Today I totally fooled my crew with the Quick Clone! They never knew it
wasn't me until I made it reveal itself! Bill Nye the only remaining
scientist played many practical jokes on it thinking it was me but when it
was bashed the way it was they never even realized that it wasn't me. Bill
Nye though strange has built a connection in me as a friend but an alien
grabbed him, another one broke my arm and ripped Sturms
clear off! I won't be looking forward to facing them again.

I guess one of the most memorable days was graduation day from the Academy.
For once in my life I felt like I actually accomplished a task in that was
given to me instead of finding an "easier" way out, if it were quitting
something, drugs, crime or what not. But not this time. This time I stuck
with it, that day was my "Day of Honor".
The Day of Honor
A few months ago; Star Fleet Academy Graduation
"Cadet Jason Lee Brooks" said the Commandants loud and a bit rough voice. I
walked up to the Commorant, I received my diploma and pip.
"Congratulations.......Ensign"
"Thank you Sir" I replied, feeling like I was on top of the world. As I
went back to my seat, I vaguely heard who the Commandant called off
afterwards. Eagerly wondering where I would be posted, I looked at my
diploma.
" USS Columbia, Helm and Assistant Operations Officer. All right!" I said
quietly under my breath, trying not to disturb anyone.
After time passed, the graduation ended and I met up with my family. We
returned home where not to my surprise, was a party. I mingled a bit, had a
few drinks, and then was interrupted by a transmission from Star Fleet. I
took the transmission in my room, where I got the transmission from a Star
Fleet Admiral.
"Hello Ensign" said the Admiral, sounding like he's done this many time
before.
"Hello Admiral" I said, noticing the drink in my hand, and quickly trying to
hide it so the Admiral didn't see it.
"Well, Ensign, if you don't know by now, you've been posted to the USS
Columbia, Prometheus class. You will report to Star Fleet Academy at 0900hrs
next Monday and a shuttle craft will escort you to Sector 001 where the
Columbia is docked. Once you have arrived on the Columbia you will report to
your CO, Captain Dana Torres and XO Commander Courtney Nelson, who is
temporally on leave at the moment." Said the Admiral, who looked as if had
just
given the longest speech of his life.
"Thank you Sir. I will be there."
"Good, and God Speed to you, Ensign"
" And you too Admiral" I said, eagerly wanting to get back to the party.
Once the transmission ended I head back into the other room.
"Torres....hmmm, sounds Klingon. This could be quite interesting." I said
with an excited look on my face. As I walked around, I saw my friend Doug.
We had been good friends all through school, we even kept in touch when I was
at the boys home.
"Hey Jay!" He yelled from across the room with a beer in his hand. I walked
over to him and he offered me a beer.
"Hey Queer! No thanx man."
"What, why not? Its your graduation day......Ensign, or has Star Fleet
softened ya up?"
"No way! I just prefer something stronger than that piss tasting beer." I
grabbed a cup and a bottle of bloodwine.
"Like this!" I said, holding the bottle up. I was about to pour the
bloodwine, when I decided to forget the cup. I took a big drink, and then
heard all my friends cheer in the background.
"Man, I've known you 12 years and still hate beer. Haven't you acquired a
taste for it yet?"
"Nope!" taking another drink of the bloodwine.
"You ought to try this stuff, its the greatest, or you to human to try it?"
I said daring him to take another drink"
" No thanx, Jay. I'll stick to what I got."
"Ok, suit yourself. I guess I just have get drunk quicker without ya."
"Don't worry Jay, I'll get drunk and make an ass out of myself soon enough."
After about a couple hours talkin' with my friends and family, my Mom
brought a big tray out with all of my favorite foods. I was in heaven,
because everyone knew I loved to eat! Everyone tought I was going to die
when they saw all the foods my mother made. A few people were surprised when
they saw what my Mom cooked, they were surprised she could even make half
the stuff on the tray. The tray had all my favorites from live Live Racht
, to
Rokeg Blood Pie. After 1 an hour of stuffing myself with all my favorite
foods and getting so drunk I could barely stand, all my family left and some
friends of mine headed down to the old train depot where a party was goin on.
Once we got there we had a few more drinks and danced some. I ended up
passing out at the party where I woke up the next morning in a chair with
Doug and some other friends on the floor.
A week went by and finally came Monday. As soon as my alarm went off I fell
out of bed with a thud, that sent my mother up to check on me and see if I
was ok. After showering, combing my hair, and etc, I put my knew uniform on
and placed the pip on my collar and headed into the kitchen. After all the
goodbyes, I love you's and be carefuls I was transported to Star Fleet
Academy where I met up with my shuttle. After about 5 minutes from leaving
earth, the shuttle docked and I transported to the Columbia. After being
greeted by a member of the Columbia, I was showed to my quarters and there I
unpacked all my belongings. When I was finished, I headed to the Turbo Lift
and got inside.
"Bridge! So this where my Star Fleet career begins"

Well today I got my first taste at command, sort of, commanding the ship
while Commander Nelson was on the planet. Although it was brief, and all I
did was routine checks, I'm sure it will be different once and if I get my
own command some day, I hope. I also got to know my assistant Science
officer, a little better, which was nice. He's a good officer too and a good
guy too. Also Sturm got promoted which, I'm sure he had a nice celebration.
