Trista disappeared into an alternate universe,
T'Kala became very upset and vowed to find a way to get her back. After some
research revealed a supernova was about to explode in the same area of
Trista's disappearance, T'Kala "requisitioned" a shuttle from the Darmok and
went to observe the supernova and record important data she hoped to use to
find Trista. Unfortunately, T'Kala had forgotten to account for the
possibility that the alternate universe would have a supernova
at the same time, and she was sucked into the temporal rift. She, along
with the Kemo Sabay were sucked into the alternate universe. The explosion
was so large, it permanently sealed the rift. T'Kala found Trista but they
are now both lost and have joined the crew of the Kemo Sabay to try to find a
way home.

PRE-STARFLEET HISTORY:
Kavok grew up in a small Federation colony during the occupation of
Bajor. His mother, a security officer at the colony, had met his father
during a Cardassian attack on approaching Maquis ships. One Maquis ship,
rendered defenseless by Cardassian fire, managed to pull itself into the
planet's atmosphere. Although it was standard Federation procedure not to
assist Maquis agents in any way, the secluded colony felt the pain of the
occupation as well, and rushed to the scene of the crash.
When the team of Federation officers reached the crash sight, it was
found that damage was minimal. There were a few major casulties, but no one
had died. When the security officers opened the storage hatch, expecting to
find thousands of contraband weapons, they found to their surprise a dozen
Bajor slaves, freed from a mining camp. Narthin Kavok, Caballarius'
father-to-be, explained that the emergency raid was successful, for these
were political prisoners, leaders of the Bajorran underground.
Narthin and Kavok's mother, Angela, fell in love immeadiately. Kavok
grew up in a Federation community with Maquis morals: to help those in need
at all costs. He learned of strategic warfare against greater odds, on both
the land and in space. At age 15, Kavok applied to Starfleet Academy and was
accepted.

ACADEMY HISTORY:
Beating out his closest nominee by 8 points, Kavok struggled through the
sciences and histories of academy. He was entirely intrigued, however, by
the Federation tactical studies, and how an unarmed vessel could defeat a
fully armed Bird of Prey using detonated warp nacelles. Determined to become
a tactical officer, he redoubled his studies of the sciences and histories,
spending all of his off-time at the phaser range or in the shuttle simulator.
Kavok graduated with a note on his record from
his professors about his amazing will power.

STARFLEET HISTORY:
With the initiation of the Federation's operation to free Bajor, Kavok
was given temporary assignment at Starbase 23, working mainly on customs. As
it seemed that the Federation would, with no doubt, prevail, Kavok was
assigned to the Galaxy Class Starship, the USS Griffin. In this new
environment, Kavok revealed his exceptional knowledge of security tactics,
and was given a commendation by the commander of the ship during a shocking
Jem Haddar raid on Federation space.
The exponential inclination of Dominion activity near the wormhole
caused Starfleet to assign the Griffin full time patrol of the Bajorran

Personal History:

Trista was born on the warring planet of Daled IV. She didn't believe in the
political views of her family so she snuck off her planet at the age of 16
aboard a merchant trading vessel that came to her planet to do business. She
spent 2 years traveling before she made her way to earth. On earth she met a
woman who "adopted" Trista and helped her decide on a career in Starfleet.
Although Daled IV is not a member of the Federation, Trista requested to take
the entrance exam to Starfleet academy. She
passed the entrance exam with such high marks, that she was accepted in
Starfleet academy on her first try.

Trista is very independent, probably due to her being on her own from the
time she left home at 16. Although she made many friends in Starfleet, she
is a quiet person. Trista prefers to sit back and observe a situation before
she runs head-long into it. By nature, Trista is very curious, and hates not
knowing what is going on in any situation. She has found her shape-shifting
ability very helpful in retrieving information she wouldn't otherwise have
access to. (She has never shared with anyone that
she does this, she is afraid that it will probably get her into trouble.)

Trista has a playful sense of humor with people that she knows well, but is
more reserved around those she doesn't. In her spare time when she is alone,
she enjoys exploring the world as different lifeforms to get different

As a child, Trista was taught at home by her parents and private tutors. Her
parents were both research scientists, and they passed along their love for
science to their children. From a very young age, Trista loved animals and
showed an interest in the biological sciences. Her parents encouraged this
passion and gave her all the information that she could handle. The war kept
her parents from being able to spend a lot of time with her and her two
brothers, and Trista felt that her eduacation was
being cheated by something that she didn't even believe in.

At Starfleet Academy, Trista majored in science and medicine. She had a
strong background in science already due to her parents, but she wanted to
expand her knowledge in this area. Trista found that piloting classes also
intrigued her, and she became a proficient pilot. Trista was not fond of her
weapons training classes, she had experienced too much death on Daled IV, but
she did learn basic combat stategies.

