***Begin Duty Log***

Today was sort of a shock for me. I have been on extended leave for a few
weeks, and in a week or so, I leave again. I've come home- and how funny it
is, to think of a ship as home- to find that Dan has transferred, and I have
two new officers. Ensign Larue seems to be very competent. She ought to move
through the ranks quickly. I might have to watch out for my job soon.
::smiles slightly:: Ensign McK was slightly less...enthusiastic about duty,
but this is his first mission. They are both great
officers. I'm glad to finnally have someone in the department. I also come
home to find my sister Dana paralyzed and unable to speak. I still don't know
the details. We encountered the Borg, and though I wasn't on the Bridge long,
I am pretty sure we're in deep sh- um...trouble. Matt came to see Dana as
well; it was great seeing him...although the circumstances weren't all that
great. I look forward to hearing all the details of the Borg fight from my
officers...And I must talk to Phar about Dana.
::sighs:: This is so much different than leave. Kind of a rude awakening. I
need to go find all the duty reports. I must get caught up with this
mission.....

First Lt Rigel = Acting Chief Engineer
USS Columbia
NCC 101744

We left Starbase Everest, ship on yellow alert, heading toward the last known
position of a Borg ship. Our mission is to investigate without engaging.
I challenged my Engineering Officer to recommend courses of action should the
Borg discover us and attack.
Both Lt's OneStar and Santiago made good recommendations and I decided to let
them implement them and keep them on standby should the need arise.

The mission was going according to plan, but we were suddenly discovered by
the Borg and we were attacked.
We implemented Lt Santiago's shield harmonic wavelength changes that
presented the Borg ship with different shield postures thereby reducing the
efficiency of their weapons.
Lt OneStar made the necessary computations and programs to re-route power
from the warp core to any system that fell below pre-programmed parameters.
One of the Borg hits appeared to have damaged the Port Nacelle. Lt OneStar
and I proceeded to make repairs knowing that we would require warp speed. In
transit thru JT, we found that the hit had only damaged conduits and coils.
Lt. OneStar began repairs as I returned to ME to monitor fuel mix and
initiated emergency startup of the warp engines.
Lt OneStar made needed repairs and startup was initiate giving the Bridge
full power within minutes.

I understand that we are heading back to Everest with the Borg in tow. We
will need to run full diagnostics on all systems and re-program the shields
to alter wavelengths.

I commend Lt jg David OneStar and Lt jg Juan Santiago for exemplary
performance and forward thinking.

Duty Log: Stardate 9607.16

Our mission was to observe the Borg, determine their intentions and alert
Starbase Everest if there was a possible threat. We were operating under a
Yellow Alert when Commander Solo of the USS Excelsior came onboard. He was
here to visit his sister-in-law, Lt. Commander Dana Torres. Lieutenant (jg)
McKenzie was operating as the Chief Medical Officer during my absence. Upon
my return, I was disappointed to see that Lt. Commander Torres was engaging
the medical staff in a Terran display of juvenile
behavior. I was quite distressed by the scene and to my Vulcan
embarrassment... displayed my emotions. I become involved in the exchange
between Lt. Commander Torres and Commander Solo. It appeared that she was
uncertain of his identity. Upon Dana's request, Commander Solo contacted her
sister Lieutenant Commander Grace, and requested her presence in Sickbay. A
heated encounter ensued between the sisters. I ordered Lt. Commander Grace
out of the sickbay as the Columbia went to Red alert. I was
temporarily distracted by Commander Solo's questioning of my medical
abilities. I excused myself to deal with injuries that were reporting to
sickbay as a result of a direct attack by the Borg on our port nacelle.*(see
sickbay report: 9607.16) Although many of the injuries sustained were minor
in nature, we did receive five cases that were classified as Serious and
Unstable. We are currently docked at Starbase Everest. My apologies to my
medical department for allowing the sickbay to become a replica
of Tantalus V... the Federation's penal colony.

detected us, and began fireing. Luckily, I had been developing some new
manuevers, and I believe they payed off, although some crewmembers stomachs
did turn inside out a few times.
=Sounds like I missed a lot=
Shadup. Anyway, the Borg scored a goal on or port nacelle, so as a result we
were trying to escape from the borg at a zippin’ along warp 2.5. However, we
made it to Everest and the Borg, I guess, probobly took up station somewere

Computer begin log

FLt Rigel = Acting Chief Engineer
USS Columbia
NCC 101744

Our encounter with the Borg, although succesful has left our ship quite
damaged.
There are hull breaches on 8 decks that are being contained by force field
and shields. All personnel has been evacuated from these areas.. estimate
repair time 4 days.

We also need to run a level 5 diagnostic on the warp core to ensure that it
was not damaged by either the Borg attack or the unorthodox power transfers
to supply shields and weapons with power .. eta 3 days.

Shields are in need of repair eta 2 days

Weapon systems are operational but need full diagnostics and re-supply of all
torpedos.

Miscelaneous repairs are needed to other ship systems:
Science consoles, Helm, Tactical boards.. eta 5 days

Main Engineering has a hull breach.. repair time 2 days.

Transporter systems were not affected, although I have ordered a level 5
diagnostic here as well to ensure that their efficiency is 100%.

Port Nacelle... was damaged..again .. Lt OneStar re-routed power from the
starboard nacelle in case we were required to go to warp. repair eta 5 days.

I want to commend Lts David OneStar and Juan Santiago for going above and
beyond the call of duty and exposing themselves to personal danger in order
to maintain what little systems were available to continue our battle with
the Borg.

I understand the Ens Larue's nanites did the job. With luck they will affect
the entire borg community.

Starbase Everest seems to have sustained major damage. I will keep our
department on standby to assist with repairs.

[Begin Log]
The away team (consisting of LtCdr Tomalak, Lt Haworth, Cdr Korg, and myself)
beamed to the Borg ship in preparation to plan the Nanites (along with the
Everest away team with Lt McGill, the inventor of the plan) and to implement
my logic virus to destroy the Borg ship's communications and shields. The
beaming to the ship was the easy part.

Once on the ship, we proceeded toward the computer core. I was in constant
contact with Lt. McGill. While we waiting for the Nanites to be planted by
the Everest Away Team, the Borg began to appear -- it was their ship after
all, but we were trying to be covert. The Columbia away team protected me
well, as I tracked the process of the Nanites and sent the logic virus once
they were planted. Outside communications from the Borg ship went down
within two minutes -- but the shields stayed up a full eight minutes longer
than anticipated. During that delay, the Borg were firing continually on the
Columbia, the Infinity and Starbase Everest and doing a lot of damage. Once
we were finally able to leave the Borg ship and transport back to the
Columbia, things got even worse. Borg began to transport to our ship and
were on all decks.

