Paul was raised on Earth in California. As a child he dreamed of going to
space and exploring the universe. When he was ten years old a betazoid who
had come into contact with radiation read Paul's mind. The radiation caused
something to go wrong turning Paul into an empathic. He rarely uses this
ability though he has on occasion.

Academics:
Paul has always excelled in school. In Starfleet Academy he was at the top of
all his classes. His classes included Physics, Advanced Engineering, Advanced
Chemistry, and Advanced Tactical.

Personal:
Paul is a very hard worker though sometimes he gets a little to involved
staying up all day and night working on a tough problem. He enjoys playing
darts, running simulations of being a Captain of a starship in Holosuites and
he enjoys working on tough problems. He is not afraid to let people know what
he thinks which has sometimes got him into trouble. Other than that he is a
very capable worker.

Mother and (Father), Toral, were captured by Romulans. Mother was forced to
watch as Romulans first tortured and then killed Toral, after she had been
raped repeatedly in front of him.
------When she was freed by a Klingon ship, she went to Vulcanis where she
had a friend who tried to get her to abort the child. T'Pal would not hoping
the conception had occcured before the capture. It had not.
-------I hid my romulan ancestory under the guise of being part vulcan, until
my God mother informed me that my blood father had been Romulan, instead of
my mother being part Vulcan. After she told me of my ancestory, I joined
Starfleet in the area of security in hopes that I could earn honor in
preventing other people from being treated as my mother was.
-------I was raised on Vulcanis and taught the ways of the vulcans. The
attempt at pure logic did not hold. Many occasions my klingon heritage came
into help though as a child. Climbing Mt Sol my step-brother started to slip
and i reached down and grabbed him one handed and pulled him up to a ledge.
-------I took leave from Nigala in hopes of finding my true heritage. A DNA
test on Romulas helped me find my half-brother (Noraak) and his wife
(Taynora). I was working with him doing various piloting duties on his
diplomatic duties. I also served as a bodyguard at several functions, many on
Romulus or Remus themselves. The Romulans seemed to have accepted me more
than I thought they would based on my mixed heritage.
--------Shortly after hearing that the station had been blown up Taynora
introduced me to one of her friends, Kellina. With no reason to go back to
the station, we were married. Eight months later, upon returning from a trip
with Noraak, we found that Taynora and Kellina had been hiding a secret, each
were pregnant. But we found out after they were killed by a cowardly attack
on the colony by a group of romulans who did not want the bloodline "TAINTED"
by other species.

--------While Noraak and i were cleaning the rubble, news came to me that the
station had been rebuilt and no one had died. Noraak looked at me and told me
to go back to my friends. That was where I belonged. The senator gave me a
scout ship in order to return to Nigala. The ship still has its cloaking
device intact and can achieve a max of warp 5. It also is equiped with type 2
disruptors and a type 2 medium tractor beam.
-------During the latter part of Leighs preganancy, I was named acting Chief
of Security. Turns out it was good practise. Leigh has decided that she
should join her husband and has resigned her position. Though she HAS
promised to visit when she can.
In the wake of her departure I have been promoted to Chief of Security.

------------------COUNSELOR'S REPORT----------------------
-----Torah is a very unusual Klingon, partly because he is half-romulan.
Though he has not completely mastered the Vulcan control of emotions, he has
a better grip than most Klingons. His romulan bloodline has given him a small
amount of telepathy, mostly being able to detect emotions and swings. With
training this could be a valuable weapon. The possibility exsists that he
could even learn to communicate with telepathy the ability is there already
anytime a stronger telepath is near. He also has the
vulcan/romulan ability to mind-meld.
-----The death of his mate and unborn child had left him empty. A rare
occasion with Klingons, but that is probably because of the mind-meld with
his wife. The loss of a meld partner is often very devastaing. Yet the
strange blood mix torah has seems to have saved him. Time on the station is
improving this condition, as should the new duties assigned with the
promotion to Chief of Security.
------a new ability seems to have arisen since being in an eletrical storm.
When ever near someone with telepathy, Torah's telepathic abilities grow
stronger. When communicating with another telepath, the distance over which
the link can be held is still untested.

