Today I met Ens. Si4 in 10 fwd for a drink, there we were met by LtJg
Rophon who spilled his ic cream on the Ens's head.

He found a nest of space roaches under the table. After empying 10 fwd we
called for a space roach extermter, but the nearest was 3 light year away. I
capuarted one of the roaches to take back to my lab.

I left Ens. Bob in charge, and went to the medical libarly to reascarch the
bugs.

BEGIN LOG

Besides a nice work out waxing the hull of the DarkPath, and a festive little
scene of roaches in the Obsidian Lounge, and a new discovering in
interdimentional travel, nothing happened today. I began my shift waxing the
hull, under the strict advisement of Commodore Mstrad ((mostly an order)).
After I was finished, I resumed my normal duties aboard the ship, which
includes keeping track of transports on and off, and the ship itself..

We did have a good run in with Space Roaches, as Lieutenant Rophon likes to
call them. They invaded OL but have been unulled.

On a better side, sorta; Commander Hayes has informed us that she will be
extending her shoreleave to go hiking through a protected mountain range, no
outside communications allowed.... but knowing Julie, she is on a proirity
secret undercover snoop type mission... [log pause] ::shakes head: [log
resume] NAAAAAAAH!

I do miss her though, its not fun having no next door neighbor all of a
sudden, maybe when she gets back, I will ask her to dinner or something...
we'll see.

::BEGIN:::

Today was a great day. I have had Mr. Rophon add in a Sony Playstation to my
quarters. It is very fun. Young Earthboys must have longed all their lives to
get on of these! However some games more violent than others. I like one
called Battle Areana Toshendin. It is one of the more violent games and is
similar to a Romulan Tournament held on Romulus. I enjoy it. Also I have a
new romace in my life. Her name is Christie. She is very smart and pretty and
is a betzed.

ulie was about to say something but broke down laughing. "This is too weird.
Listen I'm gonna join you guys so long as I can get my own slave."
"Gaah! Dodo kan bee slav!!" He ran off again.
Julie sighed at the Namuh and looked around the holodeck; a tropical
beachfront with plenty of opportunities for fun and mischief. "Good work
guys."

Looking around, she decided she needed to change. After all, you couldn't
really get a good tan with a Starfleet Uniform on.
"Hey Shane...I'll be back in a minute. I'm gonna go change into something
more appropriate. Tell Dodo when he gets back that he is NOT, under any
circumstance, gonna be my slave!!"

Shane tried to hide a grin at that, and nodded as Julie walked off to change.
A minute later, she was back, all ready to get a nice tan.
"Hey guys...I'm back." She settled into a nice lawnchair and slipped on a
pair of sunglasses.
Dodo hurried over to her. "Gaah...Dodo no Joolie not went Dodo too be
Joolie's save...Dodo kweeat wun fur Joolie." He smiled a little.
Julie smiled a little as she started to relax. Hopefully, the namuh's idea
of what a male slave should look like would be something Julie had in mind,
as well.
"Save!!!" Dodo yelled, causing Shane and Julie both to jump a little.
Suddenly, someone appeared at Julie's chair. Starting from his feet, and
working her way up, Julie thought that finally Dodo had done something right
here...this guy was definitely...
"Oh my god..." Julie said softly when she saw his face. She wondered if
Dodo had done this on purpose, trying to be nice.
"What is it, Julie?" Shane asked, a little concerned.
"Look at his face, Shane." Julie replied, turning her attention to Dodo who
had by now turned a little less green again. He had no idea what he had
done.
"That looks like....I can't believe it..." Shane stammered a little.
"Yea...I know. It's Ozu...or at least a pretty close version of him. Dodo,
change this guy...right now." Julie said slowly, not taking her eyes off the
slave.
"Gaah....Dodo sowwy....Dodo chayng it." A few moments later, he did. The
face of Ozu was replaced with a equally handsome face with nordic features.
"Thanks, Dods...no harm done, I guess." She takes a sip of the drink her
blonde slave offers her to hide her feelings, then turns to the others with a
mischevious grin. "Well, guys, what shall we do first?"

There is such a pile of paperwork on my desk unlike any I've seen
before...even when I first took over for Ozu. :::spends a few moments
thinking about the previous XO::: Hmm...oh, yea...with so many of the senior

Julie steps into the turbolift on the station along with a fair amount of
other people. She's dressed in civilian clothes, looking forward to a
relaxing evening with an old friend. The turbolift stops and everyone surges
out onto the main corridor...Julie along with them. Heading down towards the
main lounge, she spots Doug in the same place she had accidentally "bumped"
into him earlier. He spots her at the same time and gives a little wave.

Walking over to him, she gives him a big smile. "Hey, you're not
late...that's a first..."

Doug shakes his head and grins. "Some things never change...after all these
years, you're not gonna let me forget are you? Hey, missing that transport to
the academy was the best thing that ever happened to me...you know that. I
never really wanted to be in Starfleet...that was my parents' dream, not
mine."

Julie nods knowingly and starts walking down the corridor with him towards
the restaurant where they had reservations. "How are they, anyway? I'm such
an idiot for not writing them in so long..."

"They're fine...Dad is still teaching at the University...Mom's taken up
watercolor painting...yea, they've been wondering what happened to
you...after graduation, you sort of disappeared once you entered the covert
division. Every once in a while, my dad would hear your name at
school...about your promotions...oh, and congratulations, Commander Hayes..."
Doug said with emphasis.

Julie blushed a little. "I should really write them...we haven't been to
Earth in so long...I want to go see them again...they...and you...were so
important to me when I was growing up. After mom died, your mom was so great
to me...I never really thanked her...or your dad for the way they helped my
father raise me."

They entered the restaurant. "Yea...looking at both of us...I'd say the three
of them did a pretty good job..." Doug laughed a little, leading the way to a
corner booth.

Slipping into her seat across from him, Julie laughed with him. "I'll
say...head of the terraforming project on Miranda VI. That's an incredible
project, Doug...I'm really impressed."

Doug's face turned serious. "Why don't you go ahead and ask me...let's just
get it over with."

After all these years, he still could read her thoughts as if he were
Betazoid. "Okay...so what happened?"

Doug sighed and looked at the white tablecloth, picking at it a little. "I'm
not sure...Rose and I...I don't know what happened...I was happy, I was in
love. I had no idea that she wasn't happy anymore...and one day, she just
came out with it....just like that..no warning, nothing...I was fixing
dinner, she walked in and told me that
she was seeing someone else, and she wanted to end the relationship with
me...it was the worst moment of my life. I was in shock for weeks..."

Julie reached over and gripped his hand. "I'm sorry I wasn't there, Doug...I
heard about it from Kim...I couldn't believe it...you guys had been together
for 3 years, and I had never seen a couple so perfect for each other...or so
I thought. For some reason, Rose changed, Doug...everyone said so. So don't
beat yourself up over this, alright? You've gotten on with your life, you're
a succes...you're gonna find the right woman, Doug...she's out there. I know
it."

Doug looked up. "Well, if you hadn't turned me down all those years ago..."
he said with a small grin.

Julie shook her head and smiled. "We've been through this before...my
feelings haven't changed, Doug...you're like my brother..."

Doug waved her off. He'd heard this too many times before. "I know, I
know...change of subject, okay? How are you doing?"