I
remember when I got promoted, my eyes lit up and I felt on top of the world,
although outer space and the Holodeck was the best I could do for now. Other
than that, I'm a bit disappointed I didn't get to study the life form found
on the planet, but oh well, there will be new species out there for me to
study.

Well, the party the Commander planned was quite a party. Although some of
the details are a bit fuzzy, I think I can remember some. First I started
off with some bloodwine and qagh, and talked with the Commander, Tib, and
Sturm for a bit. Once Cmdr. Nelson left things got, how should I put
it............interesting. I ended up drinking about 2 bottles or so, I
think, I had about 3 slices of Rokeg Blood Pie and moshed with one of the
Lt's and a
few Ensigns.
After that I woke up in the lounge after one the Ensigns on bridge duty
called from the bridge telling me I was late for duty, to which I tried to
stand, all most falling to the ground and having a splitting headache. This
also means no more drinking for me for a while.

"Lets get it on!" Jason growled with all the rage in him. Then a figure
appeared out of the shadows. It appeared to be a Klingon male, Jason didn't
recognize, and didn't care, he was just ready to fight. The other Klingon
moved towards Jason, with a bat`leth in his hands.
" Are you ready to die................Human?" The Klingon smirks, then gets
a blood lust in his eyes.
" We'll see who dies.................Coward!" I readied my bat`leth, knowing
he was going to attack after that remark.
"Die!" The Klingon ran at Jason like rabid animal, trying to kill any and
everything. Jason held his bat`leth up defending himself. The two wrestled a
bit, Jason slicing the Klingon's arm, and the Klingon getting a few punches
in here and there.
"You'll have to do better than that!" the Klingon laughed, then got back in
a ready position.
"Look whose talking" Jason replied, wiping some blood from his lip. Jason
ran after the Klingon in rage, then swung his bat`leth over his head, and the
Klingon held his bat`leth firmly, defending himself. Then Jason kicked the
Klingon, making him stumble a bit, then hit the bat`leth out of his hands.
"Now, whose doing better?!" Jason dropped the bat`leth and hit the Klingon
square in the face, with all his might, making the Klingon fall to the
ground.
The Klingon got up, growled then came hurtling towards Jason. Jason took out
his knife and pushed it in the Klingon's stomach as soon as the klingon got
close enough. Jason watched as the Klingon fell to the ground, then picked
up his bat`leth and headed for the door.

say, either the holodeck's tennis players have gotten better or I'm getting
worse. Knowing today's technology, it could be both. Then I had breakfast
in the lounge, I decided to skip the usual qagh or some other Klingon food I
have day after day and have a stack of pancakes, I must say they were quite
different than my normal meals, but very good.
After that I reported to the bridge and sat at the Science station, although
I didn't find anything to much importance. I began to think about our last
mission, well sort of a mission, about when we couldn't find Commander
Nelson. I just couldn't get thought out of my mind, of what if she had
really died. Not that I want her to die, for anyone person to die is a
tragic loss, but what if...? How could I bear the bad news to everyone, such
as her
family, her two daughters, the Captain, or even her husband!
I just couldn't have all that weight to bear on my shoulders, but this is

Both the ship reperesenattive and my commander said the entire crew did

sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Well our current mission is light on details, ok we don't even know what
we're doing here in the Gamma Quadrent. It seems that the mission is very
classified. To be honest, I don't like being left in the dark like this, but
I guess I have no choice. I do hear we will be splitting the ship possibly,
myself getting to command one of the sections. I'm a bit happy about that.
And since we are on the verge being honest, why not go on a roll. Command
isn't all its cracked up to be. Yeah it has its advantages, ok a lot of
advantages, but with it comes a GREAT deal of responsibility. A
responsibility most think they are ready for, but deep down they're not. But
I've had a good Captain and Commander, and learned well. That doesn't mean
I'm ready for a ship of my own, but I will be.........in time.
In a way, Starfleet is similar to ways of life. You start out trying to get
into the Academy then once you're in you work and work and can't wait to get
out. You finally get out of the Academy, on your own, a fresh new Ensign
that can't wait to rise through the ranks and finally get a ship of their
own. Once they've gone through all that, and they're sitting at a desk in an
Admiral's uniform wishing they could be that young Ensign or Captain or
what ever. So in a way.......Starfleet is a lot like life.

With the Jem`Hedar out of the way finally, I think we can now turn our
focus on getting home and to the Vorta defectors. As of now I have security
teams outside their quarters.
On to another matter at hand ::rubs his head:: about the other night with
Kerry. I made a complete fool of my self and in front of the Commander.
::shakes head:: I think drinking myself stupid or even drinking, is out of
the question for a long while. I don't even know what got into me and why I
really did it. Hell, why do we do a lot of things. For one simple reason,
we just.....do.

