DUTY LOG
Ensign Kilj Nomra
Assistant Security/Tactical Officer
USS Dauntless
Fleet Captain Dar Esh Mstrad Commanding

Stardate 00.05.11. A Damage Control Team was beamed over to the damaged
frieghter to clear up the dangerous radiation levels on board and to get it
up and under its own power once again. The Fearless hailed us and told us
that they spaceborn and that we should head their way as soon as possible.
Once the freighter was able to be moved we tractored the frieghter and headed
back to the shuttles coordinates at full impulse.
Captain Mstrad on board the Fearless hailed and aprised us of their
situation. Something about the planet was damaging to the shuttles power
cells and was causing a dangerous drain on the shuttles. They were in an
increasingly dangerous situation, per her orders I had the frieghter released
from our tractor beam and we engaged warp towards the Fearless and Reckless.
Both of their orbits were decaying upon our arrival, we tractored the
Fearless
first then flew around and pulled the Reckless back into the Dauntless. I
have heard nothing of injuries among the landing party, they all seem fine.

Stardate 0006.08

Mission log stardate 0006.08. After major system failures, Captain Mstrad
ordered a full scale ship evacuation. I proceeded by going to deck 9 and
helped get the crew into the escape pods. After ejecting all the pods, I went
up to deck 6 and set up the last two pods for launch. I boarded last and
ejected the final pod. Upon clearing the Dauntless, we arranged for all pods
to link up and to count for crew and awaited for the Command Crew to join us
in the bridge pod. Upon their ejection, the Dauntless's systems seem to
power up and the ship warped away. We are now awaiting further orders.

BEGIN LOG
My first mission has been a strange one. First, the Dauntless somehow came
back alive and has warped away. I do not know how that would be possible
because the matter/antimatter balance was not set. Since it was not set,
there should have been no possibility of the Dauntless warping away.
I entered the pod as we ejected away. I immediately began checking to see
how many people were in the pod. Then, the Captain came on the comm and told
us to prepare for docking. I engaged the thruster engines of the pod and
began the docking sequence. I moved the pod toward the main docking area of
the pod and docked with pod number 2. I waited for conformation from the
computer that the airlock was sealed and then set up a small med facility for
any injured. Luckily, there were no injured crewmembers.
The Captain sent a message to every pod stating that we were going to land
on the nearby moon. He selected certain pods to engage their thrusters,
including mine. Unfortunately, mine malfunctioned and pod 6 had to engage
their thrusters to match mine. I got out of my seat and pulled away a panel
to find out what the problem was. I pulled away the stray wires and found
that when the pods had docked, the thrusters were damaged.
We landed with a hard bang which thrust me out of my seat. I looked to see
if anyone was injured and everyone was fine.

Corin walked into pod 13, preparing to begin his new assignment. He was to
assist Lieutenant Junior Grade Troutman in organizing and registering the
supplies that had been on the pods. Although he thought this task was a
little boring, he found that it was necessary for the crewmembers on the
planet.
He walked out of the pod, searching for any extra boxes that might be laying
around. First, he searched all the pods. His results came up positive,
finding eight boxes of tricorders, H2O filters, and phasers. He brought each
back and set them in a designated area. He picked up the PADD and registered
each box in the inventory display.
As he walked out again, he noticed something in the corner of his eye. He
noticed that a tricorder was laying on the ground, showering sparks. Troutman
came out and saw this too. He ran into the pod and got an engineering kit. He
told Corin to find out what the problem was. Corin complied and shorted out
the tricorder's power.
He picked up the strange tricorder and headed toward the pod. He entered and
started to tear open the tricorder. He looked around the tricorder's innards
but found nothing. It was by meer accident that he found the damaged part. A
part in the tricorder was chipped and the result caused great friction
between two other pieces that were nearby. He noticed that the friction
reached the power source.
He left the pod and alerted Troutman. Just as he was notifying the Lt., he
looked up and saw a runabout. He could tell it was a runabout by it's
familiar sound. He wondered why it was in the air and then headed back to
look for more supplies.

