"As an android, you could have hurt her more in order to defend yourself.
But you didn't. Why is that?"
"Why would I have? I found the fault to be on my side. She was hurting me.
I could feel it, but I did not want her dead. I have great strength."
"You are within your rights to file assault and battery charges against her."
"I would not."
"Good -- I was hoping you wouldn't."
"She is within her rights to file a harrassment suit on me. Verbal of
course."
"She has declined to file charges as well. You could also be charged with
trespassing."
"I am glad to hear she is not pressing charges. Technically, I cannot be
charged with trespassing. She did let me in and she did let me stay.
Kar'ral raises her eyebrow.
"It was only until I brought up her past that she insisted I leave."
"She let you in under false pretenses. She asked you to leave and you did
not. That's trespassing. It's irrelevant anyway."
"True, but I did have an engineering equation for her and I found out the
answer shortly: How many punches does it take to dislodge an optical eye
chip from my face? It was an engineering equation. She taught me the answer
is 11."
"Interesting sense of humor, Glenborne."
"I am trying to perfect it."
"Keep working on it."
"Do you need anything else from me besides jokes?"
"One more question."
"Go ahead."
"Do you know anything about a missing medical kit from Sickbay?"
"I trust you will find the medical kit back where it was 'lost' from."
Kar'ral looks directly at Glenborne. "I understand." She stands up. "I have
no more questions. You are free to leave."
"It was a very nice day today. Good talking with you. If you need me again,
I'm pretty easy to find."
"Thanks -- oh, and Glenborne?"
"Yes?"
"I would recommend staying away from Stephanie for awhile."
"I will do so. Thank you."
"See that you do. Good-bye."

::Kar'ral walks into the security office and notices Ensign Gard on duty. She
glances into the cells and ensures they are empty::
Ensign, step into my office, please. I'd like to discuss something with you.
Yes, sir.
::Kar'ral walks into her office with Gard close behind. She sits down at her
desk and picks up her PADD::
Ensign, I want to talk to you about the recent incident concerning Stephanie
Pike. According to the duty roster, you were the officer who brought her in.
Is that correct?
No, sir.
::Kar'ral looks at him sharply:: No?
::Gard hastens to explain:: I mean, I was assigned to duty that night, that
is correct. However, I asked one of the other officers to trade duty shifts
with me.
::Kar'ral frowns:: You did this without informing me?
::Gard's face reddens slightly:: I, uh, that is, yes, sir. It was a last
minute change and you were in the holodeck. I didn't want to disturb you.
I see. And which officer did you trade shifts with?
Ensign NoWit, sir.
::Kar'ral makes a note on her PADD:: All right, Ensign. I have no problem
with my officers trading duty shifts, but I expect to be kept informed. You
should have made a note on the duty roster. Understood?
::Ensign Gard is visibly relieved:: Yes, sir. You can depend on me, sir.
It won't happen again.
::Kar'ral nods:: Dismissed.
::The young ensign leaves the room, and Kar'ral taps her communicator badge.
Kar'ral to Ensign NoWit.
NoWit here.
Please report to me immediately. I'm in my office.
Aw, come on, Lieutenant. I'm off duty. Can this wait? I'm kinda busy right
now.
::Kar'ral tenses up at the Ensign's disrespectful tone:: No, this cannot
wait. Unless you are on your deathbed, I want to see you here in five
minutes::
All right, all right, I'm coming. ::The Ensign mumbles something that Kari
doesn't quite catch. She decides it's probably just as well that she doesn't
know what he said. While she waits for NoWit, Kar'ral gets up and paces back
and forth. She tries to formulate her thoughts and exactly what she's going
to say and do. She hears the door chime::
Come in.
::Ensign NoWit enters her office still chewing on a half eaten sandwich. He
sits down and relaxes on her couch, leaning back and stretching his legs out
in front of him.
You wanted to see me? ::He takes another bite of the sandwich::
Yes, I did. I want to talk to you about the incident with Stephanie Pike the
other night. I believe you are the one who brought her in?
Oh, yeah, HER. ::He makes this statement with his mouth full and some of the
mustard dribbles down his chin. He wipes it off with the back of his hand::
Sure, I brought her in. The little hellion was trying to take Glenborne
apart piece by piece.
So you took her into custody?
Sure I did! The brat needed to be taught a lesson.
::Kar'ral consults her notes:: Do you remember whether you said anything to
her?
::NoWit shrugs his shoulders:: I dunno.
::Kar'ral can feel herself starting to lose her temper. She struggles to
maintain her composure::
This is important, Ensign. I have had some disturbing reports regarding your
conduct during the arrest. It has been reported to me that you may have said
certain things to her.
::NoWit tries to remember. As he thinks, he stops chewing, as if he can't do
both things at once::
::Kar'ral tries to jog his memory:: About her background? About Klingons?
::NoWit's face brightens and he starts chewing again:: Oh, yeah, now I
remember. I told her she fought like a dirty Klingon. ::He laughs:: Boy,
she sure didn't like that! It was a good thing I had her in restraints by
then. She looked like she wanted to tear ME apart!
So you don't deny it?
[Return to Archives | Return to Listing ]
Deny what? Telling her the truth? She WAS fighting like a dirty Klingon!
::He laughs and leans forward conspiratorily:: The rumor is she lived with
them. It figures she doesn't know how to act civilized. You know how those
Klingons are, Lieutenant. They're all foul-smelling barbarians:: He winks
at her as if they are enjoying a shared joke::
::Kar'ral sucks in her breath at the unexpected words. It is obvious to her
that the Ensign does not know that she is part Klingon. She slams her hand
down on the desk::
ENOUGH!
::NoWit stops talking and looks at Kar'ral, his eyes going wide in surprise::
I've had enough of your insolence! I want you at attention -- NOW! ::That
last word is more of a growl than anything else::
::The Ensign jumps to his feet and stands at attention. Kar'ral stomps over
to him and grabs what's left of his sandwich out of his hands. She throws it
in the disposal and then turns back around to face him. Kar'ral starts
talking with gritted teeth, barely able to contain her anger at this petaQ
with the bad manners::
When you brought Stephanie in, was she injured?
::The young officer has lost some of his flippant attitude and decides to
answer truthfully:: I think her head was bleeding -- but I can't say for
sure.
You can't say for sure because you didn't get her medical attention, isn't
that correct, Ensign?
::Still trying to figure out why his commanding officer is so angry, he nods
his head:: I didn't think it was necessary. Glenborne was the one who was
really hurt, not her.
::Kar'ral moves in close to NoWit's face, her eyes burning into his::
And when did you get your medical degree, Ensign?
::He stammars slightly:: I.... I ... of course, I'm not a doctor, but....
::She waves her hand and doesn't let him finish:: Starfleet regulations are
clear on this issue, Ensign. All suspects will be treated with respect and,
if injured, will receive appropriate medical attention. Whether the suspect
has been raised by Klingons or not is irrelevant. Is that clear?
::He starts to answer but she shoots daggars at him with her eyes and
continues talking::
I will not have any officer in my department neglecting to get medical
assistance for someone in our custody. I will not have any officer in my
department treating suspects with disrespect. I will not have any officer in
my department calling a suspect names.
::She walks over to her computer and punches a few buttons:: I have just
looked up your service record, NoWit, and what I see, I don't like. You have
had numerous warnings from superior officers, been in several fights, and
disciplined for conduct unbecoming an officer. There have even been several
other complaints filed against you from prisoners. What do you have to say
for yourself?
::NoWit smiles wanly and replies:: Lieutenant, I can explain. Those were
all just misunderstandings.
::Kar'ral shakes her head with disgust:: Yes, I'm sure they were. Well,
Ensign, I'm going to see to it that you have no more "misunderstandings" with
anyone in my department. As of right now, you are transferred to the
Maintenance Department. Perhaps there you can learn to clean up your act.
::NoWit looks shocked:: But, you can't do that!
::Kar'ral looks back at him steadily and smiles thinly:: Oh, yes, Ensign, I
can.... and I have. Now get out of my sight.
::NoWit starts to protest again, but then thinks better of it. He turns and
walks out of the room and Kar'ral sits down at her desk to write a report to
the Captain::

