Transportation
There are 3 runabouts available to the USS Halifax. All are equipped
differently, and are tailor made for specific missions. Use of these craft
are restricted to CO's and/or XO's approval. The three Runabouts are:

USS Seine - Standard Runabout
NX Avery - The TICK Project Lead Ship
USS Baton Rouge - Captain's Runabout/Captain's Yacht (This runabout is a
modified runabout, with special docking ports along the lower saucer
section)

There are a total of 25 shuttle craft aboard the USS Halifax. In any given
situation, there are a minimum of 10 shuttles ready for immediate launch,
with another 10 shuttles in Launch Standby. The remaining 5 shuttle craft are
tailored for specific mission types, all of which are still classified.

Background
The USS Halifax incorporates several early concepts for the new Nova class
starship. Designed by a team of 62 Starfleet Engineers, the design team spent
17 months in Research and Development before construction began. The team,
headed by Commodore Nathaniel Martak, was composed of some of the most
distinguished research engineers in Starfleet.
Versatile. That describes the Halifax, which can make the transformation
from a scientific research and exploration vessel, to a fully armed,
battleship in approximately 14 hours at starbase, or 26 hours in the field.
Usually though, the Halifax is at a 50/50 split between exploration vessel
and fighter ship. Being more of an R&D ship, because of its versatility and
constant system upgrades, the Halifax is one of the most intricate ships in
the
fleet.
The specific nature of the Halifax's missions vary. Her primary mission is
to work in Bajoran space, attached loosely with DS9 and 10. Her mission
nature is split due to her split design. In cooperation with the Bajoran
Provisional Government, she has been assigned to work with the Bajorans and
the other governments in the area to help explore and chart the Gamma
Quadrant. Long range missions have yet to be established deep into the
Dominion territory, and exploration of the territories through the Wormhole
have been
limited. The Halifax also helps with Maquis situations to try to resolve the
disputes and work with all parties involved to resolve the situation and
return peace to the Bajoran territories

Refit
The USS Halifax was refitted at Starbase Everest beginning on stardate
9706.25. The Research and Development staff at Starbase Everest took the
original specifications and data on the Halifax, and rewrote them into this
knew format. After taking the old information and putting it into a new
form, new technology was added. Most of the technology below were take from
Everest's past R&D projects. Most systems are already in use in other
starships, with the exception of the intercept.

Modified Cloaking Device
This multi-functional cloaking device, which was developed from the
prototype first issued on the USS Excelsior, is one of the Halifax's greatest
defenses. The cloak, which has been developed to operate at more power
continuous levels has 2 modes. Unfortunately, the power drain on the power
reserves, and cloak emitter elements, make some cloaking limited.
Normal Cloak
This is the cloaking mode most common for the Halifax, and the mode at which
she operates at most of the time, even at normal cruise situations.
Phase Cloak
This cloaking device can allow a ship to cloak and conduct a phase shift to
pass through solid matter using the same theories in transporter technology.
The phase cloaking will allow a starship to "hide" within solid matter-be it
an asteroid, moon, or other dead planetoid. While extremely experimental,
this cloaking mode is partially available under certain circumstances and
situations.

Intercept
The intercept is a modified torpedo, with all destructive material removed.
It is replaced with a device that detects the small warp field of a torpedo,
and locks on. All torpedoes have a warp field handed off to it by the
launcher. Along with the warp field, the approximate course of the incoming
torpedo is handed off to the torpedo in the form of a warp field data coding,
but is translated into data the intercept can read, much like a
modem. The device which locks on to the warp field will verify the course of
the incoming projectile, and lock on. Once it is locked on, it cannot alter.
If the approximated course was incorrect, the intercept will miss, and may
hit the attacking ship. Since the destructive material is removed to
minimize the explosion, the intercept cannot damage the attacker if it misses
the torpedo.

Ablative Shields
The Halifax is equipped with the new impact-sensitive ablative shielding,
recently upgraded to improve system endurance. This system is comprised of 97
small emitters placed over the outer hull which focus secondary energy at the
point of impact of a foreign object. When a hostile energy burst is detected
approaching an area of the hull, the emitters and sensor systems calculate
the point of impact and focus resistant energy in that location, effectively
increasing shield strength at that point by approximately 175% and
reducing the force of impact by nearly 64%. The system is able to handle up
to 8 simultaneous hits for up to three minutes, after which the system has
shown to loose effectiveness in computer models. The system has shown to be
only partially effective against torpedo-type weapons, reducing the yield of
these weapons to
approximately 78% of maximum.