Lani a the child born to unknown biological parents. She was left at the
door step of an orphanage on New York City, New York, Earth at the age of 3.
Then was adopted by Lori and John Mackman. Was accepted by StarFleet
because of academic excellence straight from highschool. Currently stationed
at Nigala, her first assignment in what is going to be a long career. So far
nothing more is know about her past life. For all she cares, it doesn't
matter anymore, the biological parents didn't want her
and that's that! No use being grumpy over it.

Personality:

Lani is very warm, caring, and will do anything for a friend but can become
very annoyed and extremely pissed and will do just about anything when she is
really pissed(EXample: Twist victim's head off.) Beware of her dark side.
But all in all very friendly. :-)

Special Interests:

Earth martial arts....aikido, shokukan, karate, judo, kunfu,
taikwando...etc. Meditating, meeting new people, making friends,
animals(especially cats and sloths), sitting around reading, writing,
listening to late 20th and early 21 century rock and electronic music,

Karis Tok is the daughter of a Vulcan ambassador (father: Sevek
Cha'Velek)
and a Klingon general and much-decorated war hero (mother: Tok'Ara of House
Tok'Ara). Although her parents remain married; except for infrequent
meetings, they have lived separately since before her birth and, until
recently, only a few close friends were aware of the alliance...fewer still
knew of the existence of Karis or her twin sister, Amaris. Karis spent the
greater part of her childhood traveling between her parents in the care of a
retired starfleet commander, Aurora Mason, who, along with Karis's distant
cousin Pela T'Spol, was responsible for thwarting an assassination attempt
on Ambassador Velek's life. This same officer was instrumental in introducing
Karis' parents and is their most valued and trusted friend and Karis's
unofficial godmother. Mason is also a close friend of Amaris's guardian, the
distant cousin who helped save the Ambassador's life.
Due to their unusual background, the twins often behave in a near-human
fashion, though this behavior is more noticeable in Karis than in Amaris.
Karis is friendly and out-going with a strong sense of honor and loyalty. She
has inherited her mother's cunning and a very logical and disciplined mind
from her father. Much to her guardian's dismay, she also has her mother's
off-beat sense of humor and has played many a prank on her.
Karis was taught by private tutors, both klingon and vulcan--her
parents saw to it that she had the best education money could buy. Due in
large part to her parents' and guardian's concern for her value as a hostage
or possible target for assassination, Karis received intensive training in
klingon,vulcan and human forms of self-defense, much of it from her cousin
Pela...during one of the few periods in her childhood that she and Amaris
were allowed to be together. The girls were usually kept separate to provide
less of a security risk.
When Karis grew old enough, she applied to and was accepted by Starfleet
Academy--she had always been fascinated by the many stories Mason told of
her career, and had also vaguely felt that to follow in the footsteps of
either of her parents would be somehow disloyal to the other parent. Her
sister
also applied for admittance to and was accepted by the academy. Both her
parents approved of their daughters' decision and also respected their wishes
not to 'pull any strings' for them---allowing the two to make their own way
in the world. When Karis and Amaris graduated starfleet in the top 1% of
their class, their parents, guardian and cousin attended the commencement
exercises...it was the first time in 5 years that they had all been together.
Space Station Nigala was Karis's first, and thus far, only posting.
Through diligence and perseverence, she has worked her way up through the
ranks from ensign to commander; serving variously as medical assistant, Chief
Science Officer, yeoman and third officer, second
officer and finally, executive officer.
Karis has recently given birth to her first child. The identity of the
child's father remains a matter of speculation. The Commander has made no
statement on the subject.

