First Lieutenant Joseph W. Stone
Operations Manager
Station Nigala; System J-23, Delta Quadtrant
Duty Log entry:
In the aftermath of Engineering, we began various minor
repairs. Lieutenant Commander Harsh and I set to work on organizing the
reports and dispatching repair teams. Shortly after we began, the Red Alert
klaxon sounded. I ordered all Damage Control Teams to their assigned posts
and hoped for the best.
A few minutes later, Counselor Kel called from the Trieste,
asking if I could be spared to report there. After authorization from
Lieutenant Commander Harsh, I headed to the nearest transporter room and
beamed over.
Arriving on the Trieste's bridge, I was ordered to take the
helm. As we were short on personnel due to a hasty departure, I tied in the
Tactical systems to my console. Counselor Kel immediately set things into
motion as soon as I had the course laid in.
Tactical showed three Klingon vessels within the immediate
vicinity. As we began to close, they opened fire, barely giving us time to go
into evasive maneuvers. Coming around, we focused on the nearest Klingon
ships and returned fire. In the few minutes that passed, we managed to
destroy two of the Klingon vessels. Our damage was considerable given the
pounding we received, but we were still in one piece.
Then we squared off against the remaining ship. Counselor Kel
hailed the Klingon vessel, and it was then that I learned that our Captain
was being held against his will. An idea came to mind and I suggested to the
Counselor that we could try to concentrate our fire to create a weak spot in
that ship's shields, so we could try and beam the Captain aboard.
Receiving her permission, I concentrated all phaser banks to
strike the Klingon ship's forward port shield to weaken it, and launched a
single photon torpedo to punch through. With luck, we'd be able to retrieve
the Captain, but Tactical showed three more Klingon vessels closing.....

Begin Duty Log:
Our battle with the Klingons and Romulans ended with one
survivng ship out of the three that had initially attacked us, but before we
could take any further action in attempting a rescue mission, the vessel
cloaked and began a limping retreat.
Monitoring the immediate area that it had cloaked, we
identified it's ion trail and computed it's general location at the leading
edge. On a recommendation, a single torpedo was launched with a tachyon wave
dispersal. While the torpedo did no conclusive damage, it did however briefly
encompass the target, enabling visual contact. Tractor beams were then locked
onto the target from the Trieste, as well as the station.
During this brief pause, there was a communication between the
Station and the Romulan ship. We did not hear the contents of this
communique, but it did strengthen our positive lock on the enemy vessel. A
few minutes later, the target vessel exploded, apparently from a core
overload.
Scans were partially blinded from the explosion, but an ion
trail was detected a few minutes later. Course projection and time
distilation consistent with it's wave signature indicated that it was
definitely recent and that it was moving away rapidly.
After finding it's leading edge, we moved to intercept .... to be
attacked by a klingon bird of prey. The Klingon vessel overshot us and was on
a direct course for the station, with apparent intentions to ram.

Captain Dmoney
Commander
Station Nigala
SD 9611.04
I had just made my way into the Klingon Bird of Prey's cargo shuttle bay
when I spotted a control panel that had not been closed out. I went over and
accessed the computer via a back door route so that no attention would be
sent my way. I was able to pull up a decoded message from the Romulan Empire
which pretty much explained why they were after my brother Konah, and why
they had taken Leigh and myself prisoner. As I was reading the message, I
became almost cold with fear as I saw the future
plans of the Klingon faction and the Romulan Empire. No wonder they wanted
my brother. And no wonder my brother retreated from them. About two thirds
of the way through the message my access was discovered and terminated. I
new they would locate my position sson. About that time Commander Leigh,
dragging Konah with her, joined up with me. I knew that the Bird of Prey
would be cloaked and that the Station would be in pursuit of her. What I
need was a way for her to be uncloaked and give me enough
time to locate the nearest Star Ship to transport to. I orderred Leigh to
program one of the shuttles in the bay toengage warp in the oposite direction
of the Trieste which I found was in the immediate area. On my mark Leigh
engaged the shuttle and it left the bay overloading the cloaking device and
decloaking the ship giving me enough time to transport the three of us to the
Trieste. We arrived on the Trieste and I took Tactical not knowing the
situation, I left Serena in charge. After arriving
back at Nigala, I called an emergency meeting with my top brass in my ready
room.

duty lawg, tacticle station::::::
I almost made the biggest mistake of my life. I almost blew away our captain,
a fellow jg leutenient, and my CO. but lets start at the
beginning............
There were warbirds from a small sect of rebels made up of Klingons and
Romulans that have united in an attempt to unify the two species in the space
around the station. They were claiming that the captains brother was a
traitor. In all of the fighting several warbirds were destroyed and there was
severe damage to the station. Commander Leigh was also captured by the
alliance along with Captain DMoney and Uhura.
One of the Klinon birds made a kamikaze run at the station but a tractor beam
knocked it off course and it collided with a shuttle bay that was evacuated
prior to the collision.
Two federation starships arrived to scare off the alliance. As the Klingons
cloaked, a shuttlecraft left one of the ships. Believing that this may be
another attempt by some honor bound klingon, I locked weapons and prepared to
fire. As I moved to fire a message came over the comm from the captain. He
said that he Leigh, and Uhura were aboard the shuttle craft. A torpedo was
launched from a klingon ship which must have thought it was traitors, but I
switched target lock onto the torp and blasted it.
I was so relieved, I went from blasting my co to saving her. What a relief.

Captain Dmoney
Commander
Station Nigala
SD:9611.11
Begin Log
Commander Tok, Commander Leigh, and Commander Kel were in my office for an
emergency meeting. I instructed Kel to recall all of her top doctors and
nurses and meet the rest of us in the main auditorium. I also asked Leigh to
get my brother Konah from his quarters and take him to SB for constructive
surgery. I then asked Tok to gather all the rest of our officers and heard
them to the main auditorium. Once there I began to inform the crew of a
secret attempt by the Romulans in conjunction with the
Klingon rebelion faction that have been attacking Klingon outpost along the
neutral zone to over-throw the Klingon empire via the use of a secret cloaked
base that was located inside Klingon space. I informed the crew that the
action I was planning to take was entirely of my taking and not an order from
the Federation. I gave the crew a chance to leave the mission if they felt
uncomfortable about the situation. I sent the crew away to get surgically
alterred to either the form of a Klingon or
Romulan. I then got with security to collect small explosive weapons that
we could use on our mission along with weapons that went along with Romulan
and Klingon weaponry. I then headed down to engineering to decifer with our
Chief Operator the best places to plant the explosives that would destroy the
base most effectively.