Trista took 5 years going through the academy, due to her double major. She
graduated in the top 2% of her class.

Other Information

Trista misses her family terribly, but has no desire to ever go home. She
has contacted them only once since she left home 9 years ago, and that was to
tell them that she had graduated from Starfleet Academy. They had believed
her to be dead, and were overjoyed to learn that she was still alive, but she
refused their plea to come home.

After Trista made the cross over to the alternate universe, she found herself
in an alien and sometimes hostile environment. She was kept in the alternate
Darmok's brig for several days while the acting captain decided what to do
with her. She was taken to the the Alliance Headquarters where she
interrogated for days. The authorities there, finally convinced that her
story was true, allowed her to return to an acting position aboard the Darmok
in hopes that she would find a way to return to her own
universe as quickly as possible. The Captain of the Darmok was ordered to
continue with its current mission, but to look for a possible means of
returning Trista where she belonged. Trista was not allowed to roam freely
on any planet or base that the Darmok encountered for fear that she would
some how contaminate this universe with her "backward" thinking. Trista
followed all of their directives in hopes of maintaining good relations with
the Alliance of Planets. She knew that if she was ever going
to find a way home, she must remain aboard the alternate Darmok until
someone from her own Darmok found her.

Interface
Hap looks and acts just like a human male. His personality subroutine is
impressionable -- meaning that Hap's personality will evolve as he encounters
various life forms. Ideally, Hap will begin to modify his behavior to
satisfy the needs of those he works for. If Hap serves on a Klingon ship, he
would become more Klingon, and so on. This feature makes Hap a valuable
asset to any ship he serves. The more species Hap is exposed to, the more
dynamic his personality will evolve.

Versatility
Hap is fully programmable. Holodeck characters may be programmed so that Hap
takes on a new appearance. Of course, size must be considered. The
holo-emitters can only project a certain distance from the central unit.
Beyond that, the image will fade. Currently, Hap is capable of projecting 26
other humanoid species, however, the personalities are the same. Hap can
also receive remote links from larger processors for additional programming.
Only ranks of Lieutenant and above may re-program Hap with
approval from the Commanding Officer.

Certification
Since Hap is an assistance program, he contains knowledge of Engineering
technologies, scientific analysis, and some medical history. With alterable
features and phaser resistant shields, Hap is also strategic for security.
Protocols for all of these departments have been pre-programmed into Hap.

Hap has not been declared sentient. Basically, he is similar to the E.M.H.
programs that are becoming standard on new Starships. And Hap may only be
deactivated by the Captain or First Officer.

History: Medical
Shaped similar to an hourglass, Hap's internal casing is approximately two
feet long and a foot in diameter. This casing contains Hap's power supply,
holo-emmitters for projecting Hap's appearance, a vast memory storage capable
of retaining a lifetime of information, and a complex computer processing
unit.

Hap is self-contained and is able to move around freely through a combination
of holographic images and force fields emanating from the internal casing.
Unlike many traditionally holograms and EMH programs, these fields give Hap a
physical being that you can touch and feel. The force fields’ strength can
even be increased to form a force field strong enough to withstand a type I
phaser blast.

Hap contains the most advanced logical processor for interpretive analysis
and comprehensive retention. Hap operates nearly as fast as a positronic
neural net. With advanced thermal ducts, the resulting processing heat
produces a realistic body temperature when operating.

Maintenance
Hap contains several self-modifying and maintenance programs. He does not
require maintenance from other people. He regenerates his power supply every
few months.

Susceptibilities

Hap is capable of sustaining a type I phaser blast. However, like all force
fields, the field weakens as phaser intensity and frequency continues.
Ultimately, the phaser would weaken the field enough to penetrate the
internal casing. Additionally, the internal casing is magnetically shielded.

When activated, Hap is able to submerge in fluids. However, when
deactivated, the internal casing should not be submerged in depths below
1,000 meters or 5 tons of fluid pressure, otherwise leakage may occur.

Hap should not be exposed to temperatures above 800 degrees or below -400
degrees Fahrenheit for extended periods of time.

Thus far, no other susceptibilities are known.

Fleet Captain Richard Semino, Director of the Science Division at Starfleet
Academy, headed the project team in creating Hap. Prior to Semino’s position

highly scientifically advanced people. Their society and government is split
into clans; the clans are further subdivided into families. Doctor S'Vannis
ni Ryr's name indicates that she is of the family Vannis, clan Ryr. Being
S'Vannis ni Ryr means that she is essentially humanoid in appearance, more so
than she might be if she came from another family or clan. Clan and family
loyalty is intense; the Darmiran's history is quite
bloody, with a string of civil wars stretching back to the dawn of their
recorded history. If the Darmiran's were not so long-lived and prolific, they
would likely have fought themselves to extinction long ago.

