Captain's Duty Log SD 9612.15
Today we successfully ran training simulations in the holodeck for the Alpha
shift. They were the last shift to complete the training rotation. I was
there to personally oversee and partake in this shift's training exercises.
I probably could have gone unnoticed or simply just watched, but I chose to
participate. There are certain skills that I needed to refresh myself. It
has been forever since I touched the panels of Helm or OPS.
Lieutenant Commander Joval and a visiting trainer, Lieutenant Karral, ran the
training exercises. Joval and Karral did an excellent job in motivating the
crew. The reponses from the crew were very informative for me in gearing
future promotions for some. I can see the ingenuity in them, that is just
waiting to be expressed. I shall try to run training exercises every now and
then to keep the skills sharp and the ideas flowing.
There was a growing need to fill in assistant department heads on the ship.
There were many crew members granted promotions to an assistant deaprtment
head position. First Lieutenant Maarek was promoted to Assistant Chief
Engineer. He is also the Acting Chief Engineer since Sela was forced to
return home yet again. The newly promoted Lieutenant JAW was also promoted
to Assistant Chief Tactical Officer. Lieutenant (j.g.) Michlach was promoted
to Assistant Chief Medical Officer. Lieutenant Dar was
promoted to the Assistant Chief of Security. Dalinn needed to take an
extended shoreleave so Dar is filling in as the Chief of Security until
Dalinn returns in two weeks.
The Assistant Chief Science Officer still needs to be determined. There are
a couple of officers that are in that department. I will keep my eye out to
see who shines the most. Then I will decide who gets the position.
Due to the lack of a First Officer, I have promoted Lieutenant Commander
Joval to Second Officer/Acting XO. Lieutenant Commander Wingnt was promoted
to acting Second Officer so that I have a full command structure. I am
discussing with Starfleet on my recommendation for the First Officer of the
Federation. I am awaiting their decision.
The crew is officially granted shoreleave now. We will leave Earth's orbit
by the beginning of next week.

Intership Memo
Federation Crew,
All departments are to schedule down time for all personnel. Those that wish
to take their shoreleave on Earth must send a request to me, so that I am
aware of who is to be where.
The Federation will be in orbit of Earth until at least SD 9612.20.
Depending on our orders we might be leaving then, but no later than by SD
9612.22.
Every department should have a damage report and repair report on my desk
shortly. If you need any more support from Starfleet Command personnel on
Earth, hereby request it before you take your shoreleave. Any assistance
that your department needs to be ready for deaprture will be given to you.
That is all for now. Further orders for our next mission will be
forthcoming.

**Open log**
This weeks mission was a 3 part training exercise. Lt. Cmdr. Joval and
First Lt. Karral (Cheif of Security on the USS Hermes) led the exercises
under Capt. Ariell's direction. During part one, a duty station was given
out with a command and everyone was to respond as if they were covering that
duty station. The answers came fast and furious but it was fun as well as
educational. The second part of the exercise was a scored test in which we
were to give the answer as to which department would be
responsible for a specific operation. First Lt. Mike had the most correct
answers with Lt. JAW and First Lt. Maarek tied for 2nd. We were then, for
the 3rd part, able to pick a postion and we had a 15 minute simulation on the
holodeck.
Several people were promoted to assistant department heads this week.
First Lt. Maarek was promoted to Asst. Chief Engineer, newly promoted Lt. JAW
was promoted to Asst. Chief Tactical Officer, Lt.JG Michlach was promoted to
Asst. Chief Medical officer and Lt. Dar was promoted to Asst. Chief of
Security. Due to the lack of a First Officer Lt. Cmdr. Joval was promoted to

I entered engineering to find everything quite and clam as it should be. I
ran some normal ajustments and did a few diag's. All of which Turned out Fine
as I had expected them to come out. We had a minor Fluxuation in the Warp
injector manifold but it was fixed promtly. I decided to goto the bridge for
a little and then we started to have problems....so I ran back to
engineering..I can do more in engineering. I figured if we boosted the
Transpoter beam and ajusted the frequences we might be able to
beam the AT back succesfuly. Then we became Traped in a tractor beam of
sorts unfortunatly we lost weapons before we could fire to disable it. our
Power is being Drained the EPS Grid is just about bottomed out. The Beam is a
Proton beam which is draining energy So an Anti proton beam would Stuff the
beam and shut it down. I have come up with one other option we could switch
the polarities of the ships energy so that it wouldn't want or be able to
drain us...the only problem with that is it would take a
miracle to swith the polarities.

detected a small planet. I said that it could be a star in formation.
Although, now I believe my hypothesis was incorrect. Then we detected a
storm, but it subsided. I am incharge of an away team. We detected some
life forms, one of them kept on phasing in and out between matter and energy.
A jail surrounded us then our floor gave in, we fell down
a tunnel and landed in a room. The Drone has self distructed. We are going
to use it's energy source. We went into a room with a vault, it opened very

At first we detected nothing on our tricorders but there were signs of
colonization on the planet. We came to a locked door. When i reached for
the door bars closed all around us and we were trapped. We then fell down a
shaft into a large room in which we encountered a droid of some sort which
attacked us but we ended up victorious. In the end of
the battle seth was unconcious so Pike carried him. We then came to a room
which had nothing of importance except a small vault at the end of the room
which had a rather primitave lock. When opened the box contained a small
device, we are not sure what it is but we will find out soon enough.