DUTY LOG:
In the middle of repairs to some of the station's key systems,
including the internal sensors and the docking bay, Captain DMoney ordered
the crew to the auditorium for a top secret mission briefing. There, he
discussed <classified> in <classified>, and that it was imperative that we
intervene before it is too late. None of the crew directly objected, and
thus the pre-mission work began. Serena and I reported to sickbay so that
our features could be modified to help us blend in well with the
surroundings we are going to be in and the nature of our mission. This will
be a very interesting mission.

Repairs to the station have been delegated to the Damage
Control Team Leaders, as the Captain has announced a mission to be undertaken
by volunteers. Our window of opprtunity for this mission is consistent with
the opening of the wormhole, and will end upon it's closure. Time will be a
critical factor, else we will remain in the Alpha quadrant until the wormhole
opens again.
Preparations have been made to get the Reliant underway as soon
as possible. All ship's stores are ready and I have included a few extra
components to be installed if called for.

reporting::::::::
Repairs are continuing all around the station. the repairs are almost
finished and the two federation ships that helped drive off the Klingons
have begun to recall their crews in preparation for departure. The
shields have been fully restored and torpedos and phasers are being
reloaded.
Just as I was fixing to go off-duty, the captain called for a station
briefing on a new mission. In it he talked about leaving to attempt to
destroy a secret base located in the territory of a federation ally by a
common enemy.
Leigh pulled me to the side after my team prepared some explosives for
the assignment and then prepared the security teams with a seperate
briefing. This is going to be a wild encounter no matter what happens.
It seems as if I have been replaced at tacticle just as I was getting used to
the position.

DUTY LOG:
After being surgically altered to look Romulan, I joined Commander
Tok's team of romulan impersonators on the Trieste, while Counselor Kel and
the Klingons boarded the Reliant. We departed the station and met up with a
contact who gave us a Klingon and Romulan vessels. The two ships proceeded
to the base and our mission began. Once at the base, our two teams seperated
and us Romulans beamed onto the base and began locating key areas in which
to destroy it. We placed small explosive
devices on the reactor core and were going to place more in the computer
core.

Computer, open duty lawg, leutenient jg Torah T'Pal:::::::::::
The mission got off to a slow start with a little confusion among the
commanding officers. After we got under way we were given some new
information. Commander Tok informed us that we were rendevouzing with some
Klingons who supplied us with both a Klingon Bird of Prey and a Romulan
Warbird. We separated as we beamed aboard each ship in a respective
divisions. A small security force was left aboard each ship comprised of
officers that were unable to be altered to look either Klingon or Romulan.
Their
orders were to take the ships into a nearby system and "hide" in the polar
gravity well until they were signaled.
From that point in we were on radio silence with no knowledge of what was
going on with the other team.
Cloaking the ships we separated and approached the planet from different
directions. From orbit, I scanned the compound and found only Romulan, full
Romulan life signs.
Once in orbit we sent down teams with explosives. Each team was responsible
for finding and setting the explosives in places that would provide the
optimum destructive force. My team was the first to beam down and we quickly
found the premium spots and planted explosives. The rest of the team spread
out along the border of the base and continued planting explosives. I beamed
back to the ship and started monitoring the other teams. Then the worst
possible thing happened-- some of the teams were
spotted...................

LtCdr Harsh Nigala Duty Log 9612.2
The last 3 weeks have been rather bizarre and hectic on the entire crew. I
have waited untill this mission was over to write these logs, as to protect
the secrecy of our mission. It all started when Captain Dmoney called an
emergency meeting on 9611.11 to discuss plans he had received about a secret
Romulan base, inside of Klingon territory, in an area controlled by a
dangerous break-away rebelious faction of Klingons who seemed determined that
the alliance with the Federation has made them weak. This
base obviously could be a prime launching point for an allout attack by
Romulans and their Klingon sympathizers. (Ha! like Klingons have sympathy
for anything!)
For this mission, the entire crew was broken into two teams, or perhaps
scattered into two teams would be a better word, as we were "asked" which
disguise we would prefer, that of a Romulan or of a Rebel Klingon. This
caused me to wonder how planned this attack on the secret base really was.
After Kel, Bailey, and the medical staff had altered the senior officers for
the mission, There was a brief confusion of who was leading what group.
After Kel looked at herself in a mirror and realized she was in
a Klingon disguise, the two groups proceeded to get on the same ship and
separate ships and together go to a location to meet Dmoney's brother who
lent us a Romulan and Klingon vessel to use in our attack.
Arriving at the base, both teams secretly boarded the station, and began
laying out several high intensity explosive packages in strategic locations
determined by the station specifications we had mamaged to obtain. I had
spent part of the trip studying Romulan engineering and language to better be
able to decide where to plant the devices. After setting the explosives and
then afterwards trying to convince Jeter that we should not move them 2
meters up (which neither of us could reach anyway), we
ended up getting found out by a stray Romulan patrol guard.
Leigh, Jesse, Jeter, Rader, and myself were pinned down in the fusion
generator room. We tried to act as if we were performing routine
maintenance, however, we were quickly found out to be imposters, and an alarm
was sounded. The firefight that broke out could have not come in a worse
place. Not only was it dangerous that a stray disrupter might hit one of the
generators, but also, we were not clear of the room and the yet to be
detected detonators were rapidly counting down.
With our time quickly waning, Jesse organized us to ambush the approaching
security teams. We could hear them marching down the corridors, sounding
like stampeding grazle beasts more than a security team, they certainly
recognized the threat we posed in our current location. Somehow, Dmoney and
a skeleton crew went back and retrieved the Reliant and got to the station
unbothered. Besides this seemingly unbelievable impossible act, we were
gracious when upon making a break for it down the corridor, we
were all beamed up not one second before the detonation of the generators.
Even though we were beamed up to the Reliant, some of us ended up on the
Romulan and Klingon ships, and the three ships fought their way out of the
Rebel Klingon territory. We managed to somehow get away, and back through
the Wormhole into our own quadrant.