I was called to the bridge and tried to explain why it was taking so long to
lower the Borg shields. All I could say was we didn't have a Borg test ship
to try this one first .. the test was the real thing and the Borg data
defenses were as formidable and their ship defenses. Finally, after sending
an additional logic adjustment, the shields came down. Just in time as the
Captain had started the self-destruct sequence and I was thinking of all the
OTHER careers mother had recommended! We destroyed the Borg ship .. but just
one...there are many more in many places. I hope to be more prepared the
NEXT TIME.

Chief Medical Officer
USS Columbia NCC 101744

We have won the battle. It was touch and go during our encounter with the
borg... Our skills and ingenuity were put to the test. When we reached
Starbase Everest the borg were hot on our tail. With an estimated buffer
time of five minutes, Captains' Lynx and Ultimo organized an attack plan. An
Away team from both the Columbia and the Starbase rendezvoused on the Borg
ship. Their mission was to 'infect' the neural processing system of the Borg
with a logic virus carried by Nanites. The goal of the
infection was to allow a window of opportunity for our weapons to finish the
task. The infection process was the dream of an assistant medical officer
stationed on the Everest. The programming of the Nanites with a logic virus
was the creation of our own Ensign Larue in Science. Both of these officers
deserve commendations for their originality. I know that without their help
the battle would have turned out differently. As it turned out, we sustained
moderate and severe structural damage, but no
loss of life. Injuries were minimal requiring only equipment that could be
obtained from emergency medical kits. I am thankful for this... as the
structural damage to the sickbay would have made more extensive surgical
proceedures impossible to perform. *(See Medical Report. for listing of
injuries sustained.)

The process of cleaning and repairing the Sickbay for battle readiness will
require some additional time. Initial estimate: four days of moderate
increases in resources to replicate and repair damaged equipment.

MEDICAL REPORT: The Borg Encounter of 9607.21
Total number of patients seen by medical personnel: 43
Triage Breakdown : Class 1 (critical, unstable) 00
Class 2 (critical, stable) 00
Class 3 (serious) 01
Class 4 (ambulatory) 42
Of the 42 personnel treated and released... most injuries sustained involved

right Humerous, severing the Circumflex nerve and Radial artery. Second
degree burns noted in surrounding tissue.
Diagnosis: Plasma laceration from encounter with the Borg.
Treatment: 30cc of b-Endorphine administered via hypospray solution. A
Septic pen was used to debried the wound. Detronal Scanners identifed neural
connections and arterial remnants. An Autosuture was used to meld the
Circumflex nerve and Radial artery... with good success. 20 cc's of
Hydoralyn was applied to burns and two minutes of treatment with the
Protodynoplaser to boost immune system.
Prognosis: Patient was released to duty with slight modification. Prevent

After all ready having a small encounter with the borg the Columbia made her
way back to Starbase Everest , joining forces with the USS Infinity all ready
on station .
After beaming the away team onto the borg ship , I was called to the bridge
to take over helm .
and Immeaditly began to follow the captain`s orders to intercept .
It began to look like we were going to lose the fire-fight when the away
team`s nanites began doing thier job and the borg shielding dropped a few
percent .
The Columbia by this time had taken a severe beating damage done on all decks
but the worst was a hull breech in engineering and the port nacelle . I`ve
made some suggestions to FLT. Rigel
and put in a modification request to rectify these problems ..
Capt. Ultimo had begun auto-destruct sequence , when it looked bad for us .
The Infinity having been seriously damaged herself drew fire away from us
until FLT.Rigel and LTjg Chago stabilized the ship`s systems .
The Capt . cancelled auto-destruct and after the borg ship had dropped
shields ( nanites work )
and gave the order to fire the TAILS system wich destroyed the borg ship .
We are now currently docked at Starbase Everest , repairing damaged systems
and cleaning up the mess ..

We have been ordered to monitor the Romulan/Federation border in the Tolnak
system. There have been reports of Romulan Warbirds on the Romulan side and
we were advised to prevent any crossover by those ships into Federation
space. I was viewing my reports from the Borg incident, when the computer
noted a space anomaly in grid 613. Lt Rigel uploaded the readings to the
main computer and I have been reviewing them.

Normally, this would be a mundane operation and the readings kept for future
analysis by the bean counters the Federation employs to track every iota of
data about anything. It really is important to track all this, but it always
seems so b-o-r-i-n-g. This time, though, I'm not so sure. Shortly after we
passed by this anomaly, several members of the senior staff began to behave
oddly -- nothing really big, just little things. One of the medical ensigns
said Commander Korg came into the sick bay and thought he was married to
Commander Phar. They aren't married and that's something you figure they
would BOTH remember.

I was called to the bridge and the Captain was there, but he wasn't acting
like he usually does - none of the usual back and forth talk, he was just
very severe. Maybe he had a headache! Then, the next I knew, no one was on
the bridge except Lt Tracy and I. Now that is really strange. Lt Cdr Torres
came to the bridge and after some talk with the Captain, she indicated to
Tracy and I to go to the turbolift. From the way she acted, something is
definitely going on -- hope this is just some off-the-wall drill the Captain
has thought up (wouldn't be the first time). Maybe the water filtering
system is acting up and everybody got Giordia or something. Glad I only
drink Ocla. Must end log now, Lt Cdr Torres wants to talk with Lt. Tracy and
me.

Chief Torres and First lieutenant Rigel had a heated exchange of words in
Chief Torres's office and then First lieutenant Rigel left ME. Chief Torres
left me in charge of ME and went to the bridge...Dave Onestar and myself
started a checklist that Chief Torres had left us to do when Captain Ultimo
ordered us to report to the observation lounge conference room...he told us
that we were all part of an extensive away team that would beam down to the

dilithium crystals that supposedly are found in this planet (one which i
dont know the name of...) the strange thing about all this was that dave was
not really acting coherent and both First lieutenant Eduard Haworth and

but we had to beam down tricordes in hand and at this time we are searching

After leaving Starbase Everest we were assigned to monitor Romulan activity
in the tolnac system . Romulan forces have began to gather on "their" side of
the zone .
En-route to the system a sub-space anomoly was detected and scanned ,
afterwards things began to change with the command structure , People were
beginning to act odd ..
some examples are ... Commander Korg insists he`s married to LtCdr Phar (
ships doctor )
and to my knowledge there not .. All tho I may be mistaken about such facts
..
The second thing noticed was Flt. Rigel wasn`t acting like himself at all ..
emotional outbursts
such as making advances to Chief Torres in her office and yelling at the
crewmen on his way out.
Third such item noticed was the Captain has ordered all male persons into
searching for dialithium chrystals on a planet which appears to have no
deposits at all .
The fourth and last item was Lt (jg) chago seemingly over-reacting to every
situation , being on edge .. Uncharacteristic to say the least ..
My thoughts are that when the anomaly was scanned it gave a resontant signal
return affecting
all male personal mentally at this time ..As to the affects on myself are
unknown , but Im sure that must seem that way to us all ..
Being planet-side Im unable to conform these facts or thoughs with Lt (jg)

chance I might be over-heard ..