Phaser Panels
The phaser panel is a modified hull plate, made up of an 8m x 8m crystal
similar to the ones used in segmented phasers, which is put in place of the
original hull plate.
Targanide crystals (being used for the warp drive), were discovered by
FsLtObrien to have the ability to absorb and release large amounts of energy
faster, and, with the aid of Federation technology, can also contain the
energy longer. They also distribute energy faster than LiCu518 (crystal used
in normal phasers).
Using a tied in system with the targeting computer and 150 small power
distribution nodes, the panel has the ability to fire from every point on the
panel, and on any angle. The distribution nodes are located on the back of
the crystal panel, and determine the best location for the beam to be emitted
from, depending on the target. It also controls the width and strength of
the phaser emitted from that location. The Targanide crystal also has the
same paranygen animide for structional surface protection used by normal
segmented phasers.
The control pad on the tactical panel on the bridge would allow the user to
quickly select the length, power, and strength of the beam. If the situation
arises, the panel can be modified to fire a .75 second burst from the entire
panel (an 8m x 8m beam), called a phaser burst. The downside is it will
burn out the distribution nodes. The upside is the phaser panel is much
easier to repair, since it is comprised of only one piece of crystal,
instead of many segments, and the distribution nodes would have an auto
repair program in place.
Activation/Fire Process
Upon recieving the command to fire, the EPS submaster flow regulator manages
the energetic plasma powering the phaser panel, through the distribution
nodes. Distribution response is time is 0.0075, an improvement of 0.0025.
The magnetic switching gates were taken away because it would be too power
costly to have them coordinate with the fire control of each single
distribution node.

Targanide Warp Drive

The Targanide Warp Coil Assembly uses only two coils instead of the standard
multiple coils. The assembly uses two elliptical coils (port and starboard)
set in a figure eight pattern with a gap of 3.27 meters between them. This
gap is necessary for the correct formation of the warp field. Because this
assembly uses only two coils the overall mass of the drive is reduces by
approximately 68%.
The warp field created by the coils is 52% more compact then the standard
field. This field increases the structural integrity of the ship by 30%. This
will reduce the need of SIF generators being on line during warp flight.
Another advantage is that this drive has a .23 second quicker acceleration
than standard drive. At warp 9 the energy efficiency of the drive is 93%.
While at warp speed the warp field has been shown to absorb sensor reading
thus
reducing the ships' sensor image by 48%.

Targanide Accelerator Core

This core is completely separate from the main warp core and has no contact
with the matter antimatter streams. The Targanide Core is composed of a solid
mass of Targanide crystal with a series of injectors and distribution nodes
to control and redirect the plasma flow. The plasma stream is injected
directly into the core where it is amplified and distributed through out the
ship.

This core has two main functions:

1. When the main warp core is functioning and the Accelerator Core is fully
charged it will provide a 124% increase in energy output.

2. During main core shut down or when it is damaged, the fully charged
Accelerator Core will provide enough power to operate the Targanide drive at
Warp 1 for 45 minutes, or Warp 2 for 15 minutes. It will also provide enough
power to operate all emergency ship system for an equal amount of time at
warp speed, or emergency systems for 3 hours at non-warp speeds.

WISCRS
WISCRS (Wandering Intensified Steller Cartography Research Sensors) are a
network of miniature probes surrounding the Halifax during space travel. Each
probe is warp capable, having a linked navigational computer with the helm
console on the bridge, allowing the WISCRS to travel with the Halifax
wherever it goes.
The WISCRS have the ability to travel at much higher warp speeds using
several miniature tractor beams holding them within the warp field during
warp. During this time, the sensors are deactivated to conserve energy.
When the Halifax drops out of warp, the tractor beams disengage, allowing the
WISCRS to "wonder", within a certain radius. Computerized sensors and
linkage systems prevent the WISCRS from leaving this radius.
The WISCRS use basically the same sensory systems as probes. All data
recieved from the WISCRS are transmitted to Deck 22, where it is compiled and
recorded. The data is then transferred to the science consoles on the
bridge, and is also accessible from Tactical, Helm, and Operations.
Upon the activation of the cloak, the WISCRS automatically travel to a safe
position close to the hull where the cloaking field will effectivelly mask
them. Traveling cloaked at warp is difficult, since the tractor beams must
be engaged, which prevents complete concealment. Due to advanced technology,
the WISCRS have the ability to continue to transmit data to the Halifax
during cloak at impulse, and low warp speeds. Although they sensors aren't
as clear during cloak as the main sensor beam would be, it still provides
better imaging than the secondary sensor array.
The WISCRS transmit data to the starship by sending out tiny bursts of data
instead of a constant stream to the Halifax's sensors, instead of its
communication system.
A small antimatter charge installed in the WISCRS will prevent it from being
captured and analyzed. The charge can be set to detonate by coded signal, at
a preset time, or when a certain event occurs.