First Lieutnent Serena Bailey
Station Nigala: Asst. Science Officer
Station Ship/U.S.S. Trieste: XO
StarDate 9612.09
Duty Log:
I came on duty at 0800 as usual. I started my day in science lab. With
Scott on a shuttle mission I was the only science officer on duty.
I ran my final tests on Nigalism today and have found it to be a new and
interresting materal that can be in many vital areas. My full report is on
the way to Starfleet science ceneter rightnow.
About 1145 I recieved orders to meet the Pacific at docking bay 4 1300
to pick up is specimens. The day seemed like it would be very uneventful( as
if it ever is on Nigala). At 1300 I was at docking bay 4. Over the com I
first meet Lieutenet Lee Lou.
We discussed the Specimens of sometime and she seem particularly happy about
them. The ship finally dock at 1324 and the crew began it depart. As the crew
departed I sence them to be very happy, in fact many of them were giggling. I
began to wonder if there was some ship wide joke that they were laughing
about. I finallily met Lt Lou, face to face, a few minutes after docking. I
found her to be Just as happy as the other. She informed me that the sample
had been transported the the science lab and were
waiting for us.
As we walked down the corador and she continued to giggle. I asked her
what was so funny, wondering what ship wide joke could keep a crew livid for
so long. She said that " Laughing adds years to your life and I want to live
to be 500," and then laugh out loud. Sensed something was wrong, on just
telepathicly but in my gut, and made a mental note to have the Lieutenet meet
my husband and the counsler later.
As we entered the Science Lab I found Bailey who was just leaveing with
one of specimens, so amazed that he left without even noticing me, but who
could blame him these were amazing plants. In fact they have >>CLASSFIED<<
but they will most likey classfie all that information.
After looking over her files and running some test of my own she began
to Laugh and Laugh and Laugh. Then she took out her Phaser and started firing
at me. I called security and returned her fire with my own phaser but she
fainted before security got there. I had them take her to sick bay and
followed.
One of there Security officer related what had been happening all over
the station. I knew what ever was wrong with the pacific crew had passed on
to the crew of Nigala because I sensed that the security team was alittle to
happy themselves. Half to the Sickbay the team dropped the Lieutenet and
began doing the Macerena( a late 20 century earth dance) with other crew
member in the corador and the worst thing is they did the dance horrablily.
I soon became self evident to me that I would be giving
the crew dancing lessons soon and I would be taking the Lieutent the rest of
th way Myself.
When I entered sick bay I found several of the nurse on bio beds. Kel
was also there doing the Macerena, very talentedly, while on her back lying
on a bio bed lying on a bio bed. The only that was normal was Bailey( not me
my Hubbie). His first question was "Can I smell anything?" It surprized me
because he knew we both had the Gagg Nose flu. He knew I coundn't smell
anything. Then I realized it was the flowers specimens. Bailey related to me
it was the flowers pollen. I ask why inhaling though
the mouth did not cause the same condision. He didn't know, but later I
discovered>>CLASSFIED<< but knowning them they will classfie that too.
We contunied to work one a cure, while working with Harsh by the com.
Then the most amazing thing that has a ever happened and I think will ever
happen on Nigala Happened. Before we could do anything the >>CLASSFIED<< now
if they classfie that it will just be unfair.Whoever reads this log should
know about>>CLASSFIED<<
After Bailey(not me again) cured Kel, Harsh entered and we all
worked on fixing the filler systems of the station to pass the cure around
the station. Thanks to Harsh and Bailey(

LtCdr Harsh DUTY LOG 9612.16
After some minor confusion over who was going to start things off in Captain
Dmoney's absence, the day finally started. Today it was left up to me to run
the station, part of the command staff's plan to give the senior officers
more experience in command situations. This was a day that will live in...
well not quite infamy, but certainly as a sour spot in my memory for quite
some time.
We detected an incoming ship, which matched of all things, a Federation
Constitution Class vessel. Since everyone had believed all ships of this
class to have been decommisioned a long time ago, this was quite amazing. At
first, we thought it might be a sensor glitch, but Stone and his crew found
no fault in the sensor array. I had the science department confirm these
readings, and dig up any information they could about this class of ship.
Also, about this time, a report came in from Leigh about an
intruder she was currently escorting to the brig. From her report, he was
quite a difficult case.
After hailing the vessel, we found out that this was the ISS Tommy Gun, which
we latter found out was from the Sigma Iotia system. We tried to learn how
they obtained this antiquated, yet definately Federation, vessel. Counselor
Kell reported that there was record of a missing vessel, however, this ship's
materials seemed too new to have fit that ship's description. The ship,
commanded by someone only identified as Muggsy, locked weapons on the
station, and opened fire. We defended ourselves of
course, and I had Kell take the Reliant out to disable this menacing ship.
The tiny ship, to today's standards, showed much in terms of manuverability,
and after a short exchange and another verbal stalemate, managed to escape
our last attemtps to disable their ship, and reached warp speed. The science
department reported that there was an incident with the original USS
Enterprise with these people, where they attempted to stop influence caused
by a previous encounter with the USS Horizon. It was
also noted in the Enterprise's logs that some technology was accidentally
left behind on the planet. The Iotians, being an intelligent and highly
imitative race, adapted the influences from both of these encounters and the
end result is what we have seen today. I am only glad that Starfleet now has
stricter control over contact situations, and that no new situations like
this should arise in the future.