Personal log
Commander Julie Hayes
USS Darkpath
SD 9608.15

**Begin log**

Well, my vacation has been pretty good until yesterday. I had spent the
first week just relaxing...spending time whereever I felt like it. One day I
was in the Alaska, the next I was in Paris, the next I was hiking the
Appalachian Trail in North America. It was highly relaxing, and just what I
needed.
However, yesterday, as I was preparing to pack my things to head back to the
Darkpath, I received a message from Admiral Rollins of Starfleet Intelligence
that ordered me to report to Starfleet Headquarters immeadiately. Well, so
much for vacation. Upon my arrival, she informed me that Admiral Avilar had
requested me for a top secret mission, the nature of which was known only to
a few people. My request for more knowledge of this mission was denied. She
told me that I would learn more about it
tomorrow (which is now today) when I met with Admiral Avilar himself. Until
then, I was to inform my Captain and my crew that I wished to take another
week's leave, and to act as if I was planning on doing some excursions into
the more barren territories on Earth. I assume that is so that everyone will
think that they won't be able to get in touch with me for at least a few
days. Hopefully, my temporarly diseappearance won't be noticed.

Commander Hayes looked again at Admiral Avilar with a semi-incredulous look
on her face.

"You want me to do what, sir?"

The Admiral smiled benevolently. "It shouldn't be a problem with your
background, Commander. All you have to do is take the transport to the penal
facility on Pineas IV and identify some of the prisoners for us."

Julie tried to hide her surprise. "But Sir...shouldn't I be able to do that
from here? You should easily have visual records from which I can identify
them...who are these individuals, anyway?"

"They're Maqui terrorists...supposedly people with whom you have worked with
in the past. The reason why we don't have visual pictures of them is that
there's some sort of subspace anomaly that's disrupting our subspace signals
to and from the planet. These prisoners were captured only two days ago, and
we need to identify them quickly so that we can get them out of there. As
you know, Commander, Pineas IV is extremely close to the badlands. We don't
want to leave them there for long." Avilar leaned
back in his chair to observe her reaction.

Julie breathed carefully. Something didn't seem right here. She couldn't
put a finger on it, but she knew she couldn't very well refuse to go on this
mission...if you could even call it a mission. "Very well, sir...I'll leave
on the first transport." She got up to leave.

"One more thing, Commander...you'll be bringing certain prisoners back with
you. Make sure you take proper precautions..."

Julie nodded. "Yes, sir..."

"Sir, we're entering the Pineas system. It'll be a few minutes before we'll
be ready to transport you down to the prison, though."

Julie tapped her comm badge. "Thank you, Lt. I'll be ready." She
double-checked her uniform once more. She had removed a couple of her pips,
making herself look like a Lieutenant, rather than a Commander. No sense
making herself a better target for anyone who might have aspirations of
killing a high-ranking officer. Not that she was supposed to be in
danger...but things happen in prisons...even in maximum security prisons like
this one. She stood up and headed over to the transporter pad. A few
moments later, the pilot signaled back that they were in transporter range.
She stepped up on the pad and activated the transporter. A few moments
later, she found herself standing in the large courtyard outside the prison.
A level 12 force field prevented anything from beaming into the prison
directly...she'd have to be checked out first.
After speaking with the guards at the gate, and suffering through a retinal
scan and a detailed conversations containing various code words she had been
given by the Admiral, she was allowed inside. Walking towards the Warden's
office, she was surprised at the quietness of the place. She saw no
prisoners, only the occasional guard. Arriving at the Warden's door, she
knocked once.

"Come in..." she heard a deep voice bellow.

Entering, she walked over to meet the tall, robust man who had stood up upon
her entrance. "Hello, Commander Handcuff....I'm Commander Hayes."

The dark-haired man shook her hand gruffly. "Yes, I know who you
are...Admiral Avilar sent me all the pertinent information."

"I'm sorry...perhaps I'm cofused...the Admiral told me that you were having
difficulty sending and receiving messages...some sort of subspace anomaly, I
believe." Julie looked calm, but inside she was become more apprehensive
about the situation. Orders or not, she would have liked to have told Mstrad
about where she would be...backup would be a very nice thing to have in this
sort of situation.

Handcuff smiled a little. "Honestly, Commander, the reason why we're having
trouble is because we've been having some trouble with our internal security.
Someone has been listening in on our communiques for the last couple of
months. We've been attempting to figure out who's doing it, but so far we've
had no luck. The thing is, had we sent out a detailed list of who was here,
along with visual records, we would have had big problems. You see,
Commander, while the prisoners are here, we can make sure
they stay incarcerated...but the moment they get outside the prison walls,
it's not nearly as difficult for someone to take that opportunity to kill
them, rescue them...whatever. The prisoners in question are very important
members of the Maquis, Commander...as least we believe so. There are no
visual records of them, only physical descriptions. You were supposed to
have seen these individuals during your time as an undercover operative for
Starfleet in the Maquis. If they're who we think they are,
then you should be able to identify them. That's the easy part...the hard
part will be getting them back to Earth...as long as we keep it a secret that
we have them, then hopefully you'll be able to make it back with no
problem..."

Julie took a deep breath. "But if someone has found out they're here...we
could have the whole Maquis fleet on our tails. I understand...let's get
this over with." She stood up. "One thing, Commander...call me a Lt.,
alright? I don't want anyone, including warders, to learn any more info than
they absolutely need to know."

Hancuff nodded as he rose, slipping on a dark jacket. "I understand...let's
get started."

Julie headed down the last row of cells, looking into each one, examining the
individuals inside, making notations on her padd. The warden, Commander
Handcuff walked beside her, making small talk with the prisoners...that is,
those that would talk. There weren't many of them. They arrived at the end
of the row.

"Well, Commander, I have positively identified 7 indivuals...is that
everyone?" Julie looked up at him.

Handcuff shook his head. "No, actually, we had a few new arrivals this
morning that we haven't been able to identify yet. We can see those next."
He led the way down the corridor to another block of cells.

Julie followed behind, reviewing the information on the padd she held. The
seven people she had identified were high-ranking individuals indeed. There
were three members of the Maquis Central Command here, as well as two
Captains. The other two individuals were all highly experienced Maquis
officers. However, she knew now why she had been sent...they were all
ex-Starfleet Officers...the very people she was supposed to root out and
identify when she was a spy in the Maquis all those years ago. Their
names and all that information was lost when Julie had arrived back at the
academy after that mission. Upon her learning that the very Starfleet
Intelligence Officers that had sent her on this mission had died while she
was gone left her with no choice. She had been instructed by them to destroy
any info she gathered if she could not report directly to them. That kind of
informatinon in the wrong hands could be very dangerous. So she had destroyed
the list...then, only 7 months ago, Starfleet
Intelligence had learned of her secret mission through the work of Commander
Ozu, an officer who later would become the Darkpath's First Officer before he
suddenly went AWOL a few months later. He had been able to discern the truth
and had helped to smooth the waters at Starfleet Intelligence for her. There
were more than a few Admirals who were greatly upset with her for not coming
forward with that information earlier. They thought of the Maquis as
terrorists and the Starflleet Officers who joined
them as traitors. They wanted very badly to get some of these officers back
and put them on trial. Now, she hoped that she could redeem herself a little
and finish the job she had started all those years before.

Handcuff and her arrived at the last row of cells and began to walk down
them. She didn't recognize the first two, but coming to the last cell, she
looked inside and suddenly felt her heart leap into her throat. Barely
believing what she saw, she took another step forward and peered intently at
the figure laying on the cot.