A interesting situation has arisen, It appears that my Captain, his first

hold ranks beyond Liuetenant and some are department heads.
I think I have discovered the reason for our predicament and the Captain has
ordered me to find a way to remedy our situation.
The Captain has ordered all the male officers off the ship, leaving women to
carry on with ships operations.
I find that the female officers think as thought they are equals to the men
aboard the ship, that is one of the things that clued us in to the fact that
we were not where we should be.
Commander Korg is off chasing his woman, not minding his position. I must

I hope to resolve the problem within a few days if these pesky females keep

Duty Log SD 9608.02
First Lt. Edward Haworth
Asst. Tac. Officer
USS-Columbia NCC-101744
Away team, Tolnak 2

>Computer, open duty log, verification **********

Our pursuit of the Rommies has been called off, I have been assigned to an
away team to, much to my concern, search for Dilithium deposits on this
planet. I find it hard to believe that we would chase a Romulan ship into
their space only to give up and search for mineral deposits. To add to my
concerns all the male crew have been assigned to the AT and *Tracy* has been
left in command of the bridge! Add to this the strange behaviour of several
officers, most notably Rigel, Korg and the Captain
and my suspicions are really running high. I am not alone in this, Ltjg's
Santiago and Onestar have also raised their feelings with me. I am meeting
with them to discuss our concerns later. So far our attempts to locate any
Dilithium deposits on the planet have failed. Preliminary scans of the
planets have, I have learned, confirmed my suspicions that they do not
exist. I have the upmost trust in the Captain, but I am forced to consider
that we have been infiltrated by unknown alien agent(s).
I hope I am proved wrong. I will discuss our options with Santiago and
Onestar later.

>Computer, close log

>Computer, please make a note of my consternations about our present
situation and add to the ship's record.

Well all I can say is that my shift began perfectly normal but it did not end
that way at all. I went to ME and checked in with Juan and Dave on repairs
and such and I proceeded to check on the status of the warp core. I was
curious who had done the work on the warp core because it was excellent. Oh
well I guess I will have to find that out and do something when things return
to normal. Anyway I went to my office to check on somethings. I came out to
ask Juan about a descrepency and Rigel walked past
me into my office. I followed him back in to see what he needed. He was
sitting on my desk when I came in. Not normal for him at all. Anyway he
proceeded to talk to me in a most unusual way. I have to admit that we have
started a relationship but he knows as well as I do that we cannot persue it
while on duty. I told him to stop and he did not listen. He somewhat
attacked me. Since I am not up to full strength I fought him off to the best
of my ability. I told him to get out of my office and he
left saying that I had lost out. I followed him out and told him to
standfast and all he did was ignore me and yell at my officers. He left ME
and went somewhere I could not determine. I left Juan in charge and
proceeded to the bridge to talk to the Capt. I asked him to talk to me in
private and he said he could talk later. I enphasized the importance and he
again said to talk later. I then made my request more clear to him and he
did finally agree to meet with me for five minutes. I told him
the problem with Rigel and he said he would talk to him later. I was then
ordered off the bridge. I left after I had my final words with him. I
entered the TL and tried to find Rigel again. He was not registering on the
computer so I comed him myself. He kept saying he was busy and that he could
not talk to me. I told him he could at least give me a few minutes and he
ignored me. I went back to ME to find noone there except my female officers.
I ask some where Juan and Dave were and they said that
they had been asked to come to the OL. I went back to the Bridge to find
only Tracy and Larue there. Tracy was in charge none the less. I asked her
where everyone was and she said they were all meeting in the OL. Phar then
comed for security to her location. I answered her back and told her to get
up to the bridge. She seemed very frantic for the Doc. She is usually more
composed then that but if she had be experiencing the same type of things I
had been experiencing then it fit. Ultimo came
back on the Bridge and went straight to his ready room. I dont know where
the other male officers were but I got Larue and Tracy to follow me onto the
TL as soon as possible. I deceided that we needed to talk alone and I plan
to have a full meeting with Larue, Jeze, Phar and Tracy so we can figure out
what the heck is happening.

Chief Engineer
USS Columbia NCC-101744

::Dana is sitting in her office looking across her desk at FtLtTracy and Ltjg
Larue. She is tapping her fingers on the desk top and frowning::

Tracy>::stands from her seat::I really dont understand what is going on!!

Larue>::looks up at her and nods::I think we are all in the same boat Tracy.

Tracy>::getting frustrated::But what are we going to do? ::looks at
Dana::Cdr, what are we going to do?

::Dana continues to tap and gaze off::

Larue>::stands up next to Tracy::Cdr Torres!!

Dana>::snaps out of her daze and focuses on the two officers::What are we
going to do?

::They nod together::

Dana>Well first we need to make us a control area. I want to put up some
forcefields around engineering. At least we can have ultimate control over
the ship from here.

Tracy>::suspeciously::You think that is really necessary?

Dana>::looks both Larue and Tracy in the eyes and nods::Yes I do!!

Larue>::nods::Understood Cdr. I can work on that.::She turns and heads out
to ME::

Tracy>::watching her leave she turns back to Dana::Listen I know we dont get
along but I dont know whats going on with the Capt, Korg and Rigel and it
scares me and I just want you to know that I will do what you say.

Dana>::smiles::I appricate that Tracy. Ok, I have a job for you. I need you
to go to my console in ME and try to reroute some things where we can contact
SB without anyone knowing.

Tracy>::confused::Ok, who do we need to contact?

Dana>::stands::We need to contact Jeze, thats where she was last.

Tracy>::understanding::Right I get it, you dont want those three knowing huh?
::smiles:: I am on it Dan..Commander. ::she walks out of the office::

::Dana sits back down and thinks. She knows that Phar was with the Capt and
could possibly need some help. She also thinks that she needs to sneak onto
the bridge and lock out all engineering access. She looks down at her leg
braces and thinks::I don't know if I can do this!!::She looks at a picture of
her and Grace a few months ago and smiles, then she looks out her office
window to Rigel's station. She turns red with anger and stands up
determined:: I will not loose him now!!::she walks out of the
office and calls Larue and Tracy over::

Dana>::looks around and grabs her engineering case and continues to look for
her phaser:: Where is it?