We were doing a routine science mission at a type 47 nebula,
when we discovered a planet inside the nebula, we went inside
the nebula to investigate further. The nebula was undergoing a
series of ion storms which made it difficult to keep the
shields stable. Luckily the storms had subsided for the most
part when we arrived, the captain sent down an away team to
investigate some strange ruins on the planet.
The planet didn't appear to have any life on at first, but we
soon realized that there were hostile beings of some sort on
the planet. The beings seemed to be phasing through time;
sometimes they were there sometimes not. Things soon got worse
as the beings started attacking the away team, pretty soon the
away team started phasing through time also.
they came back into our time a few times but never when there
was a window in the storms to beam them up.
We scanned the planet some more to try to find the cause of
this, but we could find nothing.
A tractor beam from the planet then latched onto us and started
to drain the ship's energy, I tried to break free but the beam
was too strong. We were about to fire at the site of the
tractor beam but weapons failed. And we were left there with
shields almost down and another storm approaching.
Just then, the away team reappeared while a window was open and
we beamed them up.
they had some strange device with them, I hope it can stop a
star from exploding though, because a nearby star's about to go
supernova.

Today's mission was an odd one to say the least. It started out rather
boringly with me sitting down in security while we were approaching an
uncharted nebula near Federation space to do scientific studies. That didn't
involve much activity from Security.
Once there Science discovered what was euther a planet or a star in
formation. Well, we turned out to find both of them. First we found the
planet and sent down an away team which included myself, Pike, Dar, and was
lead by Mike. I might have forgotten somebody, I'm not sure.
We explored around for a bit an came upon a locked door and panel. While
Dar, Pike, and Mike were investigating it, I stood watch of the surrounding
area. After a bit, the tricorders started picking up lifesigns approaching
our area rapidly. I knew something was afoot before then via my spots. I've
learned to trust them in critical situations. The crew unfortunately hasn't.
That is to be expected seeing as I've only been here for a month or two.
Almost as the signals were on top of us, a panel gave way below us and
we plummeted a couple stories into a cavern. We all got to our feet and
started exploring a nearby hallway and we were detecting energy signals at
the end of the hall. We followed down and encountered a security drone. It
warned and threatrened us and then we opened fire. I got off a useless shot
and was hit by return fire and knocked unconscious. Due to that I have no
firthur information on the afforementioned event.

As I was tending to X and Seth, I got an emergency call to Science. Pike
was badly injured. I beamed him to sickbay. He was DOA.
However, I refused to lose him. I love blood, guts, and gore as much as
the next Klingon, but I put him in cryostasis. I have, I think, successfully
replaced parts of his aorta. I brought him out of stasis. So far, he's
alive and coherent. I believe he will survive.
When I held Pike's dead body, it provoked very...bizarre emotions.