"Commander...I would like to speak with this prisoner alone." Julie said
quietly. At the sound of her voice, the cell's occupant snapped his head up
and looked in her direction. She returned his gaze. "I'm also going to set up
a portable scrambling device so that your security monitoring equipment won't
be able to pick up anything I say." She pulled a small device out of the
small case she had been carrying around. The warden looked a moment as if he
was going to argue with her, but he instead looked
curiously at the prisoner in the cell, then walked back down to the end of
the cell block to wait for her.

After setting the scrambling unit on the floor and making sure it was working
properly, Julie pulled out a tricorder to make sure all monitoring equipment
had been rendered useless. Once she was assured of this, she put the
tricorder back in her case and turned to the prisoner who by this time was
standing just on the other side of the high level forcefield that kept him
in. Julie smiled a little and tried to breathe evenly as she once again
stared into his face.

"Hello Ozu..."

"Hello Ozu..."

Ozu smiled a little as he looked her over. She hadn't changed a bit in the
six months since he had last seen her. "Hello Julie..."

"It's been a long time...I see you've been busy." Julie said, indicating the
cell.

Ozu's smile diseappeared a little. "I'm just trying to make a living,
Julie...I was caught smuggling weapons to the colonists on Aldar Prime."

"Aldar Prime??!! That's smack dab in the middle of the demilitarized
zone...they're nothing but farmers and merchants...they're going to get
slaughtered by the Cardassians if they try anything. Ozu, I can't believe
this!!" Julie said in disbelief.

"Hey, for months now they HAVE been getting slaughtered by Cardassians...a
contanct of mine told me that they were looking for someone to help teach
them how to fight. They felt that at least if they were going to die, they'd
go down fighting...I've been there off and on for the last couple of months,
training them, teaching them...I'd been smuggling all kinds of weapons onto
the planet for some time. I guess that I was lucky that a Federation ship
caught me and not Cardassians." Ozu said.

Julie narrowed her eyes a little. "Perhaps not so lucky, Ozu...you know I"m
going to have to take you back to Earth for your court martial. You've been
absent without leave for over 6 months. You're going to end up in prison for
a good amount of the rest of your life." She had a hard time saying those
words, but they were the truth. She had to take him back with her.

To her surprise, Ozu smiled at those words. "No, I am lucky...I got to see
you again. Julie....I'm so sorry about what I did...leaving like that. In a
million years, I never wanted to hurt you, you have to believe that!"

Julie looked down at the floor. "I know you didn't mean to, Ozu...but it hurt
nonetheless. You didn't even leave a goodbye note or anything. It took a
long time for me to get over that...a long time."

"But you did...Julie I have to ask you...do you still love me?" Ozu asked a
little hopefully. It wasn't as if they were ever going to have a future
together. He knew that, not after what he had done. But to know that she
still loved him, in some way, would make living the rest of his life in
prison somewhat bearable.

Swallowing hard, Julie continued to stare at the floor for a moment. She
didn't know what she felt. After months of worrying about him and wondering
where he was, to suddenly show up in her life like this...she was somewhat
confused, and she didn't need that right now. She had to complete the
mission.

"Commander Handcuff!" she called down the corridor as she switched off the
scrambling unit and placed it back in her case. Ozu, realizing that she
wasn't going to answer him, sat down on a chair and continued looking at her.

Handcuff came walking back down the corridor. "Have you finished?"

"Yes...I'd like the seven Maquis prisoners and this prisoner transported up
to the ship immeadiately. We're going to get under away as soon as they're
aboard." Julie informed him. Handcuff nodded and headed back to the main
processing office to make the arrangements. Julie turned back to look at Ozu
again. For a moment, their eyes met and they both saw the sadness that
lingered in there. Then, without a word, Julie turned around and walked off
in the direction the warden had taken.

"Ready to lift off, sir..." The pilot's voice reverberated around the large
cargo hold of the transport ship.

Julie tapped her comm badge. "Let's get going...go to warp as soon as we're
clear of the atmosphere." She looked around the hold, which had been
converted into a prison transport vessel. Each seat was at least 7 feet away
from the next, with each prisoner held in his or her respective seat by an
impressive display of the latest restraining devices. Julie manned the
controls at the head of the room, if you could call it that. She was
seperated from the rest of the prisoners by a high level force
field, but she had the power to release each prisoner one at a time, or all
at once. She felt the ship left off and it rumbled slightly as it made its
way up into the atmosphere.
After several seconds, the buffeting decreased until the ship was once again
moving smoothly. She waited for the jump to warp, but nothing happened. All
of a sudden, the pilot's voice came over the intercom.

"Uh...sir, you'd better get up here. We have a problem."

Julie frowned and headed to the front of the ship. Entering the front cabin,
she recognized the familar image of two Cardassian war vesself directly in
their path.
"What do they want?" she asked the pilot.

"They demanded the Maquis prisoners we have on board...I don't know how they
found out, sir..." the pilot began. Julie waved him off.

"It's too late to worry about that now...obviously our secret is out. Well,
we obviously can't outrun them, and we outmatched in our weapons and shield
capability...well, let's see if a diplomatic solution will work. Open a
channel, audio only." Julie ordered. A moment later, the channel was open.

"Cardassian Vessel, this is Commander Julie Hayes of the United Space
Federation...who am I speaking to?"

The Cardassians returned the hail. A man's voice answered. "This is Gul
Makar of the Cardassian Warship Trugar...we demand that you return the Maquis
murderers to us, Commander...this is not an Starfleet matter."

"Yes, it is, Gul...the prisoners on board have all commited crimes in
Federation territory, and as such, they will be tried in a Federation court.
I invite you to allow us to pass..." She looked at the pilot and shrugged her
shoulders. Maybe that wasn't exactly true, but she had been ordered to bring
these prisoners back with her, and that's what she intended to do.

The Cardassian was silent for a moment. "I can see that you are not going to
cooperate with us. Very well, we'll have to do this the hard way. Remember
this, Commander, I gave you a choice. Makar out."

"Sir, they've powered up their weapons...they're preparing to fire." The
pilot said a little nervously.

"Well, we're not going to go down without a fight! Power up the phasers and
photon launchers...divert all power from secondary systems to the shields."
Julie said as she strapped herself into the co-pilot's chair. "Let's kick
some butt!" Her words were more confident that she felt...the fight itself
would only last maybe 5 minutes. The conclusion was inevitable, but she
wasn't going to accept that right now. If she had to die, then so be
it...she could think of worse ways to die...

Julie stiffened in her chair slightly then relaxed. Her fingers flew over
her console in her attempt to divert all power to the shields. Any moment
now, the Cardassians would beging firing. For a moment, her mind wandered to
wondering about the safety of her prisoners in the back of the ship,
especially one tall, bald, Kriosian prisoner in particular. She shook her
head. She couldn't worry about them right now.

"We're all set, sir...do you want to fire?" The pilot asked.

"No...I want them to make the first move..." Julie started to say, then
suddenly the Cardassians powered up their weapons and fired the first volley.
The transport shuddered and rocked as it absorbed the first hit. "Damage
report!" Julie snapped.

The pilot checked his console. "Minor damage to the secondary hull, port
side. Shields at 75%."