INTERSHIP MEMORANDUM
USS Hermes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TO: Captain Rick Semino
FROM: Lieutenant Kar'ral, Chief of Security
SUBJECT: Investigative Report
Suspect: Ensign NoWit
Charges: Harassment and Prisoner Neglect
Witnesses Interviewed: Dr. Teena, Stephanie Pike, Bethany Duncan, Ensign
NoWit.
Background: Ensign NoWit was the arresting officer of Ms. Stephanie Pike on
SD 9610.29. A complaint was then filed that Ensign NoWit had called the
suspect names and neglected to ensure that she receive necessary medical
attention. Details of the arrest are in the Incident Report filed on that
date.
Investigation Results: In my interview with Ensign NoWit, he admitted to
telling the suspect that she fought like a "dirty Klingon". He also admitted
that he noticed her head was bleeding but that he "did not think it was
necessary" to call a doctor.
During the course of my interview with Mr. NoWit, he did not exhibit any
remorse for his actions. Indeed, he tried several times to justify what he
had done. He also displayed a shocking prejudice against Klingons and had
apparently transferred part of this hatred to Ms. Pike. At one point, he
said that he heard rumors that she had been "raised by Klingons so it was no
wonder she did not know how to act civilized".
I have reviewed Ensign NoWit's record and found several similar instances.
He has been warned many times and even severely reprimanded by his former
commanding officer for Conduct Unbecoming an Officer.
Current Status: Mr. NitWit has been transferred to the Hermes Maintenance
Department. I have also made a notation on his record of his misconduct
during this incident and the reason for the transfer.
INTERSHIP MEMORANDUM
USS Hermes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TO: Captain Rick Semino
FROM: Lieutenant Kar'ral, Chief of Security
SUBJECT: Investigative Report
Suspect: Stephanie Pike
Charges: Assault and Battery
Witnesses Interviewed: Dr. Teena, Stephanie Pike, Bethany Duncan, Ensign
NoWit (arresting officer). I also made several attempts to contact Simon
Glenborne, but as of this date I have been unable to discuss the matter with
him.
Background: On SD 9610.29, security was called to Ms. Pike's quarters. Once
at the scene, Ensign NoWit observed suspect fighting with Simon Glenborne.
He was able to restrain the suspect and bring her into custody. Mr.
Glenborne was taken to Sickbay and treated there for major injuries. Details
of the arrest are in the Incident Report filed on that date.
Investigation Results: In my interview with Ms. Pike, she readily admitted
that she had been the one to deliver the first blow in the fight.
Furthermore, she admitted that Mr. Glenborne did not threaten her life or
attempt to injure her in any way. She cites his conduct of coming to her
quarters and asking her personal questions about her past as the reason for
her attack. A subsequent interview with Mr. Glenborne confirms this story.
In my opinion, Mr. Glenborne did not exercise good judgment in going to Ms.
Pike's quarters and attempting to get her to discuss her past. However, this
is not a crime. In fact, I believe Mr. Glenborne exercised remarkable
restraint during the fight. As an android, he could have caused severe damage
to Ms. Pike in any attempt to defend himself. Instead, he is the one who
required surgery to repair the damage she did to him. I informed Mr.
Glenborne of his right to file assault and battery charges
against Ms. Pike but he declined to do so.
As for Mr. Glenborne, he has admitted that he achieved entry into Ms. Pike's
quarters under false pretenses. Once she knew his true reason for being
there, she asked him to leave several times but he did not do so. I
considered charging Mr. Glenborne with trespassing but the circumstances do
not seem to warrant it at this time.
Current Status: Mr. Glenborne has not pressed charges and Ms. Pike has been
released. Because Ms. Pike is a minor, she has been placed in the custody of
Lt. Cdr. Bethany Duncan. Mr. Glenborne has been warned to stay away from Ms.
Pike and he has agreed to do so.

Stardate 9611.12
Tests have come back from Science. The probe was of Romulan origin, possible
dating back 90 years. The probe had contained a computer virus that once
activated, would keep on shutting down every system until the warp core was
ejected. Then, and only then, would it stop. The tactical database, as we
found out earlier, was falsified. It was only created like a worm on a hook.
And we bit. There are no other traps aboard the probe. We are sending a
report to Starfleet and making a recommendation to
ask the Romulan government for a list of all probes like these that were
sent out and which ones were recovered. Maybe another starship could avoid
the trap that we fell into.
We had also contacted Duster's sister to let her know of Aaron's death. She
was distraught, as expected, but she held her composure very well. I wish I
didn't have to be the one to tell her.
I had noted to the captain that Lt. jg. Jason Storm had been acting rather
peculiar lately. Maybe I should just brush this one off. He had just
arrived on the Hermes and I really haven't had the opportunity to work with
him yet. Maybe, I should just go and see the counselor and hopefully, Beth
can put my mind at ease.