Warfare is governed by so many rules and rituals that each family has a
member who has devoted his or her life to the study of honor, as they call
it, and is consulted and deferred to in all matters relating to battle. This
scholar of war is called the ni Kor'kek and is the last member of a family or
clan to be killed in the event of a blood war. Killing the ni Kor'kek before
all members of his or her family have been killed is one of the most
dishonorable acts a Darmiran can commit and would turn
all families and clans against anyone who did such a horrific thing.
The Darmiran scientists known as the ne Voran <The Clanless>, are
perhaps the most adept genetic manipulators in the galaxy. Their skills are
used primarily on the clans, they rarely accept commissions from
non-Darmirans. The ne Voran, as the name implies, put aside clan allegiance
entirely and devote themselves to a life of study and experimentation. Their
facility is on the moon of Mira Prime, the innermost planet of the seven
remaining in the Darmiras System. In return for their services to the
clans, the clans will set aside blood wars and come together to protect the
scientists from all incursions by non-Darmirans.
Centuries ago the Darmirans all lived on Mira IV. As technology advanced
and the planet grew overcrowded, the Darmirans began settling the other
planets and moons in their system. The departing clans were genetically
altered for optimum survival in their new enviroment. Hence all ni Torel are
reptilian in appearance, ni Garn are furred and so on. The ni Ryr are
amphibians, well-suited for life on Mira II; which is a basically
flat-surfaced M-class planet, with very few areas of land that are always
above sea level. The most easily noted physical characteristics of ni Ryr
that set them apart from any of a hundred other types of humanoid lifeforms
are their nictitating membranes, or 'third eyelids', which provide their eyes
with a clear shield when necessary; and the symmetrical pair of gills found
on each side of the lower portions of their necks: three slit-like openings
that are very hard to detect when not in use as they lie flush with the skin
of the neck and are of the same pigmentation and
texture.
It is an accepted, though little used, practice to have a child altered
by the ne Voran in utero. Few aside from the ni Kor'kek are created so.
Vendetta S'Vannis ni Ryr is one of the exceptions. Her parents conceived her
for the sole purpose of creating a weapon to use against their blood enemies,
the ni Sil. The ne Voran genetically tailored her to fit the requirements of
her parents and ni Kor'kek S'Ryr ni Ryr. It was considered a great honor to
her parents and Vendetta's 18 elder siblings that
they were selected by the ni Kor'kek to be the nurturers of the ni Sil Xix
<literally, the doom of clan Sil>.
ni Sil Xix S'Vannis ni Ryr, as Vendetta was designated at birth, spent
her first year with the ne Voran, being closely monitored and studied until
they were certain that they had not forged a weapon with an intrinsic flaw or
weakness and that she was suited to the purpose for which she had been
designed. From her first birthday until her sixth, she was raised by the ni
Kor'Kek S'Ryr ni Ryr, who had come to Vannis Haeme to dwell with her birth
family in order to oversee her instruction and training.
On her sixth birthday, the Xix was deemed fully prepared to embark upon her
life's mission and was taken to Mira III and dropped at the outskirts of ni
Sil territory, where she made her way to the nearest Haeme and began the
systematic destruction of clan Sil.

Shortly before her twelfth birthday, she completed her task; the final
member of ni Sil was destroyed: ni Kor'kek S'Sil ni Sil. Although clan Sil
was by no means the largest of the Darmiran clans, it still numbered well
over 10,000 individuals. This number seems unbelievably high by Federation
standards---an adolescent girl killing so many? Many would call it
impossible. However, it must be remembered that the girl was created to do
that very thing and although few other of the Xix have been so
successful, it is not entirely unheard of. Another factor to be considered
is that clan members are allowed to honorably escape their Xix by formally
renouncing their birth clan and having the ne Voran alter them to qwe'soral
<loosely translated: genetic base likeness> with their chosen clan. Such an
altered person becomes a clan member in full standing to his/her new clan and
is considered dead to his/her former clan. As these 'deaths' are a direct
result of the Xix, they are counted among her kills
and no record is kept to differentiate between an actual death and a death
of clan identity.
After the celebratory feast at Ryr Korme and a smaller celebration at
Vannis Haeme, the clan no longer had any use for ni Sil Xix and a meeting was
held to determine what was best to be done with her. There was some
dissension, but ultimately those who argued for her removal from clan life
won. She was, for all intents and purposes, exiled to a small island near the
equator. She spent the next three and a half years of her life there in
relative seclusion, with only a family of me'erti as
companions. At this time, the Darmirans chose to join the Federation and
were accepted as full members. Apparently deeming it an honor for both
StarFleet and ni Sil Xix, the Darmiran Council sent her to become the first
Darmiran to enter SFA.
Her background and history were assigned classified status and, as ni
Sil Xix tends to keep to herself, her classmates at the Academy never became
aware of just who she was and what she was capable of. In the interests of
keeping her identity confidential, the Dean of Admissions was instructed to
provide her with a new name. The man was apparently possessed of an odd sense
of humor and renamed her "Vendetta".
Vendetta was class valedictorian and graduated with degrees in medicine,
strategy and tactics, stellar cartography and federation law. Her first
assignment was the USS Hecate NCC-1842, where she rose to the rank of
lieutenant and became assistant chief medical officer. She recently
transferred to the USS Kemo Sabay NCC-9765, where she serves in the capacity
of CMO.