Julie grit her teeth. "Let's see what kind of damage we can do...firing
photon torpedos." They watched as the first volley of torpedoes impacted on
the shields of the Cardassian ship with virtually no damage. "Stupid potato
launchers!!!" Julie yelled in frustration. "We might as well throw rocks at
them...we aren't going to be able to do anything..."

The Cardassians launched another volley of their own, which once again hit
the transport dead on, this time having more effect. This time, a console
erupted in the front cabin, knocking the pilot to the ground, and throwing
Julie against the wall. She struggled over to the pilot, checking his vital
signs. There were none. Not even pausing a moment, she left the dead pilot
and got back in her chair. Shields were almost gone...weapons and engines
were off-line...life-support was failing...it was only a
matter of time. Suddenly, another blast from the Cardassians took the
shields out completely and left them totally defenseless.
Julie knew that this was the end. Any moment now, she'd get transported over
to the Cardassian ship for "interrogation." However, that wasn't to be...a
large bolt of light appeared just over the top of the transport, striking the
Cardassian ship, causing it to lurch a little.
"Whoever that was...thank you." Julie murmured as she attempted to get
engines back on-line. She had to get out of there...but everything was dead.
She yanked off a access panel and started working on the engineering
circuitry leading to the helm controls. "Dangit...why didn't I pay more
attention to what Mikey was doing..." she said as she struggled with the
wires.

"You were too busy drinking hot chocolate, that's why...." she heard a
familar voice say behind her.

"Ozu!! What are you doing here??" Julie exclaimed, but continued to work on
the panel.

"One of the blasts must have taken out the restraining devices...we're all
free, but I'm the only one left here. When the shields went down, a member
of the Maquis beamed in and took everyone away." Ozu said as he walked over
to the co-pilot's console to check on their status.

"Great...so much for this mission...why didn't you leave? Staying here will
only get you killed..." Julie replied as she worked.

"I had to make sure you were alright...and I figured you'd need some help. I
was right, too...but it looks like now, those Cardassian devils have enough
problems...those two Maquis ships are giving them fits, but they're sure to
call in reinforcements." Ozu said as he looked at the viewscreen, which
seemed to be one of the things that still worked.

Julie looked over at him a moment. He had always put his needs second to
hers. No one had ever cared for her quite the way that Ozu had...or did.
"You'd better see about getting the shields back up."

Ozu nodded silently and got to work.

With the battle between the Cardassians and the Maquis raging in the
background, Julie worked feverishly in the front cabin of the transport ship
to reestablish helm control. After a good 15 minutes of work, she had it
back up and functioning normally again.

Ozu ran into the cabin. "I've got the warp drive up and running again. You've
got warp 2."

Julie nodded. "That will get me to Starbase 145. Now...you have to go."

Ozu looked at her in surprise. "What?"

"You have to go....you're not going to come with me." Julie said firmly. She
wasn't going to doom him to live in prison for the rest of his life. He was
too good of a man for that. "I sent a message to the maquis ship...they're
expecting you to beam over in exactly two minutes. They will return you to
Aldar prime to continue your work...apparently, you're well-known by the
Maquis."

Ozu looked at Julie and shook his head slowly. He shouldn't really have been
surprised, but he was. "Julie...I...I..." He was at a loss for words.

Suddenly overcome by her emotions, Julie stepped forward and threw her arms
around him. They hugged for a long moment and then Ozu gently kissed her on
the forehead. With tears in her eyes, Julie looked up at him.

"I never stopped loving you...not for one moment" she whispered.

He nodded once. "I know..." He then kissed her gently one last time and
walked to the transporter pad in the back of the cabin. "Goodbye,
Julie...maybe in the next life..." he smiled sadly and wistfully.

Julie smiled back at him. "Maybe..." She reached over and activated the
transporter. "Goodbye, Ozu" she said at the bald Kriosian who stood there
looking so forlornly at her. A moment later, he dematerialized into nothing
and was gone.

Two days later....

"And then once the Maquis had beamed everyone aboard to their ship, you were
able to fix the engines and proceed to Starbase 145. Is that correct?"
Admiral Avilar questioned her.

Julie nodded. "Yes, sir."

They were sitting back in his office at Starfleet Headquarters on Earth. She
was due to report back to the Darkpath in a few hours. Her debriefing here
was almost over. She still had to go pick Joah up from the camp he had spent
the last week at before she headed back to the ship.

"Is there anything else you'd like to add? Something perhaps you've left out
of your report?" Avilar looked at her.

"No, sir...it's all in there. I've told you everything." Well, actually, she
hadn't. Her report had detailed how all eight of the Maquis prisoners had
been transported off the ship...she hadn't mentioned anything about her
arranging for Ozu to beam off the ship. That alone would cost her her
commission. "Are we through, sir? I've got to get back to my ship."

The Admiral hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, Commander...maybe this
mission wasn't a complete success, but it did enable us to learn the identity
of the individual who was passing information along to the Cardassians and
Maquis about the prison. Rest assured that that individual has been taken
care of, and there are now no security leaks at the Pineas IV facility."

"That's good to hear, sir." Julie said.

"Well, Commander...you're free to leave. I'm sorry your vacation couldn't
have been more pleasant, but that's the life of a Starfleet Officer." Avilar
says as he stands to shake her hand.

"That's alright, sir..." Julie said as she shook his hand in return.
"Goodbye, Admiral." Walking out of his office, she breathes a sigh of relief
that he hadn't probed harder into her report. For now, she'd be happy to
just get back to the Darkpath and resume her post of first officer. It had
been a long two weeks.

The End...finally!! <g>

Julie steps up to the transporter pad. After checking that the coordinates
were correct, she looked down beside her.

"Ready to go home, Joah?"

The small child nodded and, after letting go of her hand, stepped onto the
first transporter pad. Julie stepped onto a padd beside him and nodded to
the transportation officer. A few moments later the transporter activated,
and a few seconds after that, they were back home.

"Welcome home Joah...Julie..." Commodore Mstrad said, a big smile on her
face. It had only been two weeks, but it had seemed longer.

Joah smiled and looked around. "Hi Aunt Dar..."

"It's good to be home.." Julie replied. "Joah here had quite a fun
vacation...exciting, too. Tell her all about it, Joah."

"Oh, I got to go swimming in the ocean, and we went camping....and
fishing...and we rode horses...and I saw a whale..." Joah says animatedly.

Dar smiled as she walked with them out into the corridor. "Sounds like you
had a lot of fun, Joah...what did you do, Julie?"

Julie thought a moment. "Hiking, mountain climbing...the usual...nothing much
happened." She had to keep that secret to herself. Admiral's orders,
although she didn't like it.

"Good...but now that you're back, we've got a lot to catch up on. There have
been some personnel changes...and departmental changes. Why don't you meet
me in my ready room in 15 minutes to discuss them?"

"Sounds great, sir...I'll be there." Julie replied.

Sitting at his work station in his quarters, Shane was going over the new
dynamic endermal healing device constructed by the Science Department.
Running every diagnostic and simulation possible to prove that the device was
safe for people. And with every diagnostic and simulatoin the computer would
respond with positive results. Now it was time to go over the plans of the

memorized every major, minor and pitiful wire and

"Computer, please note, that as of 2200 hours, I First Lieutenant Shane

As of this stardate the Security and Tactical merge stands as this:
Three officers are in the department; Myself, First Lieutenant Shane Booker
Ensign Tuvok, and Lieutenant M La.
The main Tactical station and the main Security station have been converted
into the secondary terminals. The before hand secondary terminal of Security
and Tactical has been converted into the main terminal.
Lieutenat M La, will usually be stationed at sec/tac 2, with Ensign Tuvok and
sec/tac 3. Each on either side of sec/tac main, where I am stationed. In
case I have to leave the bridge of the station, Lieutenant M La, will take
sec/tac main, and Ensign Tuvok can remain at sec/tac 3; because the two
auxillary stations are now identical, to prevent confusion.

