Duty Log. Stardate 9606.23.
I arrived late today, but we were stuck in conflict with a cloud-like being.
Ender was busy with a Creature emitting some sort of signal, we had to block
it. Ender and I connected a phaser power pack to the blocker and
successfully blocked the signal. Then, to get the Cloud off our backs, we
imitated the Creature's signal and shot out a Torpedo emitting the signal.
And we did it seconds away from Hull Breaching.
No other news, except I got promoted at last.
This is the last log from Lt. Jay Winger.

On our way from the Star Base, we got a distress call and were lured
into a nice little death trap. We got away, and started repairs. Now, we're
battling Cardies with the USS Merrimack! What a day! I stepped down from
Chief Tactical and gave Ensign Royce a try. He did well. I'm going to
reccommend him for promotion. Afterthought: I went to fix the torpedo tube
today. I had to go into Zero-G and all. It reminded me of Jackal and I and
the old days. Ah, sweet memories!

Its wierd how some things work out. I applied for USF and got posted to the
Excelsior..But my first mission was on the USS Trieste (I was helping out as
acting Helm Officer). I wasn't briefed on the mission, so bear with me. The
Hood and the Trieste were escorting a small transport vessel when it suddenly
dissappeared. Scans showed an energy foeld with a comm signal coming from it.
we sent a shuttle over.. but that also dissapeared. However, we tracked the
shuttle to a small Class-M Planet in the system.
Toward the end of the sim sensors showed a Borg ship entering the sector.

Today we were sent to investigate a rift in space. A seemingly simple
chore. I think the rift was a gateway to a paralell universe or the future
or something. Some ships came out of it (including the USS TOLSTOY, a Romulan
ship, and a Borg cube). They came from a place where the Borg had pretty much
assimmilated everything. I beamed aboard the TOLSTOY with an away team to
help with repairs. The whole thing ended in explosions. That made me happy.

Duty Report: Stardate 9607.08
All systems were operational and functioning within Starfleet standard. Our
mission perameters were exploratory. I routed additional energy to the
Science department for conducting scans. Per the Admiral's request I
monitered a Temporal Rift approximately 100 meters off our bow. After a
sudden fluctuation in the rift, the USS Tolstoy appeared. A communication
line was opened and an Away Team was deployed to render repair and
assistance. The Away Team mission was partially successful in repairing
warp capability to the Tolstoy. I recommended we use the tractor beam to
secure the Tolstoy and move it away from the Rift. The Admiral gave the
order and we locked onto the Tolstoy. Fluctuations in the Rift were
increasing when scans alerted us to the presence of a Borg ship. The Away
Team were immediately beamed back on baord. The Borg ship had approached us
from the stern. Caught between the Borg and the Rift, the Admiral chose to
enter the Rift. I disengaged the tractor beam from the
Tolstoy... apparently the inertia carried the Tolsy after us. The Borg
followed. Our energy systems were depleting. Shields were down to marginal
levels. I re-routed energy from all non-essential areas to boost shields and
weapons. Just when I thought we were back in the fight with our systems on
line... A Romulan Warbird de-cloaked on our starboard side. The Romulan
Captain hailed us and requested assistance. Tensions were high, Romulans are
not to be trusted. The issue was settled when the
Tolstoy began hailing us with emergency distress calls. The Tolsoy was
destroyed with all hands.

Today we found a Fed ship and they were in some trouble with the borg. I went
on an awayteam every one was fine except one person I asked to beam me and

Engineering continues to make repairs. Energy Resources are back up to
normal operating levels. Status is currently code Blue, normal operations.
Additional resources have been made available for subspace transmissions. I
do not know the nature of these transmissions as they are classified for
security purposes. I have noted an increase in LARC access by the commanding
officers... I suspect that we may be peparing for an exploratory mission. I
have also received requests for resources in the
medical and science departments. I have assigned primary status to the
commanding officers, secondary status to the science department and standby
status to the medical department. This decision is based upon the current
case loads of the three areas.