Tracy>::grins and grabs Dana's phaser from her console and carries it
over::Here you go Chief...

Dana>::smirks::I am losing my mind.

Larue and Tracy>::stands in front of Dana.::What's up?::together::

Dana>::laughs::Well I would like it if you two could continue working on
those tasks. I am going to the bridge to cut engineering control and see how
Phar is doing.

Larue>::nods::Thats no problem Cdr. I will have that forcefield up and ready.
No one but us will be able to get in and out.

Dana>::nods::Good::turns to Tracy::We need to contact Jeze as soon as
possible Lt.

Tracy>::nods::Aye. ::she turns and walks back to the CE's console::

::Dana nods to Larue and puts her phaser in its case and hooks it to her
side. She leans down and makes sure the leg braces are secure. She sighs
and heads to the TL::

Dana>::turns back::I will keep in touch, I want that forcefield up as soon as
possible regardless of if I am back or not.

Larue>Understood. Good Luck Cdr.

::Dana turns back and steps into the TL::

Dana>::to herself::Ok, here we go!!!

Duty Log LtCdr Tomalak
Second Officer/Chief of Security
USS Columbia-NCC 107741-A

After some small rather unimportant encouters with the Romulans,we
headed for the Tolnak sytem. It was believed that several of the planets there
were rich with dilithium. This system is located toward the border of the
Romulan Neutral Zone.I,Haworth,Brad,Thei,Chago,Doc,and others??,beamed down
to Tolnak 4.Apparently,Captain Ultimo,Commander Caramon (Korg),and First
Lieutenant Rigel were 'switched' into an Alterante dimension. The means of
their 'switch' is currently unknown,As Cheif of Security I
am searching for possibilties to ensure it does not happen again, while this
is extremely time-consuming,I think I'll have it fixed soon.Upon arrival to
the planet surface,we all began our scans for Dilithium,Thei and myself also
scanning for threats. We detected quite a bit of dilithium, primarily in
between 60-90 meters under the planet surface.I am waiting for a report on
what happened to the Columbia during this time span.I detected that the
Columbia had left orbit and was leaving the system.I informed
the AT.Apparently Haworth had been injured.Ensign Doc persisted in pestering
us about sedating Lt Cdr Haworth. He finally gave up.Myself and Chago worked
on a distress signal sender. We connected parts of the tricorder to
communicators and phaser capacitators.A detailed blueprint is in Security and
Engineering librarys. We got it to work, and I sent our message. Not long
after, the natives on the planet, who are at about 5 on the Federation
Technological Scale, began attacking us with projectile weapons. We all
began firing our phasers at them at the setting of five, thermal effects.Soon
we were all shot down except Thei. After numerous assaults we were
surrounded, and soon surrendered.Had the Columbia not have beamed us up,I was
going to set one my phasers on overload, and blow them all up.When we returned
we went to SB,were fixed up,and resumed our stations.

I started out in ME with Lt (jg) Larue. I got the com link I'd
been working on, then tried to modify it to listen to the bridge and RR. I
told Larue to finish it, because I was going to the bridge. Since there was
about nobody on the ship, only (Lt) Commander Dana Torres was on the bridge.
A dead Alt Rigel was there too, actually. Alt Ultimo had killed Alt Korg,
then beamed to the Sci Lab. (Lt) Commander
Phar came out of the RR onto the bridge. Lt (jg) Larue informed us she was at
the emergency Science station. Then the power was cut..... Larue joined the
Commanders and I and we carried Alt Rigel's and Alt Korg's bodys to the HD
where all three (including Alt Ultimo) went through the rift (we sorta threw
the two bodys through...). Our real Captain Ultimo, Commander Korg, and (Fst)
Lt Rigel came out of the rift soon after. The AT was beamed up, then.

Congrats to Lt Cdr Eddy Haworth!

Duty Log SD 9608.08
Lt. Cdr Edward Haworth
Asst. Tactical Officer
USS-Columbia 101744

***Begin Log***

After some time spent searching for Dilithium crystals, now known to be a
wild goose chase, Lt. Santiago and myself decided on a plan to facilitate
our return to the ship. We started a rock slide which pinned me to the
ground, however our request for an emergency transport to SB was ignored.
The Columbia then, much to our concern, went into warp and left the system.
After freeing myself from the debris, (My injuries were not serious for a
Klingon) and shaking off the efforts of an over zealous
ensign (recomeding for promotion) to sedate me, we began to take stock of
our situation. Eventually, after Lt. Santiago was able to knock up a
distress beacon, we began to search for food, water and shelter.
Unfortunately we were not able to get very far into our search when we were
attacked by natives of the planet (Tolnak 2). Although they were armed only
with primitive projectile weapons propelled by a controled chemical
explosion, their sheer numbers began to overwhelm us. Myself and many
others were injured but we continued to fight, eventually with hand and
Bat'telh, the battle lost Lt Cdr Tomalak surrendered to them. I was about
to take my life rather than be captured, when suddenly we were beamed back
to the ship. Upon debreifing I learnt that Captain Ultimo, Cdr Korg and Lt
Rigel had somehow been sucked into a parralel universe. In their place was
sent their alter egos from the afore mentioned universe. This explains the
out of character actions of the Captain and the
others. I believe that the during the time in our reality the alternate
Korg and Rigel, had been killed in scuffels on the ship. Somehow the rift
had been reopened in the HD, the alt. Captain and the two bodies were
returned throught the rift and the 'real' Ultimo, Rigel and Korg came back.
There were many injuries sustained during this incident, we must do what we
can to prevent it happening again.

Ltjg Larue, Science Department
USS COLUMBIA
Duty Log

<Begin Log>
The past 48 hours have been very intense and most of that time I was not sure
what was going on. As documented in my last log, the Captain and Cdr Korg
both showed signs of not being themselves. At first I meant that
figurtively, but soon found out that they, along with Lt. Rigel, were not
themselves -- they were altrenate entities from some sort of parallel
universe.

It is know theorized that those three were on the holodeck when we passed the
rift anomaly that seemed to be benign. It was probably this rift that caused
an opening to occur momentarily between dimensions that allowed an exchange
of beings three for three. The alternate persons were not glaringly
different, but subtly so, with the exception that Cdr Korg did not have the
prosthetic arm. Zaire of Vulcan has long theorized that all humanoid (and
felinoid) lifeforms have one or more duplicates in other dimensions that may
follow similar or drastically different life paths. This theory has been
proven on two known occasions and partially proven through various time
travel incidents. If Zaire theory is true, then death or injury in one
dimension does not occur simultaneously in another. This was proven in our
case since Cdr Korg and Lt Rigel were both killed in our dimension but were
returned from the alternate universe alive, although injured.