Computer delete that last statement
Which I might add with the other information they were trying to acquire
about the ships along the nuetral zone could have allowed Romulan vessels to
slip into federation space anytime they wanted to.
After being approached I set up a meeting with the captain in the
arbitorum were we discussed a course of action.The agent that approached me
had made a big mistake in saying he had someone watching me....since the
captain and I were unable to determine who and time was running short we
decided that the best course was for me to go along with the mutiny until all
parties revealed themselves.The captain knew he could trust all of his top
officers but didnt want to chance alerting anyone else so he
and I were the only ones who would know.
At the beginning of the mutiny Ensign Kimo revealed himself,I am not sure
but I think he initiated transporting all the officers to the brig and the
civilians to the cargo hold.Then Ensigns Gard and Nitwit also showed up on
the bridge,this was bigger than I first thought.I had to buy some time the
crew was having trouble getting out of the brig and I didnt expect so many
eyes watching me.So I radioed the Phantom the Romulan bird of prey I was to
meet and started to negotiate with them.They soon
learned it was a rouse and I couldnt wait any longer.So instead of lowering
the shields I fired a photon torpedo,which hit but the Phantoms shield
held.Soon some of the crew emerged on the bridge and I turned the weapon
counsole over to Donan...
Running to engineering I tried to assist Ms.Pike in the damage repair,but
am afraid I was more in the way then anything else.But I am glad I did cause
Kimo showed up there we wrestled then he broke free and grabbed Ms.Pike.But
then Lt Karral and LtCdrBeth showed and we were able to get Kimo away from
Ms.Pike.I almost killed Kimo if the Lt hadnt ordered me to stand down.After
the scuffle with Kimo I realized somehow I managed to gash open my
head.Reporting to sickbay at the request of the

when I was suddenly transported into the brig. The rest of the officers were
there, too. The Romulans had taken over the Hermes. We broke out of the
cell, thanks to Commander Raven. Eventually, we regained control of the
ship, and conducted searches for intruders. Fortunately, there was only one

Captain's log, stardate 9611.17. My and Storm's plan worked successfully.
We knew that Romulan operatives were disguised on the ship. Jason Storm was
contacted to rendezvous with the Romulans since they were so close to the
border. They knew of Storm's past and thought they could use him in setting
up the takeover. So Storm and I allowed the plan to progress so we could
capture the operatives.
It turns out that Ensign Gard, Ensign Kimo, and Ensign NoWhit, all security
officers, were part of the Romulan defense. Their identities were soon
revealed after the entire crew was sealed in the brig and cargo bays. We
managed to escape our own brig by means of an air vent, which I might add,
concerns me.
+TAPS+ Captain to Lieutenant KDF. Please ensure the brig is properly
secured by repairing the air vents or placing heavy bars in their place.
Apparently, anyone can escape through the air vents. Captain out.
The Romulan Warbird appeared and began to attack the Hermes once they
realized their plan had failed. We managed to capture Gard, NoWhit, and
Kimo, and to destroy the Romulan ship. The Hermes has suffered damaged, but
repairs are coming along steadily. We will now continue deeper into the
Alpha Quadrant.

We have encountered a Romulan probe of unknown origin. We had been given
orders to report to an area near the Romulan border. It was on this course
that we encountered the probe.
At first glance the probe seemed harmless in nature. Boy can looks be
deceiving. As the Hermes very competent personnel began to scan the probe it
was discovered that we should be able to interface with it.
Karral took all necessary precautions that were possible. She searched for
viruses in the probes database. After discovering none currently known to
the Federation, she began to download the database.
One by one the systems on the Hermes began to fail. It started with the
escape pods going offline. At the time this wasn't a major concern. There
weren't any visable enemies in the area to require us to use the escape pods.
We were soon to find out that this was just the beginning of our troubles.
We experienced transporter failures, loss of communications systems and other
odds and ends power failures. Ultimately we lost different containment
fields in Engineering and the warp core began to
breach. To top it all off the warp core ejection systems went offline.
I heard the warning about the warp core breach. I could sense that Stephanie
and Duster were the only ones that still remained in Engineering. I don't
know what happened, as I was not in Engineering, but I do know that someone
was able to reset the systems to avoid the warp core from actually breaching.
::The realization hits Beth that it means that someone must have been in
Engineering being exposed to that radiation for it to have been stopped. She
searches for Stephanie's thoughts:: ~~Whew. She isn't in Engineering~~

I can't believe what happened today. I was on my way to the Bridge to begin
my duty shift, and the next thing I knew I was in the Brig. As I looked
around I noticed that most of my fellow crew members were also in the Brig
with me. Commander Raven was quite restless. She preceeded to sneak through
an air duct to the outside, where she tackled Ensign Kimo and released the
field.
Haven asked me about sensing anything strange while we were in the Brig. It
was hard to concentrate on anything in particular. Everyone was
disillusioned and confused. The confusion was hard to decipher my way
through.
Stephanie happened to be in the same cell as I. When we were free, Stephanie
and I headed for Engineering to make sure that is it was secure and in
Starlfeet's hands. Stephanie was quite hesistant to enter Engineering. I
know why she was hesistant, but I needed her help if we were going to get the
ship back to running efficiency.
I felt quite out of place. I haven't done any training in Engineering in a
long time. At least not since I practiced the Command Training exercise.
Fortunately I was able to remember the shiled modulations and efficieny
ratings. I shall have to go to the holodeck this week to work on some other
Engineering duties. I must refresh myself again before I apply for the
official Command Training Exam.
Stephanie and I did not even have enough time to get everything together
before Ensign Kimo came into Engineering and proceeded to take Stephanie
hostage. Fortunately Karral entered Engineering and tackled Kimo. Storm
also joined in the arrest by repeatedly going after Kimo until Karral and
Kimo were beamed to the Brig.
I released the forcefield that was holding the civilians in the cargo bay and
proceeded to keep the shields working until we could be freed of the
Romulans.

The Hermes was over taken by a group of Romulans led by Jason Storm, only we
were to find out later that he wasn't working for the Romulans by trying to
help us capture them in the act of stealing Federation files. There was a
great mayhem and confusion aboard the ship when the crew was transported into
the brig. I climed onto one of the air vents, with the help of Teena, and
knocked out a Romulan officer by the name of Kimo. I then proceeded to the
bridge with Lt. Kar'ral beside me.
After a great confusion, where I did not know where I was at, I found out the
Kimo had escaped from the Brig and had taken Stephanie Pike hostage. He was
once again apprhended by Kar'ral. I went immediately to the Brig where I
found Kar'ral (ahem) searching Kimo for weapons. She had uncovered a power
device, which could have been used to escape from his previous cell. I
covered Kar'ral with my phaser while she secured Kimo once again, and this
time for good.
I am awaiting all reports from station on the damage done by the fight with
the Romulans. At the present time, Deck 6 was sealed off due to a hull
breach. Nothing else has been reported in.