BEGIN LOG
I left my pod after we rough landed and was ordered by the Captain to assist
Lieutenant Jg. Troutman in gathering and registering supplies. First, I
looked in all the pods for any supplies that were forgotten or misplaced. I
found a total of eight boxes in all the pods. Each of theses boxes contained
phasers, water filters, tricorders, and one box contained a phasing
interphase device. I brought back each one and set them in their assigned
area. I
picked up the PADD and began to list each one in the inventory display.
I left the pod in search of more boxes and noticed something very strange. A
stray tricorder was laying on the ground, spraying sparks in every direction.
I took it in the pod and started to take it apart. I found that a small was
loose and made a large amount of friction in the nearby pieces. The heat from
the friction reached the power source and in effect sprayed out sparks.
As I went to alert the Lt., and saw a runabout in the air. I wonder why that
runabout was in the air. I'll probably have to ask the Captain or the
Commander.

I continued to register supplies today. I first registered the tricorders
and then the Medical supplies. Lieutenant Troutman came in and took the
Medical supplies to Pod 9. I put the supplies in a corner of my choosing and
went on to the next. I searched through the rest and found an assortment of
essential equipment. I also registered them and put them in a designated
place. Fortunately, I made sure to search each box for damaged items because
I
found a damaged water filter which could have poisoned someone.
I had just finished with all the extra supplies when I noticed Troutman
enter. He told me that we were to gather an engineering kit and a phaser. He
also said to follow him to the Runabout.
I entered the Runabout and sat down near the engineering section. I checked
my kit and phaser and found no errors or faults. We lifted of and entered
space. We tracked and followed the ionic trail that was left by the impulse
drive of the Dauntless. The only strange thing is that no one is on the
Dauntless to control it.

BEGIN LOG
I made diagnostics scans of the warp core today and found no faults. I made
sure that there were no faults and scanned over the core with his tricorder.
I found no faults for the second time.
I saw some woman when I sat down at the ENG station of the runabout. I was
about to ask the Captain who she was but found it best not to ask. I
continued checking systems for faults and found one in impulse.
The impulse drive was low in power for some odd reason and I notified Ltjg
Troutman of the problem. I went over to the source of the problem and removed
the panel. I scanned over and over and finally found the problem. A circuit
was the problem. It was damaged in a landing of the runabout. I alerted
Troutman and went to get a replacement for the circuit. I gave him the
circuit and sat back at the ENG station. I continued the diagnostics scan of
the
entire runabout and found no other faults.
After he was done replacing the circuit, we talked about ways that the
Dauntless could have warped off. We continued the conversation for about five
minutes when suddenly the lights dimmed. I looked on the display and found
that there was a power drain somewhere in the ship. I asked the computer the
origin of the drain but the computer did not know.
We are now continuing to attempt to find a solution to the power drain.

Computer, send a congratulatory note to Lieutenant Troutman for his promotion

~Begin Duty Log~
The runabout has been plagued with a power drain proving to be a thorn in my
side. We ran diagnostics and tests and continued our search for the
Dauntless. I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the crew once we get
back aboard the Dauntless... She'll seem like a Luxury liner compared to this
cramped yacht.. I met most of the "higher" crew members and tried to assist
any of them as efficiently as possible. I first spotted crystalized
Deuterium in the Plasma conduit, I later aided Lt. Troutman in removing the
defective conduit and replacing it with a new one. I offered as many ideas
as I could, even though some went against the book. We succeeded in beaming
Allendra the "unstable" hologram off the ship in hopes that our power drain
will come to an end.

Allendra proved to be a thorn in my finger... Challenges are good though
sometimes. I agree it is good to be put in your place sometimes, even though
she had no right to tell me not to address her. I had no idea why she was
unwilling to recognize the equality of males.. I wonder if holograms have
PMS? I'm sure glad she didn't....
I like the Captain as a person, she has her head on straight, Command fits
her "persona" well... Thank God for that. I felt cramped today during the
mission.. about 8 people on a runabout... It can cause tension. Of course I
never mean to be rude or be rebellious, but apparently I was. I will try
harder in the future to control myself. I was corrected a few times. I DO
appreciate constructive critisicm when I overstep my authority. That shows
that the officer in command isn't AFRAID to be in command... That boosts my
confidence for them. As for the foodpacks..... odd... very odd..... I
look forward to our next mission. This proved to be an enjoyable experience
yet challenging. I'm hungry for more.

Security Department's log, Acting Chief Junior Lieutenant Nomra reporting.
While the hologram Allendra kept herself busy with the Command Crew in the
pilots section while the rest of us worked on the power fallout situation.
After indepth scans and diagnostics, it was concluded that the hologram has
been responible for the power drain. Troutman and his officer worked on a
solution by replacing a conduit which was being tapped by Allendra. Once that
was resolved, and the hologram destablized, it was beamed out into space.
Sensors soon picked up the Dauntless in orbit of Rau Cethii. Plans are now
being made to retake our ship.