Lieutenant Commander Christopher Robert Loran Dole, a betazoid male
confined to a hoverchair, floated in the runabout USS Pearson on its way to
the USS Excelsior, which happened to be one of the newest and greatest ships
in the fleet. He drummed his fingers on the console. Science was not his
first choice for a post, but he was always open to new ideas. Hey, he thought
to himself, he'd never wanted Engineering onboard the Havana, but he took it
anyway and look where it got him. A massive figure
loomed on the viewscreen in front of him. The place Christopher Dole would
soon call home loomed on the viewscreen before him.
"Request permission to dock"; said a young officer infront of him. The
young ensign reminded Dole of the Dole of three years ago <one year sim
time>, young, confident, perhaps even brash. The ensign would soon see the
real purpose of starfleet, the horrors of losing crewmembers in an instant,
and the feeling that you know that you could have done something to prevent
their death. It was all part of the game. It came with the uniform.
"Permission granted, USS Pearson. Welcome aboard, Lieutenant Commander";
chimed a suprisingly young voice from the other line. Dole wondered about the
last time he'd heard that. It was on Aegis <I'm still on that ship in SFOL>.
That was almost a year ago <more like a month>, but it didn't matter. The
shuttle bay of the Excelsior got larger, and larger, and larger, until the
runabout landed smoothly inside of the massive starship. Dole soon floated
out into his new world. He noticed several Jay-Gee's
and Ensigns working around shuttlebay, and they all stopped and saluted Dole
like he was some sort of an admiral. Dole realized how when he was an ensign
how he'd always salute a Lieutenant Commander or even a Lieutenant like that.
"At ease", Dole murmered in his soft voice. No sooner had he floated into
the turbolift did his comm badge chime with orders to meet with the captain
and executive officer for a meeting of the senior staff. Dole sighed and sent
the turbolift headed towards it's next destination. Dole's time to shine had
come. He was at the top now. Could he manage to stay on top of his life? Only
time would tell.....

anomoly. Booorriing (in Solo's words, "Science scmience. I wanna blow
something up!" I couldnt have put it better myself) Suddenly, a Federation
ship emerged from the anomoly. She was badly damaged and the captain said it
was a new Borg weapon. As Cmdr. Putz said, that could be a serious threat to
the federation. That threat became more severe when a Borg ship emerged from
the anomoly. In the academy I studied the Borg thuroughly
because of my parents death at Wolf 359. I hope next nime we can find some
way to destroy the Borg ship before it reaches and inhabited planets. If this
ship is similar systems-wise to the Borg of out dimension, we might be able
to employ the antimatter burst technique used by the Enterprise.

Last week on the USS Excelsior, we were ordered to investigate a rift in
space. A ship emerged from that rift, the USS Tolstoy. They claimed that
USS Excelsior was one of the first to be destroyed by Borg. We repaired
thier vessel, but before we could send them back, a Borg Ship emerged. The
Federation could not afford an encounter with the Borg, so we flew both the
Tolstoy and Excelsior into the Rift. The Borg did follow! Upon arriving the
Borg destroyed the USS Tolstoy, ourself and a Romulan ship
we met (one of the last ones apparently) both escaped. The Warbird cloaked
and took off. The USS Excelsior engaged it warp bubble drive in order to
escape assimilation. END

Last time on the USS Excelsior, we had 2 minutes to leave the cloaked
Starbase 342. The Borg were ready to attack. The Starbase was evacuated.
With more than 30 ships from the Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, Pakleds,
Ferengi, Federation, we were ready to make our stand against the Borg!
Suddenly the borg arrived. The Excelsior along with the others that could
cloak did. Slowly ship by ship our small army od ships was being destroyed.
The Excelsior got caught in the tractor beam of the Borg.
We only had one option.
The USS Excelsior engaged its warp bubble drive to break our ship free.
The ships continued to fall rapidly. In the end the only survivors were the
IKC Hegh'ta, IKC Komerex, RES Avenger, RES Viper, and USS Excelsior. All
ships deployed cloaked to one of the 3 remaining space station facilities
known to us; Deep Space Nine. I have ordered a phase cloaking weapon be
setup on DS9 for a backup plan incase the station is invaded. We are one of
43 ships based at Deep Space 9. Five of those 43 ships
are Dominion vessels who also appear to be on our side.
What will happen this week?

Argent went to guard Engineering from a possible Borg invasion. When the
Borg attacked, several ships were destroyed by an explosion when a phase
cloaked DS9 de-cloaked. The Borg ship was not affected. Wilkens was injured

The Excelsior engaged the Borg in battle, with several other ships.
It was my first time in battle on this ship. I am not the only new officer
aboard. Argent and someone else are new too. I am pleased with the way the
battle was conducted. While the ships weapons did the borg little damage, I
am happy to say that the security personnel worked well. The Borg beamed into
engineering, (in my assigned area of responsibility) and Ens Menion, myself,
and several other men from other departments, we
succeeded in containing and killing them all. I had suggested raising
shields in the corridors to inhibit the borgs movement, but Ens Menion
advised against that action, because it would prohibit security movement as
well. I then flushed some of the borg out an airlock, but kept the rest for
study. There was much hand-to-hand combat, and a few serious injuries, but
few fatalities.

they caused the shields to rise and we couldnt beam back. The Excelsior lead
the cloaked ships, and we shortly followed leading the rest. there was a
massive exlplosion on the bridge killing its command crew. I took the helm
while Ayden took Tactical. We fired everything we has