Ensign Pavlor is still in stasis. All vital signs are stable. I an still
awaiting word from Dr. Russell on the bacteria samples I sent to her two
weeks ago.
LjgjStorm was injured Sunday during our skirmish with the Romulans. He
sustained a light concussion which I treated with the assistance of Ensign
Grant. We treated the open wound with cordrazine for infection & auto sutured
the gash closed. He was released immediately with instructions to take two
aspirins for pain & call me in the morning to schedule a recheck.
Ensign Grant brought me a sample of tissue that was found on deck where the
bones & shredded uniform of a human being was found.
Apparently she had run tests on the sample & found nothing unusual but she
insists that there is something not quite right about it. Although her scans
revealed nothing unusual I will run some tests of my own.
I have tested the tissue futher & found that it has Andorian DNA & it
possesses a strange enzyme that I've never seen before. I suspect there is
something unusual going on concerning this sample but I can't figure it out
yet.

A strange thing happened today. Lt. Storm paid me a visit in Sick Bay,
and requested my analysis of a tissue sample. The sample, he told me, was
from the scene of a murder. Unable to obtain any other information from him,
we parted and I conducted my study of the sample. I learned only that this
sample seems to be resistant to my scans. Other than that, it appears to be
a normal skin sample. I defer to Dr. Teena's experience in this obviously
urgent matter.
I conferred with her in her office this afternoon. She seemed curious,
as well, but I hope that she can give him more answers than I can.
I have spoken to no one regarding this matter, other than Dr. Teena.
Between the two of us, we should come up with something. However, if we

+TAP+LtJgStorm, I need your assistance here. I seem to have found some
remains.
>+TAP+Remains......? I will be right there. Storm out.
::Standing up, Storm walked to the door, picking up a tricorder on his way::
>Computer, when Lt Kar'ral arrives tell her that I am at cargobay 2
::Not even waiting for the affirmative from the computer Storm heads out into
the hall towards the turbolift.Entering the lift::
>Cargobay 2
::As Storm felt the lift shift slightly he pondered on the word" remains" as
the lift sped him on his way to his destination. With the swoosh of the lift
door, he stepped out into the hall.Seeing farther down the hall he could see
a pale young man standing next to the cargobay entrance. Approaching the man
looked up to him holding his mouth. Seeing Storm the man nodded then ran down
the corridor::
>::Storm smiled::Don't go too far. I may need to question you.
::After the man rounded a corner Storm's expression grew serious as he
entered. Moving slowly Storm made his way through the cargobay coming upon
the "Remains"::
>Computer seal Cargobay 2 off. Allow no one in but Lt Kar'ral and myself...
Authorization Storm Jason Ltjg Assistant chief of Security
Affirmative Security lock in place.
::bringing up his tricorder he began to take readings on the body,well
actually more of a skeletal remain with a tattered and torn uniform.There was
no real muscle or tissue attached to the bones.Only small spots of blood,
which usually meant the body expired somewhere else. With the aid of the
tricorder Storm found out a couple of things first there were strange small
scratches on the bones that were unidentifable and there was something else,
a mass of tissue that was foreign to the rest of the body
lay close by caught on a corner of one of the metal containers in the hold,
and also unidentifable. He could feel the hairs on his neck standing up, he
glanced about the cargobay::
>Computer, is there anybody else in the cargo area?
Negative cargobay is secure.
>Computer, cross index the dental readings off of the tricorder to that of
the medical files of the crews, is there a match?
Affirmative..the records reflect that the remains are of Ensign Biason,
Science officer.
::Hearing the sliding of the bay door Storm turned to see Lt Kar'ral enter
with the young man looking in from the hall he saw earlier. He could tell she
was a bit upset at him... probably for not questioning the man before
entering::
>Lt ::Nodding to her and handing her the tricorder:: Here all the pertinent
data is on top.
::Taking the tricorder, Kar'ral glances over at it then back to Storm::
Assessment, Mr. Storm.
>::Eyeing her for a few minutes:: Well obviously this was no accident and
with the strange tissue sample on that box corner....I believe we have an
unknown murderer aboard this vessel.
How so, Mr Storm?
>::Sighing::Look, Kar'ral, I know this is going to sound crazy or I am
reading too many science anologies lately.....something dissolved all of
Biason's skin, organs, muscles ...everything then sucked it all up. That
would explain why there is no trace of anything. ::Silently:: Almost like a
fly digest its meal.
::Raising a brow, Kar'ral looked to Storm:: What was that?
::Shaking his head:: Nothing.
All right, Storm. Just get this sample to Science. Have them analyze it
immediately. I want to know what we're dealing with here.
Aye, sir...

Today LtnKarral brought me tissue from another murder scene. This time it was
two murders. This tissue was found in close proximity to the bodies. She
asked me to test it to see what I could find.
The first man murdered was Human, one was Bolian & the other was Vulcan. So I
know the murders are not related through some sort of racial hatred. The fact
that only bones & tattered uiforms are left leads me to believe that who ever
is doing this must want the victims blood, organs & tissue, but why? Why is
there only the bones & thier uniforms left?
I tested the tissue & I found that it had Andorian DNA, just like the last
tissue that Grant gave me. I can not keep this to myself any longer. I will
have to discuss this with the Captain.

I have reported to Captain Semino my findings on the tissue samples found at
both murder scenes. Both samples from the two murder scenes contain Andorian
DNA.
The fact that both samples have Andorian DNA has made me suspicious of JarTan
Haven. He is a personal friend & I have tried to reserve judgement because of
this. I even went so far as to withhold important information temporarily.
I can not let my friendship with Haven interfere in my responsibility as

immediately to Captain Semino.
The Captain seemed a bit surprised by my findings & he asked alot of
questions concerning Haven. One of the questions he asked me was if Haven was
the only Andorian on our ship during the time of the murders & I told him
there was another Andorian on board, Thala. But I thought she arrived after
the first murder.

Medical Record for EnsPavlor:
I have identified the strain of bacteria that is in Ensign Pavlor's blood. It
is as suspected, a mutated strain of Alterian Encephalitis.
I have taken DNA from an Alterian Bat, an animal that has natural antibodies
that combat the original strain, to make an anti serum for Pavlor. The anti
serum will not work alone, because the bacteria has mutated, so I will take
DNA from the mutated bacteria & combine it with the anti serum in hopes that
the combination will adapt to itself & destroy the disease.
I have elevated her white blood cell count to fight off the infection, by use
of a plasma infusion unit. I will use a physiostimulator to elevate metabolic
functions & will take all necessary precautions to assure the safety &
success of this procedure.
This is probably one of the most challenging cases I will ever encounter. My
medical career could be in jeopardy if this serum kills her, but I have few
choices left. I am making this choice because I believe it will work &
because Pavlor will suffer massive & irreparable damage to her cerebral
cortex & die anyway.
I consulted with Dr. Lee Grant concerning this case & she agrees with my
dianosis. She has assurred me that she will "officially" support my desicion
& will assist me in sickbay when I administer the anti serum. For the record,
I exonerate Dr. Grant of all responsibility concerning this procedure. This
is my decision & although she supports my decision, I am Chief Medical
Officer & therefore take full responsibility.
I sent a sub Space Transmission & told Dr, Russell that it doesn't matter to
me if it ever gets written up in medical journals if it does work. My first
concern is for Pavlor. I must try everything I can to save her. I have been
advised by Dr. Russell to not use the serum, without further testing. She
wants me to,"play it safe." There is no time, if I wait much longer, Pavlor
will die.