BEGIN LOG
I continued my duties on the runabout today. I was ordered by Troutman to
increase the efficiency of the weapons systems and went over the Tactical
station. I attempted to increase its efficiency to 100% but found that the
necessary power was not there. I was only able to get it at 90% and informed
Troutman that the ship would need to be restored to full power before the
weapons system would be a the maximum. He stated that full power would be
restored soon.
When full power was regained, I was informed to also bring up the shields.
After I finished with the weapons, I did so. Shields came up quickly and were
not much of a trouble. After I informed Troutman, he told me to take a break.
I went to where Ensign Brewers was and walked over to the replicator. Since
we had not properly met, I said hello and told him who I was. He informed me
his name and I got some coffee from the replicator. Just as I was about to
relax, Troutman came over the comm and ordered us to gather ENG kits and
phasers. He informed us that we were going to be on the team to invade the
Dauntless.
Since we needed power for getting through the Dauntless' shields, Brewers
and I disengaged all unnecessary systems. I disengaged the tractor beams and
most of the secondary systems. Once we were done, the Captain ordered all
personnel to the Midsection of the runabout. I ran and then arrived.
I listened intently to the instructions that were given. There were to be 3
teams. One would be the decoy, which consists of Commander Nimitz and I,
whose primary use would be to get the being on the Dauntless to head toward
them. The second team consisted of Lieutenant Troutman and Ensign Brewers,
who would go to Engineering. Finally, the third team was made of the Captain
and Lieutenant Junior Grade Nomra. They would start on Deck One.
I am now waiting to beam onto the Dauntless and listen to what the Commander
will want to do.

BEGIN LOG
I have recently been assigned to find a certain shield intensity that would
counteract the hull-damaging gas that the Dauntless would soon be going
through. I was originally in Main Engineering when the Captain called me to
the bridge.
When I arrived, I walked over to her and she briefed me on the situation.
She also informed me that I had very little time and would have to hurry. I
acknowledged her and went to the Engineering station of the bridge. I sat
down and ordered the computer to bring up a display on all information
concerning the dangerous gas. I scanned over it and brought up all shield
intensities on another display. I began testing what the gas would do to each
shield
and found negative results each time.
After a good bit of testing, I finally came up with some conclusive
readings. I had found a shield intensity, shield intensity 8788.32, that
would work, but the only way to supply that much power would be to take warp
offline. I notified the Captain and she told me to keep searching. About 10
more minutes had passed when I found another answer. A shield intensity of
8888.92 would be able to combat the gas for about a half the trip. I found it
to be
less than adequate and continued testing.
Finally, after about 20 more minutes of laborious testing, I found the
answer that had a good chance. Shield intensity 8988.65 was the only
intensity that could keep the gas off the hull. The only problem was that all
secondary systems would have to be taken offline. Also, emergency power and
battery power would be strained to near-critical.
I notified the Captain of what I had found and I was ordered to send a
report to the Science and Engineering department. I did so and continued on
my duties.

I have finished searching for the necessary shield intensities. I then
notified Mr. Cubs of my results. After some deliberation, Mr. Cubs, Mr.
Troutman, and I came to the conclusion that we should go with the first
intensity mentioned. I would have to take warp offline and prepare the
computer. I did, however, tell them that we might the other intensity if we
need warp. I set up the computer and
went to Mr. Cubs office.
I asked him if he requested anything of me and he told me to monitor. I left
his office and headed to the bridge. I arrived and monitored from the
Engineering station of the bridge. After monitoring, I decided to run some
diagnostics scans on the ship. I brought up another display and began one. I
looked over the results as they appeared and noticed no errors.
After a good while, I notified the Captain and updated her. I asked if warp
was an absolute must and she said yes. I then contacted Mr. Cubs and told him
that we might have to hold off our decision until we arrive. He told me to
come down to Main Engineering. I left the bridge and entered the turbolift.
When I arrived, I entered the office and saw that the Commander and Mr.
Troutman were also there. I was puzzled but was soon clarified. Mr. Cubs
looked over my records and complimented me on a good job. He completely
surprised me when he promoted me to Lieutenant Junior Grade. The Commander
pinned a pip on me and congratulated me. I shook some hands and asked if I
could go back on duty. They agreed but told me to make sure that I come to
the
meeting. I left and went up to the bridge, soaked from the gatorade.
When I entered, I noticed everyone staring at me. I sat down at the station
but was relieved by Mr. Troutman. He told me to get changed and dried off. I
agreed and left the bridge.