For the day, Captain Dmoney excused us from our normal duties so that we
could have a holliday party. We even had some visitors such as Captain
Hanson, Lieutenant Mars, and someone named Jackie, whom I forget their rank.
The replicators worked overtime, producing pies of various cream veriaties.
And it wouldn't be a party without one of Karis' dazling bell trimmed
dresses.
After the crew settled down, a gift exchange followed, and Dmoney anounced
that Commander Kell, who has been the station counselor since before I ever
came aboard about 15 months ago, has been promoted to first officer of the
Halifax.

Leigh found the intruder at a computer terminal. As I came up behind her, the
intruder attempted to access the computer and recieved an electrical shock

Today, I was acting executive officer, as Captain Dmoney had some important
business to attend to off the station, and Karis was commanding officer. It
started out rough, as sensors detected a small vessel on a collision course
with an incoming runabout. Attempts to hail them went unnoticed, but the
runabout did manage to turn at the last moment and head towards the station.
Scans revealed that there were no known lifeforms aboard, which is contrary
to the fact that the runabout seemed under
inteligent control to avoid the collision.
An energy pulse transfered from the runabout to the station, aparently not
affecting any systems, however, we then detected an intruder on deck 5.
Lights where dimming and fizzled out. Chance had control of engineering and
had teams scrambling to get systems back up, as even life support was
failing. To conserve resources, we began to consolidate people onto as few
decks as possible. Unfortunately, durring the comotion, I must have hit my
head, as I lost consiousness. <<damn this AOL>>

The probe headed for the station and started emitting radiation. I was
called back to ops and arrived on the double. I asumed my position back at

As the day began today, the crew was going to take the Reliant out to a
planet to mediate a peace agreement between two factions of the civilization,
Yin and Yang. After showing Krysta arround the Reliant's main engineering,
we were ordered to set up a sensor network with independent nodes that could
follow all the individuals taking part in the meeting down below. Also, upon
Torah's request, we developed some means of blocking unauthorized transporter
attempts in the vicinity.
First though, we had to get the darn transporter console working. After
doing that, I let Krysta work with the transporters to develop a blocking
mechanism. She seemd to take well to the task, and completed a transporter
dampening field arround the meetingplace to prevent unauthorised transports.
Before the meeting began though, the Yin attacked us, and disrupted our
shields.

DUTY LOG:
With the power still out on the station, I headed to the nearest
large facility for assistance: Sickbay. Inside, Bailey informed me that
there was some sort of intruder near the computer systems. A problem arose,
and he short-circuited the power and computer systems, and himself. Bailey
also had some sort of box-shaped device, perhaps from the intruder. I took
it and went to the science lab, but decided to go to Ops so that Leigh and
Serena could see it. However, my turbolift stalled on
deck 10. Serena barely got me out in time; the TL fell down the shaft, and
I might have died. I gave her the device, and we proceeded up the shaft and
to a jeffries tube. A violent explosion shook us, and Serena was injured.
I ordered her beamed to SB, while I proceeded to deck 11, the source of the
explosion.

Lieutenent Comander Serena Bailey
Station Nigala
Stardate: 9702.10
I was in Ops when the power went out. Leigh sent me down the Jeffceys
tube to Engineering to recieve a report on went the power would be up again.
Harsh reported there would be minimal power and as I return to ops to power
actived. I helped Leigh recieve reports from the deck. Deck 12- 15 did not
report in. Leigh sent Torah down to check out why they would not report. I
soon was back in the Jefficucy tubes myself. Scott was in a Turbo lift that
stop between deck 8 and 9. I clumbed down to help him.
I entered the shaft and opens the dooor on stop of the lift. To my surprize
the lift began to shake. I reached down and grabbed for Scott. together we
clumbed out of the lift and just in time to. Once Scott had his foot of the
lift it fell. Scott then showed me a strange device. He said it had been on
the intuder the had caused all this mess in the first place. I took it and we
headed up to Ops. Just them we heard a large sound. We both knew what it
was. An explotion had gone of on one of the deck. I
told scott to duck as a beam came crushing down on us. i moving away form
the beam and then everything went black. The next thing I knew I was in sick
bay and i still had the device with me. Chris was busy with other injured, so
I got up and began to work on the device. that is when I discovered . . .

LtCdr Harsh Nigala Duty Log 9702.10
The day started in confusion, and without illumination. The power was
out, and Leigh had sent Serena down after us in engineering to make sure that
we were going to get it turned back on some time in the near future. Once we
got minimal power restored, a holographic assistance program, HAP, which was
on loan from the USS blahblah. This was quite good timing, as Krysta and
myself would need all the help we could to get things back in working order.
After Krysta got the secondary generators online, Torah came down to bring
us some equipment of some sort. I didn't have time to look at it just then,
and had HAP confirm that the power couplings were stable. I had Krysta
assist me in checking which parts of the station were hardest hit by the
power outages. HAP found some faulty relay switches in the couplings and
proceeded to make the necessary repairs. We began to get the station up
system by system, which took most of the rest of the day.
After HAP was done, I send him to take a look at a blown console up at
Charlie's. When Krysta came back from getting the systems back up, we
switched the power over from the secondary generators to the primary ones,
getting full power up just in time for an explosion on deck 11. I instructed
Krysta to take a repair crew up to that level.

DUTY LAWGS:::::::::::::::: Doctor Bailey arrived on Deck 11 and worked on my
shoulder where I had been hit during the fight with the intruders.
After surviving his maddening sense of humor without killing him, I joined
Captain Dmoney in his search for more intruders. We found them quickly and
they had a bomb planted. They ran at us and knocked us over as the bomb
exploded.
I took some minor shrapnel, but the intruder said that there was another
bomb planted in a bar on the station. I took one of them and headed for
Charlies. We got there with very little time to spare. I would have preferred
disabling the bomb but had it beamed off the station because of the time.

DUTY LOG:
I reached deck 11 via jeffries tube and got out in the middle of a
disaster. Apparently, an explosive device went off and the deck was
smothered in smoke, sparks, and debris. With the assistance of Bailey and
Harsh, we observed the damage and tended to some of the wounded. We were
blocked by some of the fallen bulkheads, but we crept our way through the
corridors and reached those in need of help. However, another explosive
device went off two decks below us, and we were thrown into bulkheads
or onto the floor. Bailey was wounded, and it was his stubborness which
prevented me from taking him to get medical attention, and he continued his
duties. I proceeded to deck 13 to find out what was going on. I got a
little lost on that deck, which was pretty banged-up, but I found Harsh a
little later and he updated me on just how bad the damage was.