We were still orbiting the Space Station, making much needed repairs to our
warp engines, shields and weaponry. Away Team(s) were assisting other
vessels in making hasty preparations for a rapid departure. The Excelsior
served as the informational hub, relaying data and monitering incoming
traffic. Much of my duties consisted of re-routing resources from one area
of the ship to another, trying to find that balance of serving the needs of
the many.
The Admiral was in continual conferencing with delegates from the Space
Station. The delgates appeared to represent most factions of the Federation
Alliance. I have no details of the discussions that took place. Given the
nature of our recent encounters with the Borg... I would suspect that the
discussions involved high level tactical planning. While the Admiral was
wrapped up trying to talk sense into the various delegates, Commander Putz
had the bridge. While monitering standard EMS long range
sensors... I detected a brief blimp on my moniter. I alerted the Commander
and members of Engineering and Science began reviewing the anomoly.
I believe it is an old Terran expression that trouble comes in pairs. It
held true this day. We were having some difficulty balancing the energy
needs required to maintain our cloaked status and assist the others in their
repairs... when we received a urgent message from a Federation vessel in
distress. Three incoming ships were being pursued by the Borg. Their
Estimated Time of Rendezvous with the Station... 3.5 minutes. The Away Teams
were reluctant to leave their tasks, but I locked on their
signals and beamed them back aboard per the Admiral's orders. We dispatched
a hasty battle plan to the other vessels and prepared to greet the Borg ship.
We were no match for them on this day... in the ensuing volley of weapons we
were blasted way off course. When we regained our composure... scanners
indicated that we were just outside of the Klingon Empire.

Today was my first day as the XO of the USS Legend, a Romulan ship that we

ship began to have a few problems. I seriously think the warranty on the
Legend ran out on us. Ensign Phaser and I fixed the disruptor coils when
they failed on us. Then SickBay had a few problems. The bedpans began to
overflow on us and the Romulans went berserk. One held a medical technician
hostage and we were forced to transport him to the Brig. I
would have preferred to sedate him my own way. When we arrived at K-7, the
Tacticians and I got together to come up with some weapons to use against the
Borg. Hygiel believes he can construct a bomb filled with protomatter. The
only problem is the protomatter's instability. Hygiel thinks he can work
around that. If the problems on the Legend weren't bad enough, it cloaked

Jo'Mal: ::presses a button on the scren:: Sirs, yesterday, as a Engineering
Tech team was finishing some Federation conversions to the Legend we
discovered a Romulan-like archive but it also had some Vulcan, Terran,
Klingon, and strangely enough Ferengi aspects. We opened it up and it
appeared to begin making changes to the computer system. This triggered the
partial cloak we achieved but it opened systems on decks we had thought
empty. Unfortunately we had to shut down the program while waiting for your
approval Captain and we must find a crucial part of the program is missing.
It appears to be a clear brake in code which leads us to believe that this is
a security precaution. The remainder of the code is most likely located
somewhere in this ship's computer.
Putz: Alright I want you to work on this. Brian, you and Mr. Ayden, when he
is feeling better get to work as well. Any speculation as to the nature of
this program?
Pep: Well, Captain since the program intiated the cloaking progam and we know
the allies have been working collectivly on a way of fighting the Borg this
may be some kind of defense program.
Winger: Sir, I agree, I think it may be secured to keep the Borg from being
able to take the technology we have produced. It must be something pretty
strong...
Brian: Prehaps the station's commander has some inforation on where you may
find the other portion of the program. I still believe that it is somewhere
aboard though.
Putz: Understood, I will get in contact with K-7's Commanding Officer.
Meanwhile I want this ship checked from fore deck to aft mainstay till this
program is found. If we are going to battle with the Borg we are going to
have every advantage possible.

The new Romulan ship, aka the Legend, under command by our own Commander Putz
began its first day into history. Meanwhile, on the Excelsior, I had
problems raising power to certain systems so the Admiral sent Ensign Jack and
a civilian to help. Without their help, I would have never gotten that power
up. The transporters suffered some minor damage due to plasmic pulses.
Nothing major, they were still operational. The Admiral wanted to know if
there was a way to use the warp bubble drive as a weapon.
Thinking it over, I came up with the thought of re-routing warp bubble
frequencies to the main deflector conduits, which would be like a phaser
blast large enought to destroy a fairly large asteroid. I thought that we
might need the warp bubble later on, so I directed power from conduit 4,
leaving 2 conduits of warp bubble power open, to conduit 8 of the photon
torpedo modulators. We docked with K-7 and had a temporary shore leave.