All in all, the USS Halifax will prove herself in time to be one of the more
powerful and valuable ships in the fleet. Even though the Halifax has its
drawbacks, it still is powerful, branishing some of the most state of the art
equipment, software, and technology.

Background

The only child of a human mother, who died when Lee was 10, and a Trill
father, who died when Lee was 16. Her father was a dignitary who met her
mother off world. They decided that the Trill homeworld offered a more stable
environment to raise a child than Earth did, and so there she grew up leading
a very sheltered life. The death of her parents shook her deeply.

She fought very hard to become joined. Had it not been for her father's dying
wish, as well as his stature on Trill, she would have been refused.
Disapointed in the beaurocracy of her home, she sought to learn about other
worlds and cultures, not just in books.

Lee is now the mother of a pair of twins: Jason Simon and Ariella Argenteena.
She and Jason are up to a huge challenge these two little angels.

Starfleet Academy

She applied to Starfleet Academy as soon as she was joined, and was accepted.
She majored in medicine, with extensive courses in sociology. She minored in
Art, because her mother had been an artist. There Lee discovered the family
trait had been passed to her as well.

While she was there, she looked up some old records and discovered her
cousin, William Blake was attending the Academy as well. She looked him up
and since then, they have become very close.

Interests

Lee's favorite pasttime is swimming and the ancient art of Tae Kwon Do. She
loves being outdoors, but is willing to settle for a holodeck. Her favorite
place to swim is in natural water, such as a river, or ocean. Her only
drawback is that she is afraid of snakes. Actually, Grant is, and Lee has not
yet learned to control her symbiont's terror in this matter. Even after her
recent encounter with a deadly snake, she still fears them.

Symbiont History

Grant's first was a pilot, a woman named Jacyntha who lived until the age of
43, a life cut short by a shuttle crash. She managed to survive several hours
until resuce teams arrived in time to only save the symbiont. Luke Tearin,
Jacyntha's best friend, joined with Grant to return the symbiont safely to
Trill.

The second host, a man named Korth, had been a writer and a single father of
two. At 37, he died from the bite of a poisonous snake. He and his children
died on that campout. Lee discovered after horrible nightmares and extensive
research, that Korth's brother Gareth planted the snake to murder Korth and
steal the symbiont. Gareth has since passed away.

Lee is Grant's third official host.

Her Life

Lee's decision to take up medicine was the thought that these lives could
have been spared if medical attention had been readily available. She hopes
she can save someone the agony of experiencing what Jacyntha and Korth has.
This is her reason for joining Starfleet.

Life on the Hermes though rough at times was more than Lee ever expected from
Starfleet. She has pledged her loyalty to the crew, both as a friend and as
executive officer.

Dakota Quodlibet met and married Portia Kachina while pursuing graduate
studies at Starfleet. Rogue and Edenic were born after Quodlibet had made
promotion to First Lieutenant, after which time Portia developed cancer.
Portia Quodlibet died when Rogue and Edenic were four, and their aunt,
Astandra Kachina of Betazed served as their maternal figure. Rogue and Edenic
were raised on their father's ships until they were fourteen, when they were
sent to
the Quodlibet family estates in California so they could attend a "normal"
high school, Senoma Academy. Rogue pursued her love of flying anything and
everything in high school but was also involved in the arts. They entered
Starfleet Academy together at 18. Rogue pursued a wide variety of interests,
and continued with graduate study. She enjoys flying, photography, gardening,
art, sports and traveling, "even the old-fashioned way." She has also
pursued studies in the martial arts, especially t'ai chi.