As the day began, I left Krysta in charge as I went up to deck 11 to oversee
repairs. Arriving there, I met Jeter. Chance and Bailey also came up to
that deck. Jeter was attempting to get to some traped people on the other
end of this deck. I had Krysta shut down the power converters to deck 11 so
the repair crews could put out some fires and finish their repairs.
After investigating the damage, I had a lead as to how the bomb had worked.
I asked Krysta to investigate and look for a power drain just before the
explosion. The bomb seemed to be tied in closely to our own systems to
prevent detection. She reported that there were no significant fluctuations.
There must have been another explosion, as the station rocked again. Leigh
confirmed that there was on deck 13. How unlucky for us, since we still
didn't have deck 11 wraped up. Jeter went there with half
of my repair crews. We were not able to get the damage all repaired before
the day ended.

exploded. Children have been ingured and burn and sick bay is going crazy.
In the mean time, There are ships demanding there prisoners and we are
trying to figure out what is going on. I have been looking over the reports
from around the time that the bombs went off and i found a 10 percent drain
in power when the bomb went of on Deck 13. Chris came to Engineering to take
a look at the reports. More ingured just keep filing into
sick bay. Leigh ask that we set up a filter for the transporters so we can
beam the people from the other ship over to ours and keep them from bringing
more bombs and any viruses on board Nigala. When we beamed them over we
detected that they were trying to bring more bombs on board and the filters
neutrilized them. Chris had me go to Deck 11 to investigate the site of the
explosion....it was such a mess. I scanned the site but the blast patteren
didnt match any of the ones in Star Fleet Databanks.
Chris called me back to Engineering. Once i got there Chris had remembered
where he had seen the power signatures before. It was the Sarbei. The

Sickbay. I joined in, assisting and bandaging whenever necessary. More and
more officers piled into Sickbay, and it was difficult
to make room for them all. Serena, Elini, and Charlett took the large

Well, it was just one of those days... Krysta, myself, and the
engineering crew spent the whole day trying to find enough power for all the
ships systems and at the same time trying to fix everything that suddenly
became broken when the Yin attacked us. I rerouted auxiliary power to keep
up the life support and other primary systems. Replicator energy was
rerouted into the shields to hold them at 85%. In order to get things
working any better, we had to wait out sick bay's use of an EMH, somewhat
ill tempered I've heard, to perform a crucial operation.
Once sick bay was clear of emergencies, we were able to take the
holo-emitters offline and Krysta transfer more power into the shields, just
incase we had to face another attack. The captain of course, wants
everything, and seemed a little impatient that we didn't have them repaired
to a point that we could sustain Warp for extended periods of time. Well,
just as I was about to send Krysta to fix part of the engine troubles, I was
notified that an engineer was required on the away team. I
figured it would to Krysta some good to get of this ship for a while, and
so I told her to take that spot instead. This plasma conduit I'm trying to
fix looks like it could rupture if I don't get it corrected soon. I just
hope we can get this entire mess straightened out.

Leigh stands by one of the scoops with a personal PADD in one hand. Her face
is expressionless but a beads of sweat roll down her forehead. She looks up
briefly and then addresses the computer. "computer open Duty log."
<Log Open>
At the begining of my duty shift we had two scoops drift into Nigala space.
Commander Tok ordered me to the Space Bay to investigate. Commander Jeter was
sent to aide me in the investigation. Upon arrival I discovered that we would
not be able to enter the scoops without damaging them. I called Commander
Harshman to the Space Dock for assistance. Upon arrival he set to work in
opening the doors.
I ordered Commander Jeter to put up a level two containment field around the
space dock and the vessels. Soon after the doors to the scoop lowered. After
a bit of a discussion about who would enter first I entered the scoop. Upon
inspection we found four individuals wrapped in a crystalline fiber. One was
clearly dead, his very essence sucked out of him it seemed, the others were
barely alive.
I proceeded over to the second scoop and set about opening the door. Harsh
arrived seconds after the door opened. I entered with him covering me. We
found four more individuals, all alive.
After visual inspection of the second scoop I ordered the containment field
be upgraded to level one. Whatever happened to these miners, the thing that
caused it could conceivably still be aboard these ships. Shortly after
entering second scoop and the upgrade of the containment feild the feild
sparked...or had a static reaction. I am unsure of what caused this. I
speculate that one of three things happened.
1) The field had a minor power surge.
2)Whatever caused the death of one miner and put seven other miners in
critical condition tried to escape..and did..
3) Whatever caused the death of one miner and put seven other miners in
critical condition tried to escape but did not..and is still within the space
dock.
Based on these speculations I've suggested to Commander Tok that we upgrade
the containment field to all of this deck, the deck above, and the deck
below. I'm also suggesting that at this time we don't try to transport a
medical doctor into the space bay for fear that whatever caused these events
could use it to escape. As of yet we do not know what we are dealing with.

As the day began, two mining scoops where discovered drifting into our
general vicinity. Unfortunately we had one fusion generator down at the
time, and so we had to do some energy juggling, sacrificing replicators and
holodecks upon Liegh's suggestion, to boost power to the sensor array.
After the scoops had been drawn in, I went down to assist Leigh's team to get
into the scoops which seemed to be sealed and locked in some fassion. I
managed to use some engineering tools to pull back a panel to expose the
inner circuitry of the access pannel, and found the manual override console.
Jeter made sure a level two containment field was in place before I entered
the manual override code to open the hatch. Once we entered the first scoop,
we found the people inside cocooned in some crystal
substance. The enviromnental controlls where set to almost freezing as
well, not even 10' Celcius.
Leigh moved on to the second scoop with the tool I had used to get this one
open. I offered to assist her but too late I guess. This scoop was in
similar shape, but the people where still barely alive. Something was
definately wrong though, as we all heard the containment field "zot"