Rommel was in the lab that he had constructed in his quarters. He had been
working on some enhancements to his artificial limbs. The original model had
long been replaced and upgraded so many times that his limbs were now totally
unique in the universe. He had added a carrier frequency that allowed him to
remain in
communicator contact with his ship even without a Comm badge. A storage
compartment allowed him to carry micro tools for repairs. These where just a
few of the changes he had made over the years.
Standing and stretching his back Gio walked to the replicator and got a
Late'. As he walked back to his workstation he paused to look at the LCARS
readout of the Romulan Cloaking device. One way or another he was going to
assimilate this technology. It may come in handy in a pinch.

Boy, a lot sure has been going on. First that top secret mission to the
Gamma Quadrent and taking quite a pounding, Next Captain Torres resigned,
then we barely made it home, then myself becoming Acting XO, and then
Courtney getting promoted to Captain. I hope I didn't leave anything out,
for I know it was quite the mouthful.
Another thing on my mind is who will be the Columbia's new Executive
Officer. I'm anxious to find out who it will be, but its up to the Captain
and I stand by her decisions. I can also say It'll be nice to finally get a
full command staff back on the Columbia, we've seem to be without one for a
while. But for now, only time will tell.

Cody had ended up late for his shift and also had a problem on his
hands. A virus and a sick crew. Down sensors and hugs problems. He missed his
wife and felt out of place on the Columbia. Another ship, same stuff. Cody
was thinking of ways to save the ship from the virus.

"Flashbacks"
Log by:
Fst. Lt. Jason Brooks
Jason lay in his bed, tossing and turning when he rose in a flash. He was
drenched in his own sweat and breathing heavily. "What the hell." He'd just
flashed back to his senior year at the Academy and saw the building, where
his fiancee Kelli was killed explode.
He looked at the table with a picture of Kelli and some other family
pictures and within a beat of his heart he swiped the picutres and everything
off the table knocking it onto the floor. He then rested his head in hands
and sighed.
"What the hell is going on, all these bad dreams, flashbacks?" He was angry
now and was doing his best to conceal his temper. He did what he always did
when he tried to calm down, he started massage his temples when he heard
voices and racket.......it was another flashback.
"This just in, local boy Jason Brooks, son of Starfleet Captain Chris Brooks
has been arrested under the charges of possession of illegal substance,
disturbance of the peace, and breaking an entry. Brooks is only 14 and will
be tried as a juvenile at a local court. A hearing date is yet to be
announced."
Jason could hear the reporter rambling on about what had happened, but he
didn't care, he just kept on walking keeping his head low and trying to avoid
eye contact with the cameras. Right now, Jason was wondered what his father
was going to say, but frankly never really cared what his father had to say
since it was all about how much of a disappointment I was to him. All he
thought his father cared about was his career in Starfleet.
Jason shook his head and returned to his own time and place. All these
flashbacks had been somewhat disturbing and annoying, but there seemed to be
a few good ones here and there, but the fact that he couldn't seem to control
them was most disturbing off all.
He sighed and lay back down on his pillow, "I'll just try and get some sleep
and hopefully I'll be okay in the morning."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jason arose in a panic, he'd slept in and was an hour late for his duty
shift
"Courtney's going to have my head!" He murmed to himself and quickly as
possible threw on his clothes as fast as he could.
Once he finished getting ready, this gave him about a good two minutes to
think of an excuse for Courtney not to behead him and why he was late. He
ran down the corridor, saying mostly "Sorry, sorry, I'm late."
He made it to the TL just in time as it was about to close, "Deck one." he
said in a hurry and waited as the TL hummed its usual tune and watched as the
doors to the TL opened and he stepped out onto the bridge.
"Ensign Jason Brooks reporting for Duty Sir!" He stood at attention, almost
spraining every muscle in his body.
Captain Torres chuckled and shook her head at him, "At ease Ensign. And
despite protocol, I prefer Captain."
Jason started to sweat and let out a soft half smile and nodded "Yes
Captain."
Jason blinked as he returned to realality at the sound of Captain Nelson's
voice practically yelling at him, "Jason? Lieutenant! Are you all right and
would you mind telling me why you were an hour late this morning?" She
looked at him sternly while Jason lifted his head slowly.
"Uhh, yeah I just didn't get much sleep last night." He said trying to avoid
all that had been happening.
He could hear the Captain talking to him but he couldn't seem to make out
the words when everything went black, and Jason knew where he was now, this
was defintely a flashback, and a most disturbing one at that.
Rommel sat in the medical office so far all the crew had been inoculated and
showed signs of complete recovery. He had faced death on numerous occasions
in his career but for some reason this time seemed different. He had faced
Cardassians, Klingons, Rommulans, and JemHadar to name a few but none had
brought him as close
to death as this small microscopic organism had. Shaking his head as he read
Piqabu's report. I'snt life funny?
"What the Hell Happened to Me?" Pt. 2
Log by:
Fst. Lt. Jason Brooks
He could hear the Captain talking to him but he couldn't seem to make out
the words when everything went black, and Jason knew where he was now, this
was defintely a flashback, and most disturbing one..........