I had a rough day. First of all, I didn't have anyone in Engineering.
Second of all, mass confusion. I wanted to make sure there was no possible
hiding place for the Borg. I asked for someone to meet me in Stellar
Cartography, but by the time the confusion was figured out, it was too late.
We had already arrived at our destination. The Admiral, a few other crew
members, and I beamed down to the surface to prepare the people of that
planet for an upcoming attack by the Borg. I was ordered to
configure the power systems to match those of the remaining ships. I got
that done in a snap, but shortly after, the power cut. It was like the Borg
was sending some sort of transmission jamming signal. With no time left I
was ordered to beam back to the Excel. The Admiral stayed on the surface to
attempt to regain power. He got the power up, we beamed him out of there
just before the borg destroyed the entire planet. The Legend reported a warp

USS Excelsior --> Temporarily assigned to USS Legend
CTO --> XO
<<<<OPEN DUTY LOG>>>>
Duty log. Stardate 9608.11.
Today the Excelsior and the Legend set course for Aldea, where they had a
weapon that could be put to use against the Borg. I informed Gaige Mo-Nai in
the Xevani Hausenite Fleet to simply keep an eye out for the Borg. They
obviously noticed nothing, since we were attacked by the Borg around Aldea.
They attacked the Legend and we were forced to evacuate the refitted Romulan
ship when we experienced a warp core breach. The Legend did manage to damage
one Borg ship in the explosion. Then the Borg
invaded the Excelsior. I managed to take out one Borg and was starting on
another when it zapped me. I got a bad burn but managed to take out my
attacker. I made my way towards SickBay and met Bower and the way there. He
examined me and beamed me to SB. He has not informed me of the extent of the
damage done by the Borg, but I hope it is not serious. BTW, I finally got
promoted to lieutenant commander!!

BEGIN DUTY LOG
I arrived on the bridge after my brief leave-of-absence. Somehow, I
managed to find the Excelsior, even though they were in an alternate universe
or something (I'll have to ask the writers how that worked). We and the
Legend were at space station K-7, trying to prepare for the Borg.
Amidst my objections, the Admiral beamed to the planet with two crewmen
to help them prepare for this attack, as well. I hope they fare better than
we did.
One of their rubiks appeared, and before long had destroyed the Legend.
We managed to beam everyone back before the ship exploded. Fortunately, in
the explosion, that Borg ship was destroyed. Unfortunately, another rubik
was on its tail, and picked up the battle with no thought for their thousands
of dead comrades.
In the mean time, everyone but the Admiral beamed back, and so did
several Borg. We killed some of them, and managed to take a few live
prisoners as well. I'm looking forward to "inspecting" some of these
borgies. A blast from the planet, thanks to the away team, sent us 3 days
away from K-7. The Admiral informed us that the station was destroyed,
though, so there was nothing to go back to.
We are on our way to the planet to pick up the Admiral. I hope he is
okay.

I can definitely feel the loss of energy after not going to the gym for 4
weeks. We've just been so busy with this whole "Borg Thing" that any kind of
recreation is impossible. One good thing is that this mission will end soon
and personal time will once again be personal time. I'm getting tired of this
alternate universe and can't help but to wonder if we even belonged there.
After all, it has no bearing on the real universe whatsoever. So if our own
universe was in danger, we weren't there to help. In
other words, our fighting and effort here ould have put our own universe in
jeopardy. Lets hope everything's ok. I miss my beach house in Los Angeles
terribly. The morning walks on the white sand with the waves just touching my
feet while drinking a cup of freshly ground hazelnut coffee are what I miss
the most. We made it through the rift without incident and it feels good to
be home.

After arriving back at Aldea, we found some debris which we mistook for the
planet itself. It suddenly appeared before us, and the Admiral appeared on
the Comm channel. We beamed him aboard and cloaked the ship. The Admiral then
asked for plans to return us to our own universe, I offered one, it was
accepted, and we're now on our way back to the point at which we entered this
alternate universe. The admiral frequently made references to not feeling
well, and things not being as they should. We arrived at
the rift and passed through to our own universe, and are now on course for
DS9.

The warp core has been acting up a little. I told Ensign Jueves to monitor
it. He was later called for another assignment, so I took his place.
Suddenly there was a flash, and a conduit went dead. I replaced it as soon
as I could. We arrived at our rendezvous point shortly after, to retrieve
the Admiral. To my understanding, we've been holding a few Borg in a holding
cell. Lieutenant Bower wanted me to escort a Borg to sickbay, but I was
under strict orders from the Admiral to try to find a way
back to our own..."time zone." So I did a site to site transport.
Suddenly, just as I looked out the window, a worm hole, large enough for the
ship to fit through, popped up. I notified the Bridge, and sure enough, just
about the only wau to get home, we flew through it. Seconds later, we were
back in our own "time zone." I know we weren't in hell, but I couldn't
imagine hell being much worse. At least we're back.