Scenario:
We are continuing our investigation of the two mining vessels <scoops>
that arrived last tour of duty. The vessels were unpowered except for
emergency life support systems and 7 of the crew were found to be in some
sort of stasis, 1 dead.
Commander Stone ordered a level 2 security field emplaced before
Commander Harsh succeeded in accessing the first scoop's door controls and
cycling it open. Upon entry, the crew was found to be enshrouded in some sort
of crystalline-silicate fiber. The same material was discovered inside the
consoles and equipment aboard this scoop. It was theorized that this material
in some way sabotaged the ship's running systems. The dead crewman was also
found on this vessel. The second scoop was found in the
same condition as the first, excepting only that all crew were alive,
barely.
At some point during the initial survey of the scoops, the containment
field flickered but appeared to remain intact. Understandably, this
unexplained aberration was a matter of concern to security and Commander
Stone upgraded the containment field to level 1 as well as ordering level 1
fields to be placed on the surrounding decks. She posed three scenarios for
the cause of the flicker; the most worrisome being that some creature or
entity breached the field.
It is Commander Stone's feeling that the surviving crew should not be
beamed to sick bay at this time, even with all security protocols in place.
She believes there would be too much risk involved in such a course of
action. I see her point, but I cannot find it in me to deny the surviving
miners a chance to be treated and, hopefully, brought back to full health
when there has so far been no discovery of any intruder, viral or bacterial
agent being let loose by their mere presence. Therefore, I will
be consulting with both Dr. Bailey and Commander Stone as to the best course
of action.
If it is possible to treat them effectively in situ, then that is what
shall be done. If not, security and medical will have to come up with a
viable plan for removing the miners to sick bay...unless it becomes apparent
that they are indeed a threat to the safety of those aboard the station.
[Return to Archives | Return to Listing ]
Mission Objectives:
Securtity/Tac: 1> Maintain the safety of the station and those aboard
it.
2> With Engineering, discover the cause of the
flicker in the security field
3> If security proves to have been compromised or
breached by a creature
or being, come up with and carry out a plan of
action to rectify the situation.
Engineering/Ops: 1> Discover, with security, whether or not there was a
field breach.
2> Ascertain the cause of the scoops' loss of
power.
3> With Science, determine the nature of the
crystalline-silicate material
found aboard the scoops and, if possible,
the origin of it.
Science: 1> With Engineering, determine origin and nature of
the crystalline-silicate
material found aboard the scoops in the
panels, consoles and
surrounding the miners.
2> If it is discovered that security has been
breached and there is now
*something* roaming free aboard the station
<or, hopefully, contained
to the area between the scoops and the
level 1 containment fields>,
discover its nature and a way to detect
and contain it. <Coordinate
with security as necessary>
3> Back trace the course of the scoops and
discover the area of their
most recent mining activities. Using
available records, search for
any information on that locale that may
provide us with an idea of
what we are dealing with here.
Medical: 1> With security, determine the best course of
action concerning
treatment of the 7 surviving miners.
2> Perform an autopsy on the deceased miner.
3> Using the findings from the above two
procedures, determine the nature
of the agent responsible for the miners'
condition and, if it proves viral or
bacterial, devise a vaccine or other
appropriate course of treatment.

Background info:
Scoop: A scoop is a mining vessel that resembles a shuttle with a storage
bay 6 times its size attached to the rear of it. The storage bay is used
solely for equipment and ore storage. Standard crew for a scoop is 4 miners
<pilot, navigator, surveyor and mech>. The crew is confined entirely to the
shuttle-sized forward area, which makes for tight quarters.
The scoop is designed primarily for asteroid mining and, as one would
expect, the entire scoop is heavily shielded against all types of radiation.
Although scoops are meant to remain in space, they are capable of manuevering
in atmosphere and even planetary landing/takeoff.
Nigala routinely has 1 or more scoops docked at any given time while the
miners repair, resupply and relax...

We finally figured out that the contianment field did not hold whatever alien
that arrived on Nigala in the scoops. I tried to telepathicly read one of hte
miners' mind that was still alive. The images I recieved were faint. The
overall impression was terror, pain, then nothing. I also sensed something
chasing him but could not discern what was chasing him as the *thing* was
hazy and undefined.
After this several reports came in at once. One from Torah that an Ensign who
had run into the force field in terror was not going to be of any use and
that she had the crystalline fibers around her feet. It is obvious our
continment field is useless.
Jeter also reported that the last stop of the scoops was some insectoid
planet. I'm not sure how this ties into our current problems but maybe if we
can reach the planet we might figure out our problems.
I am going to suggest to Karis that we release the containment field since it
has already been comprimised. That will give us a better chance to set up
another means of finding out what has been released on the station.

Due to the unexplainable incident involving two Scoops, I was compelled
to spend much time in the science lab seeking clues revealing their fate.
Locking myself in the lab to perform lab analyses on the crystaline
substance. Also, I researched the backlogs of the scoops, locating their
flight path before drifting into the J-23 system. It was discovered that
they were last reported at a planet doing mining work. This planet also
happen to be the home to an immensly large insect population.
Results from the analysis revealed that the crystaline was probably organic
in origin. I reported my findings to Commander Tok, explaining that one of
the members of that insect population took a liking to the members of the
scoop team, which would explain the crystaline compound. At the same time,
several of these insectiods began to run amuck through the station. They
were described by Leigh's teams and frightened by what appeared to be a phase
Spider. I was determined to come up with a
remedy...er repellent for this giant spider. I conjured up enough and
dispensed them through the replicator systems to Leigh and her teams to help
battle the spider.