Rogue's twin brother, Edenic, graduated at age 22, served on the USS
Enterprise-D, where he acheived high honors for his work. Shortly before a
posting to the USS Voyager, he took honorable discharge <<Starfleet
Classified * Bravo level clearance >> from Starfleet. Edenic was recently
re-instated to Starfleet and is currently assigned as Assistant Security
aboard the USS Federation. After serving several months on board
the Federation, he was accepted into the Starfleet Rangers and is currently
completing training.

During graduate study, Rogue was roommates at the Academy with Sydney
T'Nemelt (FstLt, retired), who has recently accepted a teaching position with
the Sumarian Sciences Academy after retiring from duty on the USS Hermes.

While the USS Lothlorien was stationed near Starbase 7 close to the Neutral
Zone for the Romulan Accords (SD9608-9609), Rogue was called into action by
Starfleet Intelligence. ** Starfleet Classified, Level VI security clearance
only ** She was called into duty again SD9610.10 aboard the USS Nightingale,
and, after that assignment was complete, was transferred to the USS
Federation as Chief Medical Officer.

She was transferred back into the Security department as Chief Security
Officer on SD9701.26 and continued to serve in that capacity until SD9708.17,
when she married Captain David Chid in a ceremony at Quodlibet Estates on
Earth.

While on leave from her teaching duties at Starfleet Academy to visit her
husband aboard his ship, the Hermes was engaged in battle against the

Personal History:

The eldest of the Andrews' five children, Jessa Jean is an extremely
bright and outgoing young lady. Both a tomboy because the majority of her
childhood playmates were male, and the mothering type due to her positioning
in her family; she has an ability to adapt quickly and well to most
situations and an instinctive empathy for the needs and desires of others.
She also has a merry temperament that allows her to make friends easily. The
downside of her youthful, humor-filled approach to life is that she is often
quickly dismissed as being too carefree and frivolous to have much to offer
in 'serious' situations. As those who know her best would be quick to tell
you, anyone that dismisses her thusly is missing out.
She entered the Academy two years early and attended an accelerated
program in medicine after her regular Academy classes at her father's
instigation. While in school, she was both an avid field hockey player and a
long distance runner. She lettered in both sports and was also a member of
the theatrical guild; where her creativity found an outlet both on stage as a
performer and off in costuming and makeup. As one might suppose, she was a
popular young lady but, surprisingly, made few close friendships during her
time in the Academy. The majority of her true friends are family members, the
most notable exceptions being her lifelong friends and neighbors Aaron, Bo
and Bonnie Duster.
Although fully accredited as a physician, she is more drawn to active
pursuits and was delighted to be accepted as a security officer aboard the

Background

The only child of a human mother, who died when Lee was 10, and a Trill
father, who died when Lee was 16. Her father was a dignitary who met her
mother off world. They decided that the Trill homeworld offered a more
stable environment to raise a child than Earth did, and so there she grew up
leading a very sheltered life. The death of her parents shook her deeply.
She fought very hard to become joined. Had it not been for her father's
dying wish, as well as his stature on Trill, she would have been refused.
Disapointed in the beaurocracy of her home, she sought to learn about other
worlds and cultures, not just in books.
Lee is now the mother of a pair of twins: Jason Simon and Ariella
Argenteena. She and Jason are up to a huge challenge these two little
angels.

Starfleet Academy

She applied to Starfleet Academy as soon as she was joined, and was
accepted. She majored in medicine, with extensive courses in sociology. She
minored in Art, because her mother had been an artist. There Lee discovered
the family trait had been passed to her as well.
While she was there, she looked up some old records and discovered her
cousin, William Blake was attending the Academy as well. She looked him up
and since then, they have become very close.

Interests

Lee's favorite pasttime is swimming and the ancient art of Tae Kwon Do.
She loves being outdoors, but is willing to settle for a holodeck. Her
favorite place to swim is in natural water, such as a river, or ocean. Her
only drawback is that she is afraid of snakes. Actually, Grant is, and Lee
has not yet learned to control her symbiont's terror in this matter. Even
after her recent encounter with a deadly snake, she still fears them.