Counselor's note:

Vendetta is a quiet, serious-minded, intelligent and intense young
woman. She is very much a loner and seems to have formed no close
friendships. Her emotions are kept firmly in check and it is often difficult
for even an empath to detect her emotional state. She has never been known to
cry, grow angry or laugh...to determine if she is incapable of such strong
emotion or merely chooses not to express it is nearly impossible without her
consent and Vendetta has proven uncooperative in the extreme
when it comes to any sort of emotional or psychological testing. She simply
sits staring straight forward during such tests and cannot be persuaded to
particpate in them.
She is honest and forthright to the point of bluntness and seems either
not to understand or simply does not care why some people find this
objectionable at times. She is most content when left to her own devices and
seems to suffer no detrimental effects from prolonged lack of exposure to
sentient beings, ie: companioinship of peers.
On the whole, she is a conscientous officer and would be an asset to

FAMILY BACKGROUND
Anna was an orphan of Bajoran resistance fighters. Her parents were
killed when Anna was only 2 years old. Anna was rescued and adopted by the
Betazoid couple that had been part of the medical team to visit Bajor.
Anna was named by the Betazoid couple that raised her. Even though she
is Bajoran in heritage, she is fully telepathic. Anna was raised amongst
telepathic Betazoids. Through guidance and training from her adoptive
parents, she was able to unleash the telepathic abilities that are hidden in
most species.
Celesta and Ian Treiste did not try to hide Anna's heritage from her.
They told her about the Cardasssian occupation and the horrors of the war
there. They also shared the Bajoran stories with her.

STARFLEET BACKGROUND
Anna joined Starfleet when she was very young. She was only about 15.
Her parents have influential ties to Starfleet High Command.
Anna worked hard in her classes so that she could try to repay her
adoptive parents for all that they had done for her. She worked at a dual
major of security and medical, but she found that she was too overloaded. In
her third year at the academy she dropped her security major and centered on
her medical studies. Whenever she could, she would toss in a training
session or two in defense.
When she graduated she had a full medical degree with a minor in
defense. Anna parents were proud of this accomplishment. She was posted to
the USS Corella after graduation. When she was promoted to a Lieutenant
Junior Grade she resigned her commission because of her compelling need to
help those fighters in the Bajoran resistance.

BAJOR
Although Anna felt like she belong in the Betazoid culture, she still
couldn't help feeling a sense of loyalty to Bajor. After she resigned her
commission she returned to Bajor to fight with the resistance for a few
years.
Due to her Starfleet training, Anna found that the resistance was highly
untrained and leading their fellow compatriots into winless battles. Anna
used her security training to help her rise to the stature of a respected
leader in the resistance. Her band of fighters were quite successful in
their raids against the Cardassians.
On her rise through the so-called ranks of the resistance Anna faced a
lot of opposition. She hadn't been raised on Bajor, but amongst an
aristocratic Betazed family. Many of them resented her for that, and thought
that Anna didn't have her heart in the fight. This was totally untrue.
Anna always refused to give up, proving herself time and time again both
medically and defensively. Anna worked hard in the fight and then in healing
the wounds of her comrades afterwards. Anna saw a lot of bloodshed in those
years, and she refused to let anyone lead them into unnecessary or pointless
battles that were meant only for some ego happy major to gain personal power.

Anna quickly dismissed one such man who challenged her when she had just
joined the resistance. She refused to follow an order that she knew would
lead to certain destruction of her fellow resistance fighters. He called her
out to battle him. Confident in his abilities, Shakon expected to win the
challenge. In the end Shakon was the one on the ground with the blade at his
throat and not Anna. In the end they actually became good friends.
Anna fought for many years with the resistance. When Starfleet began to
work with the new Bajoran provisional government, Anna decided to try to join
Starfleet again.

Anna was reposted to the Corella, at her former rank because her parents
pulled a few favors to get her back in. Anna has NO knowledge of her parents
connections. Within the course of her first year onboard the Corella she was
promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.