What a day, finally reaching the elusive Starbase 214, and departing with the
supplies we get into a battle with an unknown ship. It is unknown to me why
they attacked us; Did we provoke them? Were we in "their space"? It might
even be simplier than that.. Maybe that anomaly of thiers brought them to
this sector without them knowing it, and they thought they were still in
thiers... I dont know, being the Security Chief I have to go through every
possible solution so I can most accurately help Mstrad
make her decision during the breifing. La and I are going to work with
Science to work this thing out. Hopefully we will find an answer.

Julie and I had a great dinner last night, she talked about her vacation. We
talked about Tactical and Security more in depth and about the two new
officers.

How Should I teach them what they need to know? Should I let them take the
station for a day and "grade" them and tell them what to work on and remain
the same? We'll see how it progresses.

I hope Julie and I can continue to dine together, she is so uplifting and is

Today I had a a tough time recalibrating the helm controls from the beating
the Darkpath took. We where beat pretty bad by an alien ship. The helm is
totally off-line, the only thing I can do is go maunuvering thrusters and
that's only 90 miles per second. I can't belive the power in that alien ship.
I mean a Warbird if in a fight with it would last what::thinks a bit:: a few
minutes? We where almost destroyed! This ship is huge and isn't slow and
packs a helluva punch. We where decimated! I don't even
think the Borg could destroy them easialy. I seriosly hope we do not
encounter them again. I am currently studying with what's left of the sensors
the alien distruptor/phaser burns to see if we may use any aspects to our own
weapons. This will take some time and I have had alot of that on my hands
right now.

I took a trip to Enginering to day to see if I could help any. The place
looks like hell. We have people running around all over the place and plasma
wielder strewn about counsoles and PADDS all over the floor, people almost
about to be pressed in to the dilitium chamber by the sheer amount of people.
I managed to get a hold of a PADD with all the information on damage control
for the helm controls::lifts PADD slitly, then takes a sarcastic tone:: I'll
have a fun day with repairs!

it wouldn't surprise me if the Borg, Klingons, Romulans, and Terrans canceled
eachother out of existence altogether. Hopefully, we wont meet any future

I wouldn't wanna go through a bidermal memory eraser process, it could be

Ensign Hawki did an acceptual job on his first day of officer service, but I
think he thinks he joined the DP at the wrong time, or the wrong ship... But

"I have him sedated at the moment, but if you want, you can talk to him."
"Thank you, Doctor."
"Mmm-hm. If you need me I'll be in my office, sir." Humm....swish-swoosh.

It was at that moment that Lt. Cmdr. Cean Dodo could no longer hear
Commander Julie Hayes, or Doctor Richard Ironside. Not even Ensign Till,
who's reknown loud voice was audible to the Namuh's ears. Everything was a
blobbish, grey shade right now to Dodo. Not good.
Commander Hayes looked concerned at the officer. "What a mess." she said
to herself. Julie looked around the Sickbay, which was occupied far more than
by herself and Dodo. "Dammit, Cean! You had to lose it! Right here, right
now! Right when-" Hayes suddenly caught herself before she woke up a patient,
or attracted the Doctor's attention. "Oh god, what am I saying??" she said,
shocked. The commander looked at the sleeping Namuh. Suddenly becoming very
sick at herself. "I'm sorry, Dodo. I didn't mean
to.."
Then her commbadge chirped, startling her briefly. Sickbay was so quiet and
peaceful..."Mstrad to Hayes." came the voice of the Commodore.
"Yes sir?" she responded.
"I need that report on the replicator rations once you get it, Commander."
Mstrad said over the badge. Julie frowned slightly wondering why the
Commodore would pang over the commsystem about something like food.
"Aye sir." Julie said. She looked back at Dodo, sighed, and left Sickbay.

Hungry, bored, and wishing he had more toys was Joah Knight. Adopted
nephew of Commodore Dar Esh Mstrad, and lonely orphan. But not so
lonely...Joah petted carefully Dodo's pet lizard, Gaah. The reptillian
mischief maker had been found scruyying about the damaged corridors when
Chief Hamton had nearly stepped on him. Not a good thing, considering Hamton
was allergic to reptile skin.
Gaah made a pathetic grunting noise and adjusted his position in Joah's
arms. The two looked miserable.
"Can I go now, Aunt Dar?" Joah said, eager to play in the holodecks.
"Joah," Mstrad turned from her padds to the small boy. "where are going to
go? You know the ship is damaged."
"I thought Dodo fixed it." he whined.
Mstrad gave her most sympathetic look at the boy. "It's still dangerous
out there, Joah. I want you to stay with me here...are you still hungry?"
"Yes, I'm hungry! All I had was a green replicator thing! And Gaah's hungry
too, see??" Joah lifted his arms and showed the fatigued lizard to Mstrad.
Dar tried to look at the pet with understanding. "Yes, Joah..."
The two grumbled.
Mstrad took a breath and shook her head. She leaned an elbow on her
scratched desk, trying to think. She was having too much on her hands
now...why did she want Joah with her while she worked? Oh, that's
right..because Dodo was in Sickbay..and Kitt wasn't too good a babysitter,
she wouldn't dare have her XO try and work the load, and she jusr didn't
trust anyone else. In addition to that problem was the ship; the warp engines
were out, the chamber needed to be rebuilt, half the officers were injured or
dead, the replicators were down, and there was a gross metal smell
everywhere you went. Arrrrgh....
"Okay, Joah...do you want to visit Dodo in Sickba-" Mstrad caught herself
before she completed the sentence. She couldn't let Joah in Sickbay! Not with
all those patients! It would emotionally scar the boy. Or at least the
lizard.
But Joah had already caught on. "Yeah! I think Gaah would like that too!"
the boy stood up enthusiastically. Even Gaah seemed to brighten a little.
Oh boy..Mstrad thought.

I'm a rug of fur. So, how's life?"
"Dodo? Where's Aunt Dar?"

"GAAAH!" Cean Dodo flew out of his biobed covered in sweat, trying to
flee from something...but hit the restraining field with a loud *Pa-thwack*.
"Commander! Are you allright?" Doctor Ironside came rushing out of his
office.
Cean looked around groggily, trying to push away the imense headache he
had.."Gaah...Dodo ez oh-kaa..."
"No you're not, sir. According to this you've got a massive headache.."
Richard turned from the bio-diagnostics monitor to a medical tray. He quickly
prepared a hypospray and disabled the forcefield to give Dodo a shot of
relaxant.
He tried to resist, but was too weak. Dodo mumbled some odd Namuh
wordings that the Doctor didn't quite catch. "Just rest, sir. That's

He was asleep.

I was anxious to get started on those solar absorbers, and we
finally did today. Later on with this alien thing, we were tractor beamed and
I had the satisfaction of finding a weak spot that all of a sudden bridge a
300 year gap in tactical offense/defense. Oh yeah, Marus is being captured
and hopefully won't get killed AGAIN.