Counselor's note: Although Karis is outwardly well-adjusted, she has internal
conflicts due to her klingon/vulcan predispositions and the human influence
of her upbringing. Fortunately, at this time, her vulcan logic and klingon
pragmatism prevent her inner turmoil from interfering with her duties and
day-to-day existence. To head off the possibility of
problems arising from this situation, it would be advisable to alert her
future counselors so they can monitor her progress.
It is interesting to note that Karis and her sister Amaris share a psychic
bond, stronger than that often found between twins. Although they were
primarily raised separately, they would often talk to each other, even over
great distances. Initially their guardians thought the girls had over-active
imaginations, but it was eventually proven that they *were* actually
communicating with each other...although it is still unclear just how they

Jon lived in Wattford, England, Earth (a city close to London) with

London shipyard to look at the new smaller vessels being built and tested.

Star Fleet Training:

Jon focused on the Security, Tactical, and piloting courses at the

one. The others were won with various other weapons. His weapon on
preference is a class two rifle; although, he could do just fine with no
weapon at all.

Elana was raised on Marrina II, which is predominantly water. After
graduating from R'Mara Academy, she went on to work on independent projects
and research studies dealing with marine biology.

After dealing with a research project on Daled IV which was destroyed by a
rebel faction, and the research team's rescue by a Starfleet team, Elana
decided she ought to add some security/defense studies, so she applied to
SFA.

She continued her marine biology studies while pursuing a security/tactical
secondary degree.

Elana met and became involved with FstLt. Christiaan Back on the USS
Potemkin. While on medical LOA for tulipola, she had a bi affair with her
childhood friend, Tiferet Joss, but the couple eventually worked through the
problem.

species abilities, unknown life span, and state of records prior to that
period, there is no accurate way to predict when they first arrived on Earth.

passing the required logic tests for admission to the Academy, Conrad chose
the Vulcan name of Cador and has used it ever since. Graduating with Honors

birth and, until recently, only a few close friends were aware of the
alliance...fewer still knew of the existence of Karis or her twin sister,
Amaris. Karis spent the greater part of her childhood traveling between her
parents in the care of a retired starfleet commander, Aurora Mason, who,
along with Karis's distant cousin Pela T'Spol, was responsible for thwarting
an assassination attempt on Ambassador Velek's life. This same officer was
instrumental in introducing Karis' parents and is their most valued and
trusted friend and Karis's unofficial godmother. Mason is
also a close friend of Amaris's guardian, the distant cousin who helped save
the Ambassador's life.
Due to their unusual background, the twins often behave in a near-human
fashion, though this behavior is more noticeable in Karis than in Amaris.

is not a reflection of a lack of confidence in your ability, it is solely for
my own personal protection. I will take steps to have your personal access
codes added to those with access to these files- please keep in mind that
much in these files have political and social ramifications and are for
your eyes only to enable you to treat me medically more effectively.
Until I can add your access codes, the following file is one I sent to the
Archives some time ago while I was still on the Defiance. It may clear up
some initial questions you may have about my race.