"Hellllllp!" He screamed. He knew where he was and what was going on, but
its like he couldn't control himself. It was a total reinactment of what
happened. "Get me the hell out of here!" Jason was starting to lose control
now, and it wasn't pretty.
That was the last thing he remembered until he woke up with some very, not
so good news. Then he heard it. It was screaming and yelling. He
recognized both voices. One voice was his own and the other's was Captain
Torres.
Jason was going crazy, and by the viens from his forehead, you'd think he
was going to have a heart attack right then and there. Thats when he felt
some relief but he wasn't happy about it. Dr. Rommel injected him with a
sedative. The last words from his mouth were, "Son of a.....," until falling
into unconsciousness.
~~~~~~~~~~
Jason snapped out of it and looked around, he was in sickbay, but he had no
idea why.
"What happened?" He demanded, as he sat up from a bio bed.
"You collapsed on the bridge. You've been out for a good four hours"
"Four hours?" He exclaimed, "What happened?"
"You seemed to be dreaming, from all the REM." Jason nodded at the nurse
hopped off the bio bed.
"Am I permitted to leave Ensign?"
"Yes sir, but Captain Nelson would like to talk to you in her Ready Room."
"Thank you Ensign." He nodded and began his exit of sikcbay and entered the
nearest TL. "Bridge," He said sternly.
Jason left the TL and watched as all eyes were on him. "Get back to work."
he snapped. He eyed the bridge as everyone hurriedly returned to work. He
rang the chime and heard the Captain's soft words for him to come. He
hesitated for a minute almost knowing what was coming from the Captain, then
entered and felt a woman throw her arms around him and kiss him deeply. He
knew that kiss, he REALLY knew that kiss. "Kelli?" He said softly

"What the Hell Happened to Me?" Pt. 3
Log by:
Fst. Lt. Jason Brooks
He hesitated for a minute almost knowing what was coming from the Captain,
then entered and felt a woman throw her arms around him and kiss him deeply.
He knew that kiss, he REALLY knew that kiss. "Kelli?" He said softly.
"Well who do you think it is, silly?" she said, breaking off the kiss and
caressing his cheek. "I missed you today."
Jason smiled and picked her up and twirled her around in his arms, then
brought her down and kissed her deeply.
Kelli broke off the kiss once more and smiled while blushing, "I'll take it
you missed me too."
"Damn right I did!" He said. "I love you."
"I love you too." Kelli said caressing his cheek once more. All Jason
could do was gaze into her eyes. "What?"
"huh?" He said a bit startled.
"You're looking at me like you haven't seen me in years."
"I haven't....I mean, its just great to see you. Every time I see you, I
think my heart skips a beat." Kelli smiled at his words.
Jason raised a brow as he heard a voice in the background. "Nelson to
Sickbay, please send someone to my Ready Room, its about Lt Brooks." Jason
recongized the voice as the captain's and snapped out of his hallucination.
"Captain? Where'd she go?" He exclaimed.
"Where'd who go? Are you all right Lieutenant?"
"Nevermind, I'm fine. I just need to be alone."
"Wait a minute, Lieutenant.....Jason, whats going on?"
Jason shook his head turned to the Captain, "Its nothing really, I just need
some time alone."
"Very well, I want you to go back to your quarters, I'm going to send a
someone up to check on you though."
"Understandable." Jason turned to leave the Captain's RR and walked back
onto the bridge then stepped into the TL, feeling the tention ease. "Deck
3." He listened as the TL hummed and stopped shortly. Jason left and headed
down the corridor, praying that no
more flashbacks would occur. He didn't know if he could handle another one.
He finally stepped into his quarters and went straight for his bed. First
thing he did was take off his uniform and put on some more comfortable
civilian clothing. It had been a long day, and very uncomfortable. All the
flashbacks and hallucinations were getting to him, but for now all he could
do was wait. Wait for a medic to show up and to see if any more flashbacks
were to occur. He laid his head down on the pillow, promising himself he
would fall asleep. But in a matter of minutes, he was sound asleep and
dreaming......Peacefully.

Jason awoke from his bed well rested, and refreshed. He hadn't slept that
well since........well since he was young or passed out from being so drunk.
He hadn't experienced any flashbacks since the Captain's ready room, and he
was oh so thankful.
He got up out of his bed and walked through his quarters, trying making his
way to the replicator but stopped shortly as he passed in front of a mirror.
It had been so long since he took the time to look at his face in a mirror.
He noticed some gray hairs and wrinkles under his eyes. "Damned old age!" he
cursed under his breath. The irritating part was that he couldn't get those
horrid events out of his mind and he could remember it just like it
was yesterday.
He was just promoted to Lieutenant Jr Grade and the Columbia was on its way
to a space station that wasn't responding to any or Starfleet's messages.
Once they got there, we were devided into teams. Captain Torres with one
team, and Jason on the other with Commander Nelson. They searched the area,
keeping open comm lines with the Columbia incase of emergancies. Jason
thought he had a life form on his tricorder so he went to investigate. He
looked around and after a while, and tried to comm the ship but no one
answered, so then he tried other members of the Away Team, but no answer. As
Jason began to look he noticed it was dark and he was alone.