Justin Lasko- personal log...102600.24

What a way to start my week. As soon as I came aboard I began chasing
"something" around the ship with Commander Nimitz. I believe that I was
stationed to an awsome ship. Everyone was doing there job to help the ship.
No matter how many times power went out they would get it back on. I'm a
little scared to be around Keyes but I'm sure I'll get over it. I also would
like to say I like the Tactical/Security position because I get to be right
in the

I was accepted on the Uss Dauntless by everyone. I was then put right to
work. Commander Nimitz and myself began searching for "something" that is
terrorizing the ship. We searched all over the main shuttle bay but we didn't
find any thing. The power kept going off but the crew of Dauntless kept
bringing it back. I met many intresting people too. The most intresting I
believe is Keyes. He seems to have a weird facination with phasers. I think I
caught on fast today and I want it too that way. I think I'm going to have
fun on this ship.

We still haven't found the "thing" that has been terrorizing the ship. I
suggested that maybe there is more then one "thing." I said that because that
could explain how it gets around so fast. We are now setting traps for "it."
I hope it works because this "thing" is really getting on my nerves.

rest and relax from the previous mission. Ensign Justin seems to be adjusting
to the ship well, his involvment in the previous mission seemed to break him
rather quickly but I feel as though he will make a superb addition to this
crew and the Security department. We are picking up a couple more crew
members in the security department here as well as some equipment and

successfully completing my task i began replicating food supplies for the

tropical resort setting that I came up with, which is open to the entire

that this will be visited very often by the crew.
As for ship status I hope something breaks, which I don't have to fix,
so we can stay on R&R longer.  I can't wait for the new replacements to

saw him myself, so I believe his prints are that of innocence at this time.
I ran a check on the phasers serial number to see where it had been prior to

Lieutenant Corin, myself, and the security team transported into the
Weapons Control Center of the Dauntless from the Starbase.  There we proceded
by making wiring replacements to the weapons center.  The Lieutenant and I
finished the wire replacements and will now be moving to the Navigation
Control Center.

We continued our journey to the starbase and while this was going on
the crew continued relaxing.  I was on duty till 18 hundred hours and while
at my post in Main Engineering I continued to try to locate the problem for
the shield status remaining at 84%.  I tried a number of different scans to
locate the source of the problem.  I believe the problem is on Deck 12, but I
can't be sure.

Today my Worst Case Scenario occurred.  After careful moderating of the
shield status, that wouldn't recharge past 84% for some reason, the shield
emitters erupted.  Three were saved and now the shield status is that they
are offline.  After a diagnostic i discovered that what occurred was the EPS
systems had overloaded deck by deck.  This overload wasn't large enough to
blow the EPS system up, but the overload was large enough to take out the
shield emitters.  So it did on the outer hull of the ship.  Lt. Cmdr told me
that the emitters blew up in sections.  This must be true since the EPS
systems overloaded deck by deck.  After we though the worst was over.  Decks
15 and 16 reported a major accident.  A scan showed that decks 15 and 16 had
gotten a rapid overload in the EPS systems.  The build-up occurred and the
EPS exploded in a short matter of time.  The questions that I am left with
for now and I plan on figuring out are why the overloads on Decks 15 and 16
were large enough to blow up those decks but not the other decks when the
emitters blew out.  The other question is what was the cause of all this.  I
believe from reports I have received that there was a glitch in the computer
core which started all this.  But then if that is true, why did a glitch
occur in the first place.  I do not have these answers at the time, but in
time I plan to figure them out.

I continued to run the scans to try to solve our little EPS system
problem, but before i could solve the problem the entire crew (except for
Bridge Crew) was sent to Deck 8 through 10.  Myself and engineering tired o
break out past security to get back to Main Engineering after we scanned the
main computer for errors.

Today we arrived at the starbase and were told to enter the starbase.
We did a lot of standing around.  A rather quite boring day.

From my viewpoint the starship will be ready to return to standard duty
shortly.  At least I hope so.  I heard about some bad news about the
Commander.  I wasn't told exactly what was occurring with him, but whatever
it is.  I hope its settled soon.