It was also Zaire's theory that the basic essence of a person, as it pertains
to good and evil, was destined to be the same in all dimensions. While a
person may be more "evil" in one dimension or another, the basic leaning
remains the same. A person who leaned toward good, but because of
circumstances in their environment became cruel or law breaking, would still
tend to do "good" if given the option and if that action would not impact
their "real" life. The Captain was a good example of this. Though he was
much rougher and ruthless in the other dimension, he retained the basic
integrity that we admire in the Captain in our dimension.

Via communications with Lt Cdr Phar and using the emergency science console,
I was able to work out the timing and location of the dimensional shift in
order to give Lt Tracy the correct coordinates required to return our three
to their rightful place. Once this was done, our crew was able to return
from the wild goose chase and all are currently back in place.

Duty Log. Stardate 9608.07
LtCdr Angel Phar
Chief Medical Officer
USS Columbia NCC -101744

It is difficult to relate the circumstances of the past fortyeight solars
hours, without suspending one's concrete notions of time and space. I have
recorded previous logs dealing with my suspicions regarding the *Intruder*
representaing Commander Korg Caramon. The *situation* proved to be more
significant than I had originally imagined. I was aware that the being
representing Cdr Caramon was not the Columbia's Cdr. Korg, because he lacked
the prosthetic forearm of our Commander.

Through a series of equipment malfunctions, I was unable to contact security
in an effective manner and sought the bridge personnel, directly. When I
arrived on the bridge, I was informed that all personnel had been transported
to an adjacent planet in search of Dilitium crystals. This casued me great
concern and I pursued the Captain for clarification. I was prepared to
relieve the Captain of his duties, if his answers were not within Starfleet
perameters. While we were in the ready room... the
Captain... or the being that was impersonating the Captain... made it
obvious that he was not the Captain Ultimo Hebein that I have known during
the course of my tenure with Starfleet. A struggle ensued and the
*alternate* Captain escaped, but not before he vaporized the *alternate*
Commander Korg.

Freed from my imprisionment in the ready room, I contacted all available
personnel. I was greatly relieved to discover Lieutenant Commander Dana
Torres was not only aware of the *alternate* personalities, but had taken
steps to secure Engineering and to lock coordinates of the personnel on the
planet's surface. First Lieutenant Tracy assisted in securing the Columbia
back to it's rightful owners. Lieutenant (junior grade) Larue worked out the
schematics of the dimensional shift that had taken our
personnel and deposited the *alternate* personnel on our Columbia. Once
FstLt Tracy had played back the visual records of the Columbia during our
encounter with the rift... we knew that it was imperative to re-enact the
sequence of events to return *things* to our normal status.

First Lieutenant Rigel was also among the personnel that had shifted during
the rift. I am uncertain how Mr. Rigel met his demise here on the Columbia,
but I am certain that it was well deserved. Torres, Tracy and myself moved
the *remains* of the alternate personalities to the holodeck. Until we had
entered the holodeck suite, I was unaware of the location of the *alternate*
Captain. The encounter was peaceful and the *alternate* Captain appeared to
accept our efforts to return him and his crew to
his dimension. Lieutenant (jg) Larue coordinated the efforts and the
exchange was successful.

In the exchange... our Commander Korg was returned with injuries sustained by
bat'lteh. *(see Medical Report: Commander Korg). First Lieutenant Rigel is
currently in critical condition and efforts to stabilize his lifesigns are
tenuous. *(see Medical Report: First Lieutenant Rigel). Captain Ultimo
Hebein sustained no visible injuries and refused medical examination.
Lieutenant Commander Haworth sustained injuries on the planet's surface, he
is currently in serious but stable condition. *(see Medical
Report: Lieutenant Commander Haworth).

MEDICAL REPORT: Attending Physician: LtCdr. Angel Phar

Triage notations: Patient was transported to sickbay, never regaining
consciousness. An airway was established and arterial lacerations were
contained. Initial Glasglow Coma Scales Index: 5 our of 15. Eyes never
opening (1) Pupils unequal, yet reactive to light (2) Best Verbal Response...
none (1) Best Motor Response... none (1)
Triage Classification: Hypoxia aggravated brain stem injuries requiring
artifical circulatory and respiratory support. Classification: 2, critical,
unstable.
Initial Treatment: The Surgical Support Frame was activated at 22:00 hrs.
Initial scans indicate that the patient had received injuries and was left
untreated for approximately two hours.

OPERATIVE EVALUATION:

Working Diagnosis: Acute Subdural or Intracerebral hematomas, foci of primary
injuries; brainstem. Scans indicate the presence of Klebsiella-Enterobacter
in the Occipital Lobe, probably due to prolonged exposure of an open wound to
a contaminated surface. Additional injuries include class 2 lacerations to
the torso and right Ulna.

Pre-Operative Status: Critical, stable.

Surgical Notations: Artifical circulation and respiration initiated and
maintained. Alpha Neural Blockers were applied bilaterally for neurosurgical
examination and treatment. Additional units of plasma and electrolytes were
infused. Depressed fractures were manually manipulated. Metorapan therapies
applied at reduced levels to secure occipital tissues. Skull fracture
aligned and prepped for regeneration. A partial oxygenation of 40% and an
IPPB were used to discourage spread of infection.
Emergency management of lacerated vessels initiated. An Photodynoplaser
was used to connect vessels and neural endings. .008 mcg of necrotic tissues
were removed and the wound debreded. An Grerlak Automated Shunt and Filter
were introduced to drain and purify contaminated cerebral spinal fluid.
Patient tolerated surgical intervention well... increased muscular/convulsive
activities occured at 23:51 hours necessitating 5 mg. of Haloperiodol.

Prognosis: Upgraded to Serious Condition. Motor activities demonstrate that
neural pathways are intact and functioning... a good sign. Antibiotic
therapy will begin when patient has regained consciousness. Watch for signs
of infection or neurological injury... such as short term amnesia.

""Working...Start log entry at your convinience..."

:::Chago looks quizically at the computer screen....::: "Riiight...."

As part of the away team I tried to follow orders on an impossible and
improbable and completely out of this world away mission...the first order of
business was to get a rescue beacon working and i did this with the help of
LcdrTomalak as he gave me his comunicator so i could boost the signal
emmiter.. i used my engineering tricorder as a signal generator and processor
and used both Tomalak's and My comunicators to cycle throught the frequencies
and maintain a high output signal on all
frequencies...

Lcdr Hayworth, Ens Thei and Ens Doc looks for something to eat.. that
was when we found out that the Columbia left orbit.. and left us stranded on
the planet...