It was very late... or very early if you wanted to look at it that way. The
gamma shift was quiet. Sydney sat in the science labs, looking over the
results of the latest experiment that she and Glenborne had been running.
The science labs were incredibly silent, only the soft hum of growth lights
on some plants giving the room any indication of life.
Sydney felt the short hairs on the back of her neck rise up. She suddenly
felt as if she was being watched. She glanced around the lab, but there was
only herself in there.
"Ridiculous... you're letting all the gossip get to you..." She turned back
to her work.
She sighed to herself. They were getting the same results off the tissue
samples that Teena had gotten, but Sydney felt there had to be something
more. She tapped her fingers impatiently on the desk as she stared at the
piles of slides before her.
"DNA... DNA... a signature more damning than fingerprints...." she muttered
to herself. But she did not want to give up on Haven quite yet. If the bodies
had been stripped clean, then where had all the flesh gone? She wondered if
it would be possible to go look at the remains again... something had to have
been overlooked. Something... something... she felt as if she could almost
but not quite put her finger on it.
She looked over the slides and choose half a dozen specimens from each of the
tissue samples. She placed them on a tray, walked over to the analyzer, and
stuck them inside.
"Computer, run a level one diagnostic on these tissue samples. I want to know
everything about them down to the last cell."
"Working..."
Sydney walked out of the lab and headed down to the ship's morgue.

I am happy to report that I have found new evidence to cast doubt on JarTan
Haven's guilt as the murderer of the three crew members.
I kept thinking that there was somrthing I was missing, something just not
right, so I re examined the tissues that was found at both murder scenes.
Upon examination of the first tissue, I found that there were traces of Gorn
and Aguarian DNA in the original sample. I examined the second sample again.
I found traces of Bolian and Vulcan DNA as well. I remembered now that the
two murdered crewmen were Bolian and Vulcan. I began to form a hypothesis
that Haven may be innocent after all. I went to Captain Semino and told him
what I found.
I must say that the Captain seemed somewhat relieved about my findings & yet
I know he must still be upset by this news. If JarTan was innocent, then
there was still a murderer lose on board our ship.

Last night I could not sleep. I was haunted by the arrest of Haven. The way
he looked at all of us............We were his friends & we had just accused
him of murder, we had turned our backs on him.
:::rubs hands over her face::::::
I kept thinking I had done something wrong or not done enough to prove his
innocence. All I did was help to accuse him. Inside I knew he couldn't have
done these murders, but the evidence was so conclusive, I was forced to look
at the facts. We all were.
I had seen Haven risk his life many times for the sake of his ship mates.
There were times when he put his life on the line, for our safety. It just
didn't make sense.
I am glad that I examined the tissue again. The tissue contains the DNA of
the murder victims & that of Gorn, Andorians & Aguarians. There must be an
explanation & that explanation does not include the guilt of Haven.
I fear we have made agrave mistake in arresting JarTan & I pray we can find
the killer & completely exonerate Haven of this crime.
I pray that Haven will be able to forgive us this great injustice &
understand that we had no choice at the time. I will do eveything in my power
to help solve this case & catch the one responsible for all this horror.
I can't even imagine how this must be affecting Thala & my friend Commander
Raven. Raven had a hand in the decision to arrest Haven & that desicion must
weigh heavy on her heart. She loves him & I don't think I will ever forget
the pain I saw in her face as the guards led Commander Haven away.

I have just returned from a meeting in the Observation Lounge with Lieutenant
Karral, Commander Raven, Fleet Captain Semino, Lieutenant Teena, Lieutenant
Commander Haven and myself. There have been three murders on the Hermes
recently. At each murder location traces of Andorian DNA were found.
This eveidence should point to the killer right? But of course there are
usually more of each race on a starship, so it would still be hard to
determine who the DNA belongs to?? Not in this case. Our CMO, Teena, found
that the DNA is conclusive to Haven. He is only one of two Andorians on the
Hermes right now. He is the only Andorian present on the Hermes during all
three murder time spans.
The evidence was presented to Captain Semino by the CMO and the Chief of
Security. I must say that professionally Karral was acting quite
irrationally. In my dealings with Karral I have found her to be quite
understanding and sensitive. In this case she was very brash and crude.
That is quite unlike her. I am sure that recent stresses and dilemmas from
her department are starting to affect her.
After the evidence was presented to Captain Semino, he called in Mr. Haven.
Haven gave no explanation as to how or why his DNA was present at the murder
scenes. The Captain had Haven arrested and taken to the Brig. Karral seemed
all too happy to oblige.
I could see how distraught Raven was. I need to stop by her new quarters
later today. I am sure that she is going to just need to chat with someone
who isn't going to judge at all. In this case, I just refuse to believe
what the evidence states. It has to be wrong.
I need to personally discuss what is going on with Haven with the Captain.
As the Counselor fo this ship I need to watch out for the well being of the
entire crew. I think that some decisions might need to be re-evaluated when
we are all not so emotional. Deaths of this nature are always discouraging
for the crew. Those that were investigating the murders are very competent.
I just help hoping that somebody made an error.

::Beth lays down on her bed. She tries to clear her thoughts and think of
nothing but the Brig and Haven:: I have never really been able to read

Sitting in Dr. Teena's office opposite her BIG chair, Lee hugged
herself. "This has been a hectic day. Captain Semino put us on Red Alert and
divided the entire crew into teams to hunt for the murderer: a strange
serpent creature.
Dr. Teena, Lt. Glenborne and I were Alpha Team. We started searching
decks 1 - 6, but were notified of sightings. We headed up there and were met
with casualties, Dr. Teena suffering minor injuries herself.
I had prepared a hypo earlier, with a theory in mind. If the creature,
according to Dr. Teena's findings, had Andorian DNA, perhaps I could use that
against it. I concocted a liquid consisting of five different substances
lethal to Andorians.
I attempted to follow the creature, but due to casualties and my losing
sight of it, I chose to tend to my wounded crewmen. I passed my hypo onto
Lt. Glenborne, in hopes it would help. Unfortunately, it didn't do a single
thing. In the process, Lt. Glenborne was seriously injured.
Ensign Bishop and Lt. Donan were both injured as well. I relieved them
of their pain, but was unable to tend them further on deck 14. I would like
to commend Ensign Bishop for his selfless act of going to sickbay to retrieve
some much needed supplies. In his condition, he should not have gone
anywhere, but the rest of the crew were occupied with more serious matters.
The creature was eventually apprehened, however, Commander Haven was
transported into space along with it. I feel remorse at this unfortunate
occurrance."
Lee sat in silence for a few moments, until the SickBay doors opened.
Captain Semino and Commander Raven rushed inside carrying the body of
Commander Haven.
"I rushed to help in anyway I could. Dr. Teena was not available, so it
was up to me. I did everything I could, but then Commander Raven pushed me
aside. She didn't have much more success than I did. I did not want to
believe it. I refused to believe that Commander Haven was dead. I tried a
few injections to stimulate cardiovascular activity, but that failed as well.
A few things occurred after that, which I am inclined to keep to myself,
but the Commander survived. I dare not say how, for that is a mystery even
to me."

time.