Lieutenant (jg) Ace
Operations Manager
USS Excelsior NX-2000b
Stardate: 9608.19
Our mission is complete. I had my doubts that we would be able to return to
*our* time, but I am happy to have been proven wrong. Although we have
arrived safely, the price was very high. Among the count of missing in
action are 50 crew members that were onboard the USS Legend, when a Borg Ship
attacked. I was unable to retain their signatures when the *explosion*
knocked us lightyears from our previous coordinates. By the time we had
gathered our wits, we had lost contact with the Admiral... and
25% of the crewmembers of the Legend.
The Admiral had remained on Aldea, when the rest of the Away Team was beamed
back to the Excelsior. I attempted to lock onto the Admiral when we were
attacked by Borg... but the need to transport the crew from the Legend, took
priority status. They fell in the line of duty... as true warriors should.
[Return to Archives | Return to Listing ]
Rear Admiral Mondox ordered us to return to Aldea at best speed. We had
received an emergency dispatch from Aldea, but I believe that Mondox was
concerned with retreiving the Admiral. When we dropped out of lightspeed, we
encountered massive debris and particulate emission... but, no Aldea.
Apparently the blast that sent us 30 hours away, totally obliterated the
planet and the attacking Borg.
Manuevering through the debris was difficult. We needed to run scans to
identify any and all organic material... and most importantly, to locate the
Admiral. Shields needed to be kept to a minimum. In the end it was the
Admiral that found us. Communicating through an open frequency, he informed
Mondox that he was injured, but mobile. I locked onto his coordinates and we
beamed him back onboard. Our orders were to find our way home.
Since my services at Operations were not required, I assumed my secondary
post in Medical. Our orders were to retrieve essential data from the captive
Borg, using whatever means necessary. I prepped one of the *deceased* Borg
for dissection. As I was making my preliminary vivsection, the Admiral walked
in. He had sustained some injuries during the *explosion*. The Chief
Medical Officer told the Admiral to heal himself... I was taken aback, until
Lieutenant (jg) Bower informed me that the Admiral was
a shape-shifter.
The Doc used... some unusual techniques to induce the Admiral to shape-shift.
When he did, a probe of some kind popped out of his arm and skidded across
the floor. I rushed over and contained it... it appeared to be some form of
an isolinear relay chip. Obviously, when the Borg shot the Admiral, they
were attempting to slow him down and assimilate him. I am looking forward to
working on the chip. I believe that we have in our hands, the secret to
unlocking the *Collectives* assimiliation powers.
On a final note... I received a promotion. It is good to be home.

Duty log. Stardate 9608.18.
Today we returned to the Aldean system to find out what happened to the
Admiral. We found a field of debris waiting for us. We were worried at
first, but we found that Aldea was cloaked. The Admiral was safe. He beamed
back and we headed for the rift which brought us here. We got through. Now
we are in our own universe. The Admiral went to SickBay and had a Borg
isolinear chip "removed" from his arm. The plot, as they say, thickens.
<<<<CLOSE DUTY LOG>>>>

BEGIN DUTY LOG
We were on our way to the planet Aldea to pick up the Admiral, who had
stayed down there. There was, thankfully, no sign of any borg, but when we
got to the location of the planet, there was nothing but debris. Of course,
our first assumption was that the planet had been destroyed. However, we
scanned the debris and found no organic material, so either all people
escaped the destruction, or maybe the planet wasn't destroyed. I was
convinced we were just at the wrong location, and perhaps the
battles with the Borg had messed up our navigation system.
Before there was too much time to panic, the planet "decloaked,"
indicating how they had escaped the attack on the Borg. The Admiral
responded, and beamed back aboard. Our next item of business was to get the
hell back to our own dimension. Gains recommended we return to the sight of
the rift and use a gravitational beam to heighten the space/time/dimensional
split or whatever it was that got us here in the first place. I assigned
tactical on full alert to watch for more Borg, and all other
personnell to Engineering to assist in the process.
Sadly, the Admiral was not feeling well. He reported to sick bay, where
he was complaining about a problem with his arm. The good doctor discovered
some kind of implant in his arm, and was considering the possibility of
amputation. The Admiral then "morphed" or "shape-shifted" or whatever the
"PC" way of saying that is, and the implant popped out. When the Admiral
returned to his own form, he felt completely better, last report.
In the mean time, we had reached the rift. There was some concern that
it had closed so that was too small for our ship to fit through. However, in
the capable hands of the crew, we were able to make it back to our own time.
Time scanning confirmed it, and the crew rejoiced.

I am in the middle of rewriting several procedures in an effort to speed up
response time, such as a voice-activated conn system. It is programmed to

lays the course in for me instantly. This particular procedure will be useful
in cases of emergency, where we need to escape danger. Rather than me having
to input the course after I'm told what it is, all I have to do is double
check the course that was automatically laid in and
then just press the "Engage" button.