Scenario:
It has become apparent that something has breached the level 2 containment
field that was interposed between the scoops at Docking Bay 4 and the rest of
the station. Thanks to Commander Stone's quick action in upgrading the
containment field to level 1 and interposing a buffer of level 1 security
fields between the areas now considered at risk and the rest of the station
<ie. the surrounding decks>, the threat may have been contained.
That a threat exists is no longer a matter of debate. *Something*
frightened Ensign Marilyn Farnsworth so much that she ran screaming down the
corridor and straight into the containment field. And *something* sent
another terrified officer, Lieutenant, jg Mikin Belar, running toward the
investigating team, babbling in fear... Fortunately, Commander Harsh managed
to warn him in time to prevent him from suffering the same fate as
Farnsworth. Halting just outside the barrier, he tried to convey the
nature of the threat. Unfortunately, all he managed to say before he fainted
was, "The...the...there's...a..." as he pointed down the corridor behind him,
gibbering in fear, "..a...um, big... ...thing back that way..." he gasped,
"...I think it is eating Lieutenant Mallory!" Very dramatic, to be sure, but
of little practical value.
He was beamed to sick bay, as was Farnsworth, but neither of them have
been able to provide us with any further information. Farnsworth, either due
to the nasty jolt she received from the security field or because she was
scared witless... too early to tell. Belar, because he has yet to regain
consciousness. According to Doctor Bailey, that is not a matter of concern as
his species <Ostrician> are known to bury their conscious mind in the sands
of oblivion when they have received a severe emotional
shock. Which, I would imagine, watching Lieutenant Mallory being eaten would
qualify as.
Commander Jeter analyzed the crystalline-silicate fibers found in the
scoops and on the miners. He informs me that it is an extruded fiber "quite
possibly and most probably biological in origin." He and his department also
managed to research the scoops' most recent area of operation: Inea Prime.
Thus far, data indicates that the planet's indigenous life consists mainly of
insects. He has come across no record of native sentient life. He is still
researching the matter.
Commander Harsh and his assistants worked on assessing the damage to
the scoops, stabilizing the security fields and retrieving the scoops' logs
for Jeter's analysis. He and Lieutenant, jg Krysta were also quite efficient
in locating the problem and restoring power when all primary systems
unexpectedly failed in Docking Bay 4.

Mission Objectives:
Securtity/Tac: 1> Maintain the safety of the station and those aboard
it.
2> As security appears to have been compromised
or breached by a
creature or being, come up with and carry
out a plan of action to
rectify the situation.
3> Locate and rescue, if possible, Lieutenant
Mallory and evacuate the
area between the two sets of level 1
security containment fields.
Engineering/Ops: 1> Once the nature of the threat to the station is
determined,
coordinate with Science and Security in
finding a way to detect,
contain and/or eliminate it.
2> Develop contingency plans, if possible, based
on the premise
that the threat may be able to pass through
the level 1
containment fields as well. Where does that
leave us?
3> Return the scoops to working order. This is
NOT a priority at this
time, but does still need to be
accomplished.
Science: 1> Search for further information on Inea Prime and
its indigenous lifeforms.
2> Coordinate with Security and Engineering to
find a way to detect
and contain/eliminate the threat, once
it's nature is discovered.
3> Analyze, with Medical, any samples of
anomalous materials found,
such as the crystalline-silicate fibers,
and speculate as to the
nature/method of its creator/creation.
Medical: 1> With security, set up a secure area in sick bay
to treat the 7
remaining miners and any other victims we
encounter.
2> Perform an autopsy on the deceased miner.
3> Using the findings from the above two
procedures, determine
the nature of the agent responsible for
the miners' condition and
see what can be done to return them to
full health. Be sure to
convey to the other departments any
information gained by these
procedures that will help us identify the
threat.

LtCdr Harsh Nigala Duty Log Stardate 9704.14
As I continued to look at the scoop and figure out the status of the
containment field, I had Krysta do some research into the scoop schematics.
Usually the scoops just stay here briefly, and we don't do too much work on
them. I've personally never had to work on one before. I was able to
determine that whatever had breached the containment field before did so by
phasing itself to match the frequency of the field, thus rendering the field
usless. As for the other strange occurences going on, it is
hard to tell what has been happening. We still seem no closer to
understanding the crystaline encasements, the phasing creeatures, which have
now revealed themselves as arachnid like creatures, and how they infested the
scoops to begin with.
I managed to remodulate the containment fields to a frequency phasing
creatures should not be able to match, and I also coordinated with Krysta to
try and convert the sensor array from one of the scoops into a phase scanner.
I managed to rig up something crude, and the spider was detected, and
appeared to be somewhat injured.

Scenario:
We now have a better idea of what we are up against: Spiders. Big, hairy,
ugly, the-size-of-three-dobermans-standing-side-by-side SPIDERS. And if that
weren't good enough news, these babies apparently have the ability to phase
in and out of sync with our reality. One of the spiders was injured when it
crossed through the level 1 security barrier by the docking bay. It started
emitting an eerie wail, of pain, one would suppose, that allowed Ensign
Templeton to track it through the communications grid
while it remained unphased. Spider number one made its way to cargo bay 4,
directly below docking bay 4, where it curled up by the bay doors.
Apparently it had been grievously injured by contact with the security
barrier and had lost the ability to phase. That, coupled with the amount of
<I guess you call spider 'blood' icor...> icor it had lost enabled Lieutenant
Torah and his team to put it out of its misery with relative ease.
Commander Harsh and the engineering staff continued working with the
miners' vessels, maintaining and upgrading our intrastation defenses and
searching for a way to detect the phased spiders. He believes he has come up
with something that will do the job. With the added data he can obtain by
study of the recently deceased Spider number one, he should be able to
calibrate his phase sensor <or whatever he calls the gizmo> much more easily.
Commander Jeter and his crew managed to synthesize a spider repellant
that will, hopefully, be effective against the phase spiders. The repellant
has been made available at all replicator stations, I suggest you each avail
yourselves of some immediately. Lieutenant Mallory could, if he were still
alive to tell the tale, back me up when I say it is extremely unpleasant to
be munched on by a phase spider. Now, if Jeter could only do something about
the funky odor of the repellant itself... *Sniff*
*Sniff* ...I think he could probably market it as vulcan repellant when this
is all over. ::grins, imagining the advertising:: "Troubled by pesky Vulcans
in the early stages of Pon Farr? We have the answer: Vulcan-No! It's
guaranteed to bring a sneer of disgust to the face of even the most
emotionally controlled vulcan and to send amorous vulcans running in the
other direction."
Doctor Bailey and the folks in sick bay have their hands full with the
treatment of Farnsworth and Belar, discovering an antivenin for the seven
semi-comatose miners and the autopsy of the dead miner. Lieutenant Kivo, who
has been visiting the station lately, has kindly leant his assistance to
Doctor Bailey and is proving to be a great asset to the medical team.
Commander Serena Bailey, the good doctor's wife and our beloved counselor, is
making some progress with Ensign Farnsworth, hopefully
Marilyn will be fully recovered and back to regular duty soon. As for
Lieutenant Belar, I have been assured that he will need little counseling
once he has emerged from his self-induced comatose state. Another benefit of
being an Ostrician, I suppose.