Symbiont History

Grant's first was a pilot, a woman named Jacyntha who lived until the
age of 43, a life cut short by a shuttle crash. She managed to survive
several hours until resuce teams arrived in time to only save the symbiont.
Luke Tearin, Jacyntha's best friend, joined with Grant to return the symbiont
safely to Trill.
The second host, a man named Korth, had been a writer and a single
father of two. At 37, he died from the bite of a poisonous snake. He and
his children died on that campout. Lee discovered after horrible nightmares
and extensive research, that Korth's brother Gareth planted the snake to
murder Korth and steal the symbiont. Gareth has since passed away.
Lee is Grant's third official host.

Her Life

Lee's decision to take up medicine was the thought that these lives
could have been spared if medical attention had been readily available. She
hopes she can save someone the agony of experiencing what Jacyntha and Korth
has. This is her reason for joining Starfleet.

Life on the Hermes though rough at times was more than Lee ever expected
from Starfleet. She has pledged her loyalty to the crew, both as a friend
and as executive officer.

earth. She was raised on her father's starships and at her parents' farmhouse

Madison pursued a wide variety of interests throughout her schooling. She
enjoys flying, photography, cards, gardening, art, and sports. She has also
pursued extensive studies in the martial arts, especially t'ai chi and dagger

After hacking into the wrong files at the right time (namely, a very

Ensign Jack P. Ryan. Madison made her mark at Tactical, as well as her
continued hacking expertise.

Madison had a short medical leave from the SOG in late winter of '97, and
when she returned, she was once again partnered with JP Ryan and posted to
the Beta team. Ltjg. Ryan was killed SD9706 in a shuttle accident. Her best
friend in the group was Tamara Baker, until Tamara was killed in a holodeck
accident, also SD9706.

Although they originally had a rocky beginning when they first met,

partnership with Randall C. Striker. The duo had several adventures that
brought them closer together including their abduction by and prisoners to

Note: Storm Jason G was recoveried by Cmdr Chid on stardate 9703.18. Storm
was found in a damaged shuttle of alien make and was barely alive. After an
extensive debriefing once he was released from sickbay and cleared by the
ship counsoler it was then determined that Ltn Storm was abducted by an
unknown alien race and put through an extensive and grueling battery of
tests. It is not known wether or not Storm will fully recover from these.

MEDICAL HISTORY

Lieutenant Commander Teena has the physiological characteristics of her
Klingon ancestry. A raised skull cap that has small ridges across her
forehead, although they are slight due to her mixed heritage. All bodily
functions are protected by a redundant organ or system, referred to as
the Klingon, "Brak'lul." A back up synaptic system, the neck is
protected with a second bone that helps protect the spinal column. She
has four extra ribs, two on the left & two on the right that protect her
three lungs. Two larger lungs & one smaller lung in between that powers
her breathing. She has an eight chambered heart, four kidneys & two
livers. Her blood is lavender in color. All of the above are
characteristic of the Klingon anatomy.

PRE-ACADEMY BACKGROUND

Raised by her Klingon mother & Bajoran Father, Alpherion, on Bajor. They were
divorced when Teena was eight, she continued to reside on Bajor until the age
of fourteen. She moved to Q'onos and lived with her Klingon mother and her
family. Married at an early age to Chalok [of the house of MoTak']. After
graduating from Starfleet Teena took some time off and had one child, a son,
Ronny.

STARFLEET TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Recieved a BA in Biology- Med school in San Francisco at Starfleet. Excelled
in Molecular Biology & Emergency Room Procedure. Studied under Dr. Toby
Russell with Genetronic Replicators.(The Genetronic Replicator is still in
the experimental stage), Starfleet has not authorized use of the device on
humanoids. She completed her internship on Delos IV under the tutelage of

success. This has revolutionalized the area of retroviral infections and
opened the doors for addtional experimental research into the field of DNA
sequencing
and genetic engineering.

Additional Breakthroughs In DNA Engineering:

In the laboratories of The Hermes Sickbay, Dr. Teena, Dr. Grant & a team
of medical technicians developed a new procedure, involving DNA
modifications by sending new genetic instructions by way of unaltered
genes to affected genes successfully.This new procedure will be

RawIChalok. She was abducted at birth by Lydia, an enemy of Teena's who has
been plaguing her for over a year. On Stardate: 9802.03, the child was
rescued by her father, RawIChalok and returned to her mother. They named the
child, Victoria Katherine,
and she is at present, living with both parents on the Nightengale. Their
oldest child, Ronny, is attending a boarding school on Qo'nos.