About the time that the rescue beacon was ready and LcdrTomalak had
recorded a message i turned it on and it worked... We were then visited by
the local equivalent of a welcoming committee which wasnt too thrilled to see
us there.. and proceded to let us Know in a very Loud, unpleasant, very
unfreindly and extreamly painfull way just How much the disliked our being
there...We responded in turn with Starfleet's verion of a "Hello/Goodbye"
we stunned them to hell and back... but not without our share of casualties..
including myself (hit on the leg.. flesh wound) it was when we were about to
meet out maker when we were saved by the Columbia's transport out of that
"Hot LZ"....

:::Thinking::: i have toi stop reading those late 20th century war
novels...

Ok Computer .. thats the end of this log.... save and signoff...

"Working...Log entry has been saved and pertinent copies have been sent to
your department head and to the ship's permanent log..."

My shift was very interesting and I spent most the time trying to figure out
what the heck was going on with Korg, Ultimo and Rigel. I went to the bridge
to see if I could use a jumper box to give me the power I needed to use the
trasporters in engineering to bring the AT back up but when I got there Cdr
Korg proceeded to fire at me with his phaser. Not being at my fastest I was
grazed and made my way to the engineering console as he ran out or something.
I put the jumper box on the connection and
headed back to engineering. Noone was there so I went back to the bridge to
make sure Tracy, and Larue were ok. When I arrived I found Fst Lt Rigel in
two different pieces. At that time I still did not know that they were not
this normal Columbia's officer and I paniced somewhat. Phar came from
somewhere and told me that they were from a AU and that we needed to get them
back so we could get out officers back. I told her we first lost them in the
holodeck. She asked me to pick up the parts of
Rigel and she scooped up the ashes of Korg and we went to the HD expecting
to find the AU Ultimo. We did and she persuaded him to take his crewmates
back so we could have ours and when the normal Korg, Rigel and Ultimo made it
back two were critically injured.

We were investigating for a possible Romulan use of Tolnak 5,which
would provide them access to nearly every Federation defense along the
Neutral Zone.We detected distortions across the Neutral Zone.Science, and
myself researched the planet and cross-references.We detected a shuttle and a
structure on the North continent,Captain Ultimo was going to lead an Away
Team, but Commander Korg objected, and he led the AT instead.I finished all my
security scans and soon a Romulan Warbird decloaked, inside of
the Neutral Zone.We hailed it,and I acted like a Vulcan,hoping the Commander
would not recognize me.He did and demanded Ultimo to surrender me.Ultimo
refused, and a battle began,we beamed up the AT.I told 1st Lieutenant Haven to
target thier forward Disruptor array. He did and it exploded.Soon the Mary
Land came and fired. The Romulan warbird retreated.

Duty Log

<Begin Log>
At the start of my shift, we were ordered to the Tolnak system to maintain a
watch on the Federation boundry and to investigate possible Romulan activity
on the surface of the planet Tolnak5. Lt. Killian Sylver, an exo-geologist,
joined us for this mission. I welcome her assistance. As a xenobiologist
myself, I am pleased to have someone with her expertise join us.

Scanning of the planet surface revealed a Class M planet with no apparent
altercations in progress. The Captain gathered an Away Team to explore the
planet, with the intent of leading the team himself. However, XO Korg, in
keeping with his responsibilities to keep the Captain safe, pointed out the
possible dangers and thus led the team himself. Lt Tracy, from Ops, and Lt.
Sylver joined the Away Team, which ended up being of great benefit.

As I scanned the planet and noted the safe arrival of the AT, a Romulan
warbird de-cloaked off our starboard bow. It seems the Commander of the
warbird recognized one of our away team members, Lt. Cdr. Tomalak, as an
alleged traitor of the Romulan empire. This, of course, is non-founded as
all non-Starfleet Romulans view Starfleet Romulans as traitors! This
Commander demanded the immediate surrender of LC Tomalak to the Romulan ship
which the Captain took exception to and a war of words began.

While this was going on, on the planet's surface, there were other
interesting developments. I had scanned a structure of medium size that
appeared old but may have been made to look that way via holographic
projection. Our team checked this out and found supplies, equipment, etc
along with a replicator-like object that could be one of many things. This
prompts me to theorize the Romulans are (A) planning to take over the planet
but keep communications semi-normal so the Federation won't know, (B) set up
a facility camouflaged from the sparse population there which will be used as
a base, (C) they wish to make a base to be used one-time to start a major
infiltration of the entire sector, or (D) any combination of the above or
something entirely different.

Lt. Tracy and Lt. Sylver both have gathered much data from the surface -- I
am anxious to review their reports to come to some type of logical
explanation or hypothesis.

As the war of words escalated, it became apparent our AT might be in great
danger. At the Captains request, I set up an emergency transport program to
continually mark the locations of the Away Team members in order to beam them
up immediately on the Captain's order. That order came as communications
broke off. The team was safely back on board as we fired and were fired
upon. The Maryland came to assist and shortly thereafter a portion of the
warbird was severly damaged and the ship retreated.

Looking forward to seeing what the Romulans have planned -- and in finding a
way to stop them, because I'm sure it isn't for the good of the Federation!

Begin Duty Log
Today was my first day back at work since the begining of my vacation.
LtCdr Phar is on shore leave so I wasd CMO. FstLtRigel was still in
sickbay from pre-existing injuries. EnsTerlak came in with a sprained ankle.
He said he tripped in a childs coloring marker outside the turbolift. I had
ENSDOC attend to him when LCrDTOrres came in. She was having problems with
her brace, which we quickly fixed. FstLtDanL came in with a headache which
ENSDOC took care off\, EnsTerlak was called away on a
away team mission in the middle of his treatment. ENSDOC came him a quick
hypospray and I told him to come back when he got back on the ship. While
hearing a conversation between FstLtRigel and ENSDOC I relized that ENSDOC
had not read the reports when he came on duty very well. I called him into
my office and told him to read them right now. He started reading them and I
left to check reports. Once FstLtRigel andLCrDTOrres were alone they
started talking. They seemed to be having an important
conversation and they wern't disturbing anyone so I let them talk. I
couldn't find the inventory report from yesterday and went to my office to
find it. ENSDOC was reading it and while we were reading it FstLtRigel and
LCrDTOrres's conversation started getting to loud. I asked them to quite
down a bit. I got finished looking at the report and went back to doing other
things. ENSDOC fainted and was quickly o.k by a quick unjection from a
hypospray. HE said he was o.k but a bit tired. I told him
to do the office work and I would attend to patients. I went back into the
lab and worked on some stuff in which FstLtRigel got away from sickbay. I
noticed he was missing and went to ENSDOC to figure out if he knew where he
went. ENSDOC fainted(again) and this time hitting his head on the table.
I checked him with a bio scanner and FstLtRigel came back in. HE helped move
ENSDOC to a bio bed. FstLtRigel laid down on his bio bed because he was
feeling dizzy. ENSDOC regained consciousness but
still was disoriented.