"Upon reporting for duty, I was immediately informed that we were on red
alert. Apparently, they discovered who was responsible for those murders. I
was told it was some creature....I actually got to see the thing. It was
scary.
There were some casualties. Some of them major. I hadn't expected to
deal with them out of sickbay, but I had no choice. I did the best I could,
but seeing poor Glenborne in pieces....well, it made my stomach flip flop. I
was terrified. I had to think of my patients, but my thoughts kept returning
to Jason. I was terrified he would do something.....bad to himself. It
really is scary when you care for someone. I was going to go after the thing
myself, but I couldn't keep up. But him....I
was so scared for him.
Thankfully, he was alright. But Commander Haven....well, it appeared
that we had lost him.
He was brought into SickBay shortly after, when Dr. Teena was not
available. I saw the condition he was in, but I wouldn't give up. Some
people may say that's commendable, but I was afraid. I have never lost a
patient before. I didn't want him to be my first. Long after it appeared he
was gone, somehow, he came back. He fought....and he made it.
I realize, if it hadn't been for his fighting spirit, and his genetic
structure, I would have lost him."
She sat on her sofa, sketchbook in hand. The open page was a picture of
herself. In tears. Devastated. She shivered, knowing that if Commander
Haven had indeed died, this is what she would have looked like. And she
would have deserved it.

The Hermes was evacuated of all civilians and non-essential personnel before
we could start the search for the creature. My team started on Deck 11
(Donan and ADF) while the others were spread throughout the ship. Deck 11
looked clear and so did Deck 12. Then we got to Deck 13 (my lucky deck) and
that's when it attacked. We tried to fire our phasers at the creature, but
it was useless. The creature was just absorbing the energy of the phasers.
When I tried to evacuate the team from the deck so we
could get a force field around the creature, the other teams showed up and
started firing at it. Teena was injured during all the mayhem and Ens Cheese
(?) was killed. The creature punched a hole through the ceiling and made
it's way to Deck 14.
On Deck 14, the mayhem started all over again. This time, Glen and Donan
were injured. Actually Glen was torn to pieces. Teena and Grant are in the
process right now of putting him back together, since he is an android.
Bishop tried to rush at the creature and was thrown down a hole (?) into
another deck. Finally Haven was able to get near the creature and he
swallowed up whole. Both the creature and Haven were transported into space
and it took awhile for Haven to get back. We nearly lost him for
awhile there but he is recovering right now in sickbay.
The crew right now is in the process of repairing the damage on Decks 13 and
14. after that, we should be able to get all personnel and civilians back on
the ship.
Lt. ADF was reprimanded on his behavior during the search...more on that
later after the Captain makes his decision.

Today Ensign Grant & I administered the serum I had been working on for
Ensign Pavlor,in hopes that it would cure her illness, a mutated form of
Alterian Encephalitis
We decided we had no choice for her cerebral cortex was showing signs of
extreme stress & deterioration. In my professional opinion she would have
experienced brain damage within 48 hours.
We hooked her up to the physiostimulator to elevate metabolic functions. Her
white blood cell count was elevated to fight off infection by use of the
plasma Infusion unit. We were as ready as we could be.
We first took her out of stasis & then injected anesthizine as an
anesthesia.We could not administer the serum while she was in that state
because there would be no way to monitor her accurately if she was under
stasis. Then we injected her with the serum.
All of her vital signs were stable. Alterian Encephalitis causes delerium &
abnormal brain fluctuations & we knew it was working because her brain
activity levels were rising to normal readings.
Grant noticed Pavlor's neural transmitters were fluctuating wildly so we
quickly used the the neural stimulator to bring her levels back to safe
levels. We almost lost Pavlor then but due to the quick response of Ensign
Grant, we were able to save her & possibly both our medical careers in the
process.
Pavlor regained consciousness within the hour & is recovering in sickbay, in
our intensive care unit. She is a little disoriented but all signs of
delirium & hallucinations are gone.
I have contacted Dr.Toby Russell at Starfleet & they have requested, no
ordered, that I transfer Pavlor to Starfleet for additional treatment & have
requested that I include afull report on our procedure in administering the
serum. They have requested we send a sample of the serum & a complete report
on its components.
Grant has been taking a special interest in Pavlor's case, monitoring her
vital signs, making sure that the nurses are doing thier jobs in the care of
Pavlor. I can't help but think she is doing this partly because she knows how
important this case was to me.
Her conduct is exemplary & she performs her duty as a Starfleet officer &
doctor with valiant devotion & in keeping with the highest standards of

We will be transferring Pavlor to the Starfleet facilities on Earth within

Ok, now that that has been said, I'll get on with my report.
We were put into search parties and began looking for the creature.
Commander Raven, Delta team's leader and one of my superiors, took us into
the depths of the ship to find the thing. ADF and I spread out and kept in
visual range of the Commander until it found us.
We discovered a quite discourageing attribute of the creature... an
extreme resistance to phaser fire... made my body seem like a sponge in
compairison. Well, it escaped from us the first time but the next time we
wern't so lucky, or I wouldn't be in here.
The last things I remember are being blindsided by its tail and sort of
comming to in the grasp of Commander Raven as she pulled me free of its
range. I also seem to remember seeing an arm, I think it was Glen's fly past
my head and land on the deck beside me. ::thinks for a minute:: I guess we
won, but I don't have a full memory of the fallowing events. ::looks
around:: I hope everyone survived. When I'm back on my feet I'll have to
check the offical logs about the incident.
::gets a little impatient for the information he wants just after that::

::he Calls Dr. Grant back over::
Donan> Dr. Grant, I have a few questions about the last day or two...

Donan> well first of all, did everyone survive it? I mean, we won right?
::thinking more about his crewmates saftey::
Grant> Yes, Lt. We won thanks to Commander Haven....he risked his life.
There were a few casualties.....it wasn't pretty.
Donan> what about Raven... I saw her go back into the fight after she pulled
me from it... is she alright? ........ <wispers> I owe her my life.