Today was a relaxation day.  The Dauntless was under-going some
sort of inspection, so the Captain gave most of the crew the day off from
duty.  I hope whatever this inspection is it can get us on our way soon.  I
didn't join Starfleet to sit on a starbase.  I want to explore the galaxy as
much as I possibly can.

Just a short while ago I recorded my Duty Log and in it I had mentioned
seeing as much as the galaxy as possible.  It started to make me think.  Back
when I graduated from Starfleet and was assigned to the USS Dauntless. I had
made a major goal that I would move up the ranks and be a Chief Engineer.
But as I think of it how much of the galaxy does a Chief Engineer see while
he's down in engineering.  I wonder about it.  Should I possibly go
another route and work to be a Captain? I don't have the answer to these
questions at this time, but I guess it would be helpful if I ask Commander
Nimitz about this.  After all he started his career in engineering he told
me.  Perhaps I should ask Lieutenant Commander Troutman as well.

Quite a few of the Dauntless crewmembers and myself got together on the
station's crew lounge for dinner, followed by watching Commander Nimitz trial
continue on the bridge of the Dauntless. We gathered around the viewscreen
in the lounge and began to watch the trial while I ate my favorite dessert,
Ktarian chocolate puffs. The trial began as we had thought it would have.
But then an interesting twist occurred. It turned out that the
information that Lt. Cmdr. Pixxl had for the trial, was wiped out somehow.
After he couldn't seem to find the information, I began to hear some panic
come from the Dauntless crew. I continued watching what was occurring on
the bridge, trying to block out the noise from the others. Mr. Pixxl then
dematerialized from the bridge. Word spread quickly that he went to the
computer core. That was when I became quite nervous, since I work in mainly
two
areas of the ship, Main Engineering and the Computer Core. A few minutes of
extreme nervousness and panic went on in the lounge until Lt. Cmdr Troutman
asked me to report to Transporter Room 2. Once I arrived at the Transporter
Room, we beamed out and materialized in Main Engineering where we pulled out
phasers and looked around the room. I went to work on getting power to
internal sensors and getting enough power for Level 5 forcefields around
the ship. After a great deal of power transferring, the forcefields went
into place. Then I was informed that the person we were after got away. I
couldn't seem to find Lt. Cmdr Troutman in all the panic in Main Engineering,
so I decided that I should just go ahead and add power to the sensors, thus
allowing a greater distance of scanning ability for sensors.

Lieutenant Michael Freimuth Log

Assistant Engineer's Log Stardate 71201.8
I began the day in Main Engineering running a full systems diagnotic,
making sure that the Dauntless was ready for departure from the spacestation.
The Computer Core was being restored by an engineering team that I assigned,
so i was ordered to take security protocols offline during the process. Mr.
Troutman was absent from Main Engineering when the restoring was going on.
Since the Captain, along with Commander Nimitz and Lt. Cmdr Nimitz,
were off the ship for the time being Mr. Troutman had the bridge. I received
a report of a malfuncting food replicator in the Mess Hall. A repair crew
was sent to fix it. Now that I had some free time, I decided that I would
use it by having a few drinks in the Mess Hall. Once I was seated Slobar
joined me for a drink. We talked about our current tasks in each of our
departments and as we were talking Slobar received word from the Science
Department that our Computer Core was being hacked into to. Slobar and
myself went to the turbolift and I got off in Main Engineering and attempted
to lock out our Main Computer from being hacked into. I also informed Mr.
Troutman whom was currently on the bridge of our current situation. I was
unsuccessful at locking down the computer. Now I had to locate the person or
people who hacked into our computer core and I had to find from where were
they doing this. After sending out a techyon pulse, I managed to locate the
tranlator that the low beam frequency was using. The person or people
involved were somewhere between decks 1-5. I boosted power to beyond maximum
on the internal sensors. I was able to locate organic matter on Deck 3,
Section 32. At this time Mr. Troutman had joined me in Main Engineering and
the Captain was back on the bridge. A forcefield was put inplace around
Section 32. But internal sensors detected no organic matter inside the
forcefield. It appears that the intruders left there equipment and ran.
Currently the intruders are somewhere on the ship between Decks 1-5. I am
currently in Main Engineering along with Lt. Commander Troutman working on
locating the intruders current position on the ship.