COMPUTER RECORDING -
We managed to beam the entire Away Team back from the surface intact.
However, an alien device was also beamed aboard with them. The entire Science
Department, excluding myself, reported to the lab to investigate the device
under the Chief Science Officer, Lt Commander Wings, supervision.
The tractor beam still had the Federation in its grasp, continuing to drain
our power.
During this critical situation, we discovered that a nearby star was on the
verge of super-novae. Without sufficient power and still caught within the
beam, the Federation would either, suffer massive systems failure and plummet
into the planets atmosphere or be crushed by the blast waves of the stars
nova explosion.
Lt. Commander Wing ordered me to assume Science #1 to observe the ships
status within the beams hold. Through my analysis, I had discovered that the
beam was pure proton and that no means known to us could break us free. The
beam was impacting ALL of our systems. The sensors and scanners dropped
offline and I rerouted them through the auxilliary mains. Once the mains were
online I had observed brief energy surges at the source of the beam. I
estimated that the ship would enter the planets atmosphere
within 54.2 minutes. Commander Joval querried using phasers to disable the
beam at its source. However, I recommended against phaser use due to the
temporal distortions on the planets surface. Ensign Qualon1
agreed with my theory.
All ships systems were on the verge of failure and the star was 35 minutes to
novae.
My sensors were reading waves of temporal displacement moving across the
planets surface.
I recommended that we launch a shuttle into the beam and detonate its warp
core to disrupt the beam. However, my recommendation was dismissed.
My scanners detected another energy wave on the planets surface.
The Captain asked for my recommendation and I repeated the shuttle warp
breech. Ensign Qualon 1 recommended a photon torpedoe blast to disrupt the
beam and the Captain accepted and ordered that proposal be initiated.
The beam stregnth rose again and energy disbursement is fired from the
surface.
Explosions and burnt optical cables flew from my console. I immediately
switched to Science #2. We had suffered a hull breech on Deck 10 and were
loosing internal power. I manged to reroute the internal circuits through the
auxilliary mains to stabilize.
The beam now begins to pulse. We are struck again by heavy displacement. All
systems were impacted and damged. However, warp systems seemed to be
unaffected and actually rose in stregnth.
Sensors went offline and I rerouted them through the lateral power grid.
Hull stress was now at Critical Mass - I read multiple hull fractures and
intitiated emrgency containment fields activated.
When I checked Science #2 a pattern was detected within the pulses. They
occured at 2.7 minute intervals.
Lt. Jaw and Ensign Qualon were programming the torpedoe, so I assumed both
tac and science stations without proper orders. However, due to the
situation, I hope that this indiscretion will be overlooking by Captain
Ariell.
Somehow, the beam just stopped and the Federation was free. There was so much
confusion, I do not know if the torpedoe was fired or if the beam just ceased
but we were free.
However, with a maximum warp of factor 3, we attempted to flee before the
shockwaves of the nova would impact the ship. I detected an energy wave of
9.0 approaching from aft. I rerouted shields to lessen the waves impact,
however the wave hit us full force. I was tossed from my station and I
observed the Captain too was sent to the floor. I resumed my station,
gripping the console with ALL of my stregnth. The second wave was now
approaching. I announced, " 3 seconds to impact ! "
The impact created massive hull breeches and a third wave was now
approaching.
Lt. Maarek manages to punch the warp factor up to six and we barely escaped
the impact of the final shockwave. One that probably would have destroyed the
ship.

a mission that would have made my blood curdle, if I had any. So close to
possible destruction, relying on each other to maintain cool heads and carry
out our duties for the good of the ship and our lives.
In the Great Link there is no such experiences. There is comfort, yet no
challenge.
Existance without purpose.
At least here, aboard the Federation, I have purpose. My life has meaning
here and people seem to care about me. However, I still cannot shake this
sense of oddity. As if the solids look upon me like they would a circus
clown. To mock and laugh behind my back. I do not speak of my crewmates, they
have been superb. It is the Bureaucrats I speak of. The PuppetMasters, if you
will.
My dreams of Michael McRoberts still haunt my mind. Visions of his death and
my part in it all makes the guilt that much greater. The insurmountable
plague upon my mind, the loss of my only love. Can I make a difference here ?
Can I repair the damage I have caused ? Can I heal my wounds ?
I might have been slightly overconcerned about my posting in my previous

We had a practice in which the Borg attacked us. Ensign Gramling and I
prepped sickbay as well as we could. Wing ordered me to take an away team
into the Borg cube and knock out it's power source. I chose X and JAW. The
three of us boarded a shuttlecraft adn beamed directly inside. I have never
experienced such a sight as that.
While inside, we made our way to what appeared to be a secondary power
source. X watched for Borg while JAW and I attempted to systematiclly tear
the circuits apart. One Borg came too close for our comfort and we opened
fire. X held them off while JAW and I made a disaster of the primary source.
Thankfully, I always carry a kut'luch dagger to make jobs like this easier.
The Borg began a self destruct sequence and we were beamed back to the ship
PDQ.
I managed my way to sickbay to assist Gramling. By now, the Borg began
assimilating the ship. Gramling had initiated the EMH program (which still
looks like Seth) to assist him. We fought off the Borg in sickbay until the
exercise ended.

Well we had a holodeck Simulation where I got to Play the Role of the
Borg King or such the Head Borg. Which was Quite interesting on my Part ...
When We Began I followed Normal borg tactics Lock a Tractor beam onto
the Ship and Drain the shields From that Engaging Cutter Lasers to Penatrate
the ships hull. After the Shields of the Fed were Low enough I then Beamed
over a Borg AT to Try and Take over the ship while Gaining in Borg

I was Succesful in Taking Engineering....I am Glad this was only a

Set up a Small Collective their For when they would Destroy the Cube... which
was inevitable.
Mean while the Fed Had an AT Beam over and Try to Disable this Tactor

Threat Response and WE the Borg went after them but not before they completed
their misson.
I was if you'd like to say that was on the Borg Cube for the Majority of