Ok... one question... where did you get these guys? My guess is out of an
old Home Improvement Episode! My shower has been out for almost 6 hours... I
came in this afternoon to find three men in engieneering uniforms in my
bathroom tearing things apart. I asked you about the shower some time ago.
I never thought there would be three people assigned just to my problem in
the head. I do have to admit that they did wonders for the Holodeck... I
just came from there. At least I can have a simulated
sonic shower.

Duty Log SD 9611.25
Dr. Teena prepared the serum to administer to Ensign Pavlor. Her
condition had not improved, so Dr. Teena decided that it was time. If we
waited any longer, the serum may not have been effective enough.
Dr. Teena administered the serum, I assisted. Pavlor's vital signs were
pretty low, but they were consistant. However, halfway through, her neural
transmitters began fluctuating. We responded quickly.......and she responded
to the treatment.
It looked bleak at first, but her vitals steadied.
She regained concsciousness, and as expected was quite disoriented. She
seemed to be doing well...Dr. Teena and I left her to a nurse's care. Only
observation, now. And time.
I am proud to be working under Dr. Teena. She is a brilliant
doctor...I only hope I can follow in her footsteps. It seems though, that I
have the best mentor.

Status Report on USS Hermes, Sickbay, deck 7.
Stardate 9611.28
* Damage in our assigned area.
Ensign Grant has reported no damage in any areas of sickbay.
After our last mission I ordered maintenance to do a complete check over on
all of our equipment. I am happy to report that they found all the equipment
in sickbay to be in top condition & running smoothly at maximum levels. We
have just completed inventory on all of our medical supplies. I am happy to
report that our supplies are well stocked & we are ready to respond to almost
any emergency.
* Damage outside our area that directly affects our work.
I have just recieved a report from Engineering & they have assured me that a
complete diagnostic will be performed on all systems that are linked to
engineering. Engineering has reported that they have everthing under contoll
& we should not be affected in any way due to any damage that they incurred
during our last mission.
* Casualties (and fatalities)
I am sorry to report that Ensign Bird was killed during the skirmish with the
creature. Let it be noted that he gave his life for his comrades & in the
line of duty. We will miss him. I will attach acomplete autopsy report & send
it to Starfleet along with his personal record & personal belongings.
I will be working with Counselor Beth on the handling of this situation.
Diagnosis on Ensign Bishop:
Bishop was struck in the chest by the creature. He suffered four broken ribs
& a ruptured esophagus. Due to his Klingon physiology, Bishop's backup
synaptic system probably helped save his life.
He was injected with 20cc's of Metoraphan for regeneration of his broken
ribs. Anyone else having 4 ribs broken with such intensity would have most
likely suffered a collapsed lung. Klingon's have four more ribs than Humans &
most other humanoids, this gives them added support & protection from any
injuries that they sustain in the chest area. Sishop is 1/2 Klingon but was
fortunate enough to have been born with the Klingon physiology traits.
We performed minor surgery to repair his rupture esophagas proceedure as
follows:
We placed the patient on life support & administered 10 cc's of Anesthizine
for anesthesia. [I don't know if anyone noticed but it is my fav when it
comes to ansthesia]
By use of an exoscalpel we made a small incision in the region of the
trachia. Doctor Grant monitored the plasma Infusion Unit, Pumonary support
unit & all vitals.
I repaired the rupture by using my neural callipers to clamp off the main
artery. Then I applied quadroline for molecular regeneration of the damaged
tissue. We closed by autosuturing the wound by use of my medical tricorder.
Ensign Bishop is expected to have acomplet recovery & should be released from
sickbay within 48 hours.
Diagnosis on Commander Raven:
Commander Raven suffered a gash in her left leg that was sustained during the
fight with the creature. She had a minimal loss of blood & her six inch wound
was closed with autosutures. We advised her to take the painkiller perscribed
to her but she refused all drugs, except for the antibiotics, saying,& I
quote, that she had to" keep her head clear."She was released from sivkbay
immediately.
Let it be noted that Commander Raven recieved this injury in an attempt to
protect me from the attacking creature. Her courage & valor was beyond the
call of duty & because of her actions. We suffered aminimal amount of
casualties.
Diagnosis of LtjgDonan:
Donan was diagnosed with a punctured lung & an inflammation of the mucous
membrane that lines the Bronchi. He was hit in the chest by a sweep of the
creatures tail. We administered Anesthizine for anesthesia, opened his chest
with an exoscalpel sealed the punture by use of of a molecular biogenerative
beam. We closed with autosutures & Donan was administered a mild painkiller &
sedative. He was released from sickbay the next morning.

Diagnosis of Glenborne:
Glenborne's left arm & right leg was torn from his body by the creature. His
leg was attached at the scene of the injury but due to the medical crews
hurried emergency medical treatment it was attached in a somewhat backwards
position.
Lieutenant Aland & I worked together to repair Glenborne's body, Aland ran
acomplete diagnostic on Glenbornes system & found that he needed only one
microchip replaced & two synaptic connections rewired. I reattached
Glenborne's leg & he walking completly normal now & is suffering no ill
effects from his traumatic ordeal with the creature.
I examined his left arm & am proud to report that Dr. Grant did a superb job
of reattaching the severed limb & reconstructing the damaged area around the
wounded shoulder.
* Goals and progress of repairs.
Our immediate goal is to make sure all patients recieve the best care that my
staff & I can provide. I have complete confidence that my staff will continue
to perform thier many essentual duties with the same skill & devotion that
they have shown in the past.
Due to thier quick thinking & spendid initiative, my crew in sickbay were
responsble for minimizing loss of life.
We will do a complete diagnostic on all medical equipment periodically, to
insure that they continue to operate up to Starfleet specifications.
Added Notes: Let the record show that I will be sending in recommendations
concerning my staff to the Captain. I will submit to him to him full reports
on those officers I deem deserving of special Commendations as a result of
thier inspiring conduct under extreme & hazardous conditions.