<continued from previous posting>
Security and Tactical have been working on evacuating the high risk area
between Docking Bay 4 and the outer perimeter of the security fields. It is
believed at this time that all personnel in the affected areas have been
located and been removed to a safer location.
Commander Stone recommends that the security fields be dropped, as they
are not hindering the spiders appreciably, but are in the way of our security
teams. I disagree on this one, to a point; spider number one was injured by
contact with the level one security field although it <or another> was not at
all affected by passing through the level two field. As far as is known, no
spiders have yet passed the outer security perimeter. Therefore, I want the
outer fields to remain up but the field by
Docking Bay 4 <the innermost field>, may be dropped to allow security
personnel free access to the area the spiders are believed to be roaming.
As to speculation on the number of spiders that remain, judging by their
large size and the dimensions of the scoops they arrived in, it is speculated
that there are between one and three spiders still on the loose. It has been
determined that the spiders are not sentient, so we need not fear disobeying
the Prime Directive if we need to destroy them. I would, however, prefer to
return them to their home intact. I realize this may prove impossible.

Mission Objectives:
Security/Tac: 1> Maintain the safety of the station and those aboard
it.
2> Locate and corral, contain, destroy or
otherwise dispose of
the remaining spider.
Engineering/Ops: 1> Complete work on the phase detector and put it to work
tracking down spiders. You may want to
coordinate with our
new Communications expert, if the detector
could be hooked up
to his console, we could scan the entire
station faster than
if we rely on handheld devices and security
teams alone.
2> Return the scoops to working order. This is
NOT a priority at this
time, but does still need to be
accomplished.
Science: 1> Search for further information on Inea Prime and
its indigenous lifeforms.
2> Dissect the dead spider and coordinate with
medical to synthesize
an antivenin to supply to the teams
working to locate and eliminate
the spider threat, and for use in aiding
the recovery of the spiders'
earlier victims.
Medical: 1> Continue the treatment of the seven miners and
our two affected
crewmen.
2> Work with Science to create an antivenin
<see Sci#2>.

Everything went well, We were able to destroy the two last
spides. Me and Miles and to use the Comm and the lateraly controls to try
and locate them. It worked for a while, but we had to change the frequceny
several times. Even though the crew were able to destroy them in time. Also
the Chief Enggineer got promoted that day. Well that is all for now.

Leiutenant Commander Leigh Stone
Chief Security/Tactical Officer
Second Officer
Acting Executive Officer <Now, who's the Jill of all trades, Karis?>
After a lot of waiting and planning Harsh was able to get his scanners in
place. We located the remaining spiders. One of them was in the same room as
us. We had a contianment field put around the supply closet it was hiding it.
It eventually came out and came right towards me. I sprayed it with the
repellant and my over-eager Alpha security team blasted it with their
phasers.
After that we headed for the second spider in which Chance was trying to take
care of. As I rounded the corner I saw the spider with Chance in it's grasp.
I began spraying it with repellant. I continued spraying it until it curled
into a ball near the bulkhead. It was alive but it was injured to the point
it was not going anywhere.
We placed it in a specially designed box with a level One containment field
around it and a special feature which will deliever a shock fifty percent
stronger than what the other field would have given off. That should hold it
in place long enough for Scott Jeter to conduct his tests on it.
I am recommending to Karis Tok that we send it back to its homeworld ASAP. I
have also had all the security teams make a sweep of the station, using
Harsh's scanners, for anymore spiders or the possibilites of offspring. At
this point nothing has turned up but that does not mean anything. This is
Space Station Nigala after all.

Scenario:
With all departments working cooperatively, we were able to track down
the final two phase spiders. It was unavoidable that we kill one of them, but
the other we managed to capture alive. Using the knowledge we gained from
dissection of the first spider, Doctor Bailey was able to formulate a spider
anesthetic, which kept the captured spider from coming to while we were
transporting it back to Inea Prime in the Reliant. Operation Spider Drop went
off without a hitch and the phase spider is likely
scuttling about the planet's surface looking for its next meal at this very
moment. A warning beacon was placed in orbit about Inea Prime and a full
report of the incident has been made to SFHQ.
All things considered, we came off very lightly in the encounter,
although we are saddened by the loss of Lieutenant Mallory and the
convalescing miners miss their comrade who fell victim to the spiders before
their arrival at the station. The medical staff has been working very hard to
speed the miners' recovery along, and we expect that they will be able to
leave us in a day or two.
As for injuries to our own personnel, Belar has already returned to duty
and Farnsworth should be well enough to be put back on the active roster in a
week or so. Serena has done an amazing job, we were very lucky to have her on
hand to step into the job when Kell left us for bigger and better things.
Engineering has completed the repair of the scoops, and Commander Harsh
has given me his personal guarantee that they are completely free of phase
spiders, so the miners need not fear using them. His next task is overhauling
the Reliant's FTL drive, as it was only functioning at 80% efficiency during
our trip to Inea Prime.
We are also preparing the station for the forthcoming visit of the
Keldaraan Ambassador, our first formal contact with a sentient species native
to this sector of space. SFHQ is very interested in furthering diplomatic
relations with the peoples of this sector and we have been urged to make sure
we put our best foot forward. Even though the final arrangements for the
Ambassador's visit have not yet been finalized, preparations for it are
already being made all over the station. Even Charlie's is
getting a facelift!