I reported for duty late so everything was a little weird. They were
having simulations against the Borg in the Holodecks. Dar was late too so
Wingt told us to get our little Secrity butts up and runnin. We headed to
the Jeffries Tubes around enginnering and waited for the Borg there. Dar
went to the ones on the other side and I stayed there and set my phaser to a
modulating spread and checked the dagger in my boot to make sure my dagger
was there.
The Borg finally came and I fired on them then they adapted and I got mad
and stuck my dagger into its head. It got a little stuck but finally pulled
out but not before I got something sharp stuck in my shoulder. I pulled out
my inner sleeve and stopped the bleedig but it still hurt like hell. Then
Dar was surrounded and I killeded the rest of the Borg there so I went over
to him. They were in Sickbay so I sent Dar up there and I tried to get rid
of them in that JT. Then...

We were two minutes from the scheduled Nebula encounter. Due to lack of
officers on duty, I was given Acting Science Officer status and ordered to
man Science Station 1. I ran the routine diagnostics and all systems were
nominal.
Upon our arrival at the Nebula, I was ordered to run standard sweeps of
the Nebula. According to the readings there seemed to be a planet at the
heart of the Nebula. Unable to classify, due to the static discharge of the
Nebula, Captain Ariell ordered us in for a closer look.
Once in range is was able to determine the planet to be Class M. I was
also reading a strange enrgy reading on the planets surface. Unable to
verify, I continued with my sweeps and found the ruins of an ancient city.
This enrgy seemed to fade in and out around the ruins. The readings were a
combination of Lifeform, Energy and Temporal. Nothing in my training or
experience had prepared me for this. I notified Captain Ariell and she
ordered me to keep an eye on it. Which I did, diligently scanning
and rescanning to get a precise reading.
The Captain ordered an A.T. to the surface to investigate and I was
ordered to keep a tight fix on them, which I did. They reached the surface
with no problem and then the Energy returned. I lost contact with the AT
signal and life readings. All surface readings were blank except for the
Temporal Energy.
I attempted to reestablish my sensor locks to no avail. The AT was lost
!
Another energy field was launched from the ruins on the planets at the
Federation. A Proton beam seized the ship and began to drain power. I
Recycled
the sensors and was able to pinpoint the exact location. I recommended we
launch a resonance burst from the deflectors, but the Captain ignored my
suggestion. The beam continued to drain our power and I had to reroute
sensors through the transporter arrays which had been unhampered as of yet. I
determined the intervals at which the Temporal field appeared. In1.7 minutes
the next phase would occurr. I informed the Captain and she ordered me to
lock onto the AT as soon as possible.
Our sheilds were dangerously low, power grids were popping on and offline.
The temporal energy appeared, I was able to lock onto the AT an I
brought them in, as per Captain Ariells orders....

The Federation is in for repairs from the beating we took while trying to
escape the tractor beam and the super nova on our last mission. The Fed will
also be getting some renovations and new features as well. While the ship is
in for repairs we ran a holodeck simulation against the Borg. One of our
crew members Lt. Mike played the part of the Borg very well, to the point of
bording our ship and assimilating everyone in engineering. An away team was
sent over to the Borg to look for and destroy
their energy source and ran into trouble and were eventually beamed out.
Our apt science department led by Lt. Pike was able to overcome in the end
and save the Federation by developing a substance to knock out the Borg and
take back engineering.
Also in response to the invitation from the bride's maid Capt. Ariell,
this week several of our crewmembers beamed over to the Hermes for Cmdr. Beth
and Capt. Semino's wedding.

Well today we were doing simulations in the holodeck. I came late due
to personal matters i had to attend. I discussed this with the captain and
she told me that the training in the holodeck was voluntary but it was
appreciated if it was attended. Dalinn was late too.
Dalinn and I were sent to engineering to kick some borg butt. We got
there through the jefferies tubes. After our phasers became useless because
the borg adapted we had to use our trusty knifes to get rid of the borg, and
they were extremely effective when you knew how to use them.
I was then needed in Sickbay where the borg were breaking in. I got
there VIA jefferies tubes and then eliminated the borg threat in sickbay.
Then the simulation ended.