I brought Alezis, my daughter, to work with me this morning so I could do a
physical for her since
she's new on the ship. After I was done I took her back and dropped of some
more medicine for
Audrey, my other daughter. I got back and checked reports. I made a few
reports on FstLtRigel. EnsJones came in with a sprained wrist from tripping
in her quarters on her dog's toy. I healed it and told her to be gentle on
it, nothing strenous. I left for a short lunch and came back. I checked
over some more reports and with the help of ENSDOC we checked equipment. We
are low on a few things which I sent an order in for. Most of the things we
needed were medicine and the like. I finished my
shift with making out reports.

Another interesting duty shift. We were sent to find out what the Romulans
were doing by the border. There was a planet, Tolnak5 I think, that was
nearby. Lt (jg) Larue and (?)Killian were assigned to work with me to find if
there was anything on the surface. We found some sort of structure. Captain
Ultimo assigned Ens Terlak, Killian and I to the AT. Commander Korg insisted
that he should take the AT, for safety reasons. When we got to the planet, I
got out my tricorder and picked up some *company*.
Ens Terlak and Killian went off somewhere, while Commander Korg followed me.
We got to the structre and I told the Commander he could help Ens Terlak and
Killian, who were being attacked. He left and I went into the structure. I
had to call him back because I had some holographic *company* of my own.
Commander Korg covered me as I went through a hole in a panel where I
beleived the Holoprojecters were. I wiped out 3 of them, and then was beamed
back up. I was told to work with Lt (jg) Larue. I will need
to talk to her about my discoveries.....

An Awayteam was sent to the planet and just as they beamed out a power
spike was registered on the status board for TR-1.. I checked and it turned
out to be a missalinged patterne buffer relay conduit.. I proceeded to reset
the relay and it was corrected. Just then we whent into Red Alert Status.. I
proceeded to activate the Automation sequencer and all the main systems were
brough online and the computer started to constantly monitor them.. and
compensate for any type of systems overload or

I recieved a notification that trhe foward Torpedoe Launchers were

and announonced their readiness to the bridge.

We got out of the firefight with some damage to the starboard nacelle...

calm. Lt Grant came in.
He somehow hit his arm on something hard(he thinks it was the board) while
diving. He hit it hard
enough to dislocate the bone. Once I got it back into position I got him
healed and told him to come
back in a few days or if his arm starting hurting. EnsJones came back in
for a check up on her
wrist. It was fine and it's about completly healed. I checked some of the
reports some of the other
assistants in sickbay and then made mine. Just as my shift was about to
end. FstLt Smith(if you
can't tell I'm running out of last names) came in with some deep scratches
when she tried to break up
a fight between her cat and dog. By the time I had cleaned out her wound
and fixed it it was time for
me to go off duty. I quickly added her incident into my reports and left.

I am feeling physically much better, but I fear that I have suffered some
memory loss. This would explain what I thought was Commander Torres' odd
behaviour and the fact that all Engineering systems were different from what
I remember.
I must commend Commander Pharr for the excellent work in reparing the wounds
I sustained in the alternate Universe.
I will request that I be allowed to return to duty, so I can analyse the data
I recorded in the other universe..

It appears that the anomaly we encountered was a masked spatial rift, that
when replicated in the holodeck created a vortex that transported The
Captain, Cmdr Korg and I into an alternate dimension.. another Columbia.
It is apparent that we entered another time line, an alternative present..
not a different time. The ship was very similar to this one, the difference
is that it was a pirate ship. Discipline was maintain by means of
intimidation. There was no gender equality. The males were dominant and held
the high ranks, the females were on the ship to serve the senior officers...
none were departement heads.
All 3 of us found it amusing to watch the interaction among the crew members,
and we found it easy to fall in to our part. I understand that our
counterparts came thru the vortex at the same time.
Analysis of this should yield that it was essencial in order to maintain
balance in the timelines and to avoid the rift becoming larger, or smaller.
In the other universe, relationships were obvious, not discreet as on our
ship.

Alt-Commander Korg was actually married to Alt- Lt Pharr, but at the same
time he kept a mistress Alt- Jeze.
After studying the biographies, I found that the Alt- Captain did not trust
his first officer, and was always looking for opportunities to compromise
him. There was a hate relationship between Commander Korg and Lt Cmdr Rigel
who on this vessel was the Chief of Engineering. Alt-Rigel, was a cold
hearted womanizer, his consort was Alt-Lt Dana Torres, but he was attempting
to take Alt-Jeze away from Korg as a way to provoke him into battle.
The Alt-Captain seemed to always keep a cold distance from his officers,
except for Cmdr Rigel and the relationship between them was honorable and
loyal.
The alt-Captain seemed to be smitten with Alt Pharr, and it appears that the
feeling was reciprocated, but I never was able to confirm that.

The Mission of this Columbia, was to seek out ventures that would yield high
profits to the senior officers. Every ship in this Federation was out for
itself, the only time they came together as a team was in the prescence of a
common enemy.

The Captain ordered me to try to find a way back, he and Korg would go to the
bridge and play their respective roles until I could come up with a solution.

FLt Rigel = Duty Log.. continued

During my research in the Science Lab, I was found by Lt Torres, who
proceeded to accuse me of infidelity. Knowing the role I was to play, I
laughed and ordered her back where she belonged, which she did .. allowing me
to compute the needed equations to recreate the vortex.
My main concern is that it was imperative that our Alt- counterparts had to
arrive to similar equations, and knowing the behaviour they were accostumed
to, our crew would realize soon that they were not what they should be and
would end up in the brig, which would trap all of us.
As soon as the equations were in the computer, I had them downloaded to a
secret file in the holodeck computer and advised the Captain that we were
ready to try the reversal but needed to return to the rift.
I remained in the Science lab until Commander Korg advised me to proceed to
the holodeck after we arrived to the anomaly sector. As I was leaving the
lab, I came face to face with an armed Lt Torres who proceeded to use both
her bat'tehl and phaser to keep me from getting thru as she screamed that I
would not be seeing Jeze today... I recall smiling and responding that I had
other objectives and walked away .. she then attacked me striking me from
behind with the bat'tehl and when turning to defend the
next blow .. a phaser shot. :::shakes head at memory:::
I somehow managed to leap and apply the Vulcan neck pinch on Lt Torres,
thereby disabiling her.
When I arrived in the holodeck I was met at the door by an also injured
Commander Korg,,, something about a fight with Eddy.