USS KemoSabay
Anna requested a transfer to the Kemo Sabay as soon as she heard that it
would be launching. She is the Assistanst Chief Medical Officer.

COUNSELOR'S REPORT
Anna must have seen a lot of bloodshed and pain in her days fighting the
Cardassians. She seems to shy away from security and tactical positions. I
am even amzed that she decided to stay in the medical field. There seems to
be some force driving her to see to the right of things.
Anna does seem to have slight problems with officers that have egos. I
know that she was involved in the Bajoran resistance. I have known Anna for
two years, and she is always willing to stand up against anyone who seems to
be carrying an attitude or bothering other crew members.
There seems to be something else that is in the back of Anna's mind, but
she has always been able to hide it from me. I have always wondered what it
was that she was so afraid fo me knowing.

NOTE TO THE NEXT COUNSELOR OF ANNA LYNN TREISTE:
Watch her carefully. She has a good heart even though she may come
across as rough. Help her to see that not everyone is as bad as she thinks
they are. She has a very hard time with males that act with superiority.
Like I said previously, she seems rough, but she is indeed a very good

Personal History:

Jari's mother contracted Markinson's Disease (see medical history below)
shortly after Jari was conceived. The virus was fast-progressing and Jari's
mother, Danielle, was declared brain dead 8 weeks into her pregnancy. The
doctors kept Danielle alive by using advanced medical techniques for the next
3 months before she was old enough to be transferred to a gestation module
where she finished growing as a fetus for the next few months. The doctors
finally "birthed" her from the module a week before she
was actually due to be born.

Jari had Markinson's when she was born, and the doctors had known that this
would happen. They had spent months working on a cure, or at least a
treatment, but it wasn't until her fourth birthday that they found something
that would work. By that time, Jari had become very dependent on her
hoverchair and was highly reluctant to try and use her own muscles. However,
the doctors and her caretakers were highly persistant and succeeded in
getting her to start using physical therapy.

Her father, Connor, was rarely around while she was growing up in the medical
facility. He was highly despondent at his wife's death and kept to himself,
spending most of his time at his home in Hamburg creating his sculptures. He
visited Jari occasionally on her birthday or at odd times of the year.
However, the older she got, the less he visited her.

Therefore, Jari lived at the medical facility while she grew up. She wasn't
very interested in the medical aspects of the facility she was in...but she
was fascinated by all the different people who came in...who they were, what
they did. She would listen to their exciting tales and dream about what it
must be like to live outside her own little world.

A chance meeting with a famous athlete when she was 7 years old gave her the
inspiration and the determination to overcome her physical handicap. She
began running as a way to strenthen her body. Soon she was running far
distances and competing in various races...by the age of 12 she had run a
marathon. When she was 15, she ran the UltraMarathon in Venice, which
covered 100 kilometers. At 18, just before entering Starfleet Academy, she
completed the world's longest running race: The Chassen 200...a
200 kilometer endurance run through the plains of North America.

Education:

Confined to the hoverchair from a very early age, Jari became an avid reader
as a way to escape her own very small world. She would read anything she
could get her hands on. Over time, she developed a deep desire to explore
the world...and beyond. Convinced that Starfleet held the best offer for
her, she applied to the Academy and was accepted at the age of 18.

While at Starfleet, she competed in the various athletic competitions and was
an outstanding athlete. Her scores were outstanding in the humanities
classes she took but less so in the more science-based classes. Her
instructors noted, however, that these less than stellar marks were not due
to a lack of ability or understanding, but more because of a lack of
interest. Jari always performed exceptionally well in the survival courses
and the Simulation drills during her time at the Academy in which she
felt challenged. She choose to concentrate in sociology/anthropology during
her second year as a cadet and devoted most of her study time thereafter
concentrating on all the various cultures and civilizations that Starfleet
had discovered thus far. She also participated in several First Contact
simulations as a cadet, but so far has never performed one in the field.

Medical History

Afflicted with Markinson's disease in vivo while a embryo, Jari was already
paralyzed at birth. Markinson's is caused by a new strain of retrovirus
which attacks the axoplasma in efferent neurons. The virus is highly unusual
because of its selectivity. It only effects efferent neurons that would
stimulate skeletal muscle. A person afflicted with this disease would be
able to perform such involuntary functions as breathing and circulating
blood. However, in some cases, it triggers an autoimmune
response from the host's body. In these cases, the immune system will
attack neurons in the body...and it is not as selective as the virus.
Eventually the immune system will destroy parts of the victim's central
nervous system, mainly the brain. This is what killed Jari's mother.
Research has shown that this particular complication is prevalent when the
victim is in ill health and has a stressed immune system.