Today we had a holodeck mission where we were fighting off a borg
attack. I thought it would be great to train without the fear of death or
assimillation. I asked and was able to get assigned to the science lab to
analyze any captured borg technology. I loved being able to explore new
technology and have always been fascinated as a scientist with the borg and I
loved rummaging through there technology. It also gave me a couple of great
ideas like adding a randomizer capability to our phasers to
avoid borg shield adaptions. The thing that bothered me was my inability to
feel the holographic borg usually in alien encounters I focus on them to fuel
my anger but I couldn't feel them which was terribly frustarting. But I was
glad I didn't grab a phaser and run out like a maniac and shoot everyborg
which is what I wanted to do I controlled my anger and knew anything I
learned would help the ship.

technology.
I was able to examine one borg and It was a fascinating experience. I
learned how they intergrated flesh to machine and how they were able to
communicate via a collective. Than when the Mission was over I ponedered on
how to fix the shield adaption problem and thought perhaps a randomiser chip
could be installed to constantly shift phaser frequencies constantly

peculiar. So, I contined with Seth to see his.
Apparently, he was not happy that his "stuff" was in storage. A senior
officer meeting was called, Seth ran off and I decided to see the new
sickbay. Gramling was already in there and he gave me a hypo to get rid of
this infernal itching. ::Begins to scratch at her nose:: I continued to

Reboard the Federation After the upgrades had been completed. I Went and
Gathered my things and boarded the Fed Via the Docking Coller And Stoped mid
way to admire the ship.
I then went to Deck 8a where our quarters are located that is mine and
Dalinn's. I unpacked and looked around before Dalinn came over I wanted
everything to be perfect.
After I had Finished that I Went to the New Engineering which now is a
Total of 3 Decks 35-37. I am Very happy that Engineering is So Large and that
it seem to be one of the most advanced Engineerings in the Fleet<<IT IS TO
ME>> also we now have upgraded the Ships memory and we now use BioNeural Gel
Packs. I am Still getting antiquated with the new systems but it is not that
new.
Shortly after my Brief tour a Meeting was Called in Ten Forward. I
arrived not too late but was one of the stragalers. I listened and watched as
Ariell Spoke of what is upcoming and about the NEW Arboretum. I am pleased to
say I will be helping in the construction of it.
I have Been Going threw the Ship Making Sure Everything is

Been looking over Sick bay and Stellar Cart. Namely Because Sick bay is one
of the Ships Vital Areas Stellar Cart. Because it is Bran new. Also I have
been looking over the Bridge's Stations Which all are in Top Working order...
Also the Design has change on the Helm and Ops Consoles I think the whole

Captain's log SD 9612.22
We have left Earth's orbit to map a nebula on the outskirts of Federation
space. During the process of mapping the nebula a planet was picke dup on
the ship's sensors. Lieutenant Commander Wing remained on Earth so our
newest Ensign, Roberts was in charge of the science department. He did a
fine job under the pressure that he was subjected to.
Roberts, JAW and Mike all found different things on the sensors concerning
the planet. They detected a storm in the atmosphere of the planet, but it
was able to sustain humanoid life. Some ancient ruins of some sort were also
detected.
I gave Joval the Bridge at the beginning of the mission, so that I could
retreat to the ready room to review some transmissions on the current Maqui
situation. When I returned to the Bridge the investigations were already
begining and Joval had ordered for an away team. Mike was chosen to lead the
away team that consisted of security officers and himself.
We are unsure of exactly what was happening on the planet because we lost
contact with them shortly after they beamed to the sureface. A beam that was
determined to have come from the planet has latched ont our ship and we are
attempting to break free.
The Federation's fine officers have discovered that a cycle is involved in
this whole situation. We are timing the cycle right now to lock ono the away
team to get them back. When the AT gets onboard we are hoping to have more
answers.

I am currently onboard the USS Hermes in the temporary guest quarters
provided to me and my crew. Those that wished to have followed me to the
Hermes to attend the wedding of Fleet Captain Semino and Commander Bethany
Duncan.
Both officers were previously stationed on the USS Federation. I do believe
that the Federation was even their first posts after graduation. It was
annmounced that Fleet Captain Semino was leaving the Hermes to take on a
position at the academy, teaching the future sciece officers.
It was an enjoyable time by all that attended. I ran into Fleet Captain
Tnagra at the wedding as well, he was Semino's best man. When I talked with
my former Commanding Officer, I found out that he was retiring back to his
home planet of Tama. He has been offered a position there, that he has
accepted.
I was Beth's, maid of honor, an honor which I was ever so happy to fulfill,
but more on that in my personal logs.
I will be returning, wih the crew that came with me, to the shipyards where
our ship, the USS Federation is being refitted. We have temporary quarters
at the shipyards so that the crews can work freely throughout the ship. I am
anxious to see what they do to the Federation. I have a meeting scheduled