A legend, a myth, words often used to describe the man whom is known as
Phallon Tec. We use the term man in a tentative term because he may be a she
we do not know. Phallon Tec, a Cardassian term, meaning, simply, one of
nothingness. Here in lies stories some purportedly truthful in context,
others so wildly outlandish they could only be shadows of the imagination.
Phallon Tec, a supposed myth of the criminal world. criminals throughout the
universe tell stories of him to their children to keep them behaving.
Accordining to any respectable opinion he is nothing more than bar room talk
of common thugs. An assassin, a robber, a bodyguard, anything...
It is so told for a partiuclar price he can be hired. Never directly,
through various anonymous sources, fake entitlements, and methods unknown.
Certain jobs that have been attributed to him are the assassination of
President Merek, the robbery of the collective plans of the Tal Shiar and
Obsidian Order invasion and attack on the Founders, and, so it is told, that
he claims the possession of the dreaded weapon, Tox Uthat, thought to have
been destroyed.
He has no passion, no want for destruction, no hatred of anybody or
anything just an unwavering devotion to whomever has hired him at that time.
Few people have seen his face and lived to tell about. Those who have, well,
it is only out of his probable need for that person at some distant point in
the future. Cold, calculating, and more dangerous than even a true enemy...
This is cause for fear and some people think this is his greatest triumph.
However, the greatest trick the one of nothingness has ever pulled was
convincing the universe that he did not exist...

What should have been a routine docking and shore leave, turned into a comedy
of errors. Apparently, while enroute to DS9 some of our navigational systems
experienced discrepencies... the Helm thought we were establishing orbit
around Terra in the Sol System. Thank Drago... no injuries occurred.
As soon as Docking manuevers had been accomplished, we received a
communication from the Station. All Command personnel were being held
captive in one of the large conference halls. Three away teams were
dispatched. Our mission was twofold; to rescue the captives from their
imprisonment and to apprehend the perpetrater.
Lieutenants (jg) Worf and Bower, Ensign Jack and myself, accompanied
Commander Putz to the Station. We encountered no immediate resistence, until
I bumped into a forcefield. Attempts at disarming the forcefield were
ineffective. Commander Putz located the control panel and disarmed it. Such
a simple and effective solution.
While investigating, the Commander was incapacitated by an intruder. This
intruder was clothed in purple garb and carried a black box... Lieutenant
Worf and I persued the assailant, while Bower and Jack rendered aid to the
Commander.
At one point I thought that we had the man in purple in our grasp. He had
ducked into a shuttlecraft and was attempting to disengage the docking
clamps. I attempted to discourage this by locking the docking protocals on
the main console. I failed and the purpleman escaped.
During a debriefing on the subject, I have since learned that the Excelsior
locked a transporter beam on the fleeing shuttlecraft. They were able to
retain the blackbox that the man in purple carried.
Commander Putz seems to know this man in purple. He called him... Phallon
Tec. I will be most interested in learning the contents of this black box.

Just recieved the tactical log for Commander Winger. I am pretty disturbed
by the "Little Black Box." If Phallon Tec truly has the infamous Tox Uthat
then the galaxy is in trouble.
According to my research, the Tox Uthat is a weapon of unbelievable
destructive power. The Tox Uthat is quantum phase inhibitor capable of
halting all nuclear reactions within a star. The Tox Uthat is a palm-size
device and can easily fit in the mysterious "Little Black Box."
If we now have the Tox Uthat then half the galaxy will hunt us down to

Duty Log
9608.25
My first assignment was somewhat unusual. Having reported to the bridge,
expecting to find the Admiral at the com, there was considerable confusion on
deck.
Cmdr. Putz was attempting to retreive whatever order may have been before my
arrival and establish who was the CO. I did not expect to find such chaos on
the bridge of the federation flag ship. To his credit, Cmdr. Putz did manage
to get things under control.
Counselor's Note: The stress levels experienced by Cmdr. Putz were extremely
high
though his performance was comendable considering
the situation.
I did sense that the stress experienced was NOT
beneficial to his
health. This same stress was also most likely
present before the
extrenuous circumstance of the date in question
caused it to
elavate to dangerous levels, indicating that there
is a pre-existing
circumstance acting as a "mental time bomb," as an
old research
collegue would say. It is my formal recomendation
that:
(a) Cmdr. Putz report to sick bay for a
complete physiological
work up to determine the affects this
stress is currently
having on his physical performance.
(b) Cmdr. Putz arrange an appt. with me for
evaluation at his
earliest convenience.
Once order was established, XOKnight assumed command. His transition into
the position was smooth and orderly. I sensed no unusual stress or angst on
his part.
These are clearly signs one finds in a natural leader. His performance was
to be commended.
In addition, Cmdr. Winger performed at optimal as well. The remaining
officers handled themselves to standard with the exception of a lapse of
discipline on the part of some Ens.' and Ltnt.s. These issues can be
explored in more detail when I perform crew evaluations.
Once our mission was established, I was again taken off guard to be placed on
an away team. As this is not unheard of I continued without comment, though
I assumed that my skills would have been better utilized had I remained on
board and evaluated empathic responces. I was wrong. First rule in officer
training, never second guess your CO, which is very difficult when your
position requires that as part of your standing orders. Had I not gone, I
would not have detected residual emotional
energy on force field componants that Ens. Data was working on.
Now to place this discovery into context of the following events.
I will not repeat the obvious chain of events that occured on our mission as
these are well documented elsewhere. But I will mention that the entity
dressed in purple that we encountered was quite atypical in empathic
responce. Unlike most humanoid species, this subject did not register to my
empathic sense; in other words, I did not receive empathic signals nor did I
experience an obvious lack of such signals as one would experience with a
vulcan or a shielded mind. There was simply, nothing. I
could attribute the same kind of responce to a lower grade holo image. But
for now, knowing from other's discriptions of these events that this is not
necessarily accurate, I will withhold drawing any direct conclusions.
Understanding the above, that leaves the residual emotional prints that I
encountered on the forcefield componants. An empathic responce identical to
that print was also experienced once the mission was completed. This I
reported to LtCd Winger . If asked to identify this second responce in
reference to the first, I would say that both came from the same entity.