When Jari was 4, the doctors synthesized a new drug: Chlortetrazine. This
drug stimulates the anterograde transport of the various proteins on her
axons. This has the effect of allowing a nerve impulse to be transmitted
from one neuron to the next, allowing for eventual neuromuscular stimulation,
which finally enabled her to voluntarily move her own muscles.

She still receives a weekly dose of the drug, which must be administered by a
doctor. There have been reported side effects from the administration of the
drug, and Jari has felt occasional dizzy spells and shortness of breath from
the effects of the drug. These side effects wear off soon, but they should
be observed by a physcian.

In all other ways, Jari is an extremely fit individual.

Psychological Evaluation

Jari is fairly well-adjusted for such an unusual childhood. She still barely
speaks to her father, who she is very resentful of because of his inattention
to her during her youth. She also has an obsession with exercise, which is
justified due to her medical condition. She can be a bit of a loner, and has
problems sometimes in trusting people. However, she is easy to work with and
has a healthy sense of humor.

Lieutenant Commander S'Vannis ni Ryr is a Darmiran. The Darmirans are a
race of highly scientifically advanced people. Their society and government
is split into clans; the clans are further subdivided into families. Doctor
S'Vannis ni Ryr's name indicates that she is of the family Vannis, clan Ryr.
Being S'Vannis ni Ryr means that she is essentially humanoid in appearance,
more so than she might be if she came from another family or clan. Clan and
family loyalty is intense;
the Darmiran's history is quite bloody, with a string of civil wars
stretching back to the dawn of their recorded history. If the Darmiran's were
not so long-lived and prolific, they would likely have fought themselves to
extinction long ago.
Warfare is governed by so many rules and rituals that each family has a
member who has devoted his or her life to the study of
honor, as they call it, and is consulted and deferred to in all matters
relating to battle. This scholar of war is called the ni Kor'kek and is the
last member of a family
or clan to be killed in the event of a blood war. Killing the ni Kor'kek
before all members of his or her family have been killed is one of the most
dishonorable acts a Darmiran can commit and all families and clans would turn
against anyone who did such a horrific thing.
The Darmiran scientists known as the ne Voran <The Clanless>, are
perhaps the most adept genetic manipulators in the galaxy. Their skills are
used primarily on the clans; they rarely accept commissions from
non-Darmirans. The ne Voran, as the name implies, put aside clan allegiance
entirely and devote themselves to a
life of study and experimentation. Their facility is on the moon of Mira
Prime, the innermost planet of the seven remaining in the Darmiras System. In
return for their services to the clans, the clans will set aside blood wars
and come together to protect the scientists from all incursions by
non-Darmirans.
Centuries ago the Darmirans all lived on Mira IV. As technology advanced
and the planet grew overcrowded, the Darmirans began settling the other
planets and moons in their system. The departing clans were genetically
altered for optimum survival in their new environments. Hence, all ni Torel
are reptilian in appearance, ni Garn are furred and so on. The ni Ryr are
amphibians, well-suited for life on Mira II; which is a basically
flat-surfaced M-class planet, with very few areas of land that are always
above sea level. The most easily noted physical characteristics of ni Ryr
that set them apart from any of a hundred other types of humanoid lifeforms
are their nictitating membranes, or 'third eyelids', which provide their eyes
with a clear shield when necessary; and the
symmetrical pair of gills found on each side of the lower portions of their
necks: three slit-like openings that are very hard to detect when not in use
as they lie flush with the skin of the neck and are of the same pigmentation
and texture.
It is an accepted, though little used, practice to have a child altered
by the ne Voran in utero. Few aside from the ni Kor'kek are created so.
Commander S'Vannis ni Ryr is one of the exceptions. Her parents conceived her
for the sole purpose of creating a weapon to use against their blood enemies,
the ni Sil. The
ne Voran genetically tailored her to fit the requirements of her parents and
ni Kor'kek S'Ryr ni Ryr. It was considered a great honor to her parents and
Vendetta's 18 elder siblings that they were selected by the ni Kor'kek to be
the nurturers of the ni
Sil Xix <literally, the doom of clan Sil>.
ni Sil Xix S'Vannis ni Ryr, as Vendetta was designated at birth, spent
her first year with the ne Voran, being closely monitored and studied until
they were certain that they had not forged a weapon with an intrinsic flaw or
weakness and that she was suited to the purpose for which she had been
designed.
From her first birthday until her sixth, she was raised by the ni Kor'Kek
S'Ryr ni Ryr, who had come to Vannis Haeme to dwell with her birth family in
order to oversee her instruction and training. On her sixth birthday, the Xix
was deemed fully prepared to embark upon her life's mission and was taken to
Mira III and dropped at the outskirts of ni Sil territory, where she made her
way to the nearest Haeme and began the systematic destruction of clan Sil.
Shortly before her twelfth birthday, she completed her task; the final
member of ni Sil was destroyed: ni Kor'kek S'Sil ni Sil. Although clan Sil
was by no means the largest of the Darmiran clans, it still numbered well
over 10,000 individuals. This number seems unbelievably high by Federation
standards---an adolescent girl killing so many? Most would deem it
impossible. However, it must be remembered that the girl was created to do
that very thing and although few other of the Xix have been so successful, it
is not entirely unheard of.
Another factor to be considered is that clan members are allowed to
honorably escape their Xix by formally renouncing their birth clan and having
the ne Voran alter them to qwe'soral <loosely translated: genetic
base likeness> with their chosen clan. Such an altered person becomes a clan
member in full standing to his/her new clan and is considered dead to his/her
former clan. As these 'deaths' are a direct result of the Xix, they are
counted among her kills and no record is kept to differentiate between an
actual death and a death of clan
identity.
After the celebratory feast at Ryr Korme and a smaller celebration at
Vannis Haeme, the clan no longer had any use for ni Sil Xix and a meeting was
held to determine what was best to be done with her. There was some
dissension, but ultimately those who argued for her removal from clan life
won. She was, for all intents and purposes, exiled to
a small island near the equator. She spent the next three and a half years of
her life there in relative seclusion, with only a family of me'erti as
companions. At this time, the Darmirans chose to join the Federation and
were accepted as full members. Apparently deeming it an honor for both
StarFleet and ni Sil Xix, the Darmiran Council sent her to become the first
Darmiran to enter SFA.
Her background and history were assigned classified status and, as ni
Sil Xix tends to keep to herself, her classmates at the Academy never became
aware of just who she was and what she was capable of. In
the interests of keeping her identity confidential, the Dean of Admissions
was instructed to provide her with a new name. The man was apparently
possessed of an odd sense of humor and renamed her "Vendetta".
Vendetta was class valedictorian and graduated with degrees in medicine,
strategy and tactics, stellar cartography, astrogation and federation law.
Her first assignment was the USS Hecate NCC-1842, where she rose to the rank
of lieutenant
and became assistant chief medical officer. She transferred to the USS Kemo
Sabay to serve as CMO. On SD9801.21, she received a field promotion to the
rank of Lieutenant Commander and a further promotion on SD9801.28 added the
duties of Second Officer
to her responsibilities.