Background

The only child of a human mother, who died when Lee was 10, and a Trill
father, who died when Lee was 16. Her father was a dignitary who met her
mother off world. They decided that the Trill homeworld offered a more
stable environment to raise a child than Earth did, and so there she grew up
leading a very sheltered life. The death of her parents shook her deeply.
She fought very hard to become joined. Had it not been for her father's
dying wish, as well as his stature on Trill, she would have been refused.
Disapointed in the beaurocracy of her home, she sought to learn about other
worlds and cultures, not just in books.
Lee is now the mother of a pair of twins: Jason Simon and Ariella
Argenteena. She and Jason are up to a huge challenge these two little
angels.

Starfleet Academy

She applied to Starfleet Academy as soon as she was joined, and was
accepted. She majored in medicine, with extensive courses in sociology. She
minored in Art, because her mother had been an artist. There Lee discovered
the family trait had been passed to her as well.
While she was there, she looked up some old records and discovered her
cousin, William Blake was attending the Academy as well. She looked him up
and since then, they have become very close.

Interests

Lee's favorite pasttime is swimming and the ancient art of Tae Kwon Do.
She loves being outdoors, but is willing to settle for a holodeck. Her
favorite place to swim is in natural water, such as a river, or ocean. Her
only drawback is that she is afraid of snakes. Actually, Grant is, and Lee
has not yet learned to control her symbiont's terror in this matter. Even
after her recent encounter with a deadly snake, she still fears them.

Symbiont History

Grant's first was a pilot, a woman named Jacyntha who lived until the
age of 43, a life cut short by a shuttle crash. She managed to survive
several hours until resuce teams arrived in time to only save the symbiont.
Luke Tearin, Jacyntha's best friend, joined with Grant to return the symbiont
safely to Trill.
The second host, a man named Korth, had been a writer and a single
father of two. At 37, he died from the bite of a poisonous snake. He and
his children died on that campout. Lee discovered after horrible nightmares
and extensive research, that Korth's brother Gareth planted the snake to
murder Korth and steal the symbiont. Gareth has since passed away.
Lee is Grant's third official host.

Her Life

Lee's decision to take up medicine was the thought that these lives
could have been spared if medical attention had been readily available. She
hopes she can save someone the agony of experiencing what Jacyntha and Korth
has. This is her reason for joining Starfleet.

Life on the Hermes though rough at times was more than Lee ever expected
from Starfleet. She has pledged her loyalty to the crew, both as a friend
and as captain.

Reactivation Conditions:
On SD-97122.9 a transdimentional fissure was opened by said individual
terminating on our particular reality. After the "alleged" TDJ the
individual presented himself to the Captain of the Medical ship USS
Nightingale as one Dr. Carlos Juan Flama-Candente, upon retinal scan and
didactical identification and visual records of the deseased Lt(jg) Flama
were verified it was taken at face value that this man had infact jumped
from his own reality
to our own. His ship was destroyed by Unknown causes thus the
transdimentional transporter was lost. For the time being Dr. Flama was
assigned to the Nightingale and is serving as a "regular" crewmember until
such time as Starfleet inteligence deems that his interaction with this crew
is harmful or detrimental to the safety of said crew. No incidents have been
recorded as of the moment of this report of any wrong doings of Dr. Flama
infact he has
been extremly helpful and cooperative and also capable of maintaining his
current rank and position on said starfleet vessel. Upon questioning and at
request of the StarFleet Personel Office he has submited his biographical

After graduating he met and married and both he and his wife served on
different ships and space stations, while serving on the border wars his wife
was Posted to the ISS William Scott Key under the command of his brother
Captain Eustaqio Flama who under obscure circumstances reported that His
Sister in Law was "Killed" by enemy Fire, under investigation it was found
out that after repeated advances from Captain Flama, Ms.
Pavlor was murdered by Captain Flama. He was killed when the ISS Willam
Scott Key was destroyed by a subspace anomally... he was never brought to
trial for his crimes, all charges were dropped and the case was closed.

Dr. C.J. Flama was transfered to the capital city to take over the
research facility as directed by the Emperor... also to protect him from
family members of his late wife that had a blood oath to Kill him. After 2
years and countless breakthroughs in medical research Dr. Flama petitioned
for service duty onboard starships...