Captain's Log SD 9701.12
We were allowed to reboard the USS Federation today. She has finished being
refitted, with newer and more improved capabilities. I was furnished with
the partial schematics of the refits. I have requested the complete
schematics to be delivered to me as soon as possible.
Engineering remains intact, but the computer core has been upgraded. The
M-13 Duotronics computer system that we used to have has been replaced with a
M-14 Bioneural system. I have been informed that this computer system is
comparable to that of the USS Voyager, that was lost in the line of duty,
except that this system is even more advanced than theirs was. There have
been modifications to make the bioneural gel pack system even more efficient
in starships. The gel packs will hold more information
than our old system. Even with everything uploaded from our previous
missions, we have plenty of space to record our up and coming missions.
I had a few discussions with Command about our saucer warp systems. They
sorely advised against keeping them. It seems that many flaws have been
found in that system. At this time, I didn't want to stay in spacedock long
enough to have those types of modifications made. Different members of the
crew expressed complete disgust at losing the saucer warp drive. At this
time it will stay, but Command is pressuring heavily still. I might have to
give in shortly.
We did receive the space and modifications for Stellar Cartography. The
Science department seemed pleased with this. The Science department will
also be working on a project with Engineering and a few others to construct
an Arboretum on this ship. I have asked for a meeting of all those involved
shortly. We should know more about designs and such then.
It has become apparent that this ship needs a bit more discipline in the
ranks. The change of command has been rough on all of us, and things are
changing, but the fact remains that the crew is lacking in certain
principles. This became evident at tonight's meeting and the promotions that
followed. Hardly anyone remained silent, constant side comments and
conversations were going on. Also several crew members were late to the
meeting or didn't even show until way into the meeting and promotions. I
realize that I am also stressed, but this kind of behavior needs to end. I
shall see what I can do to try to show that silence needs to be maintained.
It will be a hard thing to do because I am not a dictator, nor do I wish to
be seen as such.
I have received a communique from Starfleet. We will be leaving this part of
space shortly.

::Lieutenant Charles at OPS breaks Ariel's concentration:: Captain, there is
an incoming transmission from Starfleet Command.
Onscreen Lieuteannt.
Sir it is marked priroty gold, for your eyes only.
::Ariell nods:: Patch it through to my ready room on a secure channel.
::Ariell walks towards her ready room. She sits behind her desk::
Computer decode message authrization Ariell 5 Thomas 4.
>::Admiral MCKenzie's face appears on her screen:: Good Evening Captain.
Good Evening Sir. What can I do for you?
>We have received reports from our sources on Romulus.
::Ariell sits back in her chair paying attention to every word::
>It seems that we have a problem. On SD 9612.09 the assassinations of
Proconsul Neral and Senator Qui'linn was reported to us by one of our
operatives.
::Ariell nods:: I trust that this information has been verified. ::She
can't believe that someone was actually able to get clsoe enough to assinate
anyone on Romulus::
>Yes. We received the verification a couple of days ago. We need you to
investigate into this matter. We believe that a little known, but growing,
Vulcan faction is responsible.
Have we heard anythign directly fromt he Romulans?
>No, they have not made any formal announcements as of this time. We are not
sure who they will suspect in this matter, but you and I both know that they
will suspect a Starfleet ploy first. We need to make sure that Starfleet is
not blamed for this one.
Aye sir. Do you have a plan in mind?
>You have a Lieutenant stationed on your vessel that will be of great
assistance to you. His name is Lieutenant Jertak Andarsis Weknar (Lt JAW) or
JAW as others call him. He is an expert in Romulan affairs and he was an
acquaintance of the Senator. I feel that he can assist in this
investigation. I have already sent him a message as well informing him of
the current situation.
::Ariell nods her approval:: Agreed sir. I shall get in touch with him. We
are at the shipyards right now, but we can finish our checks and be on our
way by 2030 hours SD 9701.18.
>Make it so Captain, and keep me informed of your progess. Starfleet is very
interested in the capture of this individual in charge of the Su'kurn
faction. Try to take him alive if possible. He needs to be tried for these
crimes. I have attached what we know about the Sukurn and Captain Sazk to a
separately crypted message. Remember that this is on a need to know basis.
Aye sir. ::Ariell downloads the file to be sure she has it. It pops on the
side of her screen as received::
::Admiral McKenzie nods:: Then you have your orders Captain. Starfleet out.
::Ariell sits back in her chair contemplting her next move. She knows that
she needs to talk to JAW, she also prepares memos to tactical and security::
That should take care of some of the preparations. ::Ariell sits back in her
chair contemplating things:: We will be ready for them.