To the Director,

It has come to my attention in my studies of Xenobiology and Cultural
Xenology that your files concerning my race of people is some what limited,
and the connotations of some of the material are misleading.
We are known to you as Daledians, we accept this designation out of
convenience to facilitate our dealing with the Federation. Daled is the name
you have given to our star system, and our current "Home World" as you term
it, is the fourth planet of the star. Hence we are known to all in the
Federation as the people of Daled Four. We however do not use that
designation among ourselves. The translation for what we call ourselves is
"The People".
Your records are misleading in recording this as our planet of origin. It is
true that this is our current home world, however our origins are a matter of
much debate among our scholars and the true answers are lost in antiquity. I
am of the school of thought that believes that "Daled Four" is not our planet
of origin, but is merely the most recent of a series of planets to have
become our "Home World". My school of thought is in the minority, but
has a substantial following, with as much evidence in its favor as any of the
other schools of thought on the matter.
Among other things, the most pressing argument my school presents is the
unlikeliness that our race would have been able to evolve to our current
state on a planet such as Daled Four. As your records note, in our "natural"
state, my race's anatomy is essentially what you refer to as an
energy/protoplasm mix or as in one description I read "a meshing of energy
and matter that is self contained, self aware, and has a distinct boundary,
but is of
indistinct shape".
This has not always been the case. General evolutionary theory holds that
creatures evolve from the simple to complex as the environment requires
adaptation. In keeping with this, our scientist all agree that we evolved
from more basic biological form, possibly a humanoid one (although this is
another hotly debated point of contention), to our present state. Where the
scientists divide is over the fact that although Daled Four is an ideal
planet for
our current evolutionary state, it is not one in which more "primitive"
(note: I use the word primitive in the scientific sense connoting the
procession of geological time, rather than the improper colloquial which
would connote barbarism) organisms would have prospered. I believe that Daled
Four is classified as a "hostile" surface environment for humans. My school
of thought believes that we evolved on a class M type planet, then settled on
Daled
Four later. There are space faring organisms, if our ancestors stumbled upon
one, they could take on its form and aspect to travel from their planet to
settle another. This is feasible given our allasomorphic capabilities. It has
been tested to the extent that individuals have taken the form of such
creatures and have survived in space.
The more "accepted" view is that is that Daled Four was at one time a class
M planet quite similar to Sol Three, and that some catastrophe caused its
alteration to its current state. It is also proposed that such an event is
what triggered our evolution to our current state.
Neither school is provable beyond a reasonable doubt, but both should be
mentioned in the information about our planet of origin rather than an
assumption that Daled Four is that planet.
Our lifespan is noted in your files as being unknown. Indeterminate would
perhaps be a better term. We do not have an average number of years that an
individual tends to live before their body systems "wear out". Much depends
on the type of life that person lead. It would be uncommon for a person to
die of "natural" causes under the age of 250 standard cycles. However it is
not too surprising to find an individual of 1000 cycles or more. That is not
to say such individuals are common just that it is not a feat a Daledian
would consider difficult to accomplish. It is experience, not age that is
valued by us, and there is no necessary correlation between age and
experience.
A person of 1000+ cycles whom had led a very active and challenging
existence the entire time would be quite unusual, very highly respected, and
considered to be very wise. Whereas one of that age whom had never tried to
achieve much would not be regarded as wise, but as someone who feared to risk
in order to achieve hence had achieved little. Any Daledian can become old,
but to have accomplished much and become old is very unusual. More Daledians
die of unnatural causes than do of "old age" or diseases. The more active the
life style the quicker we "age", and the greater the chance of an accidental
death occurring to us.
Another very important variable to our lifespan, again unmentioned in your
records, is the amount of time we spend in forms other than our "natural"
one.