I found Iggy he was hiding under my computer table(maybe I should take him to

DoDo is still in SB, and I am still keeping him under obersation.

Julie came today looking very tired, she seem very confused. I give
her a couple of sleeping pills. At first I thought it had someting to with
the area of space, but upon exaiming her medical record I have diganosed it a
flare up of Yaboobian Virus. At this time in my opion she is unfit for duty,

Well, some pluses, some minuses concerning today's activities. We finally
got the panels on the hull, even though we only got 3 of the expected 6, we
are still getting a enormouse increase in our power supply. If we can get
the other 3 on, our expected increase will double. Though we are getting a
huge power increase, it shouldn't be long now and then we will be able to
reinstate all battle-ready systems, and non battle systems like the holodeck,
which everybody needs.. But if we could engage the
cloak, our problems might be over with that. But is it that easy? There is
only one way to find out..
I dont know how to feel about the present moral situation on the ship. When
Greg and I were installing the panels, Julie attempted a mutiny and relieved
the commodore of her duties. But sense Mstrad was not confined to her
quarters, nor the brig, I cannot make a decision to which side I am going to
stand on. The commodore made the best decision she knew how, which might
have endangered the crew; but she did what needed to be done staying behind
the moon, instead of fleeing, allowing the panels to be
installed was probably the best choice. With the power flux, we were able
to easily defeat the aggressors, and will soon be able to get all systems
online. Proof of that is: less than two hours from the time I evacuated
decks 7 - 11 today, for battle power, they were back online and readmitted
for civilian and crew use. If this is a sample of what the power will do for
us, then we are all set.

Lieutenant's La, Stern, and Booker were interacting on the bridge, at the aft
science and tacticle stations. Going over the final results of the last
solar period, with all 6 panels in place. Making sure enough power was
getting through the transformation stage, which turned the solar energy into
electrical energy which would be dispearsed 100% into the systems by
priority.
"Great!" Shane exclaimed, happy with the results of the modifacations,
noticing Cean Dodo, and Julie Hayes turn. He turned to her, and walked down
to her, I level with her and Dodo. "Commander, permission to leave the
bridge and tell the commodore of our progress? The lieutenant asked. Hayes
was just about to answer when the commodore's voice came over the comm
system.
"Lieutenant Booker please report to sickbay, I wish to speak to you."
Shane recognized the voice and acknowledged the call, smiling at Julie as he
turned to the turbo lift. Dodo got up out of his seat, walked to Julie in
the captain's chair, handed her a PADD with a grin on his face. Julie looked
up as she took the PADD, knowing what Dodo was thinking.
"No, he's not pshycic Dodo, it was just a coinsidence." Seeing his
expression she added. "But maybe I am." She grinned.
"Dodo ho'pe nut, then Dodo ee in bigg troubble." He stated, with a huge
numah grin.

Shane entered sickbay, seeing the commodore sitting on a biobed, with Doctor
Ironsides at her side, who was very closely, attending to her follow up
condition.
"Brown-nosing for your next promotion doctor?" Shane asking with a playful
smile.
"Absolutely sir." Iron stated, with even a more so humorous attitude. He
turned his attention back to the commodore, wiping his grin off his face.
"You will be fine, sir. You are free to leave. Iron said, seriously and
professionally.
"Great lieutenant, thank you. Now, if you'll excuse us I have to talk to Mr.
Booker." Mstrad said, trying not to be rude.
"Sure." Iron said, turning for his office, not affended. Shane handed the
commodore the PADD containing all the progress of the ship's repairs. Not
even eyeing it, Mstrad put it down on the biobed next to her. She took a
breath, putting a hand on her head, massaging it for just a couple of
seconds.
"Lieutenant." Mstrad started and then continued after another breath.
"I am disapointed in what I have heard from Commander Hayes concerning your
actions during the period inwhich I was rendered unconscious. She told me
that you told Taj to plot a course to the sun, after she had told him to flee
from the advancing ship, which is now destroyed. The sun was in the direct
opposite course inwhich she had ordered the ship to go." She stopped for a
breath.
"Sir. I told him to...." but before he could finish his sentence, he was
interupted by the commodore.
"I know you told him to head for the suns path, if possible." She said
effasizing 'if possible'. "That is not what I am saying.. You gave him
another order to worry about. At that point in time, his only concern should
have been to get the ship to safety, not to get into the path of the suns
rays as well." She paused again to get a breath. "Is that understood? I am
aware of the neccesity of getting power, but not in the middle of a situation
as tense as that. All of the crew, as you know, are under
a lot of stress with this situation. And we do not need to put them under
any undue, or unneccessary pressure. Is that understood?" She stated and
asked very sturdily.
"Yes sir, very clear sir." Shane answered, getting weary and dazed.
"Good." Mstrad said. "Now, breif me on the situation." She added, picking
up the PADD.

<<"Now, breif me on the situation." She added, picking up the PADD.>>

Mstrad noticed the lieutenant's discomfort, but decided to let it pass.
"Probably just fatigue and over stress, atleast I hope its just that." She
thought to herself, continuing to inspect the PADD's data.
"Good job Mr. Booker. Keep it up. I would like to see more energy put into
sickbay though; we need everyone to be at their optimum preformance level.
Understood?" She asked.
"Yes sir." Shane said, holding his head in pain. The commodore, again
noticing his discomfort, noticed it was getting serious.
"Lieutenant, whats wrong?" She asked with impatientness and concern.
It was getting worse, he began to buckle, his knees giving way. He fell to
his knees with a jolt that could be heard all over the deck. Doctor
Ironsides rushed over from across SickBay, with a hypo in his hand. He
positioned the hypospray at Shane's neck, giving it the best chance to go
into his blood stream.
"Don't bother doctor, it won't help." Booker said, pushing the hypo away
from his neck. Iron looked to Mstrad for conformation, she nodded.
The commodore just looked blankly at the doctor, knowing that Shane was
right, but didnt know what to do otherwise.
"Sir, he is in bad condition, we need to.." But before Iron could complete
his explanation, he was interrupted.
"All I need is some water, and some of those pills that I got from you last
week." Booker explained gulping and gasping in pain, knowing that it was
not true, but couldnt say anything else. Ironsides got up, went to the
narcotics cabinet and got the pills similar to what the kryptonian picked up
several days ago. Iron hurried over to Shane, with the requested materials,
put the pills in the water and put the glass to his mouth. Shane drank the
water, allowing the nutrient-rich water to pass through
into his body.
"Put him onto that biobed." Ironsides instructed his assitants, helping out
he knelt down, picked up Shane's head, an assitant at his feet, and two other
medical technicians on each side lifting, struggling to put the kryptonian on
the bed. With struggle, they managed to get the lieutenant on the bed, and
attached to a bioreader. Ironsides watched the readings, confounded in what
he saw, he asked for conformation.
"Doctor. Look at this; its simply out of the ordinary. I have never seen
life signs like this before. Extremely eradic and highly irregular for a
state in which he is in." An assitant explained. The scanner said that the
signs of the sick lieutenant were below human normal conditions, alright, but
very above the expected result of the scene. In fact, the sickened officer's
signs were about at the rate that a normal human would have if they had
pnuemonia, slow heart rate and everything, but very
strong for the situation. The doctor took one step back if not five.
"What is this?" He asked with extrodinary disbelief. A normal kryptonian's
life signs are much higher than a healthy human, so when he sickened, Shane's
signs, dropped enourmously, but they didnt fall as much as the doctor thought
they should have had, because Ironsides didnt know that Shane wasnt human.
The commodore had a good idea that this was the case, so she excused it as a
computer error, to protect the unhealthy officer. For it was very important
to him that his identity remain a secret, and
she respected his wishes. Shane lifted his head to speak.
"Thank you." He thanked looking at the commodore, then turning his head.
"I will be alright now. All I need to do is get some sleep and I should be
allright." He explained to the doctor. Turning her attention to the medical
assistants Mstrad said, "Please leave us." The assistants did as ordered,
leaving the commodore, Ironsides and Booker alone. Mstrad then turned back
to Shane, not smiling in the least, in fact she was very serious and
intensely focused.