For hours, he was kept in the dark, not knowing where he was, who was doing
this, and why. The next thing he knows, Jason in sickbay. He could hear the
Captain's screams, then followed by his as he found out the news that he'd
aged almost thirty years in a matter of hours. Jason was horrified, angry,
confused, but most of all, he was scared.
Jason stepped back from the mirror, he started to breath hard, and clutched
his chest and hunched over, but soon recovered. All the stress was catching
up to him and he didn't know just how to handle it. He leaned over to check
the chrono.
"Good," He said softly, "No duty for another couple of hours."

Stardate 9902.26
Eli squinted as the bright flash marking Q's departure illuminated the
bridge of the Columbia. Upon feeling slightly cooler than usual, Eli looked
down to find himself in a grass skirt and bikini. Looking around, he also
noticed that all of his fellow crew members were in similar outfits and
resisted a slight laugh. Courtney was bright red and mumbling to herself as
she stormed off the bridge and to the nearest turbo-lift. Many of the other
officers also were leaving to change and Eli followed, not wanting to be the
only remaining person in a bikini and grass skirt. Their was a mechanical
hiss as the doors to the turbo-lift slid open and Jason Brooks and Eli
stepped in.
Eli looked at Jason, now much different in appearance and asked, "So how
does it feel to be young again?"
Jason gave a smug smile and turned to face Eli, "I feel like a ladies
man......again. And now...I'm officially back on the prowl." Jason chuckled
once more and turned around.
Eli briefly pondered what Jason had just said and then turned to face the
doors just as they slid apart. "This is my deck, see ya at tonight's shift,"
said Eli as he stepped outside of the lift.
Jason nodded and smiled as the doors closed, leaving Eli alone. Eli stood
there, listening to the sound of the powerful ship beneath his feet. The
engine's rumble, almost inaudible to ears other than those of a dedicated
engineer, comforted him. The sound reassured him that he was safe. Once
again feeling a slight chill, Eli continued on his way to his quarters
walking down the deck. The hall was lit with glowing blue-gray lights, well
hidden
in-between where the curved wall meat the ceiling. Every inch of the
Columbia was as sleek and screamed power and authority, as it should.
Eli was relieved to reach his quarters without encountering any other crew
members and quickly stepped inside. "Computer, lights. Maximum
illumination." Lights flooded his previously darkened quarters, revealing a
scene of chaos. Eli hadn't been able to keep his quarters in order with his
demanding schedule, clothes were strewn across the bed and draped over arms
of chairs. Eli rummaged through his quarters for a clean uniform and upon
finding
one, quickly changed. He then rummaged to find a communicator among piles of
clothes and debris.
Having found the communicator and clearing a place at his desk, Eli sat down
in his chair and faced his monitor. "Computer, begin recording personal
log."
The Computer beeped and responded, "You may begin when ready."
"We are finally rid of Q, at least for now. As much of a burden as he is,
his visit resulted with Brooks' getting back his youth. I'm still not clear
how it came to be that Jason was prematurely aged. That happened before I
joined the Columbia. Q's visit resulted in minimal damage to the ship and
her crew. As for the small amount of damage he caused, it was fixed upon his
departure. I suppose this entry might be referred to by crew members of
ships that will encounter Q in the future so I'll try to give as much useful
information as possible. When he bothers to visit a federation ship, he's
usually starved for attention. Our solution was to bore him as much as
possible. However, in teh end it was not that that caused him to leave. The
bridge crew had to give a peformance in which we made fools of ourselves
before he left. He promised never to return,

Jason Brooks
CSO/Acting XO
I was given some time off during the week to myself, which I so stubbornly
refused. Being young once again has just made me even more fast paced and
rearing to go. I resumed my duties with pride. I'm also glad to report the
Bengay smell is out of my quarters and finally smells of qagh, bloodwine and
dirty clothes. Ahhhhhh, being single! I'm still trying to figure out if
that is a good thing or bad.
Being twenty-two again is great, and I haven't gotten plastered to
celebrate. Funny thing is, four months ago, thats exactly what I would have
done, gotten so drunk I couldn't see straight, or gotten so stoned. I guess
I've put that all behind me, at least I sure as hell hope so. I don't think
I could live like a kid again. Being a teenager once was too much. My teens
were hectic. I was always in some sort of trouble, and always seemed to be
drunk or high. Then I got caught. My parents thought that would slow me,
and which it did....a little. I passed the phase of doing drugs, finding out
the hard way that they were more trouble than they were worth. For two years
I stayed sober while in the boy's home, but once I was out, I was back to my
dirty deed once again, drinking.
Then it came when my father signed me up for Starfleet. Even I thought
that would slow me down, but has fate would have it, I didn't. Until my
sophmore year, when I was threatened to be expelled from the Academy. That
was my big turn around and for about three years I slowed down. Then came
along the accident and my aging thirty years. I started drinking just to
sooth the pain and stress, then I started doing it more, and more, and more,
and
then I made a fool of my self in front of the now Captain Nelson. I figured
out that drinking wasn't worth it either. Even though I managed to keep it
secret I'm not proud of it.