Intership Memo
To: Security Department
Chief of Security Dalinn
We are preparing to leave the shipyards no later than 2030 on SD 9701.19.
There are a few things that I would like to have accomplished during our
upcoming missions. Certain things need to be accomplished before the
departure on Sunday.
The Science department has modified a previously used modification to the had
held phasers on the USS Enterprise. Lieutenant Commander Data came up with
the original schematics for a frequency changing chip to be installed into
the had held phasers for those species and security defenses that have
autmatic immunites after using a frequency. I wish to have these chips that
Ensign Taylor has made installed into half of our hand held phasers. He has
tested them, and I this modification passes my tests
for use, Please install these chips ASAP.
Secondly we are going to be heading into a mision of a security nature. I
need to make sure that your officers are properly trained. Please see to it
that the Combat Training Center is utilized for hand to hand combat training
and all other forms of weaponry and security tactics. All shifts shoudl be
training on their second rotational shifts except for those teams that are
training with the tactical department. Those training withthe tactical
department will be training on the thrid rotational
shift. Please set up these training sessions with your officers.
Please inform me if you are in need of any supplies for the security
department. I need to know that we are ready at a moments notice to move
into a dangerous situation. We will be moving into hostile terrority, and
they must be prepared.
Sincerely,
Captain Ariell Johannson-Riker

Well we moved into the new and improved USS Federation so to speak.
Basically today we got aquainted with the new ship and then met in Ten
Forward Lounge for a crew meeting. I seemed to be very hyperactive at the
meeting. I think someone added caffiene in my nachos. I asked for a hypo to
calm me down but i didn't get anything at all. From now on I'm gonna scan my
nachos for anything that hasn't been there before.

DUTY LOG: SD 9701.12
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The USS Federation is now refit and ready for duty. I requested
permission to use a shuttle to carry my experiments back to the ship. I was
granted permission. I loaded my equipment onto the new shuttlecraft SAGAN and
left the spacedock enroute to
our newly refurbished starship.
All went by the numbers and I performed a visual an informal inspection
of the ships hull. I observed the final touches of our registry and call
letters being painted on the hull . She is a fine ship.
I requested docking procedures and the Federation ordered me to setdown
in shuttlebay Alpha, and I did as ordered.
Once aboard, I was approached by the Officer of the Flight Deck, Lt
Rolands. He requested my security clearance and Starfleet I.D. and I
responded to both. He then requested if he could be of assistance.
I handed my personal effects over to Rolands for transfer to my
quarters. He obliged happily. I then requested use of the cargo transporters
for which I was granted and transported my experiments to Science Lab Five.
Commander Wing ordered me to oversee the transfer of shipboard
experiments from their temporary storage to their proper locations aboard
ship and I did so.
Captain Ariell held an Officers Meeting in Ten-Forward, of which I
attended. The Captain notified us of some systems modifications and
equipment.
During this meeting I was promoted from Ensign to Lt.jg.

Then...

I arrived on duty late again because of "family time." I took my station
and there was a new ensign working Security named Scott. We were being
fired on by some ships and there were two Grilk ships on either side of us. I
scanned the ship for any strange Security things and noticed some sort of
anomoly on Deck 28, either that or somebody was draining the pool.
Scott went to investigate, then Captain Ariell told me to head the away
team to the planet to find the terrorist. I was a little confused at first
since I was late but I eventually got down to Transporter Room three. I left
Dar in charge of Security and I know I'll make sure he's on the next away
team to give him a little excitement.
Sela came from engineering, JAW from Tactical, Scott to help me out, Kavar
from medical, and Rogue because she seemed pretty bored (besides you never
know, somebody could go crazy down there). <anybody else?> I was disappointd
Maarek wasn't on duty but then we hopped onto the transporter pads and beamed
down to the surface. The planet was nice except the weather was all cloudy
and dark. Sure brought back memories...
We scanned the planet and put our phasers on heavy stun. The encampment
seemed to be a half a mile away and we headed towards it.

BEGIN LOG ENTRY:
Now that the Federation has its hands on a Jem Hadar Warship, my duties have
become greatly varied. Due to this new aquisition, I was sent off-ship to the
Qualor Shipyards just outside Bajoran space. Starfleet wants a trained
professional to handle the ships refit and systems analysis. I have informed
Command that I have no interest in leaving my current post. If they wish, I
will oversee their progress via Private Communiques and progress reports.
Command agreed on one condition: That I visit the
shipyards and help jump-start the program. I agreed and have spent the past
four days organizing and implimenting the proposed program.
Now that the ship has been powered and refit has begun, I am enroute back to
the Federation to continue with my normal duties. Captain Ariell will surely
be upset at my lack of divulgience about this project. However, Command had
ordered my lips sealed until I returned. Then, I can inform ONLY my
commanding officer.
I understand all this cloak and dagger, but it is working my nerves raw.

Well our mission today was to capture Captain Sazk, a vulcan terrorist
which I have not seen many of. At the beginning of my duty i scanned the
security systems for any glitches of any sort that may have occured. A new
ensign came in and I assigned him to do some scans of the security system
just to briefly check to see if i didn't miss anything.
His name is Scooter. Ok so thats not his real name but its what i call
him. Dalinn came a bit late due to personal matters and sent scooter and I
to deck 28 to go check something out. Scooter ran although i insisted that
it was not a logical idea to run into something we don't know. While we were
searching Dalinn ordered Scooter to go on the AT with her.
I stayed on the ship and Mick reported a problem in sickbay. When i got
there i saw she was being attacked. I grabbed the attacker and performed the
Vulcan Neck Pinch. Then I put the culprit in the brig.