<<Mstrad turned to Shane, very seriously and intensly.>>

"For violating a direct order from Comander Hayes, you are hearby confined to
Sickbay, until Doctor Ironsides sees fit to release you." She ordered.
"Which will be?" She asked turning to Iron.
"At this rate, not more than a few hours." The doctor stated, examining his
compiled data in confusion.
"Very well, then you are to be confined to your quarters, until your shift
starts, tomorrow. Is that clear?" She stated, ordering and confirming at
the same time.
"Yes sir, very well sir." Shane mumbled, trying to get it out, still in bad
shape for his species.
"Just wait 'til Julie hears about this, she'll tear you apart, limb from
limb.. " Mstrad mused, not to humerously.
"Wait commodore, please, no." He wined. He did not want Julie to know about
this. It would one thing if he had simply tested himself, to test his
limits, but he was ordered by Hayes not to push himself too hard, and to
sleep every night and eat everyday; which he had not done. Julie took her
orders very seriously, and expected them to be followed, unless extremely
impossible by the indented doer. He had disobeyed a direct order from his
commander and friend now she was going to kill him, or close
to it. Shane trying to sit up, mustering all his energy, begging to his
CO.
"Sir, please." The lieutenant begged.
"Very well Mr. Booker." Dar stated agreeing that her telling Julie might be
unfair to him, he deserved worse punishment
"Then you may tell her why you did not finish your duties today, and why
you've confined to your quarters." She grinned. Shane swallowed, hard.
"Great, now I'm really dead." He said, condeming himself. Mstrad let down
her smile, and turned to the doctor.
"You did say I could be released, correct?" She asked, confiriming her
thoughts.
"Yes I did, you are getting increasingly back to health, your life signs are
nearly at Kriosan norm.
"Thank you doctor, I very sincerely appreciate it." Mstrad thanked, getting
up from the bed. She smiled and nodded in Booker's way, and headed out for
the corridor, grabbing the PADD Shane brought down.

Lt. Commander Cean Dodo thought he smelled something.
A incensic, thick smell. Something that reminded him of ripened bananas
and Namuhnian joofl'ez...so it wasn't too bad an odor. In fact, it was sort
of pleasing.
The big problem however, about the scent Dodo was sensing, was that it was
coming directly from his console.
"Gaah?" the Namuh said, curious. He had just let a diagnostic run and was
waiting for the results. This wasn't what he expected at all.
Dodo blinked, furrowed his brow, and ducked under the operations console
for the umpteenth time. The smell was stronger under here.
Commander Hayes was observing her operations officer musingly, wondering
what the Namuh had found defective with the ship this time. And was about to
ask the Commander what he was doing when the ship suddenly lurched forward.
The deck shudder threw Dodo under the console bottom and onto the
floorspace in front of it. The deck girders didn't help soften the blow.
"Commander! What was that?" Hayes demanded. Her command console didn't read
any enemy craft or intraship malfunctions outside of repairs.
"Gaah..uhm.." Dodo used the edge of his console to hoist himself upright.
He quickly threw some broken fiber optic wiring off himself, and showed the
Commander a small, fuzzy and apparently burnt object. "Diz sahr.." he said.
Julie frowned, not quite recognizing the furball. "What is that, Dodo?"
Dodo examined the thing which had been wedged between circuit boards in his
console and came up with no answer. He shrugged his shoulders and answered
his best, and only guess. "A treeboll?"
Stern gave a flat expression at the Namuh. "A tribble."
"Gaah."
Commander Hayes scratched her neck, quite unsure as to what a tribble was
doing in the Operations station. She doubted anyone else on the bridge would
know either. "Well...get rid of it when you can, Commander.." she said.
Lieutenant Stern got up from his chair at the science station and walked
down to the lower deck. Not having anything to do. "I can do it now, sir."
Dodo looked at Greg with some aprehension, not wanting to have the
Lieutenant do his work in fear of Repayment. But when Commander Hayes had
ordered the science officer to go ahead and dispose of the dead tribble the
Namuh gave the creature up indifferently. Greg then sped towards the
turbolift, headed for the nearest recycler.
Julie turned back to Dodo. "Good work, Dods." she said.
"Uhm...Gaah."

Dodo hadn't found it particularly unusual that a fried, dead, tribble had
been found wedged between two circuit boards in the Operations console. He
hadn't even been bothered by the loud shudder of the ship when he had pulled
the thing out. After all, in less than a month the DarkPath had only managed
to become infested with cockoroaches, visited weird, physics-defying planets,
and gotten lost 500 some years in the future. So it was a real surprise to
him that what he *was* bothered about was that Lt.
Greg Stern hadn't been seen for two hours since the science officer went to
dispose of the creature.
Commander Hayes sighed and looked to Dodo. "Anything?"
He shook his head. "No sahr...no wun haz rezponded to da notuz." Dodo was
reffering to the shipwide comm he had been ordered to put through. Anyone not
sound asleep or sedated aboard the DarkPath was ordered to report Stern's
last location. Especially Stern.
"Allright." she said. The commander turned to her commbadge, tapping it on.
"Commander Hayes to Lt. Gesundheit."
A moment later a German voice responded. "Yes sir?"
"Report please."
Gesundheit murmured something and gave his report. "All shuttles,
runabouts, LRIs, and escape pods have been accounted for, sir. Visually."
"Oh-kay.." Julie looked around the bridge. "Has any of your staff seen Lt.
Stern?"
"Nope." said the officer.
"Allright. Good work, Lieutenant. Hayes out." she tapped her commbadge off
and then turned it to another channel. "Hayes to Mstrad.."
"Commander?" Mstrad's voice came through the commbadge clear. Although
Julie thought she sounded tired.
Julie took a breath, not believing that more problems, the last thing they
needed of course, were right now happening to her. Of course...that was
probably the case and worser for Greg she thought. The commander licked her
lip and reported to the commodore. "No sign of Stern, sir."
"Wonderful.." Mstrad said. "Keep searching, Commander. And put us on yellow
alert. There may be intruders."
Julie nodded even though Dar couldn't see her. "Aye sir."

Mr. Booker came when I was finising up with the Capt., I went to my

Booker was on the floor. I went to give hime a hypo, but all he asked for
was a couple of the pills he got from me a few days ago. He took them, and
seemed to feel better. The readings I got from the biobed were very odd,
when I asked about them I was told "it must be a computer malfuction", but
I'm not sure about that.

Mr. Marus brought a little girl name Riana to SB, she checked out fine.