And now, I'm still sober and damned proud of myself for it!

Courtney>::sighs:::It's been two weeks since I've talk to Jarvis. It's never
been this long. Even when he was captured his commander called me within a
week. i'm really scared. Lez is worried too. She hasn't said anything
aloud, but I can tell. I'm so proud of her for trying to be strong. She's
been especially good about helping with Daniel. Audrey on the other hand is
going to drive me up a wall. It's really not her fault, it's that
five-year-old innocence of not understanding what's really happening. She
asks me every hour where her daddy is and when he's coming home. It makes me
feel bad to have to tell her I don't know the answer to either question. My
nerves are shot from thinking and worrying about it. But what else besides
worry and hope is there to do?

Cody had saved Lt Kerry's life and helped save the ship. After checking
the engines and checking on Lt Kerry, Styles went to his quarters to shower
and relax. Going to war was not his cup of tea. After the shower, he did a
little reading and went right to bed.

The AT on the planet were prisoners and Brooks wanted to go down there.
Cody protested and felt his place was on the Bridge and ship. Styles had the
idea of going down there himself, using white as bait. Cody didn't want
anyone buy himself to get hurt on this mission. He was going to try and make
sure that wouldn't happen.

Eli had finished putting the strips that were once his uniform shirt around
the deep gash on his arm. His efforts were proving unsuccessful as blood
continued to soak through the layers. He closed his eyes and grimaced as
another wave of pain swept through his body. His tricorder still lay beside
him, it's glow and rhythmic sound a comfort to Eli.
"Computer, begin recording personal log," Eli said softly to the
communicator in his sweating hand. "Since my last entry I've managed to move
about two decks up through the small tunnels that encrycle the outpost. I've
reached a minor computer junction and I'll hopefully be able to access the
systems before long with my tricorder." Eli paused. "I've lost a tremendous
amount of blood since the fight with the Jem Hadar, my arm is numb and my
body
is weak. I've injected myself with stimulants via the hypospray over the
past few hours to keep from become unconsious again-- that would prove fatal.
Something has to happen soon, I'm quickly running out of the drug and blood."
Eli looked at his arm and paused as he applied another bandage. "As far as I
can tell, the 12 Jem Hadar remain the only Jem Hadar on the station,
suggesting that the Columbia prevailed over teh attacking ship. I keep
telling myself that so I can cling to a small glimmer of hope that I'll
suddenly be rescued by an away team. Here's the tricky part, they don't know
I'm alive." Eli chuckled slightly. "I've considered my options, if I
attempt to contact them, I'll most likely be detected by the Jem Hadar first.
Even if I could access subsystems, shields are still up and a transport would
be impossible. My most likely option is to set up a beacon with the
tricorder and communicator that is barely strong enouph to transmit a written
word or two via subspace. I'll begin work on that as soon as I end this
recording. I'm also relying on Courtney's telepathic senses to detect my
presense on board. End Log."

Eli sat on the edge of a bio-bed, lacing his black boots. He attatched the

up to leave when the doors to Sickbay hissed open and Courtney walked
through. Eli sat back down on the edge of the bed and clasped his hands.
"Hi," she said as she ran a hand through her hair. "Glad to see you made it
back. Hoe are you feeling?"
Eli moved his arm slightly as he answered, "I'll be okay-- Piqu Bu said I
should avoid overexertion for a couple of days."
"That means no crawling around in Jeffries tubes," she chuckled.
"Well, with a war on-- you never know," his voice trailed off.
Courtney nodded as she pulled up a chair and sat next to the bio-bed.
"So how was your trip?"
"It was ok. I saw one of our old team members on Betazed."
Eli shifted his position slightly as he asked, "Who?"
"Solata."
Eli furrowed his brow, "I havn't heard from her since graduation."
Courtney shook her head, "Her fiancee was killed in battle a couple of
months ago."
"Damn, it's happening all around us-- and to good people too."
Courtney's badge chirped as Brooks hailed her, "Captain, please report to
the bridge."
Courntey acknowledged the communique and stood up to leave, "I'll see you
later. Bu says your fit for duty. Normally I'd give you leave after the
hell you just went through but we're at war." Courtney spun on her heal and
walked towards the door.
"I know, it's ok. See ya later."
"Bye." The doors hissed shut behind her.

Eli turned his attention from the warp core to the P.A.D.D. in his hand and
sighed. He walked through the engineering section and to a lonely pair of
doors in the far wall. Stopping suddenly, he remembed that the door
mechanisms were offline and paused to retrieve the manual release from the
compartment placed by the door. Looking back, he saw that engineering
was basically empty-- Cody Styles had left earlier and their were a few
remote ensigns wandering between panels making a futile effort to bring
systems back online. He used the manual release to open the doors wide
enouph to step into his office. He struggled to shut the doors behind him
and sighed-- allowing his shoulders to drop and his head to roll. Eli slowly
sauntered over to his desk and plunked down in the leather chair. He sighed
a heavy
sigh and rested his feet on the polished desk top. The blank screen of the
desktop computer display glarred back at him-- reminding him of the shipwide
failures.