Counselor's note:

Vendetta is a quiet, serious-minded, intelligent and intense young
woman. She is very much a loner and seems to have formed no close
friendships. Her emotions are kept firmly in check and it is often difficult
for even an empath to detect her emotional state. She has never been known to
cry, grow angry or laugh...to determine if she is incapable of such strong
emotion or merely chooses not to express it is nearly impossible without her
consent
and Vendetta has proven uncooperative in the extreme when it comes to any
sort of emotional or psychological testing. She simply sits staring straight
forward during such tests and cannot be persuaded to participate in them.
She is honest and forthright to the point of bluntness and seems not to

PRE-ACADEMY TRAINING
Growing up in the early stages of colonization of Rhiani V,Carova
learned the trade of his father helping out on the atmospheric processors and
the like.As the colony grew so did Carova.His mechanical and technical
knowledge grew in leaps and bounds.When Carova turned fifteen a passing
federationship stopped at the colony to check on its progress and Carova was
so awed by the ship and its technology that as soon as he turned seventeen
heenrolled in starfleet.


STARFLEET TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Carova entered the academy at the age of seventeen.His primary
study was Engineering,exceling with honors in propulsion,warp core technical
and statistic anaylisis.Also he graduated in the top ten percent of his class
in Helm Ops,Tactical Procedures and Sensor anaylisis.The areas that slowed
him down ,dropping his promising grade were Particle thoeries,Transporter
Thoery and Astrophysic.The only reason for this is because Carova did nothave
a head for thoeries and the instructors could not understand how he was able
to achieve the right answer without using any of the set thoeries.

Ashley Fox was born in England, but travelled with her parents
throughout the world. Her father was a scientist, her mother an engineer.
She grew up with a brother and a sister both of whom are older than her. She
is the first member of her family to join starfleet, and that she did with a
high degree of opposition. Her sister had joined SF also, and Amber served
aboard the USS Kemo Sabay.
Ashley had been developing her mental abilites with the assistance of
her close friend and colleague Jack Kirmina. Telekinesis, telepathy,
pyrokenesis, are just a few of them, these being the strongest of her
abilities. She has a fear of fire, which ironically, makes her control her
pyrokenesis with absolute seriousness.
Jack and Ashley took part in a Cr'Salien ritual that bonded them as
brother as sister. They now share a mental link through which they could
hear each other's thoughts, and see through the other's eyes. This link can
be blocked at will by either one of them.