Being allasomorphs, the amount of time we remain in a another form, say a
humanoid form, places strain on us that our bodies would not be enduring in
our natural state and hence, ages us faster than we otherwise would age. On a
day to day basis, this strain is insignificant and is not noticed, however
over the course of a few hundred cycles it becomes significant as a factor in
longevity. This is somewhat ameliorated by knowledge and familiarity with
a particular form. The more frequently the same form is taken and the more
thorough the knowledge of the biology of that form is, the less physical
stress it will place on the individual who takes that form. This is why you
will often see Daledians "specialize" in the forms they take and establish a
particular individual identity for each species they take the form of.
Becoming "the same" human each time you take on that species form is much
less
stressful than becoming a "different" human each time.
Your files are also not quite complete with respect to our means of
reproduction. Your files mention our fusion/grafting and subsequent division
as a way of creating new individuals, with the two that emerge from the
grafting being different individuals than the two that entered, an exchange
of DNA having taken place. It then mentions every once in a while three
individuals result instead of two. You make it sound like we are amoeba.
This is not the case. First, the impression is given that when we merge we
lose our identities as individuals, and that after emergence we do not
remember our former existence. I assure you from personal experience that
this is not the case at all. We do not "loose" ourselves when we merge, we
merely "gain" the other person. It is very similar in fact, to what occurs in
a Vulcan mind meld but instead of just "melding" on the mental level, it is
done
in total: body, mind, and soul. It is the "Two becoming One" that humans
attempt to achieve symbolically in their marriage rituals, except it is
actual for us. We call this "Bonding" it is in a manor our natural form's
equivalent of human intercourse. Unlike human intercourse however, bonding
never results in children "by chance". The exchange of DNA mentioned in your
files is merely our way of literally keeping part of the other person with us
at
all times. When we emerge from bonding we retain all of our own memories and
some of the other person's though it is much vaguer than our own.
Bonding is a part of reproduction but is not, in itself, enough to
reproduce. It is a step in the process. Sufficient extra mass must be gained
by both parties (not just the one as in humans), before bonding (rather than
after), and an offspring must be actively willed by both parties during
bonding in order for the birth to occur. Upon emerging from bonding the child
is born. It is much smaller than the parents and the parents are their normal
size, the extra mass gained being given to the creation of the child. This is
contrary to rumors that the parents become smaller and that the parents and
the child are all the same size as they emerge.
The above holds true only in our natural forms. We Daledians are true
allasomorphs. This means that unlike other races that only alter their
external features to look like other beings, We really actually become the
being we are appearing to be. If we take on the shape of a human, we have all
of the same internal organs as a human, and while in that form, can be killed
by anything that would kill a human. This is one of the reasons that lethal
accidents occur more frequently than might be expected for a race of our
energy/protoplasm make-up.
This also has reproductive ramifications. It is possible for Daledians
to reproduce in the manner that the being who's form they take on reproduces.
A Daledian in human form could produce a human child. Whether this child
would be fully human or have allasomorphic abilities varies from situation to
situation. It partly has to do with the intent of the Daledian parent(s). If
the case is two human form Daledians, the offspring will be which ever (fully
human or fully Daledian) they wish it to be. Other situations are less
clear, but if the Daledian parent(s) do not actively wish the offspring to
have Daledian characteristics, it will not have them. It will be a true
offspring of the form the parent(s) are in. If in human form, the child would
be human. In essence, unless the "powers" (for lack of a better word) of the
Daledian are actively used then the biology of the form they are in takes
over to produce and offspring of that inherent biology.

Personal History

Jade has six younger brothers back on Trill, though none of them have yet
been joined. Her daughter, Cyna, stays with her on her assignments. Her
child's father, Jaleh Kaj, disappeared before Donna ever realized she was
pregnant with Cyna. Donna entered a deep depression and left home, leaving
the child in the care of her mother for the first 5 years of her life. She
feared this distance would destroy any chance for a
relationship, but that has not happened. Cyna possesses a love for life, and
a large heart. Kaj however, has recently reappeared after an 8 year
absence, and disappeared once more during Jade's abduction aboard the
Halifax. She has not heard from him since.

Although Jade is currently in her 7th host, this is the first female host,
and is forced to experience life from a totally different perspective. Jade
has drifted from relationship to relationship, finding no one to keep her
heart interested for more than a few weeks at a time. With Kaj gone for
good, she accepted the fact that she may be alone for the rest of her life.
That is, until Scott Jeter came along.
Hiding her feelings for him for ages, they were forced from her at a banquet
where she and the rest of the Nigala crew consumed poisoned wine. This wine
magnified the feelings Jeter and Jade had for each other, and the secret was
let out.

But happiness does not last long, and another foreign agent left behind on
the station by the Chamel was responsible for an aggressive surge from the
crew. This aggession led to the breakup of Jade and Jeter. ::plays
violins:: Happiness is a feeling Jade has long since forgotten. Life has
changed, and her only reprieve is her offduty time she spends in Charlies,
singing her pain away.