After a few minutes of manipulating controls and hardare Eli was able to
restore enouph of the computer's systems to record a log. "Computer, begin
recording personal log."
The Computer replied with a slightly distrorted voice and beeped. "You may
begin when ready."
"Today has not been a good day. It started off kind of lousy when I had to
put in extra hours to repair a damaged plasma manifold this morning. Then I
recieved a subspace transmission from Jennifer." Eli shook his head as he
held up the P.A.D.D. with her message so it could be seen on screen. Eli
tapped it a couple of times as he scrolled through the short but simple
message. "Then the ship met with disaster-- the computer somehow
malfunctioned.... to say the least...... and created an artificial lifeform.
The lifeform disabled most systems and has locked out the computer-- it's
hopeless unless the Captain can negotioate with the creature." Eli paused
and shook his head again as he looked at the P.A.D.D. glumly.
"She broke up with me." Eli chuckled. "Rather ironic......." his voice
trailed off. Eli swiveled in his chair to face the stars streaking by the
ship through the large window and heaved a heavy sigh. "Let's just be
friends she said-- I don't mean to hurt you she said. That's such bull."
After a moment of silence he stood up and walked slowly to the replicater,
his arms folded.
Lukily, the replicators had been left functioning. Eli figured that the
Artificial Intelligence must not have wanted them to starve. He replicated a
warm cup of Jo and then returned to his seat. Cupping his hands around the
warm mug, Eli leaned forward with his elbows on the polished desk top. "It
only got worse, in an emergency situation, one of the officers under my
command refused to follow a direct order I gave him. I had isolated the
creature's origin to the forward computer core, specific paramaters can be
found in the databse. Anyways, I decided that becuase all controls had been
overriden and locked out-- the most effective thing to do would be to prevent
the AI's awarness from spreding to the remaining computer core. The best way
to do this was to remove unaffected isolinear chips pertaining to the aft
core. I ordered Mr. Cody Styles to help me with this but he decided I
was insane and that I was endangering the ship." Eli paused as he sipped is
warm cup of Jo and leaned back. "But... it's no longer my problem."
Eli swiveled in the leather chair to face the streaking stars again and
without looking back commanded, "Computer, end and save log."
Eli only sighed, savering the precious quiet.

loosing good men and ships-- an aspect of war I will never come to accept.

Jason dragged himself into his quarters and heard the "swoosh" of the door
open then close behind him. It had been a long day, just as the last....and
the last. He plopped himself down onto his couch and let his body sink
within the cushion and he let out a sigh of comfort and relief. Sleepily he
rubbed his left eye with his forefinger and lightly shook his head to keep
him awake for a few more minutes. "Compu.." he was cut off by his
sniffling, "Computer, begin personal log for Lt. Cmdr. Brooks. Star

top part of his uniform and tossed it to the floor. "Crew morale on getting
home seems brighter. Ideas are rolling in but we still don't have anything
concrete."
"This is my first time off duty since the incident and I'm somewhat
relieved. I've noticed the crew somewhat bewildered at what they've seen and
are seeing, but I think we all are to some extent, including myse...." Jason
trailed off and closed his eyes letting his body relax and quickly falling
asleep. The thoughts off past events rushed through his head. The idea of
"Alternate" timeline passed through his head, for thats what the news was and
he wondered if "she" existed in this timeline. Maybe, just maybe....

The large gray doors hissed as they slid apart, revealing Lieutenant Kerry
standing on the other side. Slowly, with his hands clasped behind him, Eli
walked into the transporter room and stood beside a young ensign who was
manning the controls.
"Do you have their coordinates?" Eli inquired
"Aye sir"
"Energize!"
A blue sparkle briefly illuminated the transporter room as two figures
appeared on the lit pad. A woman and a man stood side by side, both were
wearing the same, unfamiliar uniform. Their suits were black with red sashes
across the torso, small gold dashes outlined the seams and silver pins
symbolized their ranking. The woman appeared to be about Courtney's age, she
bore 4 pins, the unmistakable rank of captain. Hurridly, she dashed past Eli
and
through the doors. Eli surmised that she was headed for the captain's ready
room where Courtney anxiously awaited her visit.
The man stood briefly on the lit pad before stepping down to stand beside
his brother, Lieutenant Kerry. He smiled, a tear running down one cheek and
the two embraced in a hug. "I thought you were dead," he exclaimed.
Eli shrugged, startled by his brothers reaction. It had only been a couple
of days since he had last communicated with David on Deep space Nine. But in
David's time-line, it had been close to 25 years since he had seen Eli. Eli
stepped back, examining his brother who was now signifigantly older than he.
Eli smiled and said, "Ya know-- if I remember correctly, I was the older
brother."
David chuckled and asked, "Can we go to your lounge and kinda catch up?"
"It's a military ship, the only thing we've got is a mess hall. We could go
to your ship." Eli said hopefully.
Shaking his head no David explained, "I'm under strict orders from Alexis
not to share any unnecessary information with you or your crew... yet. That
means you shouldn't see the technology aboard the Columbia-F. Being here,
with you is dangerous enouph. But belive me-- the Columbia F is as powerful
and beautiful as this one." As he spoke, David gazed around him-- looking at
his surroundings for the first time since he had arrived. What was to
Eli one of the most advanced and powerful ships ever built was a relic to
David.