INTERSHIP MEMORANDUM
USS Hermes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TO: Captain Rick Semino
FROM: Lieutenant Kar'ral, Chief of Security
SUBJECT: Investigative Report
Suspect: EnsGard, EnsNoWit, EnsKimo
Charges: Espionage, Attempted Theft of Federation Property, Attempted Murder
Witnesses Interviewed: None (not necessary)
Background: On SD 9611.17, suspects attempted to hijack the U.S.S. Hermes.
It was discovered that said suspects were working in conjunction with the
Romulans for their own personal gain. The attempted murder charges are filed
against EnsKimo for his actions in taking Stephanie Pike hostage during the
attempted takeover. The other two suspects have been named as accomplices.
Details of the arrest are in the Incident Report filed on that date.
Investigation Results: All suspects have been completely uncooperative.
Medical reports indicate that both EnsNoWit and EnsGard are Romulan. It is
my belief that they have been masquerading for quite some time as Federation
personnel and were recently transferred to the Hermes in order to facilitate
her takeover.
EnsKimo, on the the other hand, is not Romulan. He is Bajoran and a known
Maquis sympathizer. My research into his background indicates that he is a
"soldier of fortune" who is available for hire to anyone who can pay his
price. I believe the Romulans hired him for his knowledge of Federation
starships.
Current Status: All three prisoners were transferred to the Federation
prison on Mars to await court martial. However, I have recently learned that
EnsKimo has escaped. Reports indicate that he may have been assisted in his
escape by the Maquis.
::Kari walked into her office and lay down on her couch. Well, maybe
"collapsed on her couch" would be a better way of putting it. She lay her
arm across her eyes and was grateful for the fact that she could finally take
a moment to relax. She decided she had better catch up on her logs while she
had the chance::
Computer, open duty log, authorization Carraya 4.
Computer > Duty log open.
The last two weeks have been murder (no pun intended). I have been so busy,
I just have not had a chance to do anything. Except for the occasional nap
here on my couch, I haven't been sleeping. And the only meals I've had are
the occasional sandwich in my office or on the run.
Two weeks ago, the Hermes was on its way back from the Romulan border. I was
just getting ready to go to the holodeck when I was suddenly transported into
the brig, along with the rest of the officers. My own assistant, Jason
Storm, was apparently in league with the Romulans. He was getting ready to
turn the ship over to them!
We began to try to figure out how to get out of the brig. Donan and
Glenborne wanted to try to break through the forcefield, but I told them that
I had just finished reinforcing the shields the week before. After seeing
Donan break through the shield on Sintari 5 and considering Glenborne's
little escapade with Stephanie, I thought there might be a time when I would
need to restrain one of them. I wanted to be prepared. Little did I know
that I would be trying to break out of my own brig!
Anyway, I decided to try my security override codes, but they didn't work! I
can only assume that Storm had somehow changed them without my knowledge.
Commander Raven tried her command codes, but they had been locked out as
well. Finally, she suggested trying to escape through the air vent.
Frankly, I was skeptical, but we did manage to open the vent and Raven
crawled through them. Since that time, I have arranged to put bars across the
air vent, so that they can't be used in the future for any kind
of escape.
About the time that Commander Raven was in the vent, EnsKimo came into the
brig. At first, I thought he was there to help up, but it turns out he was
one of them as well. I am sorry to say that my entire security staff:
EnsKimo, EnsGard, and EnsNoWit were all Romulan spies.
Raven managed to jump Kimo and knock him out. She then released us and I
threw Kimo in the brig. I have to admit that I enjoyed doing that. My
temper was beginning to get the better of me. It was a good thing there was
now a forcefield between us. Haven and Raven both must have sensed how angry
I was. Haven grabbed me in order to keep me away from Kimo, and Raven
ordered me to go to the bridge with her. Once at the bridge, we began our
search for NoWit and Gard. Much to my relief, the Captain had
explained to us that Storm was actually on our side. He had only been
pretending to cooperate with the Romulans.
EnsKimo managed to escape from the brig and I received a report that he was
in Engineering. The Captain told me to go after Kimo and isolate him. When
I arrived in Engineering, I saw Kimo but he was holding Stephanie hostage.
Storm was there, trying to calm him down, and I signalled to him to keep Kimo
distracted. While Storm continued to talk to him, I sneaked up behind Kimo
and managed to grab him before he could harm Stephanie. During the struggle,
my phaser went off and hit my arm.
Kimo was able to get away from me, and he ran to the engineering panel. I
assume he was after the warp core. Beth jumped on Kimo and began punching
him and then Storm grabbed him by the neck. I was afraid that Storm was
going to kill Kimo, so I ordered him to stop. I requested an emergency
transport to the brig, and Kimo once again found himself in a holding cell.
[Return to Archives | Return to Listing ]
This time I frisked him to make sure he couldn't escape again. I'm glad I
did because I found a device of some sort. It wasn't a weapon, so I assume
that it allowed him to turn off the forcefield. Raven walked in while I was
frisking him, and I guess she thought I was beating him up or something
because she ordered me to get out of the cell. While I was distracted, Kimo
jumped on me and I turned around and punched him. Raven held a phaser on him
while I left the cell. Just to make sure there were
no more tricks up his sleeve, I then released sleeping gas into Kimo's cell.
The other traitors were apprehended soon after that.
Medical Officer
USS Hermes
Status Report
Diagnosis of Ltn Teena:
Ltn. Teena was injured in the process of chasing the creature last mission.
She was struck and suffered a head injury. She lost consciousness
momentarily, but responded to first aid. She recovered from the minor injury
almost immediately and has no recurring symptoms from the head wound.
I would like to note that the second time she lost consciousness had no
connection with the injuries endured during the mission. The culprit in that
instance was the mass amount of overlyhysterical intership mail.
NOTE: The Captain has been informed of this situation aboard the Hermes.
Hopefully, it will be rectified soon, before another crewmember is brought
into Sick Bay in that condition.
Diagnosis of Lt. Commander Haven:
Lieutenant Commander Haven suffered from cardiac arrest resulting from his
contact with space when the same creature referred to above was transported
off the ship. I attempted to resucitate him, but failed. He was pronounced
dead for over seven minutes before he showed any signs of improvement. Due
to a regenerative ability, his body was able to heal itself in a self
constructed cocoon. He has since emerged and is resting in Sick Bay. He is
expected to fully recover.
NOTE: Due to the high stress of the circumstances, I recommend that
Lieutenant Commander Haven report to Counselor Bethany Duncan before
returning to duty.
TO: Captain Rick Semino
FROM: First Lieutenant Kar'ral, Chief of Security
SUBJECT: Investigative Report
Suspect: Lieutenant Commander Jar'Tan Haven
Charges: Murder, three counts
Witnesses Interviewed: None
Background: On Stardate 9611.20 the shredded uniform and the remains of
Lieutenant Robert Biason were found in Cargo Bay 2. Skin tissue sample were
found at the scene and subsequently analyzed by our Medical Department. Dr.
Teena discovered traces of Andorian DNA. On Stardate 9611.22, two more
bodies were discovered (one Vulcan and the other Bolian). More tissue was
found at this scene, and again it was found to contain Andorian DNA. Mr.
Haven was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of
three counts of murder.
On Stardate 9611.23, further tests of the tissue samples revealed that not
only was there Andorian DNA but also traces of Gorn, Aguarian, Bolian, Vulcan
and Human DNA. Another murder occurred while Haven was in the brig and he
was subsequently released.
Current Status: It was determined that the murders were committed by an
alien intruder which somehow had managed to come on board the Hermes. All
charges against Lieutenant Commander Haven have been dropped.