We downloaded the file and a vortex was recreated.. all 3 of us jumped
through.....

Well, we have had ourselves an interesting couple of encounters. First after
our little adventure at Tolnak 2, we proceeded to Tolnak 5 to investigate
reports of a possible Romulan base, that would give them an excellent
intercept station for our highly sensitive Neutral Zone transmissions. I
picked up a small shuttle of early Romulan design headed toward a massive
disturbance on the planets third continent. We then discovered several more
shuttles leaving the area of the disturbance. I examined
long-range sensor logs and discovered that shuttle activity on the planets
surface had increased by almost 40% upon our arrival. An away team beamed
down do discover a Romulan sentry post had been alerted to there presence at
as a result a firefight down on the planets surface erupted. At the same
time a Warbird decloaked ahead of us, and the Capt. along with the Romulan
commander exchanged thinly disguised threats, as the Romulan commander wanted
Cdr. Tomalak a.k.a. “the traitor” back for punishment.
The Capt., of course, would not here of this, and once again, I had an
opportunity to practice my newly made maneuvers against the Warbird. The
Warbird sustained moderate damage as we beamed the AT back up, and the
Warbird retreated to Romulan space.

Today marked my first day aboard the USS Columbia. I was placed in charge of
Tactiacl temporarily as Lieutenant Commander Brad was otherwise involved
elsewhere on the ship. We were oredered to investigat possible Romulan
activity on Tolnak 5 just inside the Neutral Zone. This was important
because from here, the Romulans could obtain access to Starfleet
communications and positioning along the Zone border.

We maintained our position along our side of the Neutral Zone and waited for
any signs of Romulan intervention. Within minutes, we engaged a Romulan
Warship decloaking directly in front of us. Shields and screens went up
automatically. The Warship made every attemp to threaten us and our response
was to main tain our position. The Romulans were in clear violation of
treaty.

Captain Ultimo ordered a warning shot fired and I fired a phaser burst upon
the vessel. They powered up their disruptors and returned fire. We engaged
in this type of battle for only a few minutes. Lieutenant Commander Tomalak
advised me to target their disruptor array. He said that that was their
weakest point of defense. I found it ironic that their weakest point of
defense was also their stronget point of offense. I began firing upon their
weapons and the Warship disengaged from their attack.

They turned and retreated, cloaking their ship as they returned top their
side of the Neutral Zone. All in all, an interesting first day here. I am
filled with anticipation at the days ahead and what they will bring to this
crew and ship. Ultimo seems like an excellent Captain and his crew stand
ready to carry out his orders.

Computer, open a duty log, please.

>Computer< Log open, you may begin when ready.

I arrived on the Columbia this morning. The Captain wasn't sure
where he wanted me to begin with, and since I had come from a science vessel,
he placed me temporarialy in Science. I have since learned that I am to be
an assisant tactical officer. I guess he thought that because I was only in
the top five percent of my class in weapons, I didn't know how to use them.
But, I won't try to second guess him. I am just glad that I am accepted and
can serve this vessel to the best of my abilities.
Anyway, I was sent to the bridge to report in and was put to work
before I even settled on the ship. It's a good thing I am always prepared
for anything. I did some scans from the surface and worked with a Lt. Larue
and Lt. Tracy. I find both of them compentant officers and I was proud to
work with them. Then, to my surprise and delight, I was chosen to go on the
AT. For one breif moment I had a twinge of doubt. The new guy going on an
AT usually means a test. If they come back, fine, if
not...well, no one knew them anyway. I guess I passed the test, I made it
back.
And....I made it back with some interesting information. Now, my specialty
has always been rock and energy, but that doesn't mean I am exlusive. I have
done my research on alternative weaponry. And from some of the cartons I
found in that storage unit on the surface, I would say that the Romulans are
working on something like that. I can't help remember some of the biologcial
weapons used by the Cardassians and Bajorans during the time of war between
them. And the Marquis, they use enough of them as
well. If the Romulans are working on something like that...we need to know
now so we can counter it. It is the only sound defense we have. I am hoping
that I am wrong. ::Sighs and looks at the readouts again:: I have turned it
over to Lt Larue as I have been transferred to the tactical department.
::Chuckles softly:: I wonder what they will think of a rock
slinging, tom boy, science geek, tactician. Well, I think I have a few
surprises up my sleeve and I don't think the Captain will be disappointed
with me in that department.
::Walks forward and frowns at one of the readouts:: Computer,

has recently discovered that he is 1/2 Klingon. Frowning at the fact, he
tells the computer to remind him to request verification from his .. adoptive
parents...
He then requests data on the USS Columbia, the computer asks which one and he
indicates NCC 89901. He reads the official log of the ship and how it was
destroyed by the Cardassians.. how Commander Jezebel Blythe lost her life...,
closing his eyes and concentrating he forces his mind to open that portal...
breathing slowly and calmly he probes and memories start to flow.. Captain
Mitch leaving for a new assignment, a Top secret one.. Captain Ultimo Hebein
assuming command, Commander Torres always at his
side... then pain.. not physical..emotional... he had loved her and she
chose the Captain... then a bright side.. friendship.. he smiles. Remembers
the sadness of losing Jezebel, he had always admired her, she was a great
first officer... another memory... she was pregnant! .. What a major loss...

Probing further, A new ship.. new enhancements... New Engineering officers
extremely competent ones too. Ens OneStar and Ens Santiago. ... Problems with
the Shield and phasers overheating.... battles.. the port nacelle always the
target!...A new XO.. a Klingon, very professional.. a new Medical Staff
...... >>breathing slows as the level of concentration reaches maximum<< .
Another memory.. a terran sport.. futbol, a major holodeck program... a
game... a game yet to finish.
Then a battle... where?.. holodeck...Commander Torres dressed in medieval
garb, a password *Hot Chocolate* .... Problems with the program.... the
holodeck is cold and the arch does not respond... a cave..

Phar> ::shaking Rigel:: Lieutenant..wake up ::slaps him hard to bring him
back from what she assumes is a healing trance::::

Rigel> ::eyes open::: yes doctor?

Phar> Are you alright? Your vital signs dropped too low!

Rigel> ::closing eyes:: I was trying to bring back the memory I have lost

Phar> ::shaking head::: any luck?

Rigel>::smiles:: I was able to retrieve some of them ..

Phar> Well Lt.. let me know before you try that again and that is an order! I
will not have you setting off all the alarms in sickbay.

Rigel> Aye :::falls into a deep dreamless sleep:::