<< Julie stared at him for a long moment. Shaking her head slowly, she moved
over to the couch to sit down. "So what happened? How did you end up here?"
>>

Shane sitting on his couch looked into Julie's eyes, then retreated back to
the floor before giving his explaination.
"Well, because I haven't had much interaction with Beta sun rays lately, I am
weakening, becoming more like a Terran. And in addition, I haven't been
eating or sleeping as you ordered me to." He explained.
Julie interpreted the information and sucked it in before making her
response.
"Oh, I see." She said calmly, refering to her training at Commander 'cademy,
she remained kewl, calm, and collected.
"And what are you going to do about this,.. What are we going to do about
this?" She asked, hinting to him, that he could be in trouble with her.
"Sorry, Julie. It's just that there was very little power, and we needed all
we could get for Lifesupport because the rest of it was sent to weapons,
engineering, and damage control. I felt that I could save energy by not
using any. I did seem to succeed though. Atleast until my energy reserves
ran out of energy." He explained with a hint of remorse. Julie just sat
there, attempting to keep kewl. She just sat there for a couple seconds,
thinking of a response.
"How much energy do you have left"? She asked with concern.
"Oh, I would say a couple of days worth, then I will be completely human.
Until I get in front of some Beta rays again... I hope." Shane stated,
answering her question to the best of his ability.
"Do you have any idea what will happen once your energy has been depleated?"
Julie asked, acquiring more information.
"I don't know, I think I will be just like a Terran, or a kryptonian on
Krypton, until I get more Beta rays into my body." He responded.
Julie just sat there, asking him more and more questions about the effects of
low beta rays in his body and the effects on his job. Shane answered all the
question as best he knew how, since he had never been in a situation like
this before.
"I think I will be able to do my job, I see no reason why not; The only
difference will be, is that I will be humaniod, instead of kryptonian." He
stated, answering one of Julie's many questions. After a period of about 15
to 20 minutes, Julie got up, asking:
"How long are you going to be off-duty?" He answered, "Just until
tomorrow's shift starts."
"Good, I suggest you make use of this free time.." Julie stated, twitching
her head toward Shane's bedroom section. Shane didnt respond, he only looked
away for a second. She turned and headed for the corridor door. Then she
turned back toward Shane.
"Oh, by the way, don't think that you are off the hook mr. Just wait until
you are well enough to withstand one of my lectures." She reprimanded
serious in tone, but with a slight glare of light in her eyes, possibly from
the joy of scaring the kryptonian. She once again turned, and then exited
Shane's quarters.
After she left, Shane went to his bathroom section grabbed a couple pills,
that he had gotten from Doctor Ironsides and swallowed them, without any
water. Then he went to his bed and fell onto it, exhausted from lack of
energy.

Today wasn't extremely emotional. I did my duty and not much
more. The only emotional moment was the astonishment at the 50,000 powerless
ships in a Romulan planetoid. Talk about a junkyard! Oh yeah, we were gassed,
knocked unconcious may never make it back. Have a nice day

Personal Log

BEGIN LOG

I dont know what to think of this situation, they say that they will help us,
but they seem extremely sour and rude to be friendly. Maybe their just being
careful, because they don't know us. I, have to look at this from our view,
and theirs as well and to speculate what they are thinking. It is my job to
give the commodor all the choices possible, so I must do that. They might be
in a war themselves, so they, of course, would be extremely careful to whom
they allow into their space. We have been
assigned a space dock, and ordered to shut down the ships systems. I dont
know what to think about that either, except, it gives a great chance to
renergize the damaged systems, and maybe, have enough power to reinsate the
programs that we shut down for our first battle.

First Lieutenant Booker, had woken up from a "power failure". It had
happened once before when he collapsed in sickbay in front of Dar Mstrad.
Now that his powers were decreasing in amount every second, his body was
working much like that of a body on adrenaline. It would have a increase in
usage, but then, during a quite time, the supply would slow down for
conservation reasons.
He got up, looked around scanning the area using X-ray vision, to determine
the situation. He heard a the Aft Turbolift coming to the bridge. It was
more than absolutely that it was people from the future. So he got up,
strecthing, getting his body ready for a workout. He ran at super speed
around the brige, avoiding the downed Dodo, Hayes, Mstrad, Taj, and La.
After about 5 seconds, 25 times around the bridge, Shane went to one of the
other turbolifts, opened the doors. The lift wasn't there,
which was great, he could travel much easier, and faster without using the
lift. He stepped into the turbo tunnel, hovering in place and shut the doors
behind him. He flew to deck 3 section B, officers quarters. He went into
his quarters, at superspeed, into his bedroom section. He went to his
closet, opened a box and took out the Suit of El. He started to turn in a
circle, faster and faster. At first, the circle was black and red. The
color of his StarFleet Uniform, but it had quickly changed...
To red, yellow and blue. The colors of his Kryptonian Uniform. He stopped,
and there he stood: Kew - El. {S superman. :~)

He exited his quarters, and went back to the turbotunnel. He had to assess
the situation. He flew down to the engineering deck. Exiting the tunnel, he
stepped onto the deck. Marus, Rophon, KITT, and Si were unconscious on the
deck. He walked over to the engineering console to check out the power
situation. The ship had been umbilicaled to the dock grips, using its power
for lifesupport. Kew went over to the console that was reading the solar
panels. They were still online and functioning
perfectly. He set the controls for automatic settings, so the panels energy
would go to, lifesupport emergency back up and main energy; Sickbay; shields
and weapons; sensors; warp engine; cloak. Hopefully, by the time this was
over, and they were able to go, one way or another, that the ships power
would be full and ready to go.
He then exited engineering and headed for the turbo tunnel. He flew up the
tunnel, but on his way up, he saw a lift coming down. He X-rayed the lift
and saw 3 men in it. The lift stopped, on deck 14. Still scanning the lift,
Kew say another 2 men get into the deck.
"Deck 15." He heard one of them say.
"Deck 15, thats the armory deck."

<<"Deck 15, thats the armory deck.">>

"I can't let them get knowledge of our weapons." Kew said to himself. He
thought to himself quickly.. What would be the best choice. He didn't want
them to know anyone was still awake, so killing them would not be the best
choice, because once the others found out that someone had killed those guys,
his surprise would be all over.
But, he could detain them and they would never know. That's what he decided
to do.
Kew ceased X-raying the lift. And started to focus on the lift's emergency
grips to the tunnel. Focusing, he initiated his heat vision, welding the
lift to the tunnel. The tunnel jolted to a stop. Satisfied that the men
would stay there, he entered deck 15. Going to the armory room, took a
couple a phasers with a side pouch. He put the pouches on his waist, and the
two phasers in the pouches. He exited the room, securing it, not allowing
anyone in. He did that to all the rooms, including the
torpedo and phaser control rooms. Once all the rooms were safely secured,
he went back to the tunnel, and flew under the stalled lift. He went close
to the lift and broke the welded emergency grips from the tunnel run. The
lift started to move again, continuing its course to deck 15. The men inside
were going beserk. Kew stayed under the lift, once the men got onto deck 15
and the doors shut behind them, Kew opened the bottom hatch of the lift, went
through the hole, placed the hatch cover back in
its place, and did the same with the top. Once on the other side, Kew went
to Deck 1, the bridge. When he got to the correct turbolift door, he opened
it, quickly got on the other side and closed it. He turned around, shocked
at what he saw.
Only Cean Dodo was on laying on the bridge, along with 4 combadges.