Lt(jg) Flama was posted to the ISS Repulse were he served as Assistant
Medical Officer and later Acting Chief Medical Officer when the CMO of that
vessel was kidnapped and later murdered by Rebels. During a dispute between
Lt(jg) Flama and Cmdr William Gother (XO of the Repulse) a phaser shot was
fired and Captain Robert Donovan was Killed... Flama was charged with the
Murder and before he was apprehended he stole a Runabout
and disappeard.

Its the consensus of this Investigator to maintain close information
transfer of this Individual for the time period required to evaluate and
decern the true intentions of Dr. Flama in our Universe. This determination
comes out of past experiences with Individuals "transporting" into Our
Reality.

**** Dr. Flama was appointed Assistant Chief Medical Officer and for a brief
time was Acting Chief Medical Officer.

**** He Contacted Commander Thomas Lngley of Starfleet security for an
unknown matter we are not sure if he did ever meet with Commander Langley
but his mangled body was found in the Academy recycling center, Dr. Flama is
under investigation for this murder.

**** Physical traits on Dr. Flama have changed... his Black eyes are now Gray
due to unkown reasons. An investigation is underway with the medical crew of
the USS Nightingale for verification of an un-orthodox procedure used on Dr.
Flama to repair a cerebral leasion.

Not much is known about the person known Commonly as .. the man without
a face. He is a known assasin for hire... but has never been apprehended...
he seems to vanish into thin air from the most tightest of security nooses...

A description has never really been established either... his face has
never been seen... at least his "real" face. the only clear and hard
evidence is that his ship is a design very similar to the Galactic Sovereing
Class Starship of the Empire. were he stole this powerful ship it is not
known.

He is directly linked with over 5000 assasinations in the last 400 years
in the 3 known quadrants his methods have been documented and are part of the

Anaximander-class
The Anaximander-class is a science vessel designed for long-range
assignments, it can go several months between docks. It has a long, sleek
look to it, to add to the speed capability. Another speed contributor is the
modified-Targanide warp drive assembly. The normal rectangular geometry has
been refitted to be triangular design. It is one of the fastest ships in the
fleet.

One unique fact about this starship, the USS Hermes-C, is that it was the
last starship designed, and constructed at Starbase Everest before the
conversion (and destruction) of Everest R&D and the USF Bureau of Research
and Developement.

The Anaximander-class is landing capable, with the landing struts located on
Deck 26.

The Security/Tactical Department on Deck 10 contains an office for the both
department chiefs, and a tactical training simulator. The Science department
is located on Decks 11 and 12 which have a dual deck design. The forward is
Stellar Cartography, equipped with advanced imagery systems. Aft is 2 levels,
one per deck, which include the chief's office, as well as six science labs.

Sickbay on Deck 7 contains Main Sickbay, Medlabs, CMO/ACMO offices, ICU,
Examination Rooms, 3 Surgical rooms, Obs/gyn room, Doctor's conference room,
and doctors lounge (consists of two beds and replicator for extended shifts).

Finally, the decks which Engineering is located on (Decks 20 - 26) are split
level, with smaller lifts from each level throughout Engineering

Atmospheric thrusters
During the refit of the USS Hermes, atmospheric thrusters and retractable
landing supports were added to the ship's design allowing her to have
planetary surface landing capability.

WISCRS
WISCRS (Wandering Intensified Stellar Cartography Research Sensors) are a
network of miniature probes that travel along side the Hermes. Each probe is
warp capable, have a linked navigational computer with the helm console on
the bridge, allowing the WISCRS to travel with the Hermes wherever it goes.

The WISCRS have the ability to travel at much higher warp speeds using
several miniature tractor beams holding them within the warp field during
warp. During this time, the sensors are deactivated to conserve energy. When
the Hermes drops out of warp, the tractor beams disengage, and they are aloud
to "wander", within a certain radius. Computerized sensors and linkage
systems prevent the WISCRS from leaving this radius.

The WISCRS use basically the same sensory systems as probes. All data
received from the probes are transmitted to Deck 23, where it is compiled,
recorded. The data is then transferred to the science consoles on the bridge,
and is also accessible from Tactical, Helm, and Operations.

Upon the activation of the cloak, the WISCRS automatically travel to a safe
position close to the hull where the cloaking field will effectivelly mask
them. Due to advanced technology, the WISCRS have the ability to continue to
transmit data to the Hermes during cloak. Although they sensors aren't as
clear during cloak as the main sensor beam would be, it still provides better
imaging than the secondary sensor array.