"It is my first day back aboard the Federation after my Leave of Absence.
I am now on an away mission to the planet Gilnar. We are searching for the
Vulcan purist/renegade Captain Sazk. I have been sent on this mission
because I have had personal dealings with the purists. My knowledge is not
extensive, but I have been led to believe that it's all we really have. If
we, for some reason, must talk to this man, I believe I might be the one they
need for the job. I am Vulcan and Romulan, so I may
look like him, but I have no real qualms about lying a little to make him
believe me.

We have been ordered to go to Grilk space in search of Captain Sazk who is a
dangerous terrorist. JAW is going to lead this mission, due to his knowledge
of Romulans. We intercepted one of their ships and we could not talk
peacefully so they want to fight. I suggested that we could up some
hologram's out in space to scare them away. They seem to talk in a
"VERB-NOUN" way, not "NOUN-VERB" or they just reverse the words, an example
KILL WE MUST. We found a hole but they were trying to block it, we
need to lower our shield and beam up the AT. We were able to beam up the AT.

Well The Ground Work is almost Finished we Still have a Few Areas that
are incomplete. Also We are having Minor Problems with getting the Waterfall
Structure Stablized it is not built yet but the models show after a couple
Photon Torps hit the ship it will collapse which is unexceptible. I am Of
Course Working on newer models. I think I might have found one that Works but
it needs more Testing. Also I have Given the Go ahead to Start the Dirt to
Come in and be put down in the Areas that Are
Finished.
I have Gotten the Water for the Water Fall Plans Out I Have it Set
up to Use the Same Water and filter and Cycle So to keep it Fresh and Clear.
Although the Actual Falls aren't up yet.
Also I have I hope Gotten all the portable Envromental Units We
Need. I haven't Gotten a Number From Rogue or Wing Yet So I just made a
Logical Guess and Brought 10 We will most likely need more But i didn't want
to get 25 and we only need 20 That Would Level us with extra Ones which we do
not need.
I am Hoping To Finish up the Ground Work for the Dirt Placement
Next Week Some Time Possibly Later Since the Whole Area near the Waterfall
Placement isn't Complete so we may need to Change some of the Dirt Place ment
this should not be a problem.
Also The Upper Viewer or Ceiling Has Been Finished I am Pleased to

We got out of the nutral zone alive, and that's more than I expected
concidering all the problems we had. The cloak wouldn't work, the sensor aray
broke, and the console blew up in Solo's face, and Jora and Mavrk got sick. I
didn't have much to do, so I dcided to go down to Engineering and visit Jora.
I found her crouched behind a console having some kind of breakdown. Uhura
send a holographic doctor, but I teleported Jora to sickbay and unimployed
the hologram. I'm worried about Mavrk too. When I went
to Sickbay he was there. Something was horribly wrong with his skin, and
even though I hardly know him, I'm a little worried. The Hood came and
escorted us to Starbase 202, so I guess we'll do some repairs there.

DUTY LOG
FstLt. Rogue Quodlibet
Chief of Security
SD9701.27
Rogue finished breaking down the last box and placed it in the closet, for
later usage. She looked around her new office, satisfied, and far more
pleased than she would willingly admit to anybody. She had really missed
working in Security. She adjusted a bat'leth on the wall, stepping back to
critique the display of hand weapons she had collected over the past few
years.
The piece she was proudest of was her S'harien dagger, which she always
carried in a cunningly concealed sheath. The dagger was priceless, but it
held a lot of meaning for her.
~~"Passive," hee hee~~ She remembered what Edenic had told her. She settled
into the big chair behind the desk and pulled up her work station. She began
looking through the security personnel roster, noting who the ACSEC was. She
didn't know him very well, she would have to set up a meeting with him ASAP.
She also noted that the same people tended to get assigned to the same
security stations day after day. ~~How boring! I want my team to be
well-rounded...~~ She began setting up a training schedule and new duty
rotations. Two manditory training sessions per week, a drill schedule... her
fingers moved rapidly across the keypad. Sharper than a blade, quicker than a
whip; there was nothing more pleasing than a well-oiled security team in
action.
Rogue had taken full advantage of the combat training room, keeping herself
in shape, and her reflexes quick. ~~Mmm, I wish the Loth had had a CTR like
we've got!~~ She leaned back, looking over her preliminary schedule, before
posting it to Ariell for approval. She was glad that Ariell had given her the
position, and she was going to do her best to see she lived up to the
Captain's expectations.