The pair strode out of the transporter room and down the long cooridor.
"So what's happened in the last two decades?" Eli inquired.
David thought for a moment but before he could speak Eli inturrupted with a
second question. "Did we win the war?"
David paused in his step and turmed to face Eli. "Would I be standing here
if we didn't?" he said with a cocky grin. "Oh!" he excaimed as he suddenly
remembered something of significance. "You might be interested to know that
the U.S.S. Voyager and her crew returned safely to the Alpha Quadrant about
19 years ago."
"How wonderful! About a year before, in my time, Starfleet had recieved
some transmissions from theme via a subspace relay disclosing their presence
in the Alpha Quadrant. In fact, if memory serves me-- their holographic
docot rescued the prototype prometheus class vessel. If it wasn't for him--
I might not be on this ship right now."
The two brothers continued their conversation as they slowly sauntered down
the hallway to the mess hall where they sat for about an hour before being
inturrupted by a call from the Captain.
"Nelson to Kerry."
Eli tapped his badge, "Kerry here."
"Is David with you?"
"Aye"
"Come to the Observation lounge with him. We're having a meeting in 10
minutes."
"Acknowledged, Kerry out."

The Past, Present & Future
(Tundr's Personal Log)
When the fanfare and well wishing was over and Tundr had retreated to her
quarters, she sat on the couch and took a deep breath. She looked around her
familiar surroundings and a wave of emotion came over her. She was excited,
scared, sad and a little anxious. She was running the whole gambit of
emotions. After all, she had been on the Potemkin since she was an ensign
and so much had happened to her. She was now getting
ready to leave it all behind to assume her new duties as the XO of the USS
Columbia.
Tundr hadn't fully unpacked so there wasn't that much to repack. She had
sent a message to Romulus letting her grandparents know of her move and she
also sent a message to earth to let her parnets know as well. As her
thoughts had drifted back to promotion, she swore she had seen Bjorn. When
she went to look for him, he wasn't there. Had she wished so hard for him to
be there that her mind created his presence there? That part of her life was
still up in the air.
As she shook her head to clear her thoughts, she had to think of the present
and now her future with the Columbia. Her new captain had been at the
promotion and she would be riding back to the Columbia with her. This would
mark the beginning of her future. Her future with Captain Courtney Nelson
and the crew of the Columbia. She took a deep breath and laid back on the
couch as her mind created a collage of her past, present and future.

Back Into the Fold
Story Log
By Lieutenant Alak Tormar
Alak leaned against his quarters bulkhead, resting his head against the wall
while he faced the viewing portal. He could hear the lite hum of the power
conduit just a few feet away from him in the interior bulkhead. It was
amazing how similar the power flow sounded like the continual lava flow in
the Temple of the Chosen on his home world. A huge part of him wished to be
back there, finishing his training for future ruling on the Council.
Although with the recent events that have unfolded with his people, Alak
didn't know what to expect for the future. Where he truly had a place in
that culture after the past few months.
He could not help but think about the "religious conflicts" between the
Consulate Familles. If the first Consulate Family was no longer able to meet
the requirements for keeping their position, why did they fight so hard to
keep it. Never before had a Family that no longer could meet the
requirements for their station fight to keep their rank. Who was everybody
to believe when the lines were divided so evenly during this "religious
conflict".
Had the months of battle really solved anything? Alak was too confused to
answer that. All he could do was follow his Family.
The computer alarm beeped loud enough to knock Tormar out of his
semi-meditative trance. "Operations Computer reports we will be docking with
the USS Columbia in 5 standard hours." Hearing that, Alak stood and
stretched out his legs. It was going to be interesting how he
was going to deal with Star Fleet life after four months back into his Anomid
culture. There were striking similarities with what went on back at his home
world and what was happening with Star Fleet and the war with the Dominion.
People in both areas were thrust into roles they did not want to do, but had
to for the safety of their race and way of life. Being a ranking member of
one of the Consulate Familles, he was at the forefront of the
"conflict"; commanding a new Anomid War Cruiser. Tormar grinned as the
thought about the good times he had commanding his own vessel. It was
definitely something he could see himself doing in the future, whether it be
an Anomid or Star Fleet vessel. He was raised and trained for command since
the day of his birth, and in one form or another, he would be a leader.
But for now, he was no longer the heir to the Fourth Consulate seat; he was
just a Lieutenant and Assistant Chief Science officer on a Federation ship.
He was glad not to have a double posting this time. While informative and
exciting, he needed to start back into Star Fleet life a little slower then
being incharge of an entire ships mental health. If events continued to
develop back home with his people...he would have plenty excitement waiting
for him there. For now, Lieutenant Alak Tormar, Assistant Chief Science
Officer on the USS Columbia was just what he wanted. While he knew he wanted
to be in command in the future, he just wanted to get back into the fold.
Into a fold were he knew he was needed, a fold he knew were his station was.