The WISCRS transmit data to the starship by sending out tiny bursts of data
instead of a constant stream to the Hermes's sensors, instead of its
communication system.

A small antimatter charge installed in the WISCRS will prevent it from being
captured. They can be set off from a distance at random, or when a certain
event occurs.

 
Phaser Panels
The phaser panel is a modified hull plate, made up of an 8m x 8m crystal
similar to the ones used in segmented phasers, which is put in place of the
original hull plate.

Targanide crystals (being used for the warp drive), were discovered to have
the ability to absorb and release large amounts of energy faster, and, with
the aid of Federation technology, can also contain the energy longer. They
also distribute energy faster than LiCu518 (crystal used in normal phasers).

Using a tied in system with the targeting system and 150 small power
distribution nodes, the panel has the ability to fire from every point on the
panel, and on any angle. The distribution nodes are located on the back of
the crystal panel, and determine the best location for the beam to be emitted
from, depending on the target. It also controls the length, width, and
strength of the phaser emitted from that location. They are composed of
combined-crystal sonodanite, detorquium, kenafayt, and the same paranygen
animide for structural surface protection.

The control pad on the tactical panel on the bridge would allow the user to
quickly select the length, power, and strength of the beam. If the situation
arises, the panel can be modified to fire a .75 second burst from the entire
panel (an 8m x 8m beam), called a phaser burst. The downside is it will burn
out the distribution nodes. The upside is the phaser panel is much easier to
repair, since it is comprised of only one piece of crystal, instead of
many segments, and the distribution nodes would have an auto repair program
in place.

Activation/Fire Process
Upon receiving the command to fire, the EPS submaster flow regulator manages
the energetic plasma powering the phaser panel, through the distribution
nodes. Distribution response is time is 0.0075, an improvement of 0.0025. The
magnetic switching gates were taken away because having a switching gate
coordinating with the fire control for each of the distribution nodes would
be too power costly.

Targanide Warp Drive
The Targanide Warp Coil Assembly uses only two coils instead of the standard
multiple coils. The assembly uses two elliptical coils (port and starboard)
set in a figure eight pattern with a gap of 3.27 meters between them. This
gap is necessary for the correct formation of the warp field. Because this
assembly uses only two coils the overall mass of the drive is reduces by
approximately 68%.

The warp field created by the coils is 52% more compact then the standard
field. This field increases the structural integrity of the ship by 30%. This
will reduce the need of SIF generators being on line during warp flight.
Another advantage is that this drive has a .23 second quicker acceleration
than standard drive. At warp 9 the energy efficiency of the drive is 93%.
While at warp speed the warp field has been shown to absorb sensor reading
thus
reducing the ships' sensor image by 48%.

Targanide Accelerator Core
This core is completely separate from the main warp core and has no contact
with the matter anti- matter streams. The Targanide Core is composed of a
solid mass of Targanide crystal with a series of injectors and distribution
nodes to control and redirect the plasma flow. The plasma stream is injected
directly into the core where it is amplified and distributed through out the
ship.

This core has two main functions:
1. When the main warp core is functioning and the Accelerator Core is fully
charged it will provide a 124% increase in energy output.
2. During main core shut down or when it is damaged, the fully charged
Accelerator Core will provide enough power to operate the Targanide drive at
warp 1 for 45 minutes or warp 2 for 15 minutes. It will also provide enough
power to operate all emergency ship system for an equal amount of time at
warp speed, or emergency systems for 3 hours at non-warp speeds.

Ablative Shielding
Hermes is equipped with the new impact-sensitive ablative shielding, recently
upgraded to improve system endurance. This system is comprised of 97 small
emitters placed over the outer hull which focus secondary energy at the point
of impact of a foreign object. When a hostile energy burst is detected
approaching an area of the hull, the emitters and sensor systems calculate
the point of impact and focus resistant energy in that location, effectively
increasing shield strength at that point by approximately 175% and reducing
the force of impact by nearly 64%. The system is able to handle up to 8
simultaneous hits for up to three minutes, after which the system has shown
to loose effectiveness in computer models. The system has shown to be only
partially effective against torpedo-type weapons, reducing the yield of these
weapons to approximately 78% of maximum.