[Return to Archives | Return to Listing ]
The only difference being that the second was decidedly "farther away" though
in real time (unlike the first) and the driving componant was RAGE. And not
very controlled rage at that. To give any further information on this
subject would require a second encounter.

What was supposed to be routine leave and repairs, turned out to be a very
confusing situation. We arrived at DS9 to find that the main power was
knocked out, all the passengers and crew locked in the lounge, and a
mysterious person who fled at the very site of our away teams carrying a
little black box. We recovered the black box, but the person got away.

CdrPutz had a hard time getting it going. When we finally got the sim going
we docked at DS9. It was going to be a rutean shour leave while the
Excelsior got the repars she baddly needed. Unfortunatly we recived a
message from Mr. Breshnev saying that most of the crew was stuck in the
loung, so we had to begin a rescue mission. While we where on our way to
rescue the people that where traped we ran into someone looked like the
mythical Phallon Tec. This Phallon Tec was carrying a black box which "he"
was trying to steal. We got the box back but Phallon Tec got away in a

Phallon Tec beamed aboard the Excel and just about took over the ship. He
uploaded a nasty virus that nearly killed Commander Putz. Then he
transferred all comands to the Battle Bridge. Which, at the time, all the
power was cut, all but life support, in an attempt to get rid of the virus.
I thought it was the box. It's almost like a "Q" that went wrong. Emergency
power was still running in engineering, so I had Data raise the air pressure
in the BB to 83 KPS. It should have knocked him out, but it
had no effect. Several attempts to raise the power failed. There was even
a small radiation leak leak on deck 38. The EPS taps went nuts on just about
all decks. So there was one shot left. Restoring the Protected Orginal
Programming Systems. After we did that, Tec made an attempt to flee the
ship. Lieutenant Commander Winger encountered him, but Tec vanished into
thin air, or should I say "space."

I begin my tour at the Ops Station because Lt. Ace was in Sickbay with a rare
case of Laborous Dayous Diease. After vacuuming the his dog hairs from the
seat, we set course to pursue the Cardassian, Phallon Tec. The ops stations
was acting a little sluggish before we entered the wormhole.
Once through the wormhole, we recieved a transmission from Phallon Tec daring
us to catch him. We traced the transmission to Sector 330. g and I set an
intercept course to the sector.
When we arrived, we detected no other vessels in the Sector and down in
Engineering, Mr. Worf and his crew were trying to open the mysterious black
box.
Before they open it, the Entire ship went haywire.
A Romulan Warbird decloaked and attacked. Minor damage to secondary hull.
The Warbird morphed into Phallon Tec's shuttlecraft.
Suddenly my console sparked and smoked. I recieved minor burns from
resulting explosions.
Then the vile Cardassian appeared on the Brigde and with superhuman strength,
he threw Lt. Brian across the like a ragdoll.
I fired my phaser at him only to see the beam pass right through him.
Tec attacked Commander Putz and then disappeared, again.
Phallon Tec reappeared in the Battle Bridge and assuming control of the
Excelsior.
I ran from my post toward the battle brigde. I quickly decided to surprise
Phallon Tec by sneaking through the Jeffries Tubes to The Battle Bridge.
Commander Winger and Lt. Brian join me in the Jeffries Tubes as the rest of
the crew dealt with Phallon Tec's computer virus.
The Tubes were block off by a series of Class 3 force fields. We used our
phasers to overload the force fields until we reached the Battle Bridge.
Phallon Tec disappeared again. Once we regain control of the Battle Bridge,
Mr. Worf and his team purge the ship of the computer virus.
But, we lost Phallon Tec, again.