=/\= Starfleet Academy =/\=

Ashley entered the academy at the age of 18. She took a few extra years
taking elective classes in order to take a double major, science and
engineering. Her senior thesis was her theory on time travel devices.
Ashley was transferred to Counseling from Research and Developement
while stationed on SB Everest. Her experiences as well as academy courses
have clearly qualified her for this position. She has taken part in several
refresher courses as well as seminars given by SF Academy to prepare her for
this position.
According to Starfleet, her sister's ship, the Kemo Sabay was destroyed
on its maiden voyage while studying a supernova, but Ashley refused to
believe it.
She continued her work on time travel, despite Starfleets disapproval of
the project. Several months after Amber's disappearance, Ashley complete the
device and used it to travel back in time, to the point when the Kemo Sabay
was destroyed. It was a suicide mission; Ashley did not expect to return.
The device malfunctioned, fortunately, and Ashley did not travel back in
time, but was thrown into an alternate universe. There, she encountered
the Kemo Sabay, and returned home with news of their survival. However,
Ashley was court martialed for her actions (which involve theft and
destruction of starfleet property, disobeying direct orders from a commanding
officer, and attempting to interfere with the timeline.) After a painful
trial, the prosecution dropped all the charges against her.
After the charges were resolved, her on again off again lover proposed,
and the pair were married immediately. Fox left the next morning to conduct
research on the location of the Kemo Sabay. Her husband, Lieutenant
Commander John Christian Mars, remained aboard Starbase Everest.
Upon her return to the base, Ashley discovered that John had been
kidnapped. Many weeks later, he was returned. His mental health had
deteriorated due to his experience, and he resigned his position, choosing
instead to become a reporter on the base.
With their schedules clashing, Ashley and John found married life to be
unrewarding. John's emotional needs required more attention than Ashley
could give, and Ashley felt that Starfleet had taken enough time away from
them. Consequently, they bought a house in northern Nevada, and she handed
in her resignation.
John left the station several days ahead of her, with the intention of
preparing the house for the two of them, and the family they were planning to
start. Ashley's shuttle was involved in an accident, catapulting the fragile
space vehicle into an alternate universe. Starfleet presumed her dead,
unknowing that she had wandered into the path of the Kemo Sabay once more.
Reunited with her sister, Ashley volunteered her time, and Commander
Trista took her on as an assistant. One day, Amber went out on a mission and
never returned. Ashley expressed interest in searching for her, but Captain
Ultimo Hebein refused to allow her, and went himself instead. Ultimo never
returned. The couple was announced MIA, and life went on aboard the KS.
Upon Trista's promotion to Captain, Ashley's services were no longer
needed as an administrative assistant, but the counselor position opened.
She requested the position, and it was granted to her.

Hank Cooper was a man of high standards. He entereed Starfleet ot a young
age. He served aboard the USS Enterprise 1701 as an Ensign, later promoted to
Lt and transfered to the USS Hood. After achieving the Rank of Commander was
transfered to the USS Constitution and was killed in the destruction of that
vessel.

Mother - Martha Cooper ( Deceased, SD 9702.11 )
Martha Cooper was a strong women with strong values. After the death of
Jed's father, she raised Jed alone on their farm in Oaklahoma. She instilled
in Jed a strong work ethic and a sense of survival. She died of natural
causes.

Personal History.
Since Jed was about four, Jed worked on the farm doing chores in between
his classes. As Jed got older, his mother began teach Jed how to ride a
horse. Jed soon discovered the legends of the old west. He began to make his
own "six gun". Jed has been fascinated with the old west ever since. He is
often found during off duty hours wearing cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. When
asked about it, Jed was quoted to say: "I like to keep people on their
toes."
When he entered Starfleet Acadamy, Jed decided to make security his
career. He worked hard and graduated on SD 9406.02. Jed was then assigned to
the Kemo Saby as a security guard. He was soon promoted to Ltjg on SD
9701.04. Served as Chief of the Watch on numerous occassions.
Promoted to Full Lt. on SD 9803.15 and Given the duties as Security
Chief.

Pychological Profile.
Jed is extremly stable and old fashioned. He refuses to give in under any
circumstances and will do anything needed to complete his task. He has been
known to thrown high ranking officers in the brig as an Ens foe disorderly
conduct, even Captains, under threat of court-marshal. He has always been
proven right in those cases. He has a strong sense of self and for others. He
was known in school as the "Compassionate Bully". It's was discovered
that he would Bully those who would bully others. Take back what they had
stole and returned the items back to their rightful owners. This tells of the