After Pallon Tac took one of the runabouts we transported back to the
Excelsior. As soon as we got back to the ship we began to chase him, when we
finally got to where he was we found a Romulan Warbird there instead. He had
some how got a virues in to the ships computers which put everything to
emergency power. Dr. Carpenter and I were asked to the bridge because
CmdrPutz on the floor unconcious. When we got him back to the sicbay and on
to a biobed he went into minor cunvulseing. Suddenly Pallon
Tac appeared out of no where and told me that he had inplanted many virueses
into Putz' body, but only one of them was the one we needed to cure and if I
cured the wrong one he would die. Dr. Carpenter and I started looking for
the virues right away until Mr. Tac finally told us that he was simplly
unconcious and all we had to do is revive him. After all that we found out
that the admeral was returning to us in a shuttle so we all met him in
shuttle bay 1 where he promoted Worf, Dr. Carpenter and
myself to Lt. Congrads all on a good SiM. Thank you CmdrPutz.

We arrived today at Station DS9, only to find that the crew was trapped
in several sections of the station. Away teams were organized, and I was
placed in Captain Knights team, and we slowly made our way to ops. We set
about repairing the various systems, while the other teams rescued the
stations crew. Our activities were, however cut short by an intruder. He
attempted to leave the station, and while a tractor was locked on, the
fugitive escaped.

Today we pursued Phallon Tec. We followed his coordinates and walked into a
"pseudo-ambush." He beamed to SickBay, where I was attempting to find out
what was in his Box. He used some sort of control to deal a great deal (and
I do mean a great deal) pain to Yours Truly. He then beamed to the Bridge,
where he rendered Putz unconscious. He retreated to the Battle Bridge, where
he sealed himself off. Hygiel, Brian, and I tracked him down via the
Jefferies Tubes. As soon as I got there, he beamed
away, announcing that Putz did not have a virus as he had said, but was
merely unconscious. Then Tec vanished into the great unknown. Much as I
dread the event, I hope we run into him again, so I can chop him into sixteen
mismatched chunks and then toss 'em into the antimatter one piece at a time.

Today, I was Acting Operations Manager until Lt. Gains comes off sick leave.
Gains replaced Lt. Ace, the Antican, who returned to his homeworld to fight a
civil war.
We set course to the Nigala Sector when we were ambushed by another USS
Excelsior.
At first contact, the other starship's crew was completely hostile toward us.
They answered our peaceful hails with threats and curses.
The Admiral ignored my idea of moving our ship out of transporter range and
before we knew it the Doubles Crew Beamed over.
The Evil Capt Putz immediately attacked our Admiral Clements but he failed.
I quickly jumped on this other Putz with fierce efforts.
We struggled but he broke free and ran toward the battle bridge.
I gave close pursuit with his phaser in my hands.
As he tried to take control of the Battle Bridge, I blasted the door down
with his phaser.
We fiercly fought again until he escaped.
I quickly returned to my post and moved our starship away at maximum warp.
Once we lost the ISS Excelsior, we returned to the Nigala Sector.
We also lost Lt Brain in that battle.
Congradutions to McMagus and Data on their promotions.

myself, and I freaked. I didn't know what to do. My evil self destroyed the
Engineering facility, then was ordered to bring me (me me) to evil Cdr/Capt

Duty log. Stardate 9609.08.
We were en route to the Nigala Sector when we encountered an unexplained
phenomenon. Namely: ourselves. Only they weren't. Well, my evil twin
obviously encountered some resistence in his existence (no rhyme intended),
because he had a large scar on the left side of his face. He and an evil
Putz beamed to the Bridge, despite the Transporter Block "Return-to-Sender"
Program. My twin is a good shot, I've got the burn to prove it. When I shot
him, he didn't even flinch. He just lunged forward and
choked me. I spit in his eye, his good one. He just got up and left the
bridge. I don't know what happened after that, but the computer doesn't list
any intruders or crewman missing, aside from the late Brian, who died today.
So, I guess the evil me is back on his Excelsior. I shudder to think what'll
happen to him, since he failed.

Today we encountered a duplicate of ourselves. I still think it was an
illusion. Knight and that Putz got in a fight before the stinkin' Admiral
broke it up. I would've enjoyed seeing Putz get the crap beaten outta him.
The stinkin' Admiral told Putz, some other stupid crewmen, and me to beam
over there and take 'em out. On their bridge, I saw a weakling version of
myself. He shot at me, but naturally he missed. He took a good shot to the
arm. Before I could return him to his component atoms, he
kicked the phaser out of my hand and shot me. Course it didn't hurt. I
started chokin' him before he spit in my eye...my good one. Much as I
loathed doin' it, I ran off their bridge to follow that Putz to their Battle
Bridge. He'd sealed himself in. Just as I burst in, the stinkin' Admiral
beamed us back. He was about to kill us all when Putz attacked him. Being
the kinda guy that looks for opportunities, I took it and shot Putz. He
disappeared, and not from my shot. Oh, well. We'll be better
off without 'em.
